This Psychiatrist is classified in the category of Doctor.
UNPROFESSIONAL and RECKLESS. The front office staff and Dr, Oms do not return voice messages, messages left with the front desk, faxes, etc. Even my pharmacy was unable to get a simple prescription refill. I have four pages of documentation showing that Dr. Oms did not EVER respond to their numerous calls/faxes/voicemail in addition to a lengthy call history. I left a message about an EMERGENCY and I was not able to reach anyone nor did anyone return my call. EVER. That is dangerous for any doctor, but especially for someone who treats mental health. I am pursuing every avenue available to file an official complaint against both Dr. Oms and the practice.
Whoever answered phone informed me, although Doctor takes my insurance, doctor won't even take appointment with me because of current treatment plan from primary care doctor. Seems like they are not interested in helping people. Why can't the doctor see me, ask me to try a treatment plan he/she believes in and get me to stop the other doctor's treatment? I obviously was calling to see psychiatrist because my current treatment is not working so instead of getting help I get a lecture that the doctor doesn't believe in my current treatment, and furthermore, won't even see me to try and help and change treatment. Completely ridiculous and another reason why many don't seek the help they need. Avoid this place at all costs they seem to be looking for patients with the best insurance.
Dr. Oms was a blessing to find. Really gets to know you and prescribes carefully. I think I finally found the care I was looking for. Thanks!!
The facility is as they state "a low maintenance" place. My mother is a forensic psychologist with over 40 years of experience in 2 different states, she is one of the leading doctors in south Florida who treats RAD. Just to give you a background of were I am coming from. She agrees with all my statements here. This place is completely unethical and should not be able to practice. I have never heard of a psychological disorder that was LOW MAINTENANCE. More like "we only want to deal with people that aren't a lot of work and we can collect our check in the end". I have been prescribed Xanax for over a decade, I have never abused it. I have actually stay well under the dosage I was prescribed. I have titrated myself down to .25 mg over a grueling 2 year battle to rid myself of this addictive substance. They point blank told me "we don't take people like you" (actual words). I have had a long history of psychiatric treatment, with a lot of bumps in the road and a lot of bad doctors. One of my doctors, many many years ago had is license in the state of WA revoked for excessive use of ECT treatments. Dr. Sandman (I know the name, I swear I am not making this up lol), you can google it. It was incredibly hard for me to get through my battle, but I have, and I have been stable for several years now. SO I would assume I would be "low maintenance". I am seeking help for another medication I am taking, Celexa for anxiety, which I do not feel is working well for me. I did NOT need help with my Xanax at all, I am near the very end of my titration period and have had excellent results. I have to say this office is by far worse than any other facility or doctor I have ever seen. I am actually thinking of going back to school to attain my own doctoral in psychology with a specialty in DBT therapy. I would never treat anyone the way this facility does. I am appalled by their treatment of potential patients. Honestly with all of my experience with doctors, hospitals, medication, in 3 different states, on both sides of the country, including an extensive participation in a study at Columbia University in NYC for DBT and Anxiety, I WOULD NEVER recommend this facility.
I couldn't even make an appointment The receptionist, "Vernon", asked me if I had a prescription for a controlled substance like adivan. I said yes, but I had never used it before. He said they have a controlled substance policy and couldn't accept me as a patient. What a slap in the face, not to mention he made me feel extremely uncomfortable on the phone with his arrogant attitude. I told him I would even throw out the prescription and he said they still would not accept me. PSC is a scam. How dare you not accept someone who is trying to get help with her mental health.
Never returned my call for $10,000 worth of TMS, at this point if they did I wouldn't do it here due their lack of ethics. Good example of not being able to find good support.
I wish I could give this place zero stars, the front desk guy was the biggest POS I’ve ever spoken to. Not only did he insist that I had called before( which I had not) he began to argue with me calling me by someone else’s name. He was rude and belittling he raised his voice to me for no reason. I have already contacted the better business bureau and hopeful that POS will lose his job. If you can’t be nice don’t work with the public, simple as that! What a disappointment.
was referred here by my primary doctor, as I'm suffering from generalized anxiety and depression. I informed them that I am having daily panic attacks, and even just today had vivid thoughts of suicide. I was told that I cannot be helped as I take CBD marijuana on my own to lessen my anxiety symptoms. I apparently need to be clean for a year, I'm not sure if I have a year. This is the most irresponsible health interaction I have ever had. While I was given other numbers and told I should go to a hospital, how are you refusing to treat a mental illness due to weed use. It is an approved treatment in the state of Florida, and drug abuse goes hand in hand with mental illness. I have never reviewed a place, but these people deserve to loose their license.
I like my doctor- but theres a gentlemen receptionist who isn't so polite -at all. Needs to work on his phone manners
Outstanding effort by Dr. Pusey-Darling and Dr. Colleen Greene with my case! Relative to other doctors in SE Florida, highly organized and efficient with care and records. Truly caring providers! I highly recommend!
3 years I've been coming here and its saved my life. Good Mental Health Care is so hard to find and Ive been blessed to be as stable and happy as Ive every been thanks to Rebecca and Dr. Oms. Thank you
The WORST. I would give half a star if I could. Do not go here. First of all, good luck getting an appointment. They have zero availability and when you try to speak with someone on the phone, it's even more impossible. Over the course of 2 months, my husband and I have called 7+ times, left 4+ voicemails, been able to speak to a live person 1 time, and received 0 call backs from the voicemails left. For a place that caters to mental health and being a support center, this is an appalling joke. I get a 100x better response rate from my dentist. Once you DO get in, their walls are paper thin, so privacy clearly isn't a concern of theirs. They also switched up the doctor I was supposed to see at the last minute - as if I wouldn't notice? Poorly poorly run. Don't waste your time coming here.
My first appointments Co pay was 25$, on my second visit they told me they messed up and should have charged me 60$ so I ended up paying 95 on my second visit. Very unprofessional
If you're looking for a doctor who cares about you, then Dr. Cohen is the perfect doctor for you. He is caring, empathetic, office staff is excellent and made time for me. Over all, he is a great doctor that makes you feel comfortable. I recently went for my annual check, and he never seemed rushed. What more does one need, yes? I highly recommend him.
im not doubting the credentials of these doctors, but there is no true good health care without good communication.
I called to make an appt to interview her, & the condescending man who answered the phone said, Dr Darling is only seeing patients over 50 yrs old. I said I’m 48. He said sorry, it’s a private practice & she can do what she wants, it’s her prerogative!
Wish I would have read the other reviews before I went there. They never return phone calls or you have to wait 20 minutes to speak to anyone. They do not seem genuinely interested in helping. Was treated in a demeaning manner.
If i could give less than one star, i would. They (Dr. Cohen) refused to see me for a medication i disclosed a month prior to the appointment. They made me confirm over 7 times that i was going to make it to the appointment and they would not see me the day of. Most unprofessional, disgusting excuse for a mental health physician I've ever seen. They should be ashamed. I will be reporting them to the state. This is why people don't seek help for mental health issues. These type of Dr's make it impossible!!!!
Horrible! Service terrible treatment terrible! Doctors don't show up if they do long waits! DO NOT DO TMS HERE!!!!! A money pit with noone who follows up or answers questions! No results after thousands of dollars!
The front desk staff are incredibly rude.
Dra Oms first treated my father and soon sfter we brought my mother and now she has helped me as well. She has always been there for us and given us great care!
Whomever answers the phones for this psychiatric practice needs to get a new job. The person was very rude, short and not friendly at all, nor helpful.
Dr Jason Cohen is a real great psychiatrist to see. He figured out what meds work for me and I feel better compared to how I’ve felt in years. He takes the time to talk to you and he LISTENS. If I haven’t moved I would still have him as my Dr today. I doubt I’ll ever find someone as wonderful as him. I highly recommend him to anyone!
Woke up this morning really depressed anxious, and a little ptsd panic attack to start the day. Felt relieved though because my appointment with Amanda Pusey was finally here and I could get the help I desperately needed . I got there 25 minutes early (12:35). My appointment time 1pm rolls around, I didn’t care how long I waited as long as I saw the doctor. 1:45 I hear my name... the front desk girl informs me the dr had to step out of an emergency, which I understand emergencies happen but then they can get me in for another two weeks?! I can’t go another two weeks like this..after waiting a month for this appointment. Asked for a refund which I thought it was even weird they charged me before I even saw the doctor and had to leave. I could not rationally deal with this situation nor did I know what any options for me were. I begged the girl if there was any doctors , anything sooner is there anything I can do to get help I desperately need?! She just stared blankly at me, “is there anyone else I can talk to ? “ still just a blank stare, She didn’t care , why should she this is just her job. I just left , I drove myself to the hospital, got treatment and have a doctors appointment with a different practice tomorrow. All this office did was trigger a huge anxiety attack and waste my time. Really scary though because this is a big example of why it’s so hard for people to get help. Like what if they did that to someone who was really feeling suicidal with no hope ? No one suggested I go to the hospital, no information given to get help, not even a comforting “it will be ok, our doctors are great and worth the wait”, nothing, that’s just negligence .
Dr. Cohen is the best I have found since the 1960's. He saved me and was so caring, honest and willing to keep at it until we found a solution. He always returned my calls and was amazingly understanding. I am so grateful to him and would recommend him anytime.
I am really happy I saw Dr Cohen. I was introduced to them by a friend of mine. I got to their office the next day, and everywhere was looking organized and well arranged. I went straight to the receptionist, who later ushered me to Dr Cohen's office. The doctor asked me some questions in a friendly and professional way, before prescribing the needed drug. Everything has been going fine since I started taking the prescriptions. Thanks for the service.
Only psych that will treat you like a person and not have medications ready to give you the minute you walk in.
Dr. Oms didn't spend enough time talking to me. I was in and out of her office within a couple minutes.
Dr. Cohen wasn’t “comfortable” with my current diagnosis or treatment plan. This was a waste of time because after about 45 minutes into the appointment, he wanted to refer me to someone else. I’m not sure who their demographic is but they don’t seem interested in taking on cases they legitimately need help. So unless it’s your first time in life getting treatment, don’t bother coming here. Additionally the office staff told me to lie to the doctor about my past treatment plans, that’s how much of a reputation the doctors in this office have for not working well with patients, even if the patient is SEEKING to make change. I’m not sure what they do.
Good caring psychiatrist.
Didn't meet their standards for a new depressed patient LOL
