I have a great team. Been there for 6 years getting treatment

Michael Bruja

Was basically told that they’re not accepting new patients for outpatient care because they’re overbooked with clients. Nobody wants to help people that need outpatient care. Totally unprofessional and I’ll be reporting them wherever I can!

Don't take new patients, kinda frustrating because all my doctors including pcp is at Penn. Would like to have everything within the same system, guy on the phone was rude and said try again in June and slammed phone in my ear.

Dana Hinson

Like their care there, therapist open to listening with a helpful solutions/options help through issues. Not closed minded!

Absolutely horrible experience. I showed up for an appointment and it was double booked. After waiting for an hour, my doctor asked if we could catch up on the phone instead, which we did. The office had no records of this conversation, so it appeared that I had not seen the doctor in over a year and thus my prescription refills ran out. I tried getting in touch with the office for two weeks before I got a response. That person told me the doctor would refill my prescription. A week later, I received a notification that the refill was denied. At this point, I didn’t have anything left of my last refill for three days and was off my medicine cold turkey. I tried calling the doctor directly and did not receive a response until 48 hours later. During this time I had already been to Urgent Care because my symptoms of going off the medication cold turkey had become quite serious. This was the worst medical care I’ve ever experienced.

Absolutely terrible service with people that are rude and unmotivated. I arrived to my appointment and went the check in, the receptionist very loudly told me off for putting my ID & insurance card down so I could continue to get things from my purse as she asked for them because "here we hand things to each other". After not answering any of my questions and quickly rushing through her memorised speech of all the paperwork I had to fill out, I sit down. I'm then brought back to get my weight, BP & heart rate taken by the most unmotivated and unapproachable nurse I've ever met. I then proceeded to wait 45 minutes for my doctor to see me. After 30 minutes of waiting I finally got the nerve up to ask what was going on, as I had a class soon & would miss it, if the doctor was taking me any later. I'm told he'll be 5 minutes & after 15 more minutes of waiting and being assured he'll just be another 5 minutes, I asked for my money back & left. I called Penn to cancel my mandatory "follow-up" appointment. Don't waste your energy coming here. It is not the atmosphere to help with therapy, if anything my anxiety issues are even worse after that experience.

Very disgusted with Dr, Christian Kohler and his staff at Pennsysvlvania Hospital. Pretty sure this guy runs the Hall Mercer Crisis Center which is not a humane place for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. Hall Mercer treated our child like another psycho off the street. Our child was managed by Penn and they did a terrible job with medication , Once our kid was in 4 spruce it was a disgusting experience where the goal is to brain damage the patients with drugs. They were adamant on drugs that were known to give our child problems. Penn really should be ashamed all the money they put into the flashy med facilities and cancer facilities. The mental units is were people could use the cheer it is like an asylum facility, I visited one day early and was very saddened by the isolated room where some poor soul in restrained was screaming so hard, The humane thing would have been to calm the person down and maybe sedate them, so instead they tie them down in a room alone and the person screams for an hour. I.m going to make a compaint to health and human services in pa about these conditions. The laws in Pa state people should be treated in an humane and least restictive settings, there was a clear violation of that law.

I've been with Penn Behavioral Health for about two years now and I'm very satisfied. I tried another psychiatrist before this who was way too quick to add to my med regimen or increase the doses of my medication. Dr. Diller ALWAYS listened to my concerns and factored them into her decisions, while still being cautious to change things unless it was appropriate to do so. I've always felt in good hands with her. She's leaving so I'm going to see someone else in the practice. They sent a letter home and My Penn Medicine (online service) reflects the change. Dr. Diller also told me in person as well as the front desk people. I've experienced great communication with the staff here. Dr. Diller even responded to a message I sent her through My Penn Medicine that same day. My appointments are usually on time, though occasionally will run ten minutes behind. Front desk people are really friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a psychiatrist. And let's be real, it's so convenient that all of my doctor's have access to everyone's notes since all my care comes from Penn

OMG! The absolute worst payer ever. Their phone system is designed to lead you to dead ends and full voicemail boxes. This is the worst managed plan I've ever had to deal with. Come on Penn, get it together, this is the 21st century!

Brenda Geras

Don't listen to their patients...do things their way or go home...

Mike Lazenka

I was considering going to them but 14 years ago I went to them and they sucked then too. I was with a therapist who pushed "Feeling good, the new Mood Therapy". Essentially "Happy Talk". Don't feel bad... feel good... what complete and utter BS. I need to go there because of insurance and I'm simply dreading it.
