Mile High Psychiatry has a STRICT policy around re-scheduling or canceling appointments for Medicaid folks. I called to schedule an appointment for two weeks out. I was notified there was a strict policy in place. After I hung up I realized there was a conflict in the appointment and immediately called back to reschedule. I was notified I was not able to change the appointment two weeks out and if I did not show to the appointment I would not be able to schedule another appointment. I understand the policy however question the ETHICS behind the policy. After the response from the owner I reached out and was able to reschedule! Thank you! More info to come!

I have not had very many good experiences with mental health providers, but the Wheat Ridge location has been wonderful to me. Lauren is friendly, down-to-earth, non-judgmental, and listens carefully to her patients. The prescriptions she gave were the first to make a significant impact on my quality of life - I know medication efficacy is different for everyone, but I feel that Lauren was able to make a better judgement about what might work for me based on my symptoms than most providers. Her office (and the practice in general) has a comfortable and open atmosphere. I am usually very nervous about medical appointments, but my experience here has put me at ease more than any other provider I've visited.

The office poliicies are terrible. To obtain an answer to a simple question is a long process. They do not answer the phone. You must always leave a message and have them call you back. Secondly, they would not provide me with a blank Release of Information for my son. He had to call and ask for the BLANK ROI. It makes no sense! Will not be recommending them to anyone.

I had high hopes initially, but I soon learned they aren't here to help people, they are here to make money and try and get good Google ratings. I was hit up by the owner and founder after my first appointment to be sure and rate them on Google, and I would be rewarded with a free coffee. Now mind you, I've never had a cup of coffee in my life, but that didn't stop him. "they have other things"... When I attempted to refill my newly prescribed medications, I was bluntly informed I would have to schedule an appointment to do such. An appointment consists of a 15 minute session before which they will gladly charge you $175. Now I'm not that erudite, but my phone tells me that is $700 an hour. All to simply refill a prescription, that I'm warned I shouldn't stop taking. When I asked to have my np simply call me, the woman on the other end, Emily, tersely replied, "oh I will definitely give her the message". That was a Friday, the day before my prescription ended. The following Tuesday, I received a phone call from Emily stating she had talked to my provider and I would have to schedule an $175 fifteen minute appointment in order to refill. Needless to say, I didn't call back, still haven't heard from christen, although her last words to me were, "I'll be thinking about you", (thoughts and prayers eh?) and I haven't freaked out yet after not taking the "mediocrity pill" for over 2 weeks now... This is not a judgement, just a brief recitation of my experience with this organization that pleaded with me to review it... Oops... Be good to yourselves, and do your best to find anyone that will be your friend for free. Happiness shouldn't be so expensive... Namaste

I've needed a psychiatrist to help manage mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and PTSD for most of my life so I've seen a lot of different practitioners. I currently see Cindy at this office and I feel like it's the best care I've received in a long time! I feel listened to and respected. My care is something that's discussed and agreed upon not just prescribing a bunch of different medications to treat side effects from other medications. I'm not an emotional zombie anymore because I now have someone on my team who wants to help me and cares about my outcome.

Went for 1 visit and won’t be returning. After being told by the nurse practitioner that I was able to simply be written a medical letter I needed for legal reasons, she told me no problem. Then I was later called and told I have to visit them FOUR times before I can receive this simple letter. What a shame, guess I’ll be looking else where.

I had a doctor for about 3 or 4 years who knew me well which made for a great doctor patient relationship however almost a year ago he retired. Over the last 20 years I've moved and had doctors retire a few times leaving me too find a new doctor which at times has been really easy and other times has been very hard when my doctor retired last year I was thoroughly unprepared for the very difficult time consuming process of finding a new doctor. After months of issues with insurance coverage and or extreme out of pocket cost, I came across the number for Dr Chism. I'm not sure if I found it online or if it was a recommendation from somebody, all I know is however I found the number, I am very thankful I did. I will say I've only met Dr Chizm a couple times, both times he was very friendly, professional, and he came across as a great doctor. I have been seeing Dr Molly Oakley at Mile High psychiatry. I can confidently say she has been very professional, thorough, and has gone above and beyond to make sure that I have been able to receive the best possible care I could ask for. I'm am not quick to trust or feel comfortable with Doctors and certainly not quick to recommend them! I highly recommend the people at Mile High Psychiatry and Molly Oakley in particular. Both Molly and and the rest of the staff at Mile High psychiatry have been very dedicated to providing the highest level of care with the newest and cutting edge methods to help patients find the very best personalized treatment thus creating a higher quality of life. The whole experience has been amazing, witch i really needed after losing the Doctor I trusted and had an amazing doctor patient relationship with! I spent a very stressful time dealing with issues untreated, creating problems in most all aspects of my life, this lasted many months while I was searching for a Doctor I could trust feel comfortable with, and get the help I need! I hope this is helpful to anyone, looking, like I was for a caring, professional, knowledgeable dedicated doctor! My only criticism is for Dr Michael Chism and has nothing to do with the great doctor he is, or the quality of his practice, all I would say is it's time, have your people do their thing and update your website so that Molly Oakley is also part of your website. Thank you you all for helping me get back to myself again.

Well... I cannot sing Mike's praises high enough! I have spent 55yrs dealing with Dr's. and have never been in better hands than I'm in now with Mike. He cares, he listens, and then he treats, in my case, his treatment has been 100% effective! I can honestly say he has a rare and very special ability of making me feel like the only patient he has. While always being a true professional Mike also makes me feel as if we share a friendship, and can tell him anything..and I do : ). Mike has my respect my trust and even..a piece of my heart. I am certain God sent me to him and I couldn't be more grateful. I thank Mike for putting me back together again. Did I mention I would highly recommend him and have in fact, to my only child! Now you know how I must trust him to put my greatest blessing ever in his hands!! The results have been the same as mine..perfect. Don’t bother scheduling an appointment here. The staff is super rude and they are VERY strict regarding scheduling. Their cancellation policy is pretty ridiculous and unreasonable. I loved my doctor, however; unbeknownst to me, I was automatically scheduled for a follow up visit. I never confirmed the visit, but the staff still took it upon themselves to charge my debit card for $180!! I was extremely upset about this and the receptionist was completely unbothered and rude about it.

The worst psychiatrist place I’ve ever been to. The nurse practitioners are great. The people that run this are not. You never get seen on time and you’re usually waiting for at least 20 min. If you cancel with less than 24 hour notice more than twice then you can no longer make appointments or call for refills. Instead you have to call the morning you want to be seen and *hope* there’s an availability. And if you need your meds refilled but nobody is able to see you? Oh well. Go to All health network instead. Multiple locations and great staff. This is rediculous especially knowing that they’re working with people who have issues like depression. Anxiety, ADHD and OCD that can occasionally affect weather pr not they’re on time to all of their appointments. Also they give you Starbucks for leaving a positive review online. So keep that in mind.

I love this place!! I had my first appointment this morning and was a little hesitant going in only because sometimes with Medicaid you don't get proper care or listened too. They blew me away with how much they care and how well they listened to me. I met Mike the owner and he is sweet as can be and Shantel is who I saw for my appointment and she made me feel so comfortable and so welcome. I am over the moon with this place and very grateful to have found a home there. The office staff was incredible too! I highly highly highly recommend Mile High Psychiatry!

I went there just once and I will NOT be going back! I was basically accused of just wanting a "quick fix!" She didn't seem to care at all about what my real problem was! I changed insurance and my old psychiatrist doesn't take Medicaid. In the 18 years I have been seeing a psychiatrist, this is the WORSE experience I have ever had! She didn't even want my records from my previous psychiatrist that I had been seeing for 10 years. She was wanting to take me off my anxiety medication, and I told her I would not go off of it! Just because my husband told her I did better at 10mg, she accused me again of wanting a "quick fix!" I know what works for me and I refuse to be put through more anxiety having to try a bunch of medications only to find out that the 10mg of the anxiety med I'm on works best for me! Trying a psychotic medication? I'm willing to try that as long as it doesn't make me feel funny. I refuse to take medication that makes me feel weird.

One of the worst psychiatric firms in Colorado, if not the worst. They deserve 0 stars if it is possible. They do not care about the patient and their well being, all they want to do is push as many different medications on you as possible without figuring out what is truest wrong. They also have figured out a way to add so many late fees to an appointment that I had already canceled, without my knowledge. Until I finally got a call from a collections office saying that I have acquired a ridiculous outstanding balance from them. (Because I never heard from Mike high psychiatry) The sketchy part of it all is that they have changed the amount that I owe with the collections agency multiple times without giving an itemized list of the late fees or transactions. Even the women at the collections agency believes that they are doing something fishy here.

When I first started seeing Michael Chism in 2016 I was at a really low point. I had quit a horrible (for me) call center job and was struggling with severe anxiety and depression which made it difficult for me to function. I have dealt with these issues my entire life and saw mutliple therapists and psychiatrists- some good, some bad. I've been on SSRIs, SNRIs, tri-cyclic antidepressants, mood stabilizers as well as benzos and also self-medicated quite a bit. My confidence in myself was shot and I felt like I couldn't do anything but fail. I began seeing a therapist (Jordan Langdon LSC) as well as Mike who worked with me to get medications that worked for my treatment-resistant depression. I began making art again and he even paid me for a print of my piece to hang in the office. That made me feel like I had something to offer- it was a small gesture but it meant a lot. About six months after getting my medications stablized I got another job which paid more and I am still working there today. I can function at a consistent level without being swallowed by a rising tide of depression. My job offers tuition reimbursement- I went back to college majoring in biochemistry and am finishing my 2nd semester with a 4.0 while working full time- something I could have NEVER done 5 years ago. The staff at this practice listens to you and doesn't judge you. They are quick to respond to provide refills or for urgent appointments. They are opening a new office and have been acquiring more providers since I began going so that tells me I'm not the only one with this type of story. They will work with you so you can get back on your feet and get better. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Molly Oakley and was very dissatisfied with the visit. I don't know if it is because of the Medicaid Insurance that I have, but I don't feel she really listened to my feelings and thoughts. I was covered with Anthem Blue Cross insurance about a year ago and all doctors in the network really took time to listen and assess my problem. I will further search for a new doctor.

Absolutely awful communication. Michael Chism does not return any voicemails or phone calls and rarely returns emails, if ever. Have attempted to get refills from him several times only to be left without medication for weeks at a time. I would not recommend as this is someone who doesn't care enough about their patients to make the slightest effort. Mile High Psychiatry is focused on money, not quality care.

Zero stars!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU!!! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PROVIDER AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!! Does not know how the insurance they accept work, will refuse to pay any money they will owe you and deny knowing anything about it. Poor treatment charges $150 to see you for no more than 10 minutes. Does not even talk about problems you're having. Will drop you as a client and accuse you of missing appointments you never had just because. If you want actual care stay away far far away from this place. Unlike noted below this provider charged me more than the legal amount for my claim, all deductibles and co pays were paid out, and they refused to pay what they LEGALLY owed. And investigation has been filed for their financial malpractice because as stated by me and plenty others they want nothing more than your money even if they break the law in the process to take advantage of anyone naive enough to let them get away with it.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Mile High Psychiatry practice!! I saw Dr.Chism around October of last year, I was manic out of my mind but staff was very helpful, friendly and non judgmental every step of the way. Also they accept Medicaid which is really convenient I see Emily now and she’s great! The staff genuinely care about you here and there’s a non pretentious down to earth vibe.

Update: I appreciate that they reached out to me both by replying to this review and with a personal phone call. This was clearly not the only place they had received this feedback, and I do see them making some changes. While it's still rare that I get through to a living person on my first try, which is frustrating, their response time for voicemails seems to have improved dramatically and you now have the option to at least remain on hold (critical to me because there aren't that many windows in my day where I can answer my phone if it rings, so getting a call back doesn't always help). For these improvements, I am increasing my rating. 5 stars would be if someone picked up the phone most of the time. Original review: More than pleased with the service I receive when I show up for an appointment here, but I have never called (and I always call during your published office hours) and NOT been sent to voicemail. You guys are a medical practice. You treat people who are in crisis and need care. Maybe it's time to shell out for a second administrative assistant before your negligent practices cause someone to hurt themselves.

Navigating the complex waters of mental health providers can quickly become intimidating and even irritating! Dr. Molly took over my care and she made certain that I was satisfied and comfortable with our treatment plan every step of the way. Eventually I was switched over to Dr. Jonathan after Dr. Molly moved and he has resumed my care with true dedication and concern for any issues or changes throughout my treatment plan. The office as a whole is an incredibly well-functioning team unit. The ladies always get back to me in a timely manner and if a medication/insurance issue arises, I can rest assured knowing that they WILL find a solution. I will be moving out of state soon and I’m actually dreading leaving Mike High Psychiatry because they have taken such great care of me over the past year. Thank you to everyone at Mile High Psychiatry for respecting and caring for your patients so well!! PS: This office is so well-functioning because of how efficiently they manage our time and visits. This place is such a scam. They never answer the phone, they send out your bills late on purpose so they can add on late fees and then cant even provide you with a receipt. The "psychologists" are nothing more than a joke. Worst place I have ever been. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. I had been going to this office for over a year and when I was getting sick with asthma attacks and muscle spasms I had to miss two appointments. When I had a doctors excuse I was told if I reschedule or miss another appointment I could not come back. I agree with Zane when he said he questions the ethics of who ever runs this office. I think the owner and whoever runs the office have two different ways of how to run a business and especially a business of treating patients. The office is more about money and does not care about you or your personal issues. They fail to be humane when making business decisions and in the long run it will come back at them. No one wants to deal with people like that. Also, I am filing a claim for SSI disability. I called the office for medical records and they wanted to charge me 30 dollars for a few sheets of paper and a folder and stamp to mail it. I have a lot of medical records and no one has charged me. After getting the medical records in the mail I thought to my self why did they charge me for this and no one else did out of the ton of medical records I have. The girl who answered the phone should not have charged me for the records. It is against federal law to do so when the patient is collecting records for SSI disability. I called back and let her know she wasn’t suppose to and she told me well you agreed to it. I said that’s not how it works but I’ll dispute the charge. No one else has charged me and I have a lot of records. By law I have a right to my records and at no charge with the exception that they are for ssi disability. She knew they were for SSI disability but maybe she didn’t know this law. Can you imagine how much money I’d have to spend to get my medical records if the rest did the same as this office? Even the federal government has more ethics than this office. They understand that disabled people wouldn’t have money like that especially as they try to survive until their hearing date. I did dispute the charge with my bank and it’s being investigated. I would say the providers at the office were good to me. Although, I would not go to this place again and would advise anyone else to do the same being how the office chooses to handle things while treating the most vulnerable members of our society. I might also be filing a formal complaint against this office in the long run and possibly more in a legal aspect. I think these people who run the office need to be taught a lesson and I will be more than happy to be the one to do it. Treat people how you would want to be treated. I have posted the law for viewers to see and you should stop trusting an insurance company to tell you what the law is sweetheart. I also disputed your charged and was fully refunded by my bank being that is the law. I also told my case manager who visited today who also said it is against the law. She wrote the name down and will report it to the state. No need to explain to me or anyone else as you’ll be talking with the state soon. I would just tell them you were miss informed horribly by your money hungry insurance company and you apologize sincerely for your ratchet behavior. The first time I came here, I waited over an hour to be seen yet I had an appointment at 3. The meds they prescribed were declined by insurance and I left two voicemails because I couldn’t reach anyone. Over a week later they finally modified the rx and sent it over. Came back for a follow up appointment and the dr I see took a new patient back at my appointment time. I waited 30 minutes.

This facility exaggerates time spent with the patient in order to charge more money. I was charged $518 for two visits. The first was 30 minutes long, the second was no more than 15. The bill, however, lists charges for “complex intake” and an “add on psychotherapy +52 minutes.” I was also charged $50 for “patient intake call,” which is the phone call I made to make the appointment. That’s right. I WAS CHARGED FOR MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. This is outrageous. I have not seen a psychiatrist in over ten years. It took a lot of courage for me to make this appointment, and now I feel very foolish. Mile High has a very strict attendance policy, which they claim is due to the fact that psychiatric care is not always “accessible.” Well, I am out over $500 and simply cannot afford to follow up to receive any medication refills or management. That makes them quite INaccessible to me. I will not be coming back, and I hope this review is useful to someone else who might be looking for help—please find another place. As I do see that the office manager responds to negative reviews: my last name is Reynolds (maiden name Weber), and I saw Cindy. Just to verify my status as a patient. But I will perhaps just save you the time and pre-empt what seems to be your standard answer to those of us feeling swindled: you “apologize for any miscommunication and take all billing and accounting matters seriously and honestly.” Save your time and mine. There was no miscommunication, and this business is not honest.

I had a frustrating situation related to my heath insurance not wanting to approve my medication. I ended up working with Lenae, one of the amazing office staff, about the issue. She worked very hard to contact my health insurance provider and eventually was able to get my medication approved! I am super appreciative of her efforts and beyond glad that I go to this office for my mental health care.

I made an initial appointment with mile high and was happy to get an appointment so quickly. Unfortunately, I had something come up on that day that I could not get out of. I called (a week before my scheduled appointment) to try and get a different time. I was told since it was an intial appointment they could not reschedule and would just have to cancel the appointment which also meant I would not be able to make any further appointments with them. Very inflexible mental health services. I have served clients with serious mental illness for 3 years. I understand setting boundaries and that there can be a lot of cancellations which takes services from others but I would never be so inflexible and not allow someone to reschedule a first appointment (especially if they called a week in advance). Mental health services are not always easily accessible so there ends up being a lot of people who need help but do not get it. The rigidity of mile high is astounding. On top of that, I tried to get some recommendations from them of other services in the areaa(since they will no longer schedule me) and they didn't have anything for me other then to contact my health insurance (I have Medicaid). If you are going to work in this field, know some resources you can refer to if you are unable to take clients. This not a review of the actual services they provide as I was not seen.

I do not recommend Mile High at all, but I will give 2 stars for the NP Cynthia Tsou. It is hard to find a good psychiatrist is the lesson I've learned from this experience. They were the only clinic that had immediate openings and now I understand why. From the beginning (appointment setting) I informed them that I had a Medical Claim and would need it to be filled out. I was told after the appointment that the NP would be able to complete that for me. After the first appointment I inquired about this and did not get an answer from the front desk. I was told they had never received the forms even though the claims company had sent it over twice and I had documentation of that. It wasn't until I was physically in the office for my second appointment that I was told it would take 4 appointments for this to be filled out by the NP. I was very frustrated by this as I was working on a deadline, but I informed the claims company and moved forward. During my 3rd appointment, Cynthia let me know that after the 4th appointment that she would go ahead and fill out the form. We scheduled my appointment for 7AM so that it could be done in enough time for me to get paid (I had already missed one paycheck and didn't want to miss another). After the 4th appointment I called back in to make sure there were no issues with getting the form filled out. The front desk said they had the form and would work on getting Cynthia to fill it out. The next day (Tuesday) I called back and left a voicemail that was not returned. The third day (Wednesday) I called and back and left a voicemail that was returned. I was told that billing would need to handle this paperwork.I told them I'm on a deadline and asked for an ETA of some sort. Later I was given a call back saying that billing will not complete the form unless I pay a fee. Wouldn't this have been good information to know from Day 1? "Hello - in order to get your claims information filled out, you will have to wait until your 4th appointment and pay a fee. Billing will take x amount of days for this to be completed" Luckily I have a 3 week prescription so that means I have 3 weeks to find a new psychiatrist with a more transparent and professional front desk team. In addition, at my first appointment I was bombarded with someone "training." None of this was explained to me. She proceeded to do all the work despite me booking an appointment with Cynthia. I asked her to leave as I felt like that was very unprofessional and intrusive. If you're desperate, sure. But if you have time to wait for another clinic, do that. P.S. I would take the good reviews with a grain of salt. Although I'm sure other people have had great experiences, they offer something for writing reviews for their clinic.

I understand being punctual is important but considering I have no car, and made an error in timing my trip, and that this is a place that deals in mental health (ie: suicide , serious stuff) you would think they could reschedule one time with an emphasis on punctuality in the future. If you're bringing in a child for an appointment or even if the appointment is for you but you have a sense of modesty, be warned. One of the practitioners at this practice, Emily, dresses very inappropriately for a professional. She wears thigh-high boots, cleavage-bearing tops, and extremely short dresses and skirts. Frankly, its embarrassing but her practice doesn't seem to have a problem with her dressing like this.

It's so nice having a doctor who gives 110% genuine effort towards treating his patients. Mike has earned my complete trust.
