My experience is only with the adolescent section for my daughter. The Good: She was in a safe place with round the clock care. She really liked the techs there. The psychiatrist got her medication straightened out and she is doing much better. It seemed to give her a sense of "reality" as to what a mental facility was like and she is not eager to go back. The showers have amazing water pressure. The food was good. Everyone I talked to there was very nice - even if they couldn't always help me. (They did try to help when they could). The Bad: My daughter is about 120lbs and was complaining that she was not getting enough food. She was getting sick from being hungry. I cannot even imagine how the boys must have felt. The psychiatrist visits lasted about 4-5 minutes. There was only 1 1on1 with a therapist - it lasted 10 minutes. The group therapy was not helpful. It was not well controlled. It easily got out of hand and did more to scare her than encourage her. The ones who made the most noise got the most attention. Etc. They gave us a schedule of activities that were supposed to happen daily - it was never followed. They told us we could call any time. We tried to call - *then they told us there were scheduled hours. We left messages for our daughter that we called - she did not get them. There was a "known" problem with the phones to the adolescent ward - any time you called it would be busy. I left a bag of things for my daughter. She didn't get them. They were being held at the nurses station. I had to question the front desk and physically wait there for them to find the bag and get it to her. They also never gave her the picture her little brother drew for her - and it was not waiting in her things when she was released. There are only 2 thin sheets on the bed - in January - in Colorado. I was allowed to bring in a blanket, but it counted as one of the 2 comfort items she could have from home. The bottom line: they're not going to do enough counseling to uncover any major issues - seek outside counseling for that. This will be just enough to get the situation back to safe - but I am pretty sure that's all it's meant for. As a parent, be prepared to follow up on messages, phone calls, anything you bring in, etc. The more you hold them accountable, the more you will get out of it.

They hire counselors who were just licensed in Jan of 2018 who then in April of 2018 say they are really good at their job and then lie. Not sure if it is out of incompetence or if they think they know something so it's ok to lie to get a result that a counselor feels they want? Tons of conflicting information. Tons. No one in this place knows what they are doing and it is to the detriment of the patient..... Children! This place is totally independent and not affiliated with anyone. No one knows anything about them. They hire inexperienced staff...... One of which is highly unethical. Patient beware. Parents please don't let them get ahold of your child.

I was sent to Clear View for a voluntary 72-hour hold related to suicidal ideation. This facility's ability to meet my needs was appalling. I have autism and need a text-to-speech communication device to supplement my communication. They withheld it from me for two days, citing the need for a doctor's confirmation. They put no effort into getting that confirmation until I became adversarial and made it clear that I was not leaving them alone until they gave me my legal right to appropriate communication. This facility also tried to take me off the SSRI that my GP prescribed for me and that I have been taking for over four years. They took away my medication with inappropriate tapering over the course of only two days, and forced me to take a new medication that I had never tried, without asking me what I wanted, and without speaking to my GP. They threatened that if I didn't take it, I would be kept inside longer due to "medication refusal". I was supposed to be there for only 72 hours, but was bullied and threatened into remaining for five days. After my 72 hours was up, they asked me to sign a voluntary admission form allowing them to keep me longer. They said if I didn't sign it, they would put me on an involuntary hold for another 72 hours. They essentially coerced me into allowing them to keep me confined against my will without any legal or medical cause. Wherever you go for mental health services, make sure it is not Clear View Behavioral Health; they are a for-profit hospital and are interested in nothing but your money, and the care I received there makes that obvious.

Will not help at all for someone who desperately needs is.

Horrible place, I would not want my loved one here for any reason. No real therapy, understaffed, poor physical environment. Most regulations violated. Staff is very unhappy and often just don't show up to work, even the therapists. Reception area is often unmanned, even when releases are signed no information is given to family members. I personally witnessed the smuggling of items by visitors. No clear objectives to "group therapy", inability of staff to articulate goals, even to patients. Schedule of activities is not maintained. Areas are so cold that most people wear lots of clothes. No consistency for patients.

This hospital should be shut down. It's 99% group therapy, which is a lot of crazy people complaining, it's triggering for most patients! Dr West (who is the only actual doctor there -- treating 7 units!) doesn't maintain eye contact, doesn't see patients more than literally 3 minutes at a time - if you're lucky. He ruined my life with his diagnosis and I can't refute it. It was made without any time spent with me and also without reviewing any of my prior medical records. The med he gave me made my heart rate unstable and they refused to get me to a hospital even though my heart rate wouldn't go below 110bpm. They had me on 3 meds within 24 hours and not a single call was made to my prior doctors to make sure I was okay to take it. I almost died coming off of the medicine. Literally. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Don't send your loved ones. The patient advocate never called me back. Guess I sounded too smart to be heard. The food is okay sometimes, cooks are nicest people ever. Some of the staff was amazing ! alex, Carlos, Kylie, becca, and Kyle stand out. Red and music therapy is the ONLY thing this place does right. My first day a patient tried to jump off the roof. They didn't stop him in time! They don't stop patients from self harm, either. It's so cold on unit 400. Just that one unit is below 60 degrees. I even talked to the COO Patrick about it and the fact that I had to sleep in wet clothes the first night they wouldn't get me a fresh set and I was admitted on a moments notice. They didn't deliver my messages from missed calls, even people on the list.

Rachel

Called numerous times and left messages asking them to call me back because I was trying to get in an out-patient program. I was struggling badly and needed more therapy than my normal once a week session with someone unrelated to this program. It's a few months later and I've never once heard back from anyone. Shows how much they care about helping right? I got into a treatment program at Mountain Crest after giving up on Clearview. I 100% recommend you start there instead of wasting your time trying to get help here.

I have never in all my years of practice as a Social Worker myself EVER been treated with such disrespect from a therapist before. We took my husband's mother here with the intent of getting help. Phone calls were not returned, the only call we received was when to come pick her up. No discharge planning with us, her care givers. There was no input from family allowed, we were told it wasn't our place. Then when we tried to speak we were told the therapist 'didn't want to argue.' Wow I really thought this place was somewhere to get help, but apparently only if we sit down and shut up. I would advise anyone seeking help to please look at other avenues, there are many more places that will help you in a desperate situation without completely degrading you as a person. We were not even in this place and now need therapy because of it.

I was at Clearview from February 2, 2018 to February 12, 2018 due to relapse to alcohol and a suicide attempt. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is battling a mental illness as most of the staff members are very professional and supportive of the patients. I was in unit 200 and actually made some friends there and felt the team, from the cook all the way up to the doctors, knew what they were doing and communicated their ideas and opinions very clearly. I only had one negative experience with a MHR who I knew was going to be uncooperative. I forget her name but she was probably between the ages of 20-24. She has dirty blond hair, slightly overweight, and spent most of her time messing around and making jokes with the other MHR's. I was feeling rather low on the Friday before I left so I tried to talk to her and all she had to say was to go watch the documentary on TV. Very cold and impersonal. If the administration can figure out who I'm talking about I think it would be in the hospital's best interest to fire her. Otherwise, my experience there was quite positive.

Recently discharged. Staff is incredibly competent, but held up by the red tape of executives. Denied necessary medication the first two nights. Sending a letter tomorrow further detailing my experience. I can only hope they'll take it seriously. I really hope those who actually inspired me here find better employers and realize their true potential. The kitchen staff, and the Rec girl ROCK. Props to, in no particular order, Abby, Christy and Kip.

My experience with this place is having enough energy to power through life knowing that im not alone and have people like me. Then again I am only 12... I would love to volunteer for more time.... but with the depression, and suicidal tendencies, some of the people who worked there, helped me a lot. It was amazing.

My teen has been to a few different places for mental health THIS PLACE WAS/IS AMAZING...All the staff are hands on caring compassionate people my teen was able to come home with tools she needs to help her cope with her mental health in a positive way So so very thankful for clear view and their staff

I cannot even rate this place. Maybe a -100 This mental facility is a scam that extends the stay of it patients to rip off patients and insurance providers with no justification. Staff never contacts you or informs you why an extended hold is required. Finance never calls you back. They force your family member to sign their rights away and if you don't you face legal and insurance being dropped for coverage. My son went to the doctor for constipation and they put him on mental hold for 72 hours based on hearsay. This quackery mental health stated, my son will be there for 5-10 days for no reason. As for the facility I have seen jail cells with better facilities. This company should be shut down as they are abuse the system and patients. Lawsuits should be filed by everyone whomever has had a family member sent to this so-called hospital.

OMG Dont ever send anyone here for treatment. Horrible hospital.

I was there for an attempted suicide, in November. The people I was with were nice, but the staff were not the best. Kaija (not sure if I spelt that right) was one of the only staff that was an okay staff member. That and the chefs. I never got 1 on 1 time with a therapist. While a girl was having a panic attack, the nurse continued to say things that made her panic more. When I had an anxiety attack and that girl was simply holding my hand to help me, we both got yelled at resulting in worse anxiety. They did get me on right meds, but overlooked anything for hallucinations. One staff member told everyone that I had lied, about me being autistic despite the fact that I am. This made lots of the other people with me, very much hostile towards me. The staff members most of them joked about those on unit 6, psychosis, and only one ever apologized for this. As well as this, there was not good discipline for when someone did something wrong. A kid told me I was going to be r/ped and murdered resulting in me having a panic attack. He did not get into any trouble. As well as this, I was denied a room mate due to being transgender. They told me it was illegal for me to have one, which ended up them denying me a roommate for bring trans was illegal. I would advise to not send your mentally ill family/friends here.

Dear fellow human being who is looking for support and understanding seeking help with mental health, I am a former patient at Clearview Behavioral Health in Johnstown, Colorado. It was my only attempt at self harm and a very impulsive act at a very vulnerable time in my life. I was told that the majority of treatment was in a group format, yet there were only 3 groups of an educational model the entire week I was there. I requested to see a counselor many times, but only saw one twice in one week for "discharge planning" and I was never given the opportunity to speak with staff about my act of self harm except for the night nurse for 20 minutes. The psychiatrist only saw me once for less than 15 minutes and the nurse practitioner saw me for less than 30 minutes the entire week. When I asked my so called counselor to speak with my husband to reassure him that my actions of self harm was not his fault, the counselor said "He can get his own therapy. I am here just to discharge you". This person had met with me and my husband on our first day but made it clear that this was only to discuss discharge planning and not a therapy session. I am tempted to call my insurance company to tell them that this so called therapy was a fraud because it not occur. There were not enough staff to monitor some of the more psychotic and confused patients some of which would come out of there room naked. The patients assisted staff many times in redirecting these poor patients who could not find their rooms. The unit was very very cold at night and even after complaining many times to the patient advocate, nothing changed. Luckily I had resources for my husband to bring in long underwear etc. I had 4 layers of clothing on and 5 blankets and still felt cold. The food was very unhealthy and dinner was served at 430pm and a very light snack usually unhealthy such as popcorn. Nevertheless we were hungry at night but were often refused food because there was none to offer. The staff were nice but very understaffed. Nurses did not have time to do groups. They barely had time to give medications. The aids were overworked and often stated that they got too tired and were very stressed. I am writing this to benefit future patients and the staff at Clearview who are understaffed. I hope it does some good.

This post is my most detailed followup review for 12 2018 I am adding this review out of respect for doctors and staff at Clearview. The service I have received currently for my wife has been outstanding and greatly improved. The staff have been very responsive to my wife's medical needs. Also, exceptionally responsive to me, I have gained an awareness and a great respect and appreciation of the daily challenges the doctors and staff are faced with each day. Thanks to the outstanding Dr. Baalun and the nurses on duty. The service was outstanding. I rate the service and staff as AAA to outstanding. The food could use a little improvement. Overall I am satisfied with the overall results and service.

By far the worst facility I've had my son in!! He was discharged May 5th 2017 and no discharge plan. He was pail, skinny and dirty. Talk about neglect. I will never ever have my son put in a place like this ever again. I don't even know how it's still operative.

The only reason I am giving this review a star is because I have to be able to write this post ~ Back in late fall, our daughter was admitted to Clear View Behavioral Health facility in Johnstown, CO. While she was an impatient at this facility, there were many occasions that no contact or communication was made between the professionals or staff with us as her parents and guardians. On the second day of her residency at Clear View, she was told by staff members that there could be no call, outbound or inbound, or visit from her sister. Come to find out after talking to a supervisor, she informed me that my daughter is able to have inbound calls from us, her parents and her sister. Also, with a 24 hour notice, and IF staff is available, a supervised visitation could be arranged. Per Clear View’s guidelines, parents or/and grandparents could visit a patient at designated times, which is completely reasonable, however, the lack of caution and supervision on these visitations were alarming. The visitors would put their personal belongings into a locker and all visitors (and many times there were as many as 10 - 15 adults) would follow a staff member to the gym where there was 1 (one) long table for everyone to congregate. On a few of our visits, there were numerous families trying to be private in an environment that was absolutely not conducive to do so. In addition, there was only 1 (one) staff member, NOT a supervisor of the facility chaperoning the entire gym, in fact, there was NO supervisor at all on site. No security measures were never taken, no metal detectors, we were never wanded or even asked if we had any “harmful” items on us. The absence of communication, professionalism and safety at Clear View renders no rationalization or excuse of what transpired for my daughter’s discharge. Her father and sister picked her up in the early evening where no family meeting occurred to go over a safety plan or follow up. When reviewing the discharge paperwork at a later date, the counselor had my daughter, of 12 years old, sign her own safety plan. Again, there was no further instructions or after care concern for her. The Discharge/Continuing Care Plan was never shared with her father nor was signed by him or the Physician that was overseeing her mental health concerns. In addition, the Medication Reconciliation Admission & Discharge Orders were completely incorrect and again were not signed by the Discharge Attending Physician. Tragically, less than 24 hours of my daughter’s discharge from Clear View Behavioral Health, she attempted suicide. What could have been a fatal event was caught in time by the arrival of her father coming home from work and finding her incoherent and mostly unresponsive. Through this terrifying and horrible experience which included, my daughter being intubated and air lifted from the Loveland, CO hospital to the Children’s Hospital in Denver, CO where she was placed in ICU and later placed in the Children’s Hospital Psychiatric Unit then later transferred to an impatient facility in west Denver, we have been told the actions of Clear View was not only inadequate but unethical. It is my main concern that no other parent or loved one ever has to go through this same encounter. I truly feel the neglect of information, resources or guidance from Clear View lead to unpreparedness for her transition from an impatient facility back into her home. I am in the process of pursuing this issue with outside legal. PLEASE DO NOT ADMITT ANYONE YOU KNOW OR LOVE INTO THIS FACILITY!

I am a retired US investigator my wife was admitted to Clearview for treatment. 1st The physical facility was nice. The staff were very helpful to me. I give the lack of communication between themselves was little to none. The place is run by inexperienced some people who can care less about each other let alone the patience. Just a lot of young people with a job to gain experience to leave. The living conditions for patients was worse than a prison of convicted killers. Horrible is the only way to explain or describe the conditions. If you have any other options for any one you care for, I recommend you take them elsewhere. This shows a lack of caring snd bery little progress since the 1930s. The food is better st Popeyes Chichen. The managers of that Clearview Behavior Health facility should be trained or fired. The owners of the facility are simply taking money and not providing the services that being paid for. This facility is a disgrace to the comminity and the profession of mental healthcare I plan to write a personal experience review ebery month until zi personality receive a none standard feedbavk response. This is my first written review.

May or may not get hatred for this, but I want to give a response from my perspective. I am an employee, have been for over a year now. And I will admit that when I started at Clear View, I realized that some changes needed to be made. But I am happy to say that this facility has changed in many ways, all for the better. I have appreciated working here and will continue to do so for many reasons. The first being that in the last 6-7 ish months we have worked to better Clear View as a whole from higher up staffing, all the way to Mental health techs, house keeping, maintenance, and the kitchen. We work hard every single day to assure our patients and ourselves are safe. We take great pride in our jobs, and it’s a shame that the media only shows what they want to show. We have new administration that we adore very much and know from their past experience that they will make Clear View into an even better hospital. What most patients and outsiders don’t understand, is majority of staff (at least most MHT’s) that work at Clear View use to be patients themselves years back in other facilities. Which gives us a different background knowledge on how to treat people and how to run a hospital. We try our hardest in everything we do. We have meetings and trainings left and right, and sometimes it feels as though we will never be good enough because people believe what they hear not what they experience. ( Which is not outsiders fault the media has a good way of spinning things.) but I want all of you to know I’m not sure about everyone else I work with, but I read the reviews. I read them, I study them, and I try to better whatever I feel I have the power to change. We hear you, and we respect you, we listen, and we change for you. No place is perfect, but from my first day working to now, I can honestly say that I would come here if I needed to and be a patient. I would send a family member here. I would recommend coming here to any and all people seeking the help they need. And it’s not because I work here, it’s not for the paycheck,( because believe me if I was here for the money I wouldn’t still be here) I’m here and continue to stay with Clear View because they will grow to do incredible things. I’m here because I believe in amazing patient care. I’m here because it is in my soul to help & I want you all reading this to know, if I didn’t believe that Clear View had patient care at the top of their list, and the best team to dig us out of our rut, I wouldn’t stay but here I am and here I’ll stay. Love, an MHT

Thomas Kind

My wife was hospitalized here in order to stabalize her medications. They did that okay. But her stay there was like being in jail. I got fed up when I went to visit her, and the information given was wrong about visiting hours. I ended up waiting around for two hours to see her. Then while I was sitting in the waiting room, got scolded for having a cell phone. When they moved her, she had to walk some distance to the dining area, and that was difficult for her as she had just had a knee replacement. She wasn't allowed to shower and change into clean clothes during her stay. I will never use this place again if I can help it.

cody c

this place was hell. the therapists didnt try to help, only a few techs cared. staff would yell and talk back to patients and it would trigger people severely. i was there for 9 days and they didn’t give me my clothes until around day 4-5. i had asked and asked and they rever did anything about it. they didn’t end up letting me have my clothes until i made it apparent that i wouldn’t leave them alone until they gave them to me. when i arrived they never gave me a wrist band and they never ended up doing it. if i could give this place a lower review than one, i would.

Great place

They will keep you here for 10 days and not even provide basic necessities like underwear. It was completely inhumane and completely disgusting. They didn’t provide individual therapy, you don’t learn anything from coming here, it’s just a matter of counting down the days until you finally get out

Lynda Olin

Irresponsible, lack of accountability and dangerous policies that do not protect patients. Do not allow yourself or a loved one to enter this facility. Our family member was admitted for emotional and stress related issues. Had no prior history of substance abuse but was housed near and allowed to interact with another patient that is a heroin addict and has absconded from parole in another state. Once the two connected in the facility it was too late. The facility allowed an addict to prey on an emotionally vulnerable patient. They never should have been allowed to meet in the first place and I blame this facility for providing an environment that allowed it to happen and not keeping patients safe. As soon as they were both released, they got connected outside and now my family member is involved in some serious things that were never a problem before. The family member went in for support of emotional and stress issues and came out to a being drawn into a very dangerous and frightening life path and is now homeless. Loss of family, loss of almost everything and the path forward is very bleak. I blame this facility for not protecting patients from predators in their facilities. And yet when we tried to contact administration for answers, they do not return calls. I see that they respond to these posts with a plea to call the patient/family advocate. What good would that do? We (and others) have tried to contact someone, but get nowhere. What makes us believe anything would change if we called the advocate? To make you feel better that you have reached out after the fact? After the damage has been done? You can't appease me. You have seriously harmed our family. Is there no accountability for this type of management? They are failing their patients - our family members. In fact, they are facilitating failure. Other reviews have cited poor managment, lack of accountability and poor communication. Where does this end? How many patients have to be sacrificed before something is done? Shouldn't they be there to help rather than facilitate harm? Recommendation: run far away from this facility. If you need help, find somewhere else unless you want to end up much worse off than when you went in. One would think their mission is to help people improve their lives rather than facilitate their fall into the dark depths of a life of drugs, homelessness and who knows what else. They just don't care that their actions have caused heartbreak for more than just the patient that they were supposed to be helping. An entire extended family is now in severe distress, children's lives have been ripped apart and elders are heartbroken. All because this facility did not protect a vulnerable patient from a predator.

It makes me so sad to see all of these negative reviews about CVBH. I have been to almost every single psychiatric hospital in Colorado, and Clear View is no question one of the best. There have only been two hospitals that I've gone to and actually felt that I got something out of it and Clear View is one of them. If I were to ever need help again or if I had a loved one that needed help, I would take them to Clear View without thinking twice. The last time I was there, I was able to skip the emergency department and take myself straight there and get the help I needed. The staff at Clear View CARE. The MHT's there are such loving and compassionate people. They could be getting paid the same amount elsewhere where they aren't potentially getting hit or having to restrain people- they work here because they want to help people. Paige, Brie, Dawn, and Jordan were a few of the MHT's that were really helpful to work with. I definitely felt that they treated me as less of a patient and more of a human. Their support and insight gave me so much hope. The nurses are such caring people and really attend to every need you have in such a timely matter. Brooke & Brittaney both had so much consideration for all of the patients which was much appreciated. The therapists are WONDERFUL. Lindsey took her time to help me and make sure I was ready to discharge. She kept close contact with my outpatient team and did everything in her power to help. Kara is also super wonderful and is such a great advocate for her patients. The doctor for my first two stays was incredibly disrespectful, but I was appreciative that during my last stay I had a different doctor. I appreciated that CVBH listened to all of the patients about the first doctor and actually took productive measures to ensure that we wouldn't have to go through that again. The rec therapists are also wonderful and it's a relief to be able to do things on a daily basis that helps the negativity quiet down for a bit. The A&R therapists are amazing and Alex was super compassionate towards my situation and was super helpful during the admission process. Clear View is an AMAZING hospital and I 100% recommend it.

They do not allow patients to communicate with friends and family. I believe that this facility is in need of funds and keeps people unnecessarily sedated such that they can keep them longer than they need to stay. It's all about the money.

Miller B

Horrible nightmare! even if the state allows it to be open, they have gone too far and will continue to use and abuse - they have zero intention of doing better by patients and only aim to figure out how to fool officials. Shut it down forever and don't allow the company or its employees to go near patients ever again.

This place needs to be shut down

I was the happiest I’d ever been in a long time while I was there. The endless coloring and activities and therapy were relaxing and gave me time to focus on myself. The staff was nice but I could tell they were stressed which came out on the patients sometimes and they were understaffed which was stressful for everyone. Loved the food and environment though.

Horrible place for people wanting help. Staff lost my belongings, don't give important phone messages, don't introduce themselves when speaking to you. Filthy filthy place. The trays food is served on are filthy and the glass separating the food from the food line was so filthy, you couldn't even see what food you can chose from. Nicole at the front desk must hate her job. She told a client coming in for outpatient therapy that she was going to "blow her gasket". She is somewhat rude. Lindsey, a therapist, was the only one who was kind and helpful. She was the one who fought to get my husband out of the acute unit he was put in incorrectly, into a unit more suited to his needs. She is also the one who fought to get him released. I do not recommend this place for mental health help. Now, if you want to find a date, this may be the place for you. Nothing but the dating game and who steal the most snacks. No real help. Total chaos. The tech allow the clients to scream, tell, act like children and over talk people on groups trying to share their issues.

KANDI the AWSOME

Momma Bear was the best one there and everyone was so good with all of the people there. I loved it!

Bridget Vandel

Do not send your loved ones here if you wish to really get them help. No one there knows whats going on and when defending themselves every single one of them gave the same answer...."I'm new here." The doctor NEVER ONCE called me back. They kept my loved one 18 hours past the 72 hour hold with out explanation or reason. They refuse to give my loved one their medical records, even though they are required to if askes by law. They drugged my loved one up with the wrong medication and administered the proper medication wrong. The medication was supposed to be taken sublingualy and they had him swallow it so it didn't take proper effect. During the family meeting the therapist talked more about himself and his wife then he did about the situation at hand. They did a lot of shady stuff to try and cover their own tails. I highly recommend doing your research before admitting a loved one to this facility. It was quite disturbing experience to say the least. It did way more harm then good.

Below I have listed many situations I experienced at Clear View I was placed here for a failed suicide attempt after hanging myself. I was released on the 2/7/17 after just 3 days here I experienced the worst treatment imaginable. Upon entering Clear View I was first admitted 2 a drug detox unit. I explained 2 them that I have never used drugs this must be a mistake, They told me there wasn’t any space available in the acute adult unit 4 adults with depression and anxiety. They decided the drug detox unit was not properly suited 4 me & moved me, but not 2 the appropriate unit. They again claimed that there was no room for me on the fitted unit & moved me 2 the acute unit 4 adults with schizophrenia & hallucinations. On this unit the staff here deliberately provoke clients into having meltdowns. Another huge problem I had on this unit was with this male staff, we were having a group & this very young girl who would often just start crying out of nowhere started 2 cry out, but she wasn't disruptive about it when it started she would excuse herself. She was very sweet & obviously struggling with more than I could imagine. After she excused herself this Staff started making jokes about her crying out how it sounded like cackling 2 the entire group. I had then jumped in & said “It’s not appropriate nor professional 4U2 joke about any client especially in front of the group, Not to mention morally wrong.” He replied “But I think it is funny” “If u think it’s that funny why don’t u joke about it in private then because I don’t think mental illness is a joke I don’t believe anyone in this group finds it funny either” I responded. Again his response was this “I can’t joke about it when I am not here cuz it violates confidentiality I think it’s funny like cancer jokes & ur dancing” “Excuse me” I replied, “My dancing? Im in a wheelchair & no cancer isn’t a joke either I fought 4 years of my life battling that disease have lost many family members 2 it!" That's when he really crossed the line said, “u know ur seizures… Dancing its funny.” This was the same staff member who saw me fall out of my bed have a seizure & leave me on the floor failed 2 get me help or make sure I was okay. This is when I realized that the Patient Rights Advocate was nothing but a cover up specialist using our mental illness as an excuse for such undignified treatment as if we deserve 2b treated like pigs in a slaughter house. he was not held accountable 4 his actions 2 any degree. Myself & the entire group told the group leader of the next group about it & all it was was just that us telling nobody caring. I saw enough here 2 make my stomach turn 2 mashed potatoes. I do not feel I got the help I needed I do not feel like patients R being treated fairly here. The clients don’t get anything really 2 do but roam & go nuts staff claims the higher ups took the tv remotes from them so thats why we couldn't watch tv. I said what I had 2 say 2 get out of there, told them what they wanted 2 hear. I may b depressed & have anxiety but I still don’t think I deserved 2b treated like this nor did the other patients I witnessed being treated badly. This place needs 2 have an internal investigation & b shut down.

A family member was here for a few days to help deal with a serious mental illness. I was very hopeful at first, in part because of the highly touted program and promise of followup and involvement of family, which is key for situations like this. My family member did not allow me access to his medical records. His therapist called me and collected as much information as I could give him. So far so good. Because of HIPAA rules, his therapist could not disclose his diagnosis, treatment plan, or medication, but did offer to set up a family meeting and asked me to keep him apprised of my perspective of his treatment if his condition improved. His condition did not improve in over a week of treatment, and I left several messages with that indication with his care team. Not one call was returned. When we came again to visit yesterday, we discovered he had been discharged without medication, proper care or follow-up or notification, and is currently missing. Of course, we were not notified, and so a long trip and several hours were wasted driving. His therapist still has not returned any of my phone calls, from the time he was being treated, until today, a day after he has been released. Two phone calls to the clinic director in the past 24 hours have not been returned or acknowledged. I am appalled at the level of health care for mentally ill in Northern Colorado. The homeless problem is directly related to the wasted efforts of highly trained and well qualified individuals, who in my opinion are slaves to policies that are dollar driven and not health driven. As a result of his mistreatment at Clear View Behavior Health, the lack of family involvement, and the lack of a proper treatment plan, my family member is again homeless and missing. I would not recommend this facility to anyone that is expecting proper care for a mentally ill family member or friend. I will update this review if I am contacted by the staff at Clear View. Responding to this post in a public forum is not necessary, if you cannot professionally and adequately respond to a patient in need in a private one. TL;DR Do Not Recommend due to lack of communication and lack of adequate treatment.

Be warned. While projecting a professional & clean image due to their new facility, Clear View Behavior Health suffers from lack of process, inhospitable living arrangements for their patients, poor communication management from their leadership and staff and very slow to discharge upon request. Lack of Process After days of gaining trust from a family member to self admit to a hospital for focused help, the individual finally accepted that he/she needed help and we went to the facility. The admission process began at 5:30PM and it wasn't until 1AM that my elderly family member was admitted. Inhospitable Living Conditions While the facility looks clean and corporate during admissions, be advised that the living situation and treatment for the patient is not a far cry from what we've come to expect from the movies of the '80s. The room that my family member was admitted to was extremely cold and a man with dimentia wandered into his/her room throughout the night. It wasn't until I demanded that my family member be transferred to a hospitable room that anything was done to address the cold room complaints (the staff ignores the comfort requests). The food is the same grade as what I had growing up in grade school. Poor Communication Management The facility staff do not explain the treatment philosophy or plan at the onset. While my family member is able to cal out, the leadership and staff of the facility do not return my calls to help me understand and address the concerns of my family member. Slow to Discharge Upon determining that the facility was not a good fit for my family member I'm trying to get him/her discharged. It appears as though the staff are dragging their feet to do so on direction of the CEO, even though she agreed to discharge my mom over 14 hrs. ago. ***************** Clock is ticking Clear View Behavioral Health - how long is it going to take to make good on your commitment Lana Currance (CEO)?

This facility is staffed by kind nurses and indifferent doctors. Intake took over four hours, two of which I was left completely alone in a locked room. Either the facility was understaffed or didn't care, but either way it was detrimental to my healthcare. My assigned doctor chose not to see me in person until I had been in the facility for two and a half days, which is illegal. Administration tried to pass off a Nurse Practitioner as my doctor, which she was not. My doctor saw me in person for a grand total of 30 minutes, over the entire five days I was in the facility. One meeting took place in the common area, standing at the nurses' station. It lasted for three and a half minutes. Very informal and careless approach to critical mental health care, and violated a patient's right to privacy with their doctor. My doctor refused to discharge me after my mandatory hold was finished, citing "we don't discharge on weekends". This is untrue, and not a policy of the facility. The following day, Saturday, a different patient was discharged. Clearly the doctor was not concerned with my wishes, but only concerned with putting off paperwork until Monday morning. This caused me to miss work, which I explained to the staff when I asked to be discharged on Friday. Administration placed a violent and angry person in my non-violent unit, due to social politics in that patient's original unit. This was detrimental to my care and the care of many of the other patients. Discharge, when it finally happened, took three hours of waiting around and bureaucracy. Unbelievably slow and frustrating. The nursing staff was caring, personable, and kind. They and the food were the only good things about my stay at Clearview. Never before have I felt so belittled and uncared for by mental health "professionals". There is a reason the nursing staff is always turning over: the good ones realize they can do no good here, and the bad ones get fired. Whatever you do, DO NOT send yourself or your loved ones to Clearview Behavioral Health. Administration and Staff care not for your mental health.

THE worst place for anyone to be in. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! My brother was transferred here from the hospital trying to get help. They made brother insane. He developed serious anxiety, depression and not to mention PTSD. My brother committed suicide in December because of this place.

Liliana Weide

There are some good staff here, but most of them are extremely rude and they instigate the patients. They do not help. I felt worse when I left than when I came

Stefan Stuck

The staff were good people, however the doctors are not. They kept everyone who was there at that time longer than the mandatory 72 hours except people who didn't have health insurance. They came up with no good reason to keep me longer. but they did. I was there a total of 5 days. Now I'm stuck with a $2000 bill.

My son went here after a skateboard crash led to a concussion and other reactions. We have excellent insurance that covered 100%. They held him longer than the hold by doctors who said nothing more than "Hi, how is your day". They were seeking a three month hold, telling me all is paid for so you should not worry. We had to refuse insurace submission and put on self pay for a sliding scale (for son with no income) and then they decided he was fine and discharged him the day before court where they a day previous were seeking an extended 3 mo hold.

Understaffed unhappy workers. To put it shortly, it actually felt like prison and I've never felt so useless in my life

My wife self-admitted herself due to depression, and went into the 55+ unit which was very uncrowded. One previous hospitalization was 18 years ago and wasn't so voluntary that time. This time, she was discharged 3 billing days later, which was actually faster than we thought (but probably consistent with how fast she improved), somewhat negating the impression in other reports that they hold you longer than necessary (and we do have good insurance). When I took her to the ER, she was tired, no appetite, slow in movement, slurring words, and I feared days to being in real trouble if we didn't do something. She told me that going to the hospital was the last place she wanted to go (based on past experience), but she felt like she needed to go, so she went. While no secured hospital like this can possibly be a great experience (the secured facility is a shock for sure), the staff, nurses, and therapists were kind and patient, and my wife really did recover quicker than I thought. I can't really identify any one thing that helped her, but the staff was really caring and kind. The rules do seem crazy at times, but are based on experience in the industry that lead to rules are are not just particular to this facility. There are things we wish they would improve. Sunshine is a key ingredient in getting over depression, and the patients were inside almost all the time. We read that exercise is almost as good as medicine, and they got little. They gave out pathetic small quantities of generic cheap soap, deodorant, and toothpaste, so after a couple of days the patients really do smell. But, overall, it was as positive experience and outcome as I think you can expect. Other units with adolescents and younger adults will likely have their own unique challenges, but ours was good. Many have posted to not allow your loved ones to ever go here, but I dread to think if my wife hadn't. I might have even lost her. Thank goodness for help when we needed it.

Horrible place to work!!! Scandal after scandal. A They do not care about the patients or staff safety, just money and numbers. State came in and almost closed the place down for its filth and violations. Management is the worst!!! They will lie, and tell u anything. The turnover there is absolutely horrible, I started with 36 in 1 year I was the only one left. Dont waste your time working for this company, it will only be a waste of your time!!! Find a career elsewhere if you are a professional and value yourself as an employee!! I wouldn't even rate this place one star!!!

Carrie Campbell Broughton

Our experience was that the staff from the front desk to the food service staff was kind and compassionate. Being able to have an intake into the program without going through the emergency room was convenient and less traumatic than the usual intake process. One area that was somewhat misleading is that the staff person that called herself the therapist actually functioned in more of a case manager role. The title was confusing in that she was not meeting one on one with the patients as is usually the case with a therapist. The nursing staff was very good about calling with updates for medication changes.

Colorado Ferguson

After 2 weeks, several phone calls and two trips to the facility (from out of town), the facilitie's psychiatrist denied needed treatment, after zero minutes spent with the patient. The reason given was he was not comfortable treating someone who was being prescribed medications by another physician. ?!?!?! The doctor only wants to treat healthy people. Left a person in need feeling hopeless and rejected.

If I could give less than one star I would! Absolute, disgusting treatment of patients! This place has been being investigated by the state, the federal government, Medicaid and Medicare, and private insurance companies. They need to be CLOSED DOWN.

This place only cares about money. That’s the top priority, not patient or staff safety! Don’t go here and get your loved ones out NOW!!

Lydia

They pump you full of pills so you are complacent, and they threaten patients and yell often. Most of the staff are very into their positions of power and constantly abuse them. They have suicides living in the same area of drug detoxes and this causes PTSD reactions and bad issues for the suicides. Unprofessional and inhumanely cruel. Three of the older people in my residence physically got very unhealthy due to extreme pushing of the medications, I saw a woman go from walking around normally, to being on a cane, to being in a chair, to being on oxygen due to the constant upping of her medication, and though she didn't want this, it was still pushed onto her. If I could give a negative star I would.

Mike Strat

Do not admit your self or loved one into this facility. They are greedy and only want your money. They will only admit you if your insurance will pay. And when they find out your insurance will pay. They will keep you longer than needed and will not let you leave. Their doctor will try to antagonize you to get you to snap and when you show more self control than their doctor he will write false statements about you in his report. They have a high turn over of their staff and your lucky to see some one their for two weeks. Please stay clear of this place. The food is ok.

Horrible care!!! If you have a loved one here, get them out asap!!

Not a patient myself but my wife was, could never get any communication reguarding her care, never a diagnosis, they would not allow her to leave or be picked up and taken out. They would not return phone calls to myself or her immediate family, almost like they keep people there against their will with no communication reguarding there care as hostages. I would not recommend Clearview to anyone and caution everyone.

Katie Spalding

They deserve a firm -1000. I trusted them with my child and they miserably failed due to lack of supervision.when my son arrived there he had no injuries do self harm. I went to visit on Thursday and he had very clearly self harmed and NO ONE knew I packed short sleeves and shorts so they would notice anything if he did. It was on the front side of his forarm and I noticed it immediately. There was no way if anyone had been paying attention it could have gone unnoticed. My husband and I decided the best option was to contact the police ( sad being this place was supposed protect our child ). Now had they noticed and notified me I would not have been upset. Also during visitation the tech supervising had his face in his phone the entire hour while a group of kids with no visitors sat on the opposite side of the gym and this tech was not paying attention. The other youth we’re talking about how they could get high on the unit and so on. We moved our child to a different facility. Don’t trust this place with any memeber of your family. They don’t care ( with the exception of the day time nurse ). However nurses are caught up with paper work and meds and rely on techs tremendously and they have failed. They failed our family and now we have to correct the damage they caused along side of the issues we were all ready having.

Insurance fraud. This facility will make up reasons to keep patients longer than necessary if the patient has insurance. It's so disheartening to see beautiful human beings treated with such a lack of dignity and compassion. 50 years from now I hope society looks back at operations like these with horror. DO NOT admit yourself or a loved one to this facility.

Amanda Blosser

This place was hell, there is no God here. I can't wait for the Divine intelligence to intervene. Your time is up Clearview. Dr. Peter West is no doctor of Osteopath.

Karen K

This facility needs to be shut down! They treat u as a prisoner and the bldg. looks like a jail. The medical assistants are very unprofessional and even flirt with the younger patients. The minute u request to leave they commit u to a 72 hour hold to keep u there and collect the insurance money. Never even saw a real doctor!

YanYan rosales

The facility cares about money. Don't go here!!!

I was hired as an RN and then, for no apparent reason, their HR person would not return emails or phone calls. The front receptionist did not EVEN know the Director of Nursing's name. Extremely disorganized, extremely unprofessional and I can only imagine what the units run like?? Good luck if you dare working here.

MIKE AND MIRANDA STEEL

My stay here was very pleasant, helpful and supportive! Only ONE non important staff member was degrading, cold and made me depressed and anxious at the very beginning of entry. I feel I gained a life changing experience that I see hope in my future to help me manage my stress induced manic episodes! The other reviews about being COLD? Abso-fucin-lutly!!!

Its not right any one in the mental health industry can legally diagnose somebody with a mental disorder without physical evidence or brain scans. I can have The healthiest brain in the world & act crazy because of a bad environment. As a human on planet earth I have The right to do that. I have had a nurse at clear view threaten to shoot me over and over again wanting me to take some sort of a shot using something she doesn't even tell me or to take a pill so I read my patient bill of rights, however she said it was court ordered when that is not true because I even asked if I could read it out loud so the other patients & staff, & more importantly myself could have this physical evidence to keep. I will email my longer story to everyone in the industry and people with power until these demons are sterilized.

Mel Horn

This place has so many amazing people my daughter was here and all the front desk people the nurses doctors therapist were amazing thank you all for your hard work and helping my daughter

Todd Robinson

I disagree with the negative comments here.....saved my life. I met some wonderful staff and patients and the therapy was great. I don't know why you others complain so much. It isn't supposed to be Disneyland.

Sammi Meow

Staff was hit or miss, the whole place was run like an adult daycare. Very disorganized and there was no one-on-one therapy, it was all "group therapy" which was run by people who were sometimes only 19 uears old, they were very nice, but had no background in therapy. Would absolutely not recommend this place. I suggest Mountain Crest if you're looking for a safe, BENEFICIAL place to go.

Brittany Baker

Absolutely horrible!! Maxx Meyer is a joke of a "therapist"!!!!!!! IF YOU LOVE YOUR KIDS, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE! What a MESS AND UNPROFESSIONAL MESS OF "MEDICAL CARE"! My child was brutally beaten in this hell hole and staff NEVER CALLED TO CHARGE THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE! This joke of a "helpful" environment can't follow basic regulations! I never signed one document while my loved one was in their "care"!!! If you can REFUSE TO ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO BE SENT HERE!!!!!

*Edit of earlier review* Since posting the below review, I have to say I'm very disappointed in Clearview. My son was in their intensive outpatient therapy and was benefitting from the therapy until they pulled the plug WITHOUT TELLING ME. NO TRANSITION PLAN, NO GOODBYE, NOT EVEN A CALL. I dropped him off for therapy and they told him they'd axed the program a few days earlier WITHOUT TELLING THE PATIENTS. That's just irresponsible! Did they call to check on him or follow up? Nope. Don't leave your kid in their hands. Soooo, the care is good, I think, it's hard to tell because nobody knows anything. Communication here is even worse than the previous reviews state. We couldn't check on our child for the first day because we weren't on "the list." The Dr. Called my daughter first to discuss his care, because somehow they got just her on the list. It only got worse from there. They almost discharged him without a family meeting, safely plan, or even telling me! When I mentioned that communication is a challenge, the clinical supervisor said, "We hear that a lot." At least they are aware of that. The response to the reviews here ask you to call the patient advocate. Her voicemail box is full. My child feels that the care is adequate. He feels heard and respected, except by Carlos, who addressed him as "Inmate." These kids aren't inmates. They're kids in crisis whose parents are paying thousands of dollars for care. Please show some respect and call them by name, and identify them as "patients." Being called an inmate really made my kid feel humiliated. The nurses are great. If you want information, try to get in touch with a nurse on the unit. They know who the patients are and will go out of their way to help you. The front desk staff is very pleasant, the intake person was also very nice. I give the one star because communication is so so lacking that it's a very frustrating experience.

As the primary support contact for my family member, I found this facility to be far more responsive to his mental health and physical needs than other facilities, and he has been in and out of many. They went above and beyond in their communications with me as his primary contact, which I GREATLY appreciated. As a nationally certified counselor myself, I was quite thankful for their professional communications and their investment. This was the first time in a long time that I didn't feel like a facility just wanted his medicaid money, but truly cared about what came next for him.
