REVIEWS OF Andrew Peshek, M.D. IN Delaware

Dr. Peshek is great. His staff, however, is awful. They seem to have little or no training in how to communicate with patients who have any kind of history of mental illness or anxiety issues. They are rude and lack basic courtesy in general. The office also does not have a phone number by which anyone can be reached. Their method of scheduling and inability to reach the office via telephone by any number and only being able to reach the office by email makes communication very difficult. Dr. Peshek is a smart, knowledgeable physician but because of his staff and the way his office operates I am forced to seek care from another psychiatrist. It is unfortunate because he is such a good doctor. Yes, his staff is THAT bad.

I dont often leave reviews of doctors and/or businesses I use or frequent. However, I do feel the need to toot the horn of this particular doctor. My visit was quite informative, and I could tell this man really does care about his patients. Dr Peshak is obviously very educated, but at no time did I feel he was talking down to me. I found my session, albeit my first at this office, very helpful . There was a miscommunication re: my co-pay (I dont have one) and I was charged $50.00. Unlike some practicing doctors out there, THIS one seemed like he wanted to help me sift through a possible co-pay issue. There are a TON of psychiatrists in Philadelphia, and trying to find a helpful one the past few years has proved futile. Until now! I hope this is the beginning of an enriching relationship with this office and staff

He is wonderful. Yes, he may be running late, but he's an A+ doctor and that's what is really important in this field.

It is with some reservation that I post this 1 star review, as Dr Peshek is one of the kindest, most caring psychiatrists I have met, and he is definitely an expert. However, his office recently instituted a number of separate fees that are outrageously priced and significantly higher than any other doctor... anywhere. For example, just to submit a Prior Authorization form (which should take no more than a few minutes), he now expects $250 more in ADDITION to his $350 appointment cost. He also now says he charges a minimum of $50 to submit any other forms...but reserves the right to charge any other higher amount he wants to for "lengthier" forms. So, while he used to be an affordable psychiatrist, one meeting with him could now cost over $1000 if you also have any prior authorizations or forms that you need submitted. I will be moving to another doctor who is less greedy, and strongly recommend you to do the same.

I've been to see Dr. Peshek at least 10 times in the past year, since he opened his new offices. He is very knowledgeable, kind and always makes you feel hopeful about your issues. The office is very busy and lively, he has a lot of patients and takes the time to know each one of them this is evident by his greetings in the waiting room and patient chatter. The staff is great too, they have a lot to deal with because of the volume of patients. They always remember me by name and remember the last conversations we had whether it was about my children or local restaurants. It took me a long time to find a psychiatrist who takes my insurance, I'm sure that's why he's so busy. But rest assured you will feel like part of the family there, you may go to see him for insurance coverage but stay because of the awesome caring environment.

I cannot get responses from this office. 4 of my insurance claims have not been filed. I've left voicemails, emailed, texted, called, snail mailed, filled out the online claim form. My insurance provider has tried to reach out to them for months to no avail. I was even charged for an appointment we never actually had. I have gotten sporadic responses saying they are looking into it, and then months of radio silence. Does this office still even exist? I am out of state now and can't go in during office hours. It has been a nightmare.

The worst ever. No phone, only rude emails from the most disrespectful staff. Gets paid to put everyone on trintellix and plus another pill for every symptom. He'll put you on 5 different meds, starting, stopping, and changing dosages at one time so you don't know what's causing what. If you're looking for someone to give you whatever you ask for he's your guy but if you want help STAY AWAY he will only make it worse.

Went in for my first appointments at month and was informed Dr. Peshek was running late on his way into the office. I was asked to wait, so I did...being told every 15 minutes or so that he was"on his way", and "almost there". I sat in the waiting room for two hours only to be told that the doctor was finally arriving, but that now they felt I should reschedule instead. Why wouldn't you have told me that an hour and a half ago? I leave, being charged for the session without it even occuring, and paying for 2.5 hours of parking that didn't even go to use. I am told my payment will be applied to the rescheduled appointment. I go in the following week for my rescheduled initial intake appointment, and am once again asked to wait. I am also informed that I'm not actually meeting with Dr. Peshek, but his assistant instead. I meet with Doug, a man who is not a doctor nor seems to have any experience in the mental health field. He basically asks me to tell him whatever I would like the doctor to know. My initial intake appointment lasts at most 20 minutes. Doug tells me he will be e-mailing me later after he consults with Dr. Peshek to let me know what my treatment plan will be and when to schedule my next appointment. I am once again charged my $100 copay, despite being told I would not, even when I checked in at the appointment that day. This takes an entire week to reverse and be refunded for, but only after being insulted by Leah, an office associate. I e-mail through the online submission form once again to find out when I should schedule my next appointment, as Doug never e-mailed me. No response. I call all the phone numbers available, which go to voicemail, and the mailbox is full. This co inues for 3 weeks. Now here I am, almost run out of medicine, and nobody has responded to my phone calls or submission forms. I have been under psychiatric treatment for the last 20 years and this is BY FAR the worst, most depressing and disheartening experience I have ever had. I have never felt so rejected and completely ignored. There's no excuse for this kind of service, regardless of what is going on in Dr. Peshek's personal life, which I can completely sympathize with. His office staff is being paid to take care of his patients and keep things running smoothly in his abcense, but instead his practice is just being ruined by terrible experiences like this for myself and others. It's a shame. Strongly do NOT recommend.

I have met hundreds of psychiatrists because I worked directly with a Psychiatric Recruiter . Andrew is in the top echelon of practitioners . I am personally knowledgeable of his ability to solve very difficult drug issues. Andrew helped solve a perplexing medical problem due to a surgical accident (medical malpractice) . And my medical problem were a life changing experience that left me disabled in chronic pain. He recently prescribed another drug for me that has dramatically improved my quality of life. . Years ago just after FDA approval of TMS (transcranial Mental stimulation) which at the time was for bi polar only but 5 years later Medicare agrees it helps those who are resistant to antidepressants. It also had an unexpected benefit of dramatically reducing the pain from Migraine Headaches. I get the botox treatments every three months but nothing compared with TMS results. Today he is able to install the unit in his offices. He found a drug for my closest friend who is a senior analyst for big Pharma , instrumental in the trials for celexa and Lexapro. He has always been clinically depressed and attempted suicide. Four NYC top psychiatrists, including the former chair of psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Hospital, could not find the right drug(s). Returning to Philly after 12 years in NYC I sent him to Andrew and he found the right drug (s) . We were both astonished He could diagnose and prescribe in 3 visits when Manhattan shrinks charging $450 a session could not. ( BTW big Pharma paid all his psychiatric bills including rehab. ) Personality, brains, results. See Andrew first.

Dr Peshek is great. He really cares. The office staff is amazing. I have been going to Dr Peshek since 2010 and never once have I ever had a bad experience. Great place.

Dr. Pescheck is the best psych. I've seen. Believe me there have been many. I had trouble with appts, call backs etc when the practice moved. Sure all usual hiccups. At least i hope not me lol. Since my absence i have tried others. Obviously the result has been miserable. Dr.... down to earth & truly listened. I will be attempting to be his patient again!!!

After reading reviews on here, and my insurance company being billed for services NOT rendered. I thought I should give my review.. My experience has been quite similar , to those in most of these reviews, NO DOCTOR, someone named Doug , whom is either a med asst or LPN, that has zero to no experience in the psych field. It’s very obvious.. and is very unethical to us patients. I just found out they have billed my insurance company for seeing the DOCTOR, and really, I don’t even know if this man exists!! But this is insurance fraud, and something that is being checked into. I am a professional, and a medical one at that. and I’m not sure what is going on in this psych office, but SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG. My appt gets cancelled and they still bill me. And some lady named LEAH tells me it will be for next schedule APPT. NO PEOPLE, they can not bill for services they haven’t been rendered. THAT IS down right INSURANCE FRAUD! No, if ands or buts about it. And most of all I want to know what the letters are behind The clown named Doug, who says he will relay all info to THE DOCTOR... wth kind of practice is this??? Cause he surely is no psychiatrist or asst. NO I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE, if that’s even what it is! But I will find out who what when and why my insurance has been billed. I will post updates! This is a disgrace when you have patients who really need psychiatric help. And they are being seen by a med asst or lpn. Just beware of these people!!!

Excellent doctor; horrible staff. The staff makes contacting Dr. Peshek incredibly difficult, as it takes more than a week to respond to emails, refuses to set up appointments on a timely basis, etc. This is unfortunate, as Dr. Peshek himself is a one-of-a-kind doctor, with unparalleled knowledge, who cares very deeply about his patients. Unfortunately, it is virtually impossible to see him, given his staff's communications problems.

Nima K

Overcharged for services and unable to get a refund. No one at the office answers emails or voicemails. It is not possible to contact anyone. They are very unprofessional.

Toni .

Canceled an appointment I made online without having the decency to call and let me know. I have to find out 1 AM through an email. I needed this appointment so bad. I am so disappointed.
