I'm am so grateful to have found Next Step Village. Here, I am learning every day how to become a productive and positive member of society. To value myself. Through twelve step based programming and out patient therapy I am beginning to live a fulfilled life. The staff here has become the family I've longed for most of my life. I feel at home here. Next Step Village saved my life and continues to do so every day.

I've been at nsv for over a year now. It is completely transformed and changed my life for the better. I couldn't have done it without Troy, Daphne, Mike, Shawna, and Chris and Clint and mrs B. And all the other BHTs have been so helpful and always have been there for me. So thankful and grateful I found this place I can call home! You guys will never know how much you have changed my life for the better! Thank you and much love Austin

I honestly could not have remained sober without the guidance and support of the staff at Next Step Village. It’s a strong program with the structure and accountability that we in addiction need. At every corner, I had a fellowship in NSV to help guide me through my recovery process. I recommend NSV as the essential next step after rehab. I am now one year clean and have attained the ability to move into my own home with the confidence and strength to remain clean. This is a wonderful place! The important thing is to stay within their support circle for as long as one can. I have an amazing life now :)

Great facility, and caring staff!

I came to next step village broken and defeated. I lived there for 18 months, if it wasn’t for Next Step Village I definitely wouldn’t have had the foundation for the recovery I have now. It provided me with the structure I needed to learn how to live a life clean and sober. A life this addict had never dreamt possible. Things that I learned their helped me become an acceptable responsible and productive member of society. I was able to to build amazing relationships with the staff there as well. I had an amazing role model to look up to, the female house manager Shawna. The relationship that I had with here was a changing expierance, she was able to build me up when I was broken, help me thru the hard times, and share her experience strength and hope with me. Even the male house manager Mike was there even just to listen to Bruce Springsteen to decompress. I truly believe without this place I wouldn’t have the life I have today. The program coordinator was Raquel was always so easy to talk with; and I could not have asked for a better director. Troy always had an open door and was alway there to listen and suggest solutions to the problems I faced. Millie B.

I made the decision to live at Next Step Village upon discharge from a detox/rehabilitation center. The name really says a lot for the facility as it is a great "next step". If you are serious about recovery, the environment at NSV is a great fit. The staff is there to help in any and everyway possible. They care about each and every resident immensely. They have seen it all and if you keep an open mind, each and every one of them has valuable lessons and friendship they are very willing to offer. I can't begin to say enough praises about the director of the facility. He is a true leader that is one of the MOST passionate and genuine people I have had the pleasure of having in my recovery. His willingness to help others is at his core! I have much gratitude for my time, experience and lessons learned from living at NSV. I recommend NSV to anyone who is serious about their recovery and having some help learning how to live a better life.

Initially weary of any “sober living” or “half way house” I found that the accommodations at this facility far exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly and professional, the rooms are clean and spacious, and there are many amenities to be enjoyed while on the grounds. Plus, transportation is provided to meetings, group sessions, and doctor appointments. I highly recommend this facility to others.

Next step village changed my life drastically. Thanks to this place I found a great love for myself, that I never thought possible. I give a great thanks especially to the staff, for all of their care and compassion towards me. Having the love and support I needed, made it possible.

Ive been told on more than one occasion, that when i talk about NSV, I sound like an advertisement. And its true; If you told me a year ago that I would be so fond of a structured sober living home- I would have doubted you, wholeheartedly. Just yesterday, I shocked myself when someone asked me "How's it going at NSV?" and I replied with a genuine "Its Great!"; complete with ridiculously sincere big ol' grin on my face. Honestly, its embarrassing how truly happy I am here. Next Step Village has given me the tools to enjoy life again without the use of drugs or alcohol. I arrived at NSV skeptical & hesitant of sharing a home with 40+ other people in the pursuit of sobriety; I couldn't be more pleased with the physical, mental & emotional stability I've found at my NSV home. I could go on about how beautiful the grounds are- the main housing offers sweeping views of the lake its situated on. When my brother & sister visited me on separate occasions (the same siblings I hadn't talked to for close to 2 years prior to arriving on the Maitland campus), one of the first things they both mentioned was "This place is soo much nicer than the images on their website!". There are plenty of easy ways to socialize; there's a pool, volleyball/basketball areas & clubhouse that provides a ping pong & pool table, projector room & computer area. Despite the diverse age & backgrounds of my all housemates, I feel everyone treats each other with respect & care. The intensive outpatient group therapy that is enforced in able to reside here, has helped create a bond with these friends. There is consistently someone around to talk to- client or staff. I always feel safe in addressing my concerns & I continue to be brutally honest with my house managers, Shawna & Erica. I never feel judged by staff which has allowed me to become a more humble, truthful person to myself. They treat me with respect & have earned the same reverence from me. It sounds like such a cliche to say how tremendously grateful I am to have my life back & what a major role NSV continues to have in my recovery. Living here has created opportunities in my life I never thought were possible. Who knew in 7 months I could from 'crashing' on floors of drug dealers/ jails & hospital ICUs to studying for my higher education entrance level exams, working a fun job & applying to graduate schools. I have never had so much hope for the future & Next Step Village has given me the stability to make it all possible.

I came to Next Step Village after going to The Recovery Village. I have to say my experience has been wonderful. That staff are awesome, very helpful and supportive. It has helped me regain structure in my life, and is setting me up for success in the future. I would recommend this place to anyone.

As parents, we did a great deal of research to find the best program for our daughter with co-occurring disorders. We knew that there are several sober living options, but not where mental health issues are primary. While at the end of the day most programs tend to focus on the business aspect of treatment, Troy the Director at NSV is different. He was very welcoming and open to making NSV’s program flexible in order to allow our daughter to receive the best services for her specific needs. She was able to attend and continue her mental health program during the day (they even helped to transport her to/from) and she attended meetings and lived at NSV. There are rules to follow, but they are appropriate and not over the top, which allows the residents to have the structure necessary during recovery, but also control to make some of their own choices and decisions. The facility itself is very nice; situated on a lake. The staff are real people who are very invested in helping the residents stay healthy, clean and sober. Even after she left the program, they let us and our daughter know that she is welcome to come back to say hello or for additional support at any time. They show genuine concern for the people in their program; they are not just there to “collect rent”. We had a very good experience with the staff, Director and program itself at NSV. We appreciate all that you have done for her and our family!

I truly got more than I bargained for with this program. I came thinking I'm going to get off drugs and alcohol I came here and realized it was deeper than that. It was my own personal things I never dealt with. This program the structure and most importantly the love they share here is what makes it different than others. U have to put in the effort but they are always here for you. I've had talks with all of them and they have never turned me away. They always go above and beyond to help any individual. Troy Mike Shauna clynt Daphne mrs B and Chris and even Veronica who seemingly plays a small token helped me when I needed it the most just by listening and letting me vent. They all here are great people and I came with a mindset to get clean and left with a passion for sobriety and the gift of freedom. Next step village in Maitland has helped me tremendously and though I'm gone they still answer the phone if I have to talk to them. Thanks so much for everything forever grateful for your support

A loved one of me said this place was no good. A lot of cleaning. Messy. Talked to meanly. Unconstitutional not good

The last thing I thought I would be doing at 60 years old was going into a residential treatment program for my alcoholism- but that is exactly what happened to me. After a two month stay in the Intense Outpatient program I feel AMAZING and CONFIDENT that I will not drink again. The facility is clean and the staff so caring and talented in what they do. I felt completely at home after a few days of learning the "routine" and feel very blessed to have spent time there. i have already been asked about my experience at Next Step Village by some members of my AA group and I recommended it with no reservations because it was HUGE for me to get me over the hump. They know how to treat you and get you down the right path IF YOU WANT IT. Great place......

Having tried the road to recovery and taken the wrong path more than once it was nice to have found Next Step Village and the services Advanced Recovery had to offer. The staff was friendly and well trained in dual diagnosis which is exactly what I needed. The living accommodations were up to par and offered a variety of employment opportunities nearby to assist me in getting on my feet. Having lived at both the Male Sober House in Eustis, FL and coming to Next Step Village in Maitland I didn’t know what to expect but I was pleased that my recovery always came first even when helping me deal with my issues going on back home. I am truly grateful for the staff helping me realize that sobriety is and option in my life even during the hardest times. I recommend Advanced Recovery and praise these sober living facilities for maintaining the highest standard in Central Florida I have yet to hear of. If you or a loved one are seeking treatment Advanced Recovery should most definitely be considered an option.

Lived here six months and appreciated the professionalism of the staff. Clint who works as a Behavioral Health Tech was especially supportive and non-judgmental and I thank him for his shared experience and positivity. Also the Director, Troy, is a tremendous asset for his willingness to help residents in any way he can. Every interaction with him was positive and productive. Overall I highly recommend this facility to anyone seriously committed to improving their life.

Zachary Thompson

NSV is very much responsible for me learning how to live clean. The structure and accountability provided early in my recovery was exactly what I needed. I made life long friends there and learned how to live like a responsible adult.the staff was great, but particularly Shawna and Paul were always there to help however they possibly could. I lived there for a year and I highly recommend it.

Chris Ferrante

Many thanks to the staff here, those to be named specifically below. But first, I had never considered sober living in my past treatments. After staying at the Next Step Village, I wish I'd had done so sooner. My experience at The Recovery Village and then Next Step have both set me up for what I think is the best recovery possible. I could go on and on about why I feel this way, but honestly the most important component of any treatment and after-care treatment program (such as NSV - sober living) to me is the passion that staff exude to their clients. I experienced nothing less that professionalism, and frankly even a personal connection on many occasions to their commitment of providing the absolute best opportunity for their client's long-term, successful recoveries. I'd like to thank Troy, Daphne, Mike, Ms. B (I'll miss you sooo very much :)), and last but certainly not least, Shawna. I truly received more than I expected and feel confident in the foundation you all have helped me build for this next chapter in life. With gratitude - Chris F.

I have resided at Next Step Village since October 16, 2018. This place in combination with their rehab ORC and TRV have helped to put me in a place mentally that I have not been in for a decade. Each day my life has been progressing. I want to thank Troy, Daphne, Mike, Shawna, Miss B, Clint and everyone there who put their all into keeping NSV afloat.

Zachary Graves

This place is amazing. It’s litteraly the only place I’ve been that has actually helped me progress in being a member of society. The staff here are very kind and understanding. I feel safe and eager to be a better version of myself. I’m constantly around people with hope experience and strength. I’ve found a family outside my family. The director Troy is very kind and is always trying to make sure I’m doing good. He always has a hear for me if I ever need it. He doesn’t judge and truly wants what’s best for me. Thank you NSV.

Chris

I went here after going to The Recovery Village and it was awesome. Yeah there are rules but all of those were there to help me readjust back to living a normal life. They helped me build structure in my life so that when I moved out I was set up for success. The staff was awesome too.

Erik Wedsmark

I lived here from March until August of 2016 following a stay at The Recovery Village. Along with being a beautiful home with all the amenities one could need, I appreciated the staff the greatly, and thank them for being a vital part of my life long recovery. The care and quality work given by the therapists and staff helped me to be able to handle life on life’s terms, and integrate into a life of sobriety. Furthermore, I still make visits to NSV to catch up with long time friends working here, and to support the place and people to whom I feel deeply indebted to and eternally grateful for.

As parents of someone who struggled to be successful in alcoholism recovery, Next Step Village, it’s Director-Troy, and the many dedicated Behavioral Therapists, create an environment of accountability and support with a myriad of resources to make life-long recovery a real possibility. As parents, in the last 4 months since our loved one has been a NSV resident, we haven’t felt the anguishing stomach-wrenching helplessness as we watched our loved one deal with addiction. We pray not only for our loved one’s successful life-long recovery but every resident who is currently there or who has been there. God bless the work this Recovery Center does! And God bless the staff who really are angels in helping the residents reach their long term sobriety. Our society needs so many more of these fine facilities.

I sent my significant other here a month ago after a brief stay at home and a relapse after completing the program at Recovery Village in Umatilla. Within two weeks of his moving into the coed sober living house he’s “in a relationship” with another resident there. Two weeks into sobriety starting a relationship with someone else also in early recovery goes against the basic principles of recovery. Makes me question this facility and this program if the therapists/counselors in IOP and group are turning a blind eye to this dangerous situation.

Kyle Langlois

I lived at Next Step Village for 7 months. When I left everyone on the staff felt like family and always will be. I can't say enough about them. They were always there to support and guide me through the process. Living there helped me gain the tools I needed to succeed!

First off I wanna say next step village was the most amazing experience I have ever had being a resident. The program saved my life. The house it self is very nice. The staff goes above and beyond the normal standards. The residents are all so welcoming. Troy who’s is the program director is absolutely amazing. Mike was my house manager. And that deserves a raise. He doses such a outstanding job. All the stafff does a great job. I was their for 6 months. This place toght me a lot. It saved my life. I highly recommend this place for anyone fight with addiction to start transitioning in to normal everyday lives

Jaime Martinez

Sent my significant other here a month ago. He got in a “relationship” two weeks in with another there at the coed facility. Doesn’t this go against the basic principle in recovery of no new relationships in the first year? Makes me question the set up of this facility. Thankfully he’s sober but this is concerning to say the least for the health of his sobriety.

Kenzie Ruback

This sober living is outstanding, one of the BEST places i have been. The staff is absolutely amazing and they will do everything to make sure you are comfortable and your needs are met.

Will Woodbery

Next Step Village is an amazing sober living if you're looking to stay clean and sober. The staff is amazing too. I wouldn't have stayed clean as long as I had if it wasn't for this place. Shawna, Derek, Erica, all of them helped me until the day that I left .They want the best for you and they hold you accountable for everything. I always recommend this facility to anyone looking for a transitional facility after leaving treatment. Thank you to all staff who helped me when I was struggling. Everything y'all taught me and shared with me stuck with me until I was ready to truly get help and now it's helping me in everyday situations.

I am so grateful to Next Step Village in Maitland for the care and guidance they have provided my son; to hear him sound positive again about life, and know he is putting his recovery first finally is the most wonderful thing in the world. Even though his work is taking him away for a few months he fully intends to return to Next Step when finished - this speaks volumes.

Justin Swanson

NSV helped me with the transition from rehab to living the dream of doing one day at a time. This place saved my life and the staff was amazing. Especially Troy, Mike and Shawna. Thanks for everything.

I am an alcoholic who lived at NSV from December of 2016 until January of 2018. My experience at NSV was positive and I left NSV feeling confident in my ability to “take the next step” in my recovery journey. The staff created an environment for me to experience growth and to find a way to get my life in order. I had to be open to trying a new way of life, willing to do a considerable amount of introspection and humble enough to admit that I didn’t have the answers. Yes, the rules are juvenile and tedious. I was frustrated and annoyed. Once I recognized that my attitude, not my circumstances had to change everything fell into place. I put my recovery above EVERYTHING (to include money, men and my wants). I got a sponsor WORKED THE STEPS, went to the therapy appointments, got a part time job, enrolled in cosmetology school, did the chores, woke up for meditation and was home for curfew. With the strength of a power greater than myself, the help of the supportive and encouraging staff, and the sacrifice of my old way of thinking I built a strong foundation for my new life. I left NSV having completed the steps, sponsoring a handful of ladies, with over a year of sobriety, a network of strong sober friends and living an absolute fairytale. ALL because I lived in a safe environment, had the support of the staff and was willing and humble.

The Next Step Village is a great place to transition from treatment to getting back to life. The program is well run and sets you up for success on the bexn phase of your journey in Recovery. I came to Next Step Village a broken person, I had just spent 41 days at Orlando Recovery Center but I still needed so much more help. NSV gave me the structure I needed to start living life like the the average person. Simple rules that may seem overwhelming at first made me a responsible person. The supportive staff and house managers were always there when I needed to talk and most of them are in recovery themselves and could relate to whatever I was going through. I left with strength and encouragement to face the world and the next chapter in my life. I owe God and Next Step Village my life and I recommend this program to anyone struggling with addiction who needs help getting there life back.

Bryan

I am grateful for Next Step Village. It has been a great place for me to be to sustain my recovery. The accountability living there affords me freedom to get my life in order and also a safe place to be when times get a little rough. I’m thankful to staff who have been nothing less than kind and available when I need some help. I’m especially thankful to Troy who has gone above and beyond to help me anyway he can. Next Step Village is a great place to stay clean I would recommend this place to anyone.
