Great mental health/psychiatric services!

If I could give zero stars I would! This is the most inefficiently run "medical office" that I have ever had the misfortune to deal with! It starts with making an appointment or if you have a question. You cannot call the office directly, they have their phone calls forwarded to a call center in Florida. These call center people are less than polite, have difficulty speaking english, and could care less about what ever problem you are having. These idiots then have to send your message to the office, which then gets ignored. They always state they never received it. Even my pharmacy is exasperated dealing with them! Save yourself time, money, and your sanity. Go somewhere else!

I don't have experience with the doctor's yet. I can't even get an appointment over the phone. I've made 6 attempts the last 2 days to make an appointment. I am on hold in the queue for 10-20 minutes then when they answer and I say I need to make an appointment for a new patient they put me on hold again for another 5-10 minutes or longer (sometimes more than once) and I always get disconnected and have to start the process all over. Why can't the first person that answers the phone help me? I told the lady to be careful about putting me on hold because yesterday I kept getting disconnected. She said, oh so sorry if that happens again my name is XXXX. But when I called back the same lady put me on hold again. This 6th attempt I also asked the same lady to please not put me on hold because I had gotten disconnected several times before. Once again she says "give me a minute" and guess what? She put me on hold...for 10 minutes and I got disconnected again. I had this recommendation from the assisted living facility my mom is in and they use this place for many of their residents. If I ever get through I hope their doctors are better than their phone service.

Apparently they decided that they dont want to pay a lab anymore so now i have this lab in Chicago saying that I am now responsible for $300 bill amd it will go on my credit report if i dont pay it immediately. Also, this "FREE" mouth swab test, that from my research almost useless, was billed at over $4,300. It seems like they found a little racket to funnel money out of the insurance companies and into their pockets. (for tests i never wanted, but they said it was free and they had to do it before they could discuss medications with me)

First and foremost, Katherine is my hero. She's the first provider I've had in nearly 20 years who was able to figure out what I truly needed, and she continues to look after me properly. It's because of Katherine that I will continue to make appointments at Compass Health. The one star above is for her, because she IS the star of that place. Other than that, this business is one big revolving door. I've been a patient there for 5 years, and think maybe one person is still working there from when my journey began with them. And he was a guy I stopped seeing because he took notes on my official records that sounded like high school gossip. My next therapist had a baby and never returned. The one after that was amazing, but was driven away by the company, like many others. The next one vanished from the company one random day, and I ONLY found out after I showed up for my appointment with her. No one bothered to tell me. And now this last one canceled an appointment out from under me AFTER I confirmed per my usual, because she stopped taking Medicare, and people just assumed I didn’t want my appointment. I showed up to my appointment today, and Lisa already had another patient in with her. During MY time. I have never missed an appointment in FIVE years except for a severe illness occasion. They had no right to do that! Why five years? Well, it's close to home, and anxiety keeps me from venturing out. But today was the final straw. I'm done with this circus. I recommend you stay away as well. I'm keeping Katherine, if she'll have me. But the rest of them pretty much obliterated my trust.

This office is unprofessional. In my opinion doesn't care for the patients well being. Fill out the form on how your feeling, doc says you need help, and your leave with prescription in hand. Some of the staff were laughing at me. I didn't go there to be abused.

James Callender

Terrible service with refill. One gal there, Mikayla, was very helpful. Others, including a supervisor, were not. They told me they would call me on Monday, kept my phone with me all day. No phone call. Called them towards the end of the day Monday, calls go to voicemail 95% of the time. Had to leave a message. Message states they will return the call within 24 hours. They did not. Called 3 times Tuesday, finally reached Mikayla who helped reach the doctor. Doctor refused to refill without seeing patient. Doctor refused to bridge prescription 15 days until next appointment. Doctor's schedule is extremely limited. Had to rearrange other important commitments to meet doctor's difficult schedule. Was told all other practitioners are full and no one else could help.

S C

If there could be a rating less than one star I would use it. I've never had experience with such an unfriendly, unresponsive group of healthcare professionals! The receptionists/schedulers go out of their way to be unpleasant and rude. The therapists and Dr.'s are disengaged and give you the feeling that your being a nuisance to being in their presence. I can't say enough about the quality of this group!

Rude staff. All about the money.

Stay away. They only want your money and don't care for your well being.

If one is looking for kind, caring mental health care, steer clear of Compass. I had the misfortune of scheduling an appointment with Dr. Catherine Brandon, who is as uncaring as she is incompetent. She ordered a genetics test to see which medication would be a good fit, but rather than wait for the results, prescribed me a mood stabilizer. I didn't want to take a medication right away, but trust the doctor, right? Two weeks into taking the drug, I had a severe manic episode. I've never had a manic episode like this before, and it seemed pretty clear that this medication was definitely not a good fit. I had an emergency appointment with Dr. Catherine that my husband brought me to because I was unable to function, let alone drive. I had physical tremors, high agitation, could not sit still, anxiety through the roof, so much so that I was in physical pain as well as suicidal ideation that would not stop. We were left to wait for this appointment for a half an hour before Dr. Catherine came in, in all her wisdom, declaring that what was actually happening was a case of influenza. When I countered this with a swear in my sentence because god forbid I swear in the middle of a sever manic episode, she raised her voice with me, literally yelling at me, and told me that I did not talk that way to her. I broke down, telling her that I could not control myself, she stated that I needed to do a better job doing so and learn to control myself. My husband and I left immediately and I voluntarily admitted myself to Peak View because you know, suicidal ideation is not a good or safe thing. While in-patient, my husband tried to get the genetic test results from her so that we could go elsewhere, and she would not release them. He had a release of information paperwork, but she would not give him my results that my insurance paid for and by all rights belong to me, until I had an appointment with her. Peak View, who was alerted to the mistreatment, failed to tell me that Dr. Catherine also works for them, and she is the reasons I left the out-patient program following my discharge. I have PTSD and trust issues already, so it's just wonderful that the first psychiatrist I see in Colorado Springs, having just moved here, must have printed her degree online from some free psychiatric institute. Anyone who cannot tell the difference between the flu and a manic episode should probably not have a license, and I will see to it that she is reported to the state so that she cannot hurt anyone else. As far as Compass goes, when I was having yet another severe reaction to a second mood stabilizer prescribed while I was in-patient, I called their emergency line. That was a Thursday. They called me back the following Tuesday. I am incredibly disappointed and will make sure that these people never have a say in my health again. If my husband hadn't been there when Dr. Catherine acted the way she did, and I left with this persistent suicidal ideation, something uncommon to me personally, I should add, I can't imagine what would have happened. Shame on you for your horrendous idea of what it is to treat a patient.

Sophia Rivera

I had a great experience. Read some bad reviews and when I visited them I found out they have new management. The office staff was great, Dr. Park was amazing. He took the time to ask me questions and get to know me as a person. I highly recommend this group.

Morgan Gallo

It is crazy to me how horrible the staff is here. I thought the online reviews were silly but WOW they are so rude. As a mental health facility, it is appalling to me that they do not care about patients whatsoever. The other I walked in, and three staff were sitting at the desks talking to one another. I stood there for a good 60 seconds before they finally finished their conversation, looked at me and just said 'hey.' I will never go back here. I got my prescription and did what I needed but this place is disgusting.

Laura Moy

I was on hold for 30 min before I got through to the Florida office. After my first appointment they told me to email the Colorado office & someone would call me back. They did call back but how is this a good way to handle a medical office?

Shannon Baumgartner

Syndee Peterson

This place is AWFUL! The physciatrist was so rude and so unprofessional. The Dr wanted to put me back on Meds that almost killed me. I will NEVER go back there again!!

Shane McCoy

By far the worst company for behavioral health I wish I could give negative stars. Took my son there due to him dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. Long wait to speak with the front desk then was told that my 14 year old had to take a drug test that cost $25 which is ridiculous. Had to wait another 30 minutes to be called back. Once in the back the "Doctor" came in after about 15 minutes and only talked to my son for 5 minutes. He then stated that he had to go take care of another patient and we continued to wait for another 30 minutes. Once he finally returned he said he was going to put him on medication even though he had no idea what the problem was. I told him that I wanted to have him talk to someone before putting him on medication and he said that he couldn't do anything else and to have a nice day. They're all about money and pushing pills!

Evan Allison

15 years same meds. Wont refill my script Money grab

Company employs call center people who barely speak English and They are rude. You cannot ever get the local office number to speak directly with staff.

Clay Shropshire

I went in after seeing all the poor reviews thinking I was going to hate it. Instead, I was seen by great staff who took their time and put a lot of care into their job. The complaints from other reviews regarding wait times seems to be a seperate issue-; the phone line goes to an external call center which this location doesn't have control over.

Andrew Scott

I tried to setup a psych eval so I could include it with my application for a new contract job I am seeking. The call taker was rude, and they wanted to charge $400 for a 20 min eval.

Bobbi Eriksen

Absolutely the worst office I have even been to. The doctors are NEVER on time. Each time we have been here, appointments are running 30-60 minutes behind. Assistants are incompetent and unable to take vitals. Doctors come in, spend 3 minutes with us after we waited 55 minutes. That was it. Very unprofessional. We will finding other doctors for my son after this. I do not feel like they care about anything here.

Jessie Rosado-Floyd

My daughter was scheduled for a follow up here and Andrew the Clinical Assistant was excellent demonstrating empathy and positive reinforcement during my daughters intake. The Doctor was also excellent not being just an "order taker". Of course there was basic questions they had to ask but the treatment recommendation was consultative and supportive ensuring there was parental and patient buy-in. Excellent first visit and looking forward to my daughters med management at this provider.

Kimberly Blankenstein

I can't even write a real review of this place because I can't seem to get through on the phone. I've tried several times today and waited a while for someone to answer. I was referred through Beacon and Kaiser Permanente and am unable to get a human on the phone and the treatment I need through this place, so I give it a one star review.

Ross Larson

Overall this was a great experience. The woman who greeted me at the counter was very friendly, and my appt began right on time. The waiting room was also very comfortable. I've been to a few other places in town looking for the right fit for me, and I think i may have finally found it. Highly recommended.

Trenaway ElDaryl

I was set up through choice VA, through these people to see a physicist. I had at least three visits, with them telling me there was no problem, everything was covered through choice VA, then I received a bill and the corporate office telling me they do not. This is not the only issue. The doctor lied to me, twice about medications. This place is nefarious in their actions!

Richard Danda

Called them many many times in less than a week at various times throughout the day and no one ever picked up. Have to use the voicemail prompt and you may get through. Good for getting meds, about it.

S N

Terrible customer service and terrible patient care. After placing my son on medication, they failed to return my calls after 2 days when he started having worse symptoms. If a child is placed on psychiatric medications, the doctor should be monitoring them very closely. Especially if the parent has concerns that the medication is having negative effects. I am appalled by the level of disregard for their patients' wellbeing. In addition to this the staff is rude and calling the office to talk to anyone is extremely difficult. It honestly feels like more of a pill farm than a legitimate medical practice.

Tiffany Quick

NP didn’t put in my 2 prescriptions... The pharmacy attempted (via fax - set process between the two), to get approval for the scripts 4 times. I had to drive 35 min to go in the office to explain... at this point, I was overdue... lucky I had a little left. The staff was clueless... the other staff members tried to say one was canceled and didn’t acknowledge the second one that wasn’t filled. They consulted with the NP to verify... she advised I was supposed to reduce my dosage and I wasn’t getting one of them anymore. This is NOT what she said... I requested to be reduced on my own and the NP CLEARLY said that she didn’t want to do that yet and to stay at the same dosage I was at the time of the appointment... that the goal was to eventually get me down from where I am. Still, the NP denied she said that. They advised they would give me enough to bridge until my next appointment... at this time, it was TWENTY-FOUR days until my appointment and about 3 days overdue. They kept saying that they fixed it and “we gave you 7, split them in half, which would be 14 days worth. That is a big gap... a bridge that’s broken... they repeatedly said that it should last until my next appointment... now that they already submitted the 7... I won’t get the meds to bridge that gap... can’t do 2 scripts of same med and strength (per insurance). They kept trying to spin it to make it look like I didn’t follow directions on one of them, but it didn’t explain the other she didn’t fill at all. After going back and forth, I got the other filled... This could really put someone in danger... Sooo, that went wrong... only when I reminded the staff about the other script, did they remembered to approve it. The process is flawed. They have no ethics... no real urgency to them when it’s our (not theirs) mental health. It’s a joke. I will never recommend this place... Ever!

Mary and Sherena are good, but there is a huge interest in money and not doing any services without getting paid. Missing an appointment charges 60 dollars a time which is pretty pricey to me. That's at least two visits with copays. Mary won't do any forums unless paid and is very hostile towards her coworkers, even if a mistake is made. Sherena doesn't seem to have open availability but is a nice therapist.

Brandi Lowe

Hannah Chatterton

Every single time I call I'm on hold for at least 15 minutes before anyone ever picks up the phone.

Joe Phillips

Longtime patient! Consistent refill problems since I moved to the Colorado Springs location. Never had problems at the Highlands Ranch location. The past 2 1/2 years nothing but problems problems problems...no one is answering phone all week, left voicemail messages and the patient portal has been down stating for easier or friendlier way to use that site. Maintenance medications that I have been on and nothing has been said by Mary that I should NOT be taking. Very frustrating when you need help and you're not getting it!

Miss Jen

After being a patient for 3 years I have to say.. Stay away. Your mental health is crucial to your success and Compass Health prioritizes profits above patient care. The missed appointment fee is $60 which is well above industry standard of $25. Email and text are only used for contacting new patients and onboarding new dollars. Existing patients receive only calls and it's common for reminder calls not to be made. If you miss the appointment, you will still be charged. Most office staff are students from trade school. While this is likely affordable, and students need experience, the fact that student rotations for front office and med assistant roles outweigh permanent staff leave opportunities for patient experience to suffer. Appointment team is located in Maimi and is a call center. When you call to contact your provider, you will make contact with a call center employee, not a medical office professional. This leave patients in crisis in the hands of individuals who lack the appreciation for care to appropriately assist. Office has zero protocol for contacting patients who do not schedule follow up appointments. When meds run out, you will not be able to get a timely appointment [currently wait is 30 days +] and you will not be prescribed medication to care for yourself until your appointment. This is true regardless of patient history of keeping appointments. I really liked my provider. I do have to say when I came in, she was not experienced in treating post partum but we worked together and she did help me through some very difficult times. I hope this helps! If you or a loved one are working through mental health challenges. I wish you all the best!

Bailey G

Absolutely horrible experience here. Had Dr Pujwani, he only made eye contact with me 3 times in the two visits I had around a year ago. I left for a different psychiatrist elsewhere and told them I was leaving and they keep recharging me for a "no-show" appt that was never booked! On top of that, I have paid the fee 2 or 3 times already (just hoping to get rid of it and Compass Health Systems) and yet I STILL receive a balance for this no-show appt. The billing department is not reachable by phone OR email. The voicemail box is full and no one ever picks up the phone. Calling the front desk will set you on hold for around 45 minutes and then CLICK. They hang up. This place is awful.

Taylor Richardson

We like the doctor but I have to complain because it is nearly impossible to get anyone to answer the phone or return voicemail or email which they recommend that you use to contact them. It is very hard to get prescriptions and/or refills taken care of. I am changing my review from a 2 to a 1 because it has gone from Bad to WORSE!

Timothy Peterson

Compass Health is unethical. They want to charge me $50 to release medical records to my new provider. This sort of fee is unheard of and completely unethical. I intend to pursue this matter with the state of Colorado Division of Professions and Occupations.

Emyl Amantine

Amanda Dufour

It is very difficult to schedule an appointment. Even after an emergency, they refused to see me before my medication would run out. Also, it is extremely difficult to get anyone to answer the phone. They don't call back or answer messages. When they do answer, they're unhelpful. So far my treatment here has been expensive and nothing has been done to treat my most disturbing symptoms.

Anna Long

Horrible staff, I called to change my appointment and the lady on the other end spoke to me like I was an the biggest inconvenience of her day, and I had to switch doctors because mine is only there on fridays for half the day, that's ridiculous this is your chosen career step and actually do it!! Trying to schedule is so frustrating I will be looking for a new office. This office needs to get there sh*t together it's an absolute mess.

Monica Zimmerman

They treat you horribly here. They lost one of my cash payments. The charged me for paperwork they didn't do correctly. And when I tried to get my money back they discharged me. With no Dr to go to to manage my meds.

Robyn Tarin

Dario K Pompeii

Doctors are great, service is not. Every time I call to make an appointment, I expect to wait 30 MINUTES before anyone answers. Then I wait another 15 MINUTES for them to check if there's an opening for an appointment. This is EVERY time I CALL. I am switching doctor offices after 2 years with them, the service is consistently blood boiling.

Gabriel Myers

Doctors are great, Compass Health Customer service is nearly the worst I have ever encountered... They never answer their phones, don't call you back and seem to have 1 lady dealing with billing problems. Wish I could switch to a different provider and would if there was more availability in Colorado Springs... When I attempted to respectfully communicate my dissatisfaction with customer service to the customer service manager, he immediately responded that it was my opinion only and his only job was to solve my problem, not provide customer service. Truly one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with...

Faith McCune

If I could put 0 stars i would. These people never answer phones or help their patients the way they need to.

Dayana Concepcion

This place has the worst customer service!! They do not answer the phones and never return calls. When you go in their office, the staff are rude and disrespectful and are unwilling to help you even when you are right in front of them. Do not recommend this place to no one!!!!

Black Forest Phoenix

Of no value at all. Two visits to finally see a counselor who never did anything to find out why I was there, but who dispensed pabulum exercises with no idea what my issues were. To give some background, I have been through counseling elsewhere with positive effects. I have also spent more than two decades as a chaplain, counseling people myself, so I have some idea of what to expect in treatment. I asked for and received a referral to Compass due to unresolved grief issues that stemmed from numerous significant losses that happened within short order a few years before (3 parent deaths, complete loss of home in fire, young adult son badly injured & going through extensive rehab, loss of career, and more, all within 30 months.) Visit one: I didn't see a psychologist. Someone took a fairly extensive mental health background/inventory. The questions asked were on target and thorough, but I didn't get to see anyone for help that day. First copay down. Visit two: the therapist came in and told me that I would need to complete a mental health/background inventory with one of the staff. This told me she had never even looked at the records. I told her I had done so. She looked on her computer. "Oh. I see it's here." Without reading it she launched into a canned litany of self-care, self-calming exercises and spent about five minutes explaining each one and had me "practice" them for about 30 seconds. That is what my second session was. She never asked why I had come in. She had not read my record. She never engaged me in conversation about what I felt I needed or what underlay my problems. In short, I wasted two hours and two copayments for nothing. If I had been suicidal (I am not) I would have walked out of there convinced that nobody cared, I would not have written this, and you might have seen something about it on the six o'clock news.

Erin Kauhane

The staff exudes a lack of empathy and addresses serious issues in a stone cold and heartless manner. Compass health needs to wake up and realize that psychology is a profession designed to assist psychologically distraught individuals who are facing life threatening illnesses as opposed to a mere means of money making. I have never been more disappointed by a facility in my entire life!

Lina Santos

update review: called for refill on meds, got thru right away & PA called back within an hour to verify what was needed, picked up script within 3 hours of phone call! Excellent service! (Keep in mind our provider was out of town for 2 weeks during this). original review: Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews. I took my elementary aged son here for his first appointment last week. The check in process was smooth, they already had all of our insurance info done and ready, all I had to do was just give them a copy of my DL & insurance card. new patient paperwork was lengthy but it’s for a child so I’m glad they asked many questions. After a short wait we went to back, the girl who took us back was nice and professional. A PA came in within 3 mins, he asked more in depth questions, his purpose was to gather more info & make his own assessment that he later shared with Dr. P. Dr.P came in not long after the PA left, he answered the long list of questions & concerns, gave us a few options. Overall everyone from the lady at the front desk to the dr to the check out lady was extremely professional and nice to us. Don’t let the bad reviews scare you away. I almost didn’t go because of them & now I feel bad for passing judgment on their office based on reviews. This is mental health so not everyone will be happy. Taking the time to write this review because so many are bashing this place, others deserve to know about our positive experience.

Do NOT go here!!! Unethical and unacceptable. If I could give negative stars I would. I have never met such incompetence. Back in May of this year my doctor transferred here without communicating with me. So I contacted compass medical trying to set up an appointment to get refills, only to find out that i was being patched to a call center in Florida! Where I was accused of identity theft and treated VERY rudely. It was only until persistent calls that I was able to schedule an appointment that wouldn't happen till June! That meant more than a month with my medication! It wasn't until after more persistent calling that I got an appointment with a nurse practioner to get a refill that would last me till my next appointment! Then after meeting with the doctor in June and was told I would have enough medication to last me to December. It wasn't until a few weeks ago I found out that my prescription only had 1 refill on both my medications left. So I called compass medical and got the typical treatment of being told I had to do without my medication for a month. I emailed them and didn't get a response until a week later with a ridiculous inquiry of "Are you sure this hasn't been resolved yet?" I had a family member call them with no luck and even had another doctor call telling them it was urgent that I needed these meds! After over a week of calling I finally got a refill from my doctor with barely enough meds to make till our appointment in October. I don't know much about the hypocratic oath, but I know doctors are supposed to help their patients not ignore their pleas to help them with medication. I will be changing locations after my appointment in a few weeks. It is tragic that I know that I am not the only one who has had this experience. Not to mention I'd get more cooperation from a member of ISIS than this sorry excuse for a office!

Kevin Dickens

Do not answer the phone! Disconnect lines early turning them over to voicemail stating that are closed half hour early when still open.

Victoria Hedenstrom

What a waste of time! The only reason I would give a star at all is because the people in this office were awesome. The unfortunate part of this entire experience is that I was set up for an appointment that was completely unwanted and unnecessary. Apparently the phone goes to the corporate office which is filled with people who don't have a clue. So... after spending almost an hour and a half, I am finally told what the purpose of the appointment is for and it is not why I called to make one in the first place. I walked out. I am so angry right now. So much wasted time for all of us. I'm calling the insurance company as this borders on fraud. If I receive any bill from this company, I will send it to them in pieces and call the state ag. Absolutely unbelievable.

Hugo Calvaron

I thought the other reviews on here might have been one-off issues and didn't represent the staff fairly... turns out I was WAY wrong. They are a mental health organization, but their staff has no business interacting with any patients, let alone patients with mental health trouble. They were extremely rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Constant scoffing and rolling of eyes when asking questions. My wife called in yesterday to give them her insurance ID number so they could process the pre-auth. We get there today and they didn't even write down her member number let alone start the pre-auth. I had to re-call my insurance and get the number, give it to them, and then she didn't write it down and asked if I could just re-schedule and email the number. Then they told my wife there would be possibly be a charge for not attending the appointment today that THEY didn't prepare for. We were 15 min early to the appointment and they couldn't be bothered to do a thing. Hopefully I can help steer people away from these people who have no business interacting with patients. If you need help or someone you know needs help, please make sure they go somewhere compassionate, understanding, and professional. DO NOT GO HERE.
