First doc who brought hope that my life can change for the better, from the first visit. Exceptionally intuitive and knowable. Speaks in simple terms, really understands and cares. Takes time to thing and discusses options Limitation- running 5 to 10 mins. late but this is much less than other doctors and gives a strong sense that will do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of it.

I wish I could give negative stars. I was referred to this doctor by my primary. I went online to schedule an appointment and said I can only do Tuesdays or Thursdays. I was scheduled on a Wednesday. Not a big deal....so I call to reschedule it. The guy that answered the phone was so rude and put me on hold for 45 minutes. He never came back so I had to hang up. I get a call to confirm my appointment and I tell the same guy the same thing. He just got quiet and didn’t even say I’m sorry that’s not how this office is.he just cancelled my appointment and hung up. I work at a doctors office and that is unacceptable. Your office staff need to be more considerate of who they are talking to. You deal with mental health and treating a patient that way is horrible. What if someone goes off and kills themselves because of that. I will never call this office back to reschedule. I’d rather just find a bum on the street to handle my bipolar disorder!

After being a patient of Dr. Arlene Martinez-Delio for over a year (only met her once), I was told that their office policy was not to accept my insurance because I purchased it through the marketplace. Florida Blue - BlueCare. This is absurd!!! I really didn't know why I continued to go to her because her office schedules 20 people for a 1:00 pm appointment and I end up waiting an hour or more. It's like cattle at slaughter. She's just a pill pushing moron that is all about her bottomline. I should have known that she was a incompetent pill mill doctor who shouldn't be in pratice when I was told that all copays and office visits must be paid in cash.

The front desk picks up the phone only on occasion, half the time I call during regular business hours I get sent to voicemail after 2 or 3 rings. Additionally, out of my 3 appointments, twice the recommended medication has made me ill making me question the legitimacy of the actual office itself. The office is unorganized and unprofessional.

I made an appointment specifically with the Dr and once I got there, not only that they switch me to the np , but they made me wait for 2 hours without any explanation. I was a patient of Dr. Martinez for 8 months. I DO NOT RECOMMEND her as your psychiatrist. In all my life I've never met a doctor who was more worried about the bottom line than Mrs. Martinez. My current doc spends time and genuinely listens to what some of us in this world find a hard time dealing with. I, along with the other patients having to wait 40-50 minutes for a 5 minute conversation, believe she doesn't give a damn what distress or misery brought you to her smelly waiting room and tacky decorated office. She, along with her RN help will zoom through your problems without a care in the world. Dr. Martinez is uncaring, heartless and worst of all a healer in it for the money. There are plenty of qualified Psychiatrists in Tampa, Florida who are genuine and actually quite good at what they practice. Dr. Martinez is anything but that. Please do yourself a favor and continue googling and calling.

If your looking for a one stop prescription supply store this is your place. If your wanting genuine care I suggest you seek help elsewhere. My new patient visit was less than 20 minutes long and she asked me what medication I wanted and what dosage. Maybe it's just me but I thought that was what she was for. I didn't go to medical school. I don't know what prescription I need nor the dosage. I'm sure she charged my insurance for a visit longer than 20 minutes. And if you need her after hours you have to pay extra money to contact her through a website. Ha. This place is a joke they just collect money and dish out meds.

I would give zero stars if I could. It is a nightmare trying to get a hold of someone in this office. It’s been a problem before but now just too much. I called at least 30 times over a week period before I had to physically go to the office to get a question answered. Leaving messages, requesting appointments online, nothing was answered. After going to the office, waiting an hour just to get my issue resolved, now trying to fill my prescriptions there is a problem from what the Dr wrote and they can’t fill until they hear back from her. And it’s a Friday afternoon... so I’m going even longer without medications that are supposed to be taken daily. Can’t wait to find a new office. Edit: I keep getting notifications that this review is being read, so I thought I would add more info if it helps. If you choose to go here, make sure you review your medication doses carefully. The medication issue per my pharmacy (when I originally wrote the review) was that the Dr. had written a prescription that was higher than the legal maximum daily dose and they were not legally permitted to fill it. It was double my normal dose. That’s why they had to hear back from her before filling. Also after I posted this review, I received a letter in the mail that Dr. Martinez could no longer see me as a patient and that 30 days from the date of the letter she would no longer be providing care. The date on the letter was around 2 weeks before the date stamp on the envelope, showing when it was actually mailed. I found a great new psychiatry office. When I was at Dr. Martinez’ office I was told that my specific medications required monthly visits, but at this new office I am required only every 3 months for the same medication and dosage... so I have to wonder why Dr. Martinez’ office requires three times as many visits and Co-pays as my current office- for the exact same treatment plan.

Dr. Martinez is the most caring Psychiatrist we had. Our Dad was Bi-Polar and we worked with many Doctors over 50 years. Dr. Martinez was always on time and our Dad trusted her the most. We were so grateful for her care. The last few years were his happiest because of Dr. Martinez. He was able to work and have a happy family. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts. He passed very happily at an old age of 81 and he was able to work till the day his heart stopped. He was at peace and so is our family. He had many health problems and she would check his blood and keep on top of everything. We think she is very wise and experienced. She is very well respected in the community.

My first appointment was amazing. I had my paperwork filled out and brought it with me and the staff was very nice. They were friendly and knew what they were doing. I met with Cheryl and she took the time to listen and created a plan going forward. She was very knowledgeable, understanding and offered alternative treatment options that I really like. I am so glad I found this doctor and they were able to get me in. I waited maybe 15 min because I got there early and got right in. I wasn’t rushed through my appointment either. Amazing doctor and team. Very good first experience. I think I’ve finally found my place. Salad!

This woman is in it for $$$ not to provide patient care. Do not go here! I had been going for years and have never seen, heard from, or met this Dr. Martinez but when I showed up for a scheduled appointment I was told I could not see the aprn because I had a no call/no show fee from over a year ago which I dispute especially when the ignorant office manager tried to charge me $160 when my co pay is $80. When i demanded to speak to someone else she called this Dr. Martinez and after more than 10 minutes I was told if I didn’t pay the additional fee I would not be seen. I am a patient being treated for anxiety and this is what this Dr is concerning herself with...some BS fee??? If you are looking for patient centric care go somewhere else! And read the responses they give to the negative reviews. Every single one either makes an excuse or blames the patient! Review after review regarding how inept the staff is but it’s the fault of those patients?! It’s probably the staff posting the responses! Do not go here for mental health treatment!

I went to Arlene Martinez for 7 years, Arlene herself is consistent and reliable although unfortunately her staff has become negligent, neglectful, abusive and unprofessional in their handling of patients and potential clients and is neglectful, inconsiderate to the point of abusing the mentally needy with no sense of ethics. I am reporting them to the APA and taking this office to court and reporting them to the American Psychiatric Association and American Medical Association to protect the community from their unethical conduct. I am not sure Ms Martinez is aware of the unethical conduct at her front desk.

I came in for medication management after my suicide attempt, and she kept saying that I wasn’t a “normal patient” because I was suicidal. After looking at my history and after I told her I’d been suicidal for 5 years before my first attempt she asked me why I didn’t try sooner... She held back on giving me new medication because, and I quote, “I don’t want you to try to kill yourself,” and laughed after saying it. After seeing my history of overdose, she told me “if you want to kill yourself, you can kill yourself, it doesn’t matter what pills you take.” She also said if I attempt she can’t treat me because she “needs to treat patients she can trust” and laughed while saying “I can’t have you kill yourself under my care!” She was terribly insensitive and honestly should probably have her license revoked. If you’re just needing a psychiatrist for depression and anxiety, then maybe she’d be good for you. But if you deal with suicidal ideation, psychosis, any of the, quote, “scary things,” then I’d find another psychiatrist. EDIT: after the (incredibly invalidating) reply was posted below, my appointment was cancelled by Dr Martinez

My 19 y.o. nephew suffers from schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder. He has been in several behavioral hospitals, emergency rooms, has seen several psychologists and psychiatrists. Dr. Martinez was the ONLY doctor who really took the time to understand Jason as a human being who was suffering. She listened and cared. It can be frustrating to watch someone with a mental illness go through the revolving door of the mental health system here in Tampa. When speaking with Dr. Martinez I found that she was well educated, experienced, compassionate, empathetic, and truly wants the best outcome for her patients. She is a real gem as a human being and a doctor!

I cannot believe how rude people can be at times. Dr. Martinez is a caring individual, unlike any other psychiatrists I or friends have consulted. In fact I always hesitated going to a psychiatrist as I've experienced negative interaction with all I've seen in the past. I feel grateful to have the opportunity to speak to some one who genuinely cares. There are not many doctors in the area who go out of their way to help. For those who have had to wait a little longer than what your scheduled appointment was, have you ever thought that maybe there was a patient before you who might be going through something worse? She treats her patients with enormous respect and dignity and tries to help as many people as possible. She is a great doctor and I would recommend her to anyone.

This Dr came into the office while she was recovering from surgery to help me. I can't say enough about someone that is so self sacrificing to help me. I was not her patient until the nurse left and that was a blessing in disguise. The Dr was finally able to help me after seeing the nurse for several visits with no success. I have been coming to this office for several years and received treatment from the wonderful Amanda Costello. She recently left the office and I needed to get in to see a doctor for refills. I was seen by Dr. Arlene Martinez who was super unhelpful. Their front desk staff would not tell me what office she moved to when I asked, so I had to look online myself. Once I found her new office I had them send over a patient release form for my medical records. It was verified that is was delivered and when I called Dr. Martinez's office the front desk was extremely rude and difficult. They denied receiving the form so I drove to the office myself with my signed release form in hand. When I arrived at the office I was "greeted" by the front desk with frowns and eye rolls. They told me they did not have to legally release my records for 30 days. When I asked them to make a copy of my paperwork and give it to me, they were then again extremely rude. Would not recommend this office to anyone. For a business that deals with patients who have some sort of mental health issues, they do not know how to treat people. I will not be returning to this office.

I happen to see many Doctors, for I have a couple of conditions. When I go in to see Dr. Martinez she actually takes her time and really listens to you. It’s almost as if you’re going in to speak with a family member. I would say she is like having a very close family member or that life time friend you have grown to trust over the years. There is a high level of concern and caring that comes from this doctor that is on a level unmatched by any other practitioner. Today was my first ever visit with Dr. Arlene Martinez. I currently have an amazing doctor (highly recommend him; Dr. Gerardo Sison), but I just live and work too far from him, so I considered switching to Dr. Martinez for practicality purposes. After being almost an hour late to our appointment, she continued to talk down to me, interrupt me, talk over me, and basically never listen to me. I'm honestly convinced that she still doesn't understand why I even visited her, since she clearly did not comprehend what I had been trying to tell her repeatedly. The entire first visit took 15 minutes; how can that possibly be effective? She spent more time talking to the drug sales rep and her friends about going to a party than actually listening to me. I actually refused to set up a follow up appointment, as I will never set foot in her office again. Be warned that her office's policy is to pre-pay before seeing the doctor. Also, I've seen her review her own practice on Google with a 5 star rating, claiming that negative reviews came from drug seekers that didn't get what they want. This is simply false; first of all, I specifically told her that I do not need any drugs, yet I still got treated like some second class peasant. If you read other negative reviews, you will realize that this is a recurring pattern with Dr. Arlene Martinez. I highly recommend seeing someone else, regardless of cost. I have never in my life gone out of my way to tell people *not* to see a doctor. This is a first.

I was treated by many psyquiatrist thru all this years, having so many downfalls for not having the right treatment that worked for me. I finally found one Dr. that really got me where I want it to be emotionally. Not only she found the right treatment for me. I love the doctors but the staff refuses to answer the phone or give the doctor my messages. I have been trying to get in contact with my doctor for 3 weeks now but every time I call the phone is out immeditialy to voicemail or they put me on hold and never come back. The receptionist staff needs to realize this is mental health facility and not an operating line where you pick and choose who you talk to.

After waiting for a long period of time to find out the reason why my husband has been feeling the way he has been feeling, I finally found a Psychiatrist that spoke both English and Spanish but neither I knew that he was going to have the worst experience of his life, he went to the office and was only seen by a Nurse Practitioner for just 5 minutes, he was only asked the questions that he filled out on the paperwork that he had to bring; nothing else, they do not care about the mental health of their patients, they already had a prescription written out, and they charged him over $100 plus what they charge the insurance. You are a doctors office at least have the decency to treat and listen to your patients like they deserve, they go to your office to get help not to get charged over $100 plus what the insurance pays just for a prescription that you already had written.

Our office strives in providing excellent patient care, however, some patients may have had a "negative" experience when the Doctor won't prescribe controlled medicines if they are not clinically indicated. Please be advised that most of these "negative" reviews have been written by people that have not been compliant with the medical treatment advised to them.

This place is a JOKE. Front office staff is two, young rude girls. Still, I continued to give it a chance. Then, they charged $30 to fill out a physicians authorization form for my insurance company to approve a medication and it took them over a month to send it. I made many phone calls to the insurance company and finally had someone call them and ask them if they sent it and one of the girls told him that they hadn't sent it in yet. I had to go in there and ask for a fax confirmation to make sure they sent it. Funny how the insurance company received it that day. They were lying to me about it for a month! Today was the last straw. I had a appointment this morning (on a Monday) but I woke up sick with a bad cold. I called before they even opened and left a message to let them know I wouldn't make it. One of the girls from the front desk called me to tell me that if I didn't come in there would be a cancellation fee regardless if I was sick or not. Then, she asked me if I had a doctors note. Really? It's a cold. There's nothing a doctor can do but II'm not feeling up to going out and contaminating other people. And I never met Dr. Martinez. I saw a nurse practitioner, who was very pleasant and the only reason why they even deserve one star. Unprofessional and uncaring. A JOKE.

I keep coming back because I don't want to pay another 300$ deductible to visit a new doctor. She is consistently late. My appointments, if scheduled at 11, won't be seen till 12. It has been the last three visits. I feel rushed sometimes when speaking to her, it seems as if she's trying to anticipate what I am going through and going to say and speaks over me. She's a nice lady but the over booking is ridiculous. If you make an appointment be prepared to wait an hour after your scheduled apt. I value my time and she disrespects it. I will be looking for a new doctor to better care for my needs.
