REVIEWS OF Antonio Cubano MD PA IN Florida

Richard Adjemian

Don't believe these negative reviews, I drive from Daytona to Lake Mary just to see this Dr. I have never had a problem, no long wait, and staff is always courteous. Very knowledgeable Dr. in my opinion.

A. Denizen

HORRENDOUS office staff. The doctors are fine, but the staff are just awful. Many reviews called them rude and unprofessional, and this is so true. The manager is impossible to talk to. The staff guard her like she is the Queen. They charged me an office visit for when my SO had to go to the emergency room and refused to let me speak with her. Also, they lie routinely about the new Florida controlled substances law and say you're on one when you're not so that they can refuse to fill scripts over the phone. They urine test everyone with the law as an excuse in order to collect cash from all patients (insurance almost never covers this), when only RANDOM urine tests are called for from people who are on CONTROLLED substances. But if you ask them about this, they will lie. It's actually pretty sad--they could just say, it's office policy and be done with it, but no, they misrepresent the nature of the drug you are on and what the law says. I went off my meds cold turkey for almost two weeks just so I could change from this to an office that doesn't lie to you in order to collect every last penny. That's how much I dislike this place. AVOID if you possibly can.

The staff and doctors are very knowledgeable and have helped me through difficult times. I highly recommend this practice for psychiatric treatment. Dr. Cubano and Rosalie are very compassionate and work with you to get the best results for your condition.

Heather Miranda

The absolute worst! Front staff is incredibly rude & incompetent. They are only concerned with money & not patient care at all! They do not bill insurances correctly, they do not make proper documentation in files, they do not communicate with the providers & they have ZERO compassion for the patients...the minor patients! They tried to double charge me on my co-pay & refused to let me speak to the ARNP. I never even met Dr. Cubano! There are other providers/physician assistants/ARNP there but you won’t see that on his page or his door or any cards in the front. Terrible TERRIBLE practice! Rosalie was very nice & the only reason I took my child back. However the way the office is ran, it’s not worth it.

This doctor does not care for his patients at all. I have 2 young children that have ADHD. We have new insurance and this doctor charges a crazy office visit charge. With insurance $160 per kid for 10 minutes of his attention. Then after prescribing medication he and his staff would not even look at another medication after I found our the script was $268.00 per kid per month. They tell oh you have to come back in to see the doctor for him to prescribe something. This office is only about making money, does not care for their patients, and I almost felt like it was a pill mill doctor where they were only there to help people get pills that are addicted. No customer service and no care for their patients. BE WARNED if you really need care this is NOT the doctor to see. Very unprofessional as well.

I have been going to this office for over a year and find the office staff to be very helpful and pleasant. They care about the patients and do a good job making sure all my paperwork is taken care of so I don’t have to worry about it. They are very efficient. The entire staff there takes very good care of me. I couldn’t find a better nurse practitioner! I’ve been using mental health facilities for over 20 years and can say that this is one of the finest ones I’ve used. When I first started going there I was deeply depressed and one year later I’m feeling so much better. They have helped me manage my depression and anxiety.

They are focused on money. Anything they can do to bill an extra service or charge you for basic office procedures. They gave my husband a long-term addictive medicine that required him to go into rehab for 5 weeks just to come off of it. Do not trust.

Erin Norman

Rosalie is great. The staff is awful. They do not understand insurance and what out of network means. The staff lacks professionalism in the way the talk to patients. There is a lack of communication from the front staff to any patient on any changes with billing or changing labs. I would not recommend this office unless you have an unlimited supply of patience.

Corey Jamison

Great doctors, both Dr Cubano and Dr Rosalie. I never wait too long to be seen, the front desk is kind. If they don't answer my phone call I leave a message they always call back. Please don't go off the negative reviews and give this Doctor a chance they are already turning my life around, just one bad experience doesn't mean every time will be bad.

I’ve struggled for four years trying to find a dependable, knowledgeable and professional mental health team. Rosalie and her staff have fulfilled that need. Yes, there is a urinalysis that is completed prior to every visit. That is to ensure that you’re being compliant and honest. If you have nothing to hide, then that shouldn’t be an issue. Yes, sometimes you have to wait beyond your scheduled appointment time. That is due to the fact that Rosalie gives every client her undivided attention and makes absolutely certain that her patients leave understanding her recommendations. Be patient and you’ll receive the same outstanding care.

Best Physcatrist I have ever found by far. Pa was amazing, office staff was chaotic and unorganized. More than willing to tolerate that for great medical care by Dr. Cubano. I would recommend him or his Pa to anyone. My only suggestion is to higher more professional assistants.

Rick Sheafer

I had my first TMS treatment, it actually felt good, and the headache I had went away before the treament was complete. I did'nt feel any different when I left the office to go to work, but by the time I got to work there was a definite change in how I felt. I no longer had the oppressive feeling of doom and dread I've gotten used to carrying with me everyday. In essence I felt wonderful. Unfortunately after about 12 hours the feeling went away and the feeling of doom and dread slowly returned. Of course it was only one treatment, I have 35 more to go, I'm hoping that eventually these feelings will go away completely.

James Stanfield

Dr. Cubano cares less about his patients and much more about his own wallet. They're the only office in florida that now requires a drug test before every appointment that YOU must pay for. If you need FMLA or ADA documents he'll refuse to sign them because "he hates doing it". After bringing the fmla documents in which I've never had an issue with a psych filing out before in the many years I've had fmla Dr. Cubano told me I was sneaky and disrespectful for making an appointment solely to help him fill it out. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this horrible place. By far the worst experience of had with any psychiatrist.

I felt cared for.

Crystal Rengel

Horrible experience, staff are extremely rude and very unprofessional. Avoid this office at all cost.

Rebecca McIntosh

Rosalie is amazing. It was the first time I’ve had a real and intelligent conversation about meditation options. We are in this together and she truly cares about how I feel. I wouldn’t go to anyone else.

My husband misses one appointment (work) and they made his next appointment really far off. They did not call in medications for him to get him through until his next appointment. These are psychiatric drugs so you can’t do that. He’s been miserable, dizzy, very irritable, headaches. They had no plan to help him. One of the ladies at the front desk was really rude. My husband likes the dr but we are going to be leaving the practice due to the front desk and them not caring about his well-being. There was no reason why they couldn’t call in a few pills until his next visit. I called them too and never got a call back. No response.

* This practice is HORRENDOUS. If you care about your mental health or the mental health of a loved one I implore you to find another provider. Dr. Cuban, unfortunately, has lost sight of the reason he got into psychiatry a long long time ago. * As has been mentioned previously, your first appointment (and maybe even your second) will be ok. He handles all first appointments and can be charming and engaged. It will quickly end. He has one or two Nurse Practitioners on staff and you will be shuffled off to them. Worse, you will never know who exactly will be seeing you until you arrive. Yes, they'll give you an appointment with the person you ask for but it will change anyway. You never really establish a history with anyone. * Dr. Cubano. You will quickly figure out that he's arrogant and self absorbed. Some of you may find that comment harsh and I truly tried to find a kinder way to explain my disdain for this man but i realize i'd be doing a prospective patient a disservice by doing so. After he "hooks" you you become little more than a profit center. And he will interpret laws in whatever fashion will increase his cash flow. Should you find yourself in his office I implore you to pay attention. He will never look you in the eye. He is flat out bored and will play with anything and everything on his desk. He will cruise the internet while talking to you (saw that twice in the reflection off of the glass from pictures on the wall). HE WILL FLAT OUT LIE TO YOU and cannot maintain eye contact while doing so. Speaking of which. Many of you are probably familiar with Florida's HB-21 which took affect about 18 months ago. For those of you who aren't, it's Florida's effort at combatting the opioid epidemic int he state (country). It targets, among others, Schedule II drugs used for the control of pain. It does NOT pertain to Schedule II medications used for non-pain conditions such as those found in psychiatry. However, because of his "fear for his medical license" he began requiring mandatory urinalysis prior to each visit and he will look you straight in the eye (one of the few times) and flat out tell you that HB-21 forces him to do it. NO IT DOES NOT. In fact, it was so humiliating that I reached out to Florida's Governor who put me in touch with the states medical standards office. They confirmed, in writing, that it is NOT required for any Schedule II drug used on psychiatry. Even after I presented the proof to the staff he told me they were wrong and he was right. He is the ONLY doctor in the area doing this. Hmmm... * Office Staff: Absolutely the WORST group of human beings you will come across. 4 people jammed into an office little bigger than a small walk-n closet. They hate their job and they hate their patients. They will not ever lift a finger to help. No one answers the phone. Want to make an appointment? Drive to the office. * The latest nonsense: If you have an insurance company that requires annual pre-authorizations (like MOST insurance company's) they will NOT process it for you. So, the doctors/nurses will prescribe medication that requires pre-authorization and then direct the staff not to process it. Yes, you read that correctly. You are then screwed. You cannot get your prescription filled, they will not do the pre-auth, and if you want to see if you can get a different prescriptions/medication.. yep.. another office visit and another co-pay. Please.. do yourself a favor... run way... don't walk.. run. There are plenty of alternatives to this nuthouse. How he stays in business is simply astounding.

The staff is entirely incompetent and unprofessional, worst experience ever!

Anon User

Very professional. Dr Cubano engages patients. Exceptional psychiatrist!

Nicole King

No care, communication or compassion from the office staff. In my opinion they care more about money. Never met the MD but I assume that comes from his direction. Loved Jesica and sad not to see her again. Associating with this office caused me anxiety which is the exact thing I was asking help for.

Yvan Quintero

Worst. Staff. Period. Don't waste your time.

I've read all of the reviews on here and, like most reviews, they're all over the place. If you are getting what you need the rating is good. if you aren't, it's obviously bad. This is my experience. First, yeah.. this practice is pretty much a "pill mill". The office is so small, and the patients so "overbooked" there is little time for much else. The office is TINY.. and I mean TINY. It's not unusual to be in the lobby (used as a waiting room) with 10 other patients crawling all over each other (frequently with screaming or fidgeting kids). ZERO privacy! NONE! Zilch! NADA! There is no place to move in that office. Even the staff are packed into a tiny office with 2-4 people working on top of each other (plus its a mess). Three other offices with entry doors pretty much right in the lobby (so small that white-noise generators are used to keep conversations confidential). So yeah.. when you can get 10 patients in and out in 45 minutes your pretty much just handing out pills. Next item, the new florida opioid law. For much of what this doctor prescribes the law does not apply. This greedy doc has decided that EVERYONE will have to pee and come to see him EVERY MONTH. It's his own interpretation, not what the law requires. The entire environment is seedy, crowded, and completely unprofessional. Given that Doctor Cubano LOVES to flaunt his good fortune by parking his VERY EXPENSIVE sports cars right in front of the office for all to see you would think he has the $$ to get a proper office. So, don't mind feeling like cattle? Don't mind the embarrassment of having to sit knee to knee with other patients who are there for a variety of mental treatment for all the world to see and know about? Want to have to piss in a cup very publicly during every visit due to the lack of space? Then this place is for you!!

Paola Daniels

This office is a joke. They are only in it for the money and really do not care about patients. It’s a shame that the vulnerable people that need help are treated like a nuisance. They are in over their heads so much that they cannot give appropriate treatment unless you want to drop $6,000 for his ketamine treatments. Do you want paperwork signed for disability? He only signs then on Fridays, after you pay $350.00. Do you need his office to contact your insurance company to authorize a medication he raves about and recommends? They don’t have enough staff to do so. “Just pick a medicine that your insurance already pre-approves.” Yup, because all medications work the same in every individual....PRISCILLA Do they answer any of your emails? Nope, move along. Do they charge you for drug testing at every visit so they get a kickback from the laboratory? Yes, sir. All the people that work here don’t care about you or your circumstances. And they are in the mental health industry. It’s really sad.

N

PATIENT ABANDONMENT, leaving patients without medication creating a crisis situation for patients. MULTIPLE incidences with MULTIPLE patients!

B F

These people should not be handling the mentally ill at all. There is NO concern for your well being here. The staff and "doctors" and other "professionals" behave as if they are doing you a favor allowing you to see them. Also have never seen a psychiatrist using drug tests, anything for the money. They only care about the money not your suffering, or the drugs you are taking. You can get any drug here, but don't expect anyone there to care if you are OK. They also refuse to provide FMLA paperwork and if they do charge hundreds of dollars, that is if it will be done, or doctor notes for your job. Zero compassion for the mentally ill and suffering. It's all about the money for them. Staff are rude, uncaring as well as "the doctor" and cannot directly answer questions and don't call you back. Also expect long waits, and a tiny crowded waiting room with people piled on you. Nightmare.

Sarah Jeanne

Scheduling an appointment is a nightmare. Have not been able to get thru via phone call over the course of at least a week. My NP is fantastic but unfortunately that means nothing if I can't even get in to see her.

The staff here shamed me for having mental illness. Cubano was 15 minutes late to open his office when I arrived for an 8 am appointment. I was told to come early to fill out paperwork and almost left thinking I had the time and date wrong. He showed up in his fancy sports car and never once apologized for being tardy. I should have known the type of doctor I was dealing with. One evening I tried to overdose on the meds I was prescribed. The next day I mustered the courage to call the office and tell the nurse what had happened thinking surely they will help me after all the doctor himself had told me to call if I had any issues with the meds. I was rudely told the doctor wouldn't see me because he didn't deal with emergency situations and should I press further he would stop being my doctor because I was an extreme case and too much of a liability. I was stunned and embarrassed. I waited two weeks for my appointment and asked if the nurse had told him that I called, she never did. I tried to kill myself using the meds prescribed and he didn't know because his staff didn't bother to tell him. I figured if the nurse didn't care then why should I? We can sit here and point fingers but in my defense I was the one seeking treatment for mental illness. If I called the office and spoke to the nurse that should be like speaking to him. Cubano upped the dosage and gave me more of the same meds I had told his nurse I had overdosed on. If you have mild issues and bottomless pockets he can probably help you otherwise do yourself a favor and find a doctor who actually wants to save lives and help people. I have no personal vendetta with this office, but, I went here because of the great Google review. I feel like its my social responsibility to share this experience. Please take your mental health seriously and find a Doctor who will take it just as seriously as you do.

I have only been to the office 1 time. The staff were very nice and professional. My visit was with a nurse practitioner who was very thorough. She had read my history before I came which made it easier to work out what I needed now. She started me on a new medication (gave me samples) which have really worked well. So far I’m very pleased with this office.

I Got 2 Pickles Hey Hey Hey

This is a pill mill, they need to be shut down. They are quick to hand you pretty much anything you ask for. I've never even met the doctor, only the PA and I've been going there 7 months!!!!

Veronica Cibin

The level of professionalisms of their staff is completely unacceptable when it comes to "Customer Service", "Patient's Appointment", "Record Keeping". The most disturbing part is how they treat all individuals that come into the office (Paying Clients), their lack of accountability for their own mistakes when it comes to their patients baffles me. I should have done more research regarding this practice before hand to avoid this type of behavior and complete disregard of other people's time.

Johnny Cuevas

I love this office I have been to serveral mental health doctors and so so many place you are just a number ,but here I am sombody and I am am always treated with respect and like a human....... ROSALIE HAS TAKEN CARE OF ME SINCE DAY ONE we laugh together and we cry together Dr cubano office is top notch and if doubt it please look around and you be crawling back I thank this crew for helping find the old me to the whole staff and especially rosalie good bless you all And. Yes there is a new 30$ payment for in office drug screening dirty to false report of this place being a pill mill and you don't have to pay 40$ upfront but you do have to wait for your meds untill they can prove you are not taking multiple different drugs at same.time

K Walker

don’t come here if you want to be treated as a person. cubano and rosalee are good doctors. the staff is incompetent and spiteful.

Dan Zalez

This "doctor" is the absolute worst. Unfortunately I didn't not check the reviews before scheduling my appt. This is the worst type of person because instead of helping his mentally ill patients he preys on them. You will have to pay 35 for a consultation which they will never tell you before the appt. I was in his office and there were two other new patients that were just as shocked as me. He was so rude and I even sat down he says, we need to hurry this up make it fast. Then he told me i had 8 minutes and at that point i demanded my money back. What he said next blew my mind, he told me that "he was doing me a favor". There's a reason why this person (i will not call him a doctor), has so many negative reviews. He is also going to try to charge you for drug testing which is only mentioned when you walk into his office. I am going to file formal complaint against Mr Cubano. Here's what really blows my mind. I was 5 minutes late and he was the rudest human being on the planet but there are many reviews that says he has left customers waiting and opened his practice up late. I could not believe it the audacity!! On a side note don't even think about going to him for Ketamine. He is charging $500 for an infusion. Again, the audacity. I will not give any names but you can find it in clearwater for less than half. Do your research and you will see for yourself. It sadness me to see there are people like him who are suppose to help the mentally ill but instead choose to prey on them. I have a feeling that Mr Cubano's attitude is that of someone who could careless of his patients reviews but I hope anyone who reads this decides to bypass this person and not endure the negative experience that many of us have had with this office. If you have had an negative experience please post on all the places that give us a voice. Just google his name and leave a review on yelp, health grades, google, Facebook etc etc. As a society we need to teach unprofessional doctors that we will no longer stand for them treating the mentally ill as if they don't matter.

Gabriella Ospina

I never make google reviews, but I need to give my experience after seeing the negative reviews below. I have been going to Dr. Cubano's office for about 3 months now. I never had a difficult time scheduling an appointment. For those complaining about the prices and cost of going to see him, that is almost entirely controlled by insurance. I work in healthcare and deal with this daily. Fees can often be determined by the insurance company and plan someone walks in with. So yes, I do pay a fee every time I go, but I expect it and I'm glad to pay it if it means receiving the excellent service I have so far. Rosalie is AMAZING. It is so difficult to find people in this field that are understanding, patient, supportive, and motivating without sacrificing one of those qualities. Since going here I have embraced my diagnosis and made decisions in my academic life that I never would have dared to make. More bonuses: they let me take my dog (emotional support animal) to my appointments(!!), the front office staff is so lovely and kind, the wait time is never too long (even when I'm late, sorry Rosalie), and you don't have to wait months just to get a np appoinment or even a regular appointment. Dr. Cubano and his team have been such a great help to me. If you couldn't tell by everything I have written so far, I highly recommend this office! Good luck on your mental healthcare search endeavor :)

Mike Shea

First visit about 3 months ago was good. Second visit, refused to see me until I took a drug screen for $30 and said quite boldly that it was the law now due to hb21. Never gave us any notice prior, so yeah, didn't have anything to give them and was turned away. Nevermind the (non controlled) antidepressants that need to be refilled, can't pee in a cup, your mental health isn't our problem. Furthermore, not only is the bill not in effect until July 1st, there is nothing in it mandating drug screening for each and every visit. Nothing at all.

Lori Montileone

I'm very saddened that Rosalie Villecco is gone, she cared about her patients. When you entered her office you did not feel as if she was rushing you out the door before you even sat down. if she was let go of her position because she wasn't throwing the patients out the door fast enough, that is an abomination. if she quit then I say cheers to her she's better than this office! If I knew the office where she may be working now I would follow. I will no longer be coming to this office I think dr. Cubano is arrogant and full of himself and it's all about the money patients are cattle we get branded and put out the pastor I do not recommend this psychiatric facility to my worst enemy

Angie Baker

I have been a patient with Dr Cubano for many years. Some of these negative reviews anger me. He very much cares about his patients and is very easy to talk to. I would recommend him any time

Peter Papadakos

Randy Hammond

My wife was going there short term but did not feel the warmth and caring. Completely understanding this too is a business but some things are unacceptable. They initiated a no show fee which is understandable but they only leave one voicemail as a reminder from a California area code. I asked to speak to a rep regarding a possible reversal due to we had an emergency hospital visit during the missed appointment time but NOBODY called back. Also, there have been multiple poor encounters. This office needs improvement.

Rosemarie Hester

Dr Cubano and his staff are very kind and careing. I have always been treated with respect from the Dr and his Staff. I would tell anyone that has problems and needs a very good and excellent Dr to go and see him. His Staff is available and kind and will always help you and treat you with respect. Anyone that feels different about what i have said i feel sorry for you. Because you are missing out on good Health Care! Thanks to him i have my life back and i am very thankful for Dr Cubano and his Staff.God Bless All.

Irene Hatchett

Horrible experience very disappointed!

Catherine Plaisance

Caution, highly irregular and unprofessional private practice.

Angela Hammond

My previous psychiatrist retired, sadly for her clients! I tried this doc and staff but after 4 visits I have absolutely had it! Staff is brash and doesn't make eye contact, the doctor STILL had not obtained my records (which is extensive), and they don't know what questions to ask to help! Superficial and surface type personalities. The urine test required before every visit is annoying and costly as well. And what is with automated appointment reminders from a california area code?! I only ever got to see the doc one time and I had to request it...the rest was with other staff. Not that he was much different :( I do not recommend this place but they are young and i hope they learn and grow for the sake of future patients!!

Google User

I have been a patient here for several years. I have never had an issue with the Doctors. In fact, I think Rosalie is fantastic. She's the only reason I continue to come here. My complaint is with the staff in the front. RUDE! I had an issue that I wanted to address and was told I needed to speak to the Manager "Thelma." You'd think I was trying to call the White House! She refused to take my calls nor did she return any of them even after I requested a call back. When I saw her on my recent appt. I asked her why she had not returned any of my calls. Her response, as she looked at her cell phone, "I'm busy." I can only imagine the damage this person has done to this business. Dr. Cubano, your Manager and office staff need to go!
