Will Thiery

Hello my name is Will Thiery. I spent 17 days in the CORE program. First off the staff there was very professional and kind. I came in with no hope, feeling displaced and no where else to turn. Once I went through one on on did ART (accelerated resolution therapy), yoga , psycho education , process group and many more programs I feel like a new person. I can't say enough about Jamison, Dr. Bajor Mrs. Levern, Alex, Da BC e and Mrs. Larain. I learned so many skills to be able to cope with so many different situations it was just pure AMAZEMENT!!! I was in a definate crisis situation where there men and women never gave up on me. They gave me the tools to find myself. They helped me deal with my traumas along with many other issues. My hat goes off to all of these people. The nursing staff treated you like a person not a patient or a number. So for this thank you ALL for a job well done. I will be hiving all the information to the people back here in Ohio that this I'd the srstr of the art facility to get better. Again thank you all. Will Thiery

I was there for moral support for my sister since she signed herself into here voluntarily, but when my sister changed her mind and told the Admissions Case Work "Raven" that she wanted to leave the case worker replied to us it could take several days to get released and became very argumentative when answering our questions.

Anna Saunders

Very rude and inconsiderate. No compassion for people they are suppose to help.

They let you smoke (that's really what stabilized me)! They eventually help get your meds in order but if you have family harrass them to do so, other then that I say the place is over rated! Their rules are petty & you sometimes might need police to get you released bc the doctors only tell you what you want to hear, not what's real! I wouldn't recommend this facility! They didn't want to let me leave on a baker act! They kept me 7 days on a 3 day baker act?I feel they are all about the money! Then when it was time for release, they tried to get me to stay 28 days telling me my insurance would cover it. I didn't want to stay, so that was out of the question! Definitely all about the money type place! Most of their techs were nice but they had a few who abused their authority & made my 7 days hell! This is my opinion....

Abby Hawk

Where do I start? I was there for 4 days and I was treated with no respect. I was moved from room to room, due to the patients being off the wall. I was on Unit A. Worst Unit Ever. The food was disgusting. The only person who was nice to me was the doctor. I would never come back again!

Richard Palmer

The best 6 days of my life. I learned some much about myself and was given the proper tools to cope with my depression and alcoholism. I cannot understand how the others in this posting didn't gain the same positive experience I had. Your attitude is very important on the outcome of your treatment.

Insurance leaches and trigger happy prescription pushers as "Phycologists" who only see the patient every few days. Will OVER-MEDICATE without a full diagnoses on a patient and staff members dont care. They fufill their shift and go home, the less they have to deal with the better. Having nightmares about a place thats supposed to have put someone on the right track just seems off and i guess.... Messed up. Its not the staff that is having to go through what they have set up as a system in that place though. I bet that probably reduces the amount of horrible nightmares about being drugged or stuck in a unfamiliar place for an unknown amount of days or weeks, not knowing when youll be able to come out of this facility and be a human being again.

Jeff Ricard

Very unprofessional people work here. I would never go here again(Although its 1(one) step above jail?! Maybe?) I was in so much pain from not having my medicine. However the food was ok. Some of the staff was helpful and professional...however Dr Rodriguez was not being professional. I don't see what was so difficult about getting my medicine?! I needed my medicine!!! They did not give my medicine!!! I was sick from not receiving medicine.

NOT WORTH IT!! DONT TRUST DR KHAN! I am a long term sufferer so I understand the process. This place is a JOKE. Yes, its clean, updated facility, but they really should have bought a few less plasma TVs and spent some money on training their staff. This is a glorified nursing home. The daily mental health tech staff is shockingly ill equipped to work with mental illness patients. We were belittled, made fun of, ignored and treated like feeble children. 24hrs after arriving I received no instruction on rules, procedures, schedules, staff, but I was instantly berated for not being "proactive" enough to learn them. I received a small information packet that promised respectful treatment, safe, stable environment and full schedule of activities, therapy, etc etc. In reality the so called activities were run by unqualified staff with little to no knowledge of the subject and even less interest in us. The nursing staff was just as bad. These groups happened when the staff felt like and we very very very very very rarely were to go allowed outside leaving patients nothing but watch TV all day and wait for cigarette breaks. It should be noted that their system for smoking is incredibly counter productive. 7 smoke breaks a day, 2 cigarettes at a time= 14/day. There are 20/pack. They are creating addicts who do nothing but wait for another smoke. And likely turns casual smokers into pack-a-day smokers. (I am not a smoker myself but it was hard not to start!) And to my complete shock there was no content filter on the TV which allowed violent news, dark drama, horror and sexual content which can agitate stress, violent thoughts, behavior and in no way provides a stable environment. Patients who lined up first at med time were made fun of for being "addicts", "too eager". They lost my blood test twice, probably cause they kept calling me the wrong name. They food was cheap, full of starches and fillers and then we were lead through the halls there was no effort to hide staff only soda and candy, etc machines. What purpose does it serve to remind patients of what they can't have? My family had a very hard time getting anyone to return their calls regarding my progress. After I was discharged for almost a week I called to get my records and they didnt know I was gone even gone! They hung up on me and called my family to verify that I was, infact, who I claimed to be. Spend your money and time where they care about patients. The only benefit is Dr. T. Johnson, and the facility is so new that it was still relatively clean - probably where they spend all their money.

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. Where to begin??? The facility's lack of concern would be a great start. Medication prescribed by patient's primary doctor was not given to him. I called our primary doctor to call the facility and they refused his call. Patient waited days to recieve items such as clothing and books that were dropped off. Several unsuccessful attempts to speak to head staff and was hung up on 4 times in a row (they have caller ID). They will extend your stay for further blood work or whatever they can come up with to milk out the insurance. I called and requested the patient to be released and by law they have 24 hours to fulfill the request. When I called back they claimed they misunderstood. I clearly thought my words, I want the patient discharged was simple enough. After all, they should have competent and educated staff in leadership/ supervisor roles. I was told i would get a call back in an hour. That came and went. I called back and the case manager fumbled all over her words and later that day I got the call he would be released next day. Now I sit here in their waiting room. The patient I'm picking up calls me and ask when I will be here. I've been here 30 minutes. Either the girl at front desk didn't call back or someone forgot. So..... hopefully anytime now he will be free of this unorganized, unprofessional, non compassionate facility that claims the opposite. BTW... they still have no hot water! Good grief!!! Now his personal items cannot be located. Really I question myself as why I am surprised! The reviews expressing concerns about how this facility is ran and managed is dead on. I would be ashamed to say I worked for this company. Their priority is to make a profit!

If I could leave a negative star I would. This is the worst facility ever. I have been dealing with over 20 different facilities for over 10 years as my son is an addict. This go around my father in law had some issues and was sent here involuntary. No communication at all my wife and I had to call 8-10 times a day just to talk to someone unrelated to his case .No case manager, no discharge manager. We dropped his clothing off the night he was checked in, he was in hospital gown for 4 days. 20 minutes before visiting time they gave him clothes from there lost and found. Matilda is the worst very rude non professional and no follow up. She even hung up on myself and my wife. We found out by talking to a head nurse, again someone not from his unit, that he would have a court date the next day at 930 am, this was at 5 pm. My wife took the day off heading that way which is 45 miles from home, only to find out no court date. She started heading home and someone called and said he was being discharged now. Upon discharge his hearing aide was stolen this morning he has missing clothes and they want 1$ for each copy of any paperwork you want. This is the short list I could fill pages with what is wrong with this place. I have filed greivences with elder care, their corporate ethics Dept, and today with Dept of human services. Do not go to this place.

frowlong .

I would give this place negative stars if I could. My boyfriend decided he wanted help for his anxiety and depression; and when he tried to talk to the "doctor", (who's been arrested multiple times), this doctor wouldn't listen to what he needed or what his concerns were, and copy-pasted prescriptions he's given to EVERY patient. They treat their patients like dogs and keep them locked up and have them around insane people.

I agree this facility needs to be shut down! My friend came here on a baker act for substance abuse and after almost 11 days there she was worse than when she went in. We received the call that she was being released. My friend didn't even know where she was, how is she supposed to go home alone? We begged them to help and their only response was "discharge is final". What did they do to her while she was in there? When she arrived she at least knew where she was and could hold a conversation. The day they forced her to leave, She couldn't see you or hold a conversation and only walked in circles worried about her coloring book. We left and took my friend to the ER where she was transported to another facility because even the ER staff knew she shouldn't have been released. Five days in the new facility and she was back to her normal self. The staff was horrible to family members. Not friendly at all. Always made you feel unwelcome. The only one there that was nice was Christine at the front desk.

Horrible experience! Held against my will for five days with no treatment. Disorganized professional staff and poor patient management. Left feeling worse then when I started.

I have a friend who was admitted to this facility, and I have acted as her support. She received no help and after 5 days walked out with two prescription and a lot of anger. it's disorganized and she received therapy that was irrelevant to her situation. Unfortunately, it has completed soured her view of therapy and behavioral health. I was unable to communicate or even pass a message to her during her time there. It seems they are extremely disorganized and don't provide appropriate care.

So I answered an add for a drivers position, stating they are in need of drivers cause of the current "growth" in need for workers. Had a face to face interview with the supervisor for the drivers and another (female) supervisor/director who seemed interested in hiring me. Seeing is jobs around here that offer something worth staying in are few, i was pretty happy about it.....was! As I waited after the interview, they mentioned to me there HR department was going to reach me within the week I went to the interview to let me know what they offer; pay, benefits, so forth...that was 2 weeks ago. I know, some hiring processes take a good amount of time. However, i called several times and left 2 separate messages asking if the position is still available with no response. I called a third time and left a message, soon after (while writing this) they called me back. Good right? well, according to them, they never got the massages and the position is still available BUT they will call you back IF you are hired. Which means, if they don't need you, they wont even let you know leaving you "in the dark" and wasting your time waiting for an answer. Of course, this wouldn't be so bad IF they would at least send an e-mail or maybe a letter or something so one could move on. I gave it a 3 star rating because I do not know the inner workings of the company a side from the negative revues, but that is it as far as that goes.

leroy washington

In my opinion the length of stay is based on what the insurance will pay, not the facts of a patients health status, I was told that a voluntary order was on chart and that if the patient wanted to leave the physician could baker act the patient, I was told by 4 different staff members 4 different answers regarding the court order of a patient(ordered because a parent suspected drug use) - 1st person marchman act, 2nd person baker act, 3rd person marchman act, 4th baker act. I made several requests for the physician to call me to explain the reason why a non suicidal patient with a negative urine drug test was being held and have not received a return call. A patient is court ordered on a substance abuse unit and tests negative for drugs. When arrangements were being made the facility stated that the patient probably would only be kept 24 hours if marijuana was detected. In my opinion the patient is being kept because of having good insurance. I am contacting an attorney. My opinion only, parents beware.

Samantha Scotch

This place is the most disgustingly unprofessional and rude place I have ever encountered. “Dr.” Hart refused to even meet or talk to me before refusing treatment. I was in the php program which is made to help stabilize and treat people! They refused to tell me why and the employees even said they have never seen anything like this before. Do yourself a favor if you’re in crisis, go anywhere else you can. They have no interest in helping people get better.

Erik Engelsen

Wish I could give this place negative stars as well. No therapy, unless you consider coloring, board games, mindless T.V., and A.A. (brought in from the outside, if they show up) therapy. All there was to do was sleep, smoke, eat, smoke, snack, eat, smoke, snack, eat, watch T.V., sleep, repeat ad nauseum. The "schedule" is loosely, if at all, followed. The "doctor" will Baker Act you if you disagree with anything she says. We were locked down with only a total of 1 hour of outside time daily, which consisted of a small courtyard with a 12' chain-link fence ensuring there was no way out. Most of the day we were corralled in a common room, our bedroom, or the group room. And we were herded to and fro the cafeteria, and the other wing for the A.A. meetings. And the employees shuffled paperwork more than they watched what was going on with the patients. Everything was done with paper and pen! Here we are at the close of the 2nd decade of the 21st century and they're still doing things the way they were done last century! Medications were distributed at irregular times, no consistency whatsoever. I was off my medication for 2 1/2 days before the doctor prescribed me with new meds and had the gall to interview me at 8p to ask me how I was doing, I was livid! The only saving grace were a handful of techs and a doctor. Dr. Tracy C., Techs Adrian, Kim, Bobbie, Sky, Precious (yes, her name really is Precious), and Jack, all went above and beyond to assist the patients with their stay. If it wasn't for them, and my wife constantly calling requesting updates on my care, I'd probably still be in there!

Not only do they push you to take multiple different pills in such a short amount of time they also do not give you any time with the doctors or psychiatrist that you need. When you first go into this facility they make it seem like you can talk to anyone you need at the time you need them. Lies. You’ll go days without talking to anyone that is supposed to be evaluating you and how you’re doing. The wing I was put in the amount of disrespect from the staff is crazy. They DO NOT CARE. You go into this place needing help and comfort in knowing these people are here to help you when in reality you go in here feeling more crazy than ever. You don’t leave here feeling better. In my personal experience I saw somethings and how they treated some patients that I seriously think about on a daily basis now. You can go to group or not, you can sleep all day or go sit in the front room that they turn the tv off so you sit there for hours just in your own thoughts, unable to go outside until a certain time and you only get 15 mins every time they do let you out. I watched staff laugh and not help a guy for a few minutes who was having a seizure falling to the floor and hitting his head. I watched a patient who didn’t want to go to lunch or take his heart medication and they didn’t force him to take it even though there was a chance him not taking it could’ve killed him. I watched staff mock patients, not give them clothing for days etc. I’ve never been to jail but a lot of people in there definitely compared the two. If you look online this place has less than 2 stars and I can go into more detail on why they shouldn’t even have that but all the reviews on google can speak for themselves. You need and want a family member to get better the worst thing you can do is send them to this horrible place.

I will be forever grateful for this place. This was my stepping stone. I came here a mess. I was afraid , lonely and hurt. I had been through a nervous breakdown and all I wanted to do was nothing. I could barely watch tv without having a anxiety attack. It’s not the cure all center but they give you the resources to slowly recover. Starting from Ms Bobbie in Intake to Kioma doing my intake interview while i was having a Attack and her keeping me calm. I started in php and boy was I terrified to go. Rory and the rest of the staff made me feel comfortable. I then met my big sisters (the nurses& therapist) I love me some resha, Meghan Viv and Shera lol. They are good at what they do. I’m not completely 100% but going from not getting a haircut for two months and laying around having anxiety all day wanting to die in an out hospitals to now wanting to live gives me hope. Everyday wasn’t always a good day. There were days I’d go outside and cry. I’ve even broke down to the therapist. This is not the place for you if you want them to hold your hand and do it all for you. You have to take initiative. I think them for the push. The drivers even have your back here. I remember a day I had anxiety in the van and Ozzy got worried and asked if I needed a ambulance. I’m like no just keep going. It’s the little things that show you they care. You just have to be willing to get uncomfortable and be vulnerable. Plenty days I thought I’d die and I’d run to ms Katie office and she’d look at me like boy your gonna be ok lol. I will always remember you guys and the many people I met (Samantha who works in php,Greg , Deborah , Theresa, Galacia, Joy, Lisa, EA and a bunch of others who pulled me out of my sorrow and refused to let me sink.

This place is horrible, I would never ever go there, find another behavioral health if you can!! I have to make some calls to the CEO or the Administrator, that's how bad it was and I never complain about anything, until I was admitted, they don't treat you very good either!! Brandon Regional would be my choice, if I absolutely had to go! I had one of the ladies who was leading one of the a.m groups, she said to me in front of the entire group that "you haven't stopped crying since you've been here. I had lost a good classmate, one of my aunt's passed away from Alzheimer's.. Then one evening my mom tried to call, to tell my my other aunt wasn't to make it much longer over the phone. Then the (techs) violated my rights to go to the hospital when I know I was getting pneumonia..In a rude manner, one of the techs said.. what makes you think you're getting pneumonia..all your vitals are fine. I was admitted into the hospital with double pneumonia, I could've been proactive about it they had let me go. This was just a few things but once I'm feeling better, they will get a piece of me. If my insurance doesn't pay for all of my bill, I will be taking them to court over this. Im hoping to call and complain tomorrow ..and it's not going be pleasant!!

Jonathan Sies

Money hungry and they do not care about people at all. Go somewhere else!

Abdullah AlGahtani

Because of restrictions on amount you could check in for inpatients, the staff did not pass along a small but "expensive!" concentrated oil perfume with a small make up kit. They did not return my calls multiple times after I was told they didn't find them! Finally the "manager" called back but without an offer for compensation nor an apology! Disgusting!

Kaylee Farr

I had Dr. Boyapati and he spent no time trying to talk to me about my concerns and issues. He misdiagnosed me and would not see me everyday as I was told he would do when entering this facility. After being released I shortly found out he is known as the “mugshot king.” Two DUI’S and more. I can’t believe that this facility would hire someone of this nature and expect him to treat patients with mental issues and concerns. I recommend researching this doctor who is the main doctor for Unit A. He has been arrested multiple times and has spent time in jail. This is far from professional.

Michelle Gomez

Mr. Chris unit A was amazing!!! Him Elonde, Dominique, Shevan and Fred helped me through it. Compassion and genuine care is what I recieved.

Ignore the negative reviews. You are going to get out of the CORE program experience, what you put in. Most of the negative reviews are from people that refuse to admit they have a problem. The staff is extremely considerate, and everyone will bend over backwards to help the Veterans that they serve. The CORE program goes above and beyond ANY rehabilitation program that I have ever had to endure. There was a time that I even wanted to "quit" and sign out of this program; I would have if it weren't for the group members and staff giving me the confidence to continue to graduation. If you put in the work, and really want to get the help you need, then I implore you to consider NTBH. In summation, "Thank you for YOUR service, NTBH."

Voluntary they let me go through a seizure.there was a old woman there they give her 20 minutes to eat.she could barley pick up a pea with her fork.she had grits running down the side of her face.and started coughing. I went to get the nurse. She said she always does that.

Nicole Glennon

Just called trying to talk to my brother. What a garbage facility! Very rude, can't even transfer me to the correct unit, and now they can't locate him! I will be doing all I can to Have this facility evaluated.

Literally the worse place to send a family member. The nursing staff can barely even be called nurses. I spoke with a supervisor because of the care my family member received , and the situation escalated all the way to the CEO of the facility. The patient care advocates don't even know the law, or the correct information to provide. They neglect their patients consistently. While I was there for a visit an elderly woman asked the nurse 5 TIMES to go to the bathroom, as she was wheelchair bound. The nurse ignored her and she eventually defecated on herself. PLEASE KEEP YOUR RELATIVES OUT OF THIS FACILITY! -5 OUT OF 10.

I was admitted inpatient and I was treated horribly within the first 2 hours. They lied to my parents and said I was out of control, and I was just crying because I wanted to go home. They threatened me multiple times, I lasted an hour in there until my parents called the cops and got me out of there. I volunteered to get help hoping to learn how to handle my depression and anxiety issues, and ended up scared surrounded by disgusting middle aged men and in a room with a not working toilet that people STILL used, and a shower with no curtain. I told the nurse there was no shower curtain and she simply shrugged and said "she would look into it." For a young woman in the same unit as a bunch of alcoholic middle aged men is in NO way okay. Doors did not lock and I did not feel safe. Doctor was rude and unsympathetic, the supervisor was telling the cops lies about me and trying to sell me and my parents on the outpatient program even after all of this happened. I wanted to come here to learn to love myself and deal with my problems and get away in peace for a while. What I got brought into was what felt like a jail with untrained nurses and management. I do not recommend. Please, stay away from this place.

Barbara Gail

Stay away and please dont have your loved ones backer acted to this place. You get no mental health care, the Dr's wont give you the meds you are already prescribed. All you do is sit around all day and watch TV, go out for smoke breaks, eat or sit in a meaningless group where you play games that half the people cant play due to their inability to understand. You get no sleep because of other patients screaming and crying, or because the techs do their 15 min rounding and open the doors and wont reclose them. The staff is very rude. Standing around talking about patients or flirting and being inappropriate with each other. The only 3 caring techs were Chris on nights and Jack and adrian on days. There rest were totally unprofessional.

Limary Gonzalez

This place is clean that’s all about it, the way they operate is not the best, hours of visitions are not very convenient we have traffic around the hours of visitation, and they are closing Memorial mental department hospital, this is the reason they send patients to this facility and the place is far but very far and if you need translation they don’t have the right staff to talk when you need it, you leave messages for case worker or someone to call you back and they ignore you completely, they have nurses all the time but not a doctor to talk to, I don’t recommend this place at all, take your significant other somewhere closer, and if you whant to talk to someone make sure they available.

This place is terrible. The staff do not care about anyone. One specifically, Cynthia, is an awful person. She goes out of her way to make the patients feel bad about themselves. I went 2 days and half the 3rd day without brushing my teeth or showering because no one gave me anything to do these things. And after asking multiple times, Cynthia, who was sitting around chatting with co workers all day finally decided to make me a basket with toiletries but she purposely “forgot” a towel. I didn’t want to give the satisfaction of asking again so I dried off with my hospital gown. A male staff member almost walked in on me while I was showering and claimed “I was just checking up on you”. The psychiatrist who I saw for only 10 minutes lied to me about why I was there. She “read” my report to me and later after seeing my report, none of the serious accusations she claimed were on there, were there! Group which is spent coloring in children’s coloring books or playing taboo is not helpful to anyone. I was never told when I would be released even after asking. And after 4 days and being told I would be kept for a few more days, my boyfriend called and threatened to consult with a lawyer and they discharged me immediately. He said the first phone call, the receptionist said that I signed a voluntary treatment paper to be kept there longer. I signed no such thing. He called me ( after being on hold for 30 minutes) because the staff member who answered the phone “forgot” to let me know he was on the line, and told me what she said and I told him I didn’t sign anything. He called back, threatened to consult with a lawyer about my rights and suddenly I’m being discharged. This place needs to be evaluated. And possibly shut down or needs new psychiatrists and staff workers.

Krista Harris

I wish I could leave 0 stars. Beautiful on the outside, traumatic experience on the inside. Patients are mistreated. It's hit or miss whether you get basic hygiene amenities. Staff does not provide any information nor do they know how to handle rightfully worked up patients. The "help" they give is generic drivel about "not giving up!" and "you have to learn how to deal with your problems!". One nurse barely speaks English and she is in charge of an hour long group therapy session during which she spouts utter nonsense. The staff are generally unconcerned and many won't look patients in the eye when speaking to them. When I expressed discomfort to my family (via the one phone available for an entire unit) and later staff about older men approaching me in the facility, the case manager (Stephanie) pulled me into a room and scolded me and my family for making a fuss. Most memorable quotes: "Your family doesn't decide when you see the doctor, WE do. YOU don't decide when you see the doctor, WE do" "You didn't look uncomfortable. You looked engaged in the conversation." (victim blaming mentality, really?) This is a money machine. Don't let your loved ones be sent here.

This place was wonderful I was a patient in this facility and to me it was nice relaxing time to myself to calm down and relax the staff was patient to say the least they were respectful the entire time even when other patients got out of hand. This is a place were the troubled can be helped.

James Quinn

Apparently they trap patients against their will.

Lynn Hutchinson

They offered help immediately for my FAMILY MEMBER, THUS SAVING HIS LIFE! LYNN PARENT

One star is not low enough. Stay away from this "facility". The intake staff handle crisis terribly and literally do the opposite that is necessary to ease a person through a traumatic experience. Not that this place is equipped to handle trauma. But you would still think that the case mangers would not try to aggravate episodes that are in progress. Out of all the outpatient facilities in Tampa this has been the rudest and least helpful. The staff is unaware of the breath of treatment options for trauma that are available at other facilities in Tampa. In fact it has causes MORE trauma in that it validates a feeling of helplessness that is associated with anxiety/PTSD episodes and any other mental health crisis. Waste of gas, time and energy going there. If you are going here because they take your insurance, STAY AWAY!

I was 10 times worse when I left than when I came in. I actually heard charge nurses "David" talking out loud about needing to discharge patients because their insurance companies aren't paying them, so they aren't being paid (the staff and "dr.s" that is") Staff repeatedly made jokes out loud about medications and mental illnesses. Oh and the so called psychiatrist were actually arnp's. I just did 26 days in the military C.O.R.E program, it’s a 28-day or more program for substance abuse and mental health for veterans of the U.S. military. I ran into an issue with another patient and was moved to another unit on my 26th day and that move was a HUGE shock as the military unit was COMPLETELY different than the rest of the hospital. Do NOT go to this place unless you’re a veteran seeking help, then this is thee BEST place to go. It’s an AMAZING place, so new and clean I never seen 1 bug. The program was excellent, the staff was nothing but respectful and understanding. I recommend the C.O.R.E program to all veterans.

Someone I know who was a patient there relayed that her prescription meds were denied to be given to her that she's taken for the last 15 years. Instead, they gave her their own IV cocktails which can he high addictive. She was not there for drug addiction, by the way. Psychiatrists and other Doctors were uncaring, demeaning, rude, and generally no help at all. Alot more to say...but it would be a book.

Erin Kirby

Everyone is this facility is heartless! The doctors refuse to speak to family members! Case managers pass you off from one to another so that you have to repeat your story and still not get any assistance! First we spoke to Matilda, who told us to ask for Meghan, no one knew who she was so we then spoke to Lisette who didn't call us back. Next we spoke to Jennifer who also never called back. If you are not prepared to call multiple times a day to speak to multiple people, look elsewhere for help! I would give zero stars if it were an option.

Watch the movie 'The Snake Pit', that place was better than North Tampa. The staff couldn't care less about the patients. You are only allowed visitation twice a week. They threaten to extend your Baker Act if you insist on leaving. They'll hold you prisoner until the insurance won't pay anymore. There are only three units, so people with depression and anxiety are mixed in with dangerous psychotics and people who are essentially vegetables. There was one man in the unit who was incontinent and unable to communicate. He would relieve himself on the floors in other's rooms and the staff could never be bothered to keep track of him. This place is horrible!!

STAY AWAY! I can't tell you how horrible my sister's experience at North Tampa Behavioral Health was -- first they MISDIAGNOSED her and treated her for the WRONG ISSUE (even though we explained at admittance what the problem was), and then after that was fixed they "accidentally" gave her the wrong medication, resulting in two seizures and a trip to the ER and immediate admittance to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital called to confirm what the hell they had done to my sister and said it was a really good thing that we pulled her out when we did! This "treatment facility" needs to be shut down. If you are looking for incompetent, negligent care, this is the place for you. Otherwise, keep yourself and your loved ones far, far away!!

John Agliata

Obviously you're going to end up with a lot of negative reviews when you are an inpatient/outpatient mental health facility. That said, I have overwhelmingly positive things to say about NTBH's outpatient program. I came to its PHP program broken, fragile and at the end of my rope. This was what I felt was my last hope after a year of suffering INTENSE major depression and having battled depression/anxiety for more than 20 years. The people there changed my life. From Tammy at the front desk, who made me feel welcomed and safe from the moment I walked in to Ally and Raveen and Megan and Dr. Hart, I was treated as a PERSON, not a patient file number, not some whacko with a mental illness, but a PERSON who was worthy of being helped. The group sessions were on point and helpful. The one-on-one sessions I had with Ally changed my life. She did more for me in four one-on-one sessions than all the other therapists I've seen for more than two decades. After PHP, I stepped down to IOP, where the focus was more intensive on processing the world around us that we were about to return to. Reisha was amazingly helpful in this, and I felt READY when it came time to graduate. I also was fortunate enough to be a candidate for NTBH's TMS program and received treatment for 36 sessions with Lizzete. She was amazing at making me feel comfortable and caring about my progress. The only area I feel could be improved in this entire outpatient program is a better orientation for new patients on Day One of PHP. It's a very difficult time for the patient in the first place, and there is very little about "What to expect," so you're left to learn about the flow of things from other group members. I would have felt a lot better by having a half hour or less with someone who would tell me "OK, this is what's going to happen on Day 1, this is how lunch is done, this is what a normal day will be like, this is when you'll see Dr. Hart," etc. Overall, NTBH helped give me my life back. They gave me the tools from which I could rebuild myself better than before. That said, from what I saw, you get out of it what you put in. I saw people who didn't appreciate the opportunity and who languished and, not surprisingly, were back in the program again as I finished up my TMS treatments. That's my advice to anyone who takes advantage of this service: Truly take advantage of it! There are great people willing to help you. Let them help you. Pay attention. Participate. Work at it. Work WITH the people who are trying to help you. Use the gym time to unwind... shoot hoops, ride the bikes, walk... don't just sit there. This opportunity could change your life!

Not Great at all..The way things are run are not great in the PHP and IOP programs..therapist are allowing other patients to give feedback and not object to anything..I was paying a 40.00 Co pay and not getting anything out of this unstructured program..plus they never know when the doctor will be in because there is only one doctor running this whole hospital that is terribly understaffed.i wouldn't recommend this place..The therapist are very nice ..but they are just reading off handouts that are easily found on the Internet.

If you care about yourself or your loved ones, DO NOT GO or let your loved one go to this facility. This place is not about helping people, it is about warehousing people for the purposes of collecting insurance. The staff is totally devoid of compassion or the ability to recognize differences in individuals, which should be the focus of mental health treatment. While the need for safety cannot be ignored, the "rules" here are clearly designed for the benefit of the staff, and to keep patients, (regardless of their actual mental state) docile, disoriented and isolated from family and friends who might ask too many questions or "make trouble". And to North Tampa, making trouble means asking questions and standing up for the rights of the patient. If you or someone you love ends up here, learn the law and do not be afraid to stand up for the rights of the patient, even though you will be told that things will be easier if you are "cooperative". But if you have an option, just stay away.

If you are going here because they take your insurance, STAY AWAY!

mark hilleboe

I was 10 times worse when I left than when I came in. I actually heard charge nurses "David" talking out loud about needing to discharge patients because their insurance companies aren't paying them, so they aren't being paid (the staff and "dr.s" that is") Staff repeatedly made jokes out loud about medications and mental illnesses. Oh and the so called psychiatrist were actually arnp's. Kranti Boyapati was my Doctor and I just learned that he's been arrested nearly 10 times in the past 10 years. Most recently for DUI Child Endangerment. (Still employed, you would think he owns the place!) This guy made a diagnosis but I don't agree with it and frankly I'm having a hard time taking anything they told me seriously knowing what I know now. This facility is nothing more than an Insurance holding pen. There is no real treatment going on here. They will keep you for 9-12 days based on how subservient you are. The "nurses" are pathetic but boyapati's mugshots are worse

Amber Klee

So many bad reviewers clearly don't know what a mental health facility in America (Florida in particular) is. It's not what it should be. People expect to go to these places and get extensive care and therapy and that is just not what is done in this country. What is done is you are stabilized and then told to go home after a week. The GOOD ones have GROUP therapy throughout the day and NTBH has that, they are kind, the food is good, you are not made to do anything you don't want to do, when they wake you they are nice rather than screaming at you like other places that treat their patients like criminals (cough cough grace point). You will not get good mental health care in the United States so take what you get and NTBH is honestly the best facility unless you want to spend 100,000 a day at a place you're required to spend months at. Ya'll asking for too much. Vote for better people for office and maybe we'll get the care we need and stop blaming the messenger.

Cynthia Rassmusen

They'very only be open since 11/2013. Care and concern for patients and/or their family members there for the patient is deplorable. Intake should give you what you need at that time they process you. I never received bathroom materials for 23 hours. The food grade is less than that of the military. The nurses get to assisting patients when they are ready. They always are walking around and using their cell phones more then dealing with patients. The building looks great, all new but it's a facade. The reception staff seems to have little answer to questions asked. When trying to speak with the proper people you will never reach them or hear back in reply to your messages. Once you speak with the next person though, they contradict what was said by the last person. Their director of clinical services just quit. They have been running the office without one for over two weeks that I am aware of yet the website still reflects she (Rebecca Schulte) works there. For over $800 dollars a day I can go to facilities in ME. or CA. that are the same price, provide answers, a comfortable living environment and concern for you. I would never recommend them or let someone I care for go there ever again.

Sherry Nelson

They drugged me. They need to be seriously investigated!

This has been the worst experience my granddaughter has had they did not give her meds for over three days and did not see a Dr. She checked herself in. They would not let her leave. Please do not go to in patient stay. Your life may depend on it. The elderly are ignored completely not fed if you can't get to the lunch area on your own. Not enough nurses or should I say paid baby sitter's they don't make sure all are treated with respect and love as they advertised. Don't go to get help its not here.

Jamie McQuillan

Unbelievable. Absolutely a disgrace. I have never been looked in the eye and lied to so much in my life. If you have any dignity stay away. Major power trip by the case worker. The nurses and techs are the only competent people in this facility. If you have a family member and you love them, DON'T SEND THEM HERE!!!!!!!! If you were Baker Acted here contact Citizens Commission on Human Rights

M. F-K

DANGER - STAY AWAY. NO 3 DAY BAKER ACT. YOU WILL BE THERE NO LELSS THAN 6 TO 8 DAYS. They keep beds/unit at OVERCAPACITY and understaffed as they will have new patients in beds before the old patient is even released so the beds are filled to the max at all times. Just go anywhere else but here.

Mesha Olsen

Do not come here for an evaluation. You will be sitting here for hours on end. I've been here since 4:15pm & it's about to be 7pm. When I ask for how much longer they keep telling us " they have baker act patients to deal with first". This is ridiculous. Do not come here.

Denise Romero

Called to see if they accepted my insurance, and they kept insisting on having me come into their facility to do an evaluation. I asked them to verify my insurance (because I cannot afford out of pocket expenses) and they said they accept it and to come in. They did not ask what insurance I had. But apparently they accept it. Also, the gentleman on the phone sounded ghetto, unprofessional, and clearly misinformed or trained improperly. Definitely not setting foot near this facility.

Most people that leave the negative reviews are the people that are the ones that are baker acted and dont want to be there. North Tampa actually is a very good hospital and health care provider are very good and caring. If people actually looked into other facilities they will see what actually bad is. They have very good out paceint and in patient programs. Dont let the bad ratings desieve you.

Carol

DO NOT LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT BE ADMITTED TO THIS FACILITY. This is an admit & release scam, no real help was provided to my mother but they not surprisingly felt she was perfectly fine to be released after the 5 days of guaranteed insurance benefit was up. Once we found out where she had been taken we tried for days to get her out but we kept being passed around in a phone tree with a combination of no one having any answers or being hung up on or being spoken to very rudely by staff. I can only imagine the nightmare it must have been to have had been the one trapped there. When we were finally able to pick my mother up she was rolled out holding a bag of her belongings and told to sign several forms without being told what these papers even were... they were release forms as it turned out but after that we got her into the car & drove away. Neither doctor or case manager or nurse bothered to even take a few minutes to review anything with us. I had to sift through the bag myself to find a medication script which surprise, surprise is way too much medicine for her to be on which explains the zombie like state she was in. This place over medicates the patients to avoid actually trying to help them. It should be criminal what they do as its basically fraud since they market themselves as a treatment facility. If anyone else out there has also had a similar experience with North Tampa Behavioral Health or any other Acadia affiliated center I urge you to not just use social media but to also file formal complaints with the medical & insurance boards.

Jedidiah Dodds

Horrible establishment! They just wait until your insurance says enough then discharge you. Extremely unprofessional! They'll lie and threaten to take you court to keep you there and when you're at a complete breaking point they'll discharge you. We didn't have soap or blankets for 2 days of my 6 day stay. Took my mom here because she was having suicidal thoughts. They admitted her, giving me zero information. I repeatedly called trying to understand what was happening. The staff was all very unprofessional. She was not helped on any level. She stayed for over a week. Was told initially that her insurance would cover everything. I’m still getting bills a year later. It was a truly awful experience for all of us. Please consider somewhere else if you want help for a loved one. Believe the reviews. I’m not an angry patient that was baker acted and spiteful. My mom went in voluntarily. I asked to speak with management repeatedly. I never did get that pleasure. Seems the good reviews all state the core program. Maybe whoever manages that program actually cares.

Dale Sexton

Wife was transferred here and then I was told I could not see her for 2 days. Meanwhile, they never gave her the medicine required to control her depression and Alzheimer's. Do not let your family members go here!!!! This place had the nerve to bill me after I had to hire a lawyer to get my wife set free. This remains the most horrible part of her 4 years with Alzheimer's before she passed. That is sad!

Amy Hoy

This is the worst facility ever. I tried to reach a patient at around 7:30 pm last night, kept being put on hold and no one on the unit answered. I was finally told no calls after 8 pm. I called again today around 12:30pm no answer on the unit. I gave the benefit of the doubt, I tried calling again and still no answer on the unit! I called again and was hung up on. I called a final time asking to speak with a supervisor and was told she will call me back at 3pm. Still no call and all i wanted was an update! I am beyou d over this place! BEWARE DO NOT TAKE FAMILY HERE!!!!!! Update- I just spoke with the supervisor Amy. She is a peach! I explained the issues and instead of dealing with them her self she wanted to pass me off to someone else! I explained that I would not be transferred and she decided to start telling me that she is listening and trying to help! This facility is clear run by ignorant people! I told her that i was trying my hardest to be nice but if I had to be transferred so was not going to be pleasant to speak with! She was condescending in the way she spoke with me and clearly of no help! 2nd Update- Apparently they haven't had hot showers in the last 2 days and the facility doesn't know why and when it will be fixed. 3rd update- So my family member did not have hot water for a total of 6 days while there. The intake Dr. gave him medication which made him higher than a kite, and no one cared to notice!!!!! I also dropped off 3 copies of FMLA paper work in the span of a week and was told it would not be filled out by the inpatient dr , and the outpatient doctor will not fill it out until 08/22/2017 mins you he was in inpatient for 11 days. I have paid these people $2,290 total and no paper work is being filled out! We will be contacting the insurance company and demanding they not pay for anything and asking for a complete refund! This place is a damn joke! They are only here to take your money and not fill out the FMLA paper work! So NTB if you want to be paid from a private insurance maybe don't screw up so much!

Alex the discharge planner for the facility is not properly discharging patients. What he is doing is in violation of AHCA regulations. He essentially dumps the patients to other facilities. Please do not send your love ones here.

David Fickey

What a joke, took my wife in with suicidal thoughts. 5 hours later, still sitting in waiting room . This place is useless. Would not bring a stray dog there for help thanks for nothing

Autumn Charles

Well the admission process took two hours. Some people wait more then 5 hours. Some peoplr even slrpt in the waiting room. They doctor never told me I was getting discharged. Just told the staff. Also I was have a bad reaction to a med. And still suicidal. They said the reason I had to be discharged was because I wouldn't let the doctor put on more medication. Lmfao. They do refuse your meds for like a day or two days that's not a lie. You have to see the psyciasrist/medical doctor first.which can dangerous. Otherwise the staff are nice. Food good.

Eileen Agront

I love this place it save my life

Andrew Gott

Someone could die before they are helped sitting in their waiting room… Trust the rest of the reviews. This place is not worth it… UNPROFESSIONAL!

Nathaniel Hillis

They lock people up and throw away the key, all for cash. Take your loved ones somewhere else!

Poo'dee

Definitely not setting foot near this facility.

michelle fazzina

very sad place to be

Tama Sue

Very nice place they over feed u...

Daniel Jason

Left people locked up with no indication of release... abuse rampant

Erik096

Worst experience of my life. Stay away of possible

Bad staff call system bad cominication with you love one they really don't care

Ginny Puckett

My son finally got the help he needed. After a year of battling with other facilities, NTBH finally diagnosed him properly and assigned the correct medication.

Trinity Church
