Addendum: I was contacted by this organization - AFTER I left a strongly-worded voice mail and a couple of frank reviews. The first contact left a voice mail, but I was still too upset (and hurt) to return the call. This morning I spoke with a gentleman named Doug. He was kind and understanding, but seemed to think that ComPsych had outdated information. That is possible, but today ComPsych emailed me the name and number of an independent counselor. I called her, and she called me back within an hour, giving me an option of times for appointments. Zero run-around. All done in one afternoon. I suspect that HCC has great therapists. But the front office makes or breaks a business for me. People don't seek counseling on a lark. We're not calling for a hair appointment. We are usually in dire need of help. I sure was when I called. Original Review: The receptionist is filtering out my EAP claim. The therapists tell ComPsych they are available, but the receptionist refuses to schedule them. I'm suspicious of what they are really about. I would encourage people to go elsewhere. They don't want to take employee assistance patients.

I am a 31 year old man who, despite material success, for the past decade had started to feel increasingly lost, out of control and depressed. These feelings of existential pain and alienation became so strong that I “quit” life for a year and ran off into the African bush to find myself. During that time I discovered much about myself but upon return to the States, lacked the understanding of how to dive deeper into these insight and turn them into a healthier day to day existence. This is when I stumbled upon Carl Nasser and Heart-Centered Counseling. Carl is a man of infinite compassion, considerable knowledge and inexhaustible patience. With his help, I’ve been able to address my “demons” in a more humane manner and consequently manifest a far more enjoyable emotional state of being. I must say, that most of my current happiness I owe exclusively to Carl. Unfortunately, time marches on and I had to leave Fort Collins, but Carl and I still meet every other week for our sessions over the computer and the experience is just as warm and effective as if I were sitting on his couch. Deception, ignorance or incompetence; you decide. The owner called using information from their 'confidential records' to talk about THIS review. This is beyond inappropriate. Client information is NOT for marketing efforts. Before anyone considers it; claiming to be attempting to help is not an appropriate reason to mis-use peoples information. Attempted multiple contacts with office staff. Every contact was noticeably misleading, contained glaring contradictions, and the staff maintained these statements. I cant say anything about the counseling personnel. The gate keeping staff will do their best to treat you as a dimwit at first contact.

I was shocked to read Mr. J Pikes review saying the Owner is rich and a big real estate tycoon because when I took my daughter there is was BARE BONES! No receptionist or desk or no one to greet you and No PRIVACY in the waiting room or confidentiality while we were waiting . There was no one to ask where to go or to get any assistance. We waited 20 minutes before I could stop someone to find our therapist. It was hard to get my daughter there she has been so depressed and to get her out was hard but to keep her waiting in that CIRCUS of a waiting room was too much for both of us. Kids were yelling and running around and it made us so uncomfortable that we finally just left. Someone that is making so much money off of sick people should at least spend some money to make them comfortable and have a receptionist like every other professional office. We found another place to go that is more professional looking and in their service.

The tele-health platform is quite innovative. Trying it gave me a bit of hope for those too desperate to leave home and may need access to therapy or counseling. It also opens doors for patients to be able to find the right match in their therapist regardless of location on the map. Zoom can capture audio sessions that are authentic vs notes on patient commentary that may or may not capture the true essence of the person’s heart. Carl’s calm demeanor and patience made the session comfortable and I would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of a counseling service.

Update: I emailed them last night after finally getting home and assessing the situation. I heard back from the 2 wonderful ladies I had spoke with before. Apologized, promised to call in the morning and fix things. This morning, bright and early, I was called and asked to meet the therapist at noon. I was greeted immediately and had a great first session. Later this afternoon Carl, the director, called and apologized. We spoke in great length about the situation yesterday and today. He told me to call if there were any issues in the future. Thank you for making things right. I feel much better now that I've met with Melissa and look forward to our future appointments! Original: Over a week ago I finally called to schedule an appointment. The lady I talked to was wonderful, very understanding. I thought I was at the right place. Today, Jan. 9th, I showed up for my 11am appointment at 10:45. (This is a 30 minute drive for me) There is no receptionist at the Riverside building. So I sat down and waited. At 11:18 I called the number on the website. Asked if the therapist I was supposed to see canceled. Unfortunately, I never ended up on the schedule. However, the lovely receptionist asked me to wait there for a few more minutes, she was contacting the therapist. I waited until 11:36. No one came out. I waited for nothing. I needed real help. I needed some sort of assistance. I had put off admitting that I needed help and when I finally did, I magically wasn't put on the schedule. I'm very upset with the way things happened. Make sure you call and triple check your appointment. I drove all the way into town just to drive all the way back with nothing accomplished.
