Unprofessional, always 20-30 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment yet charges full amounts for under 5 minutes. Asked for insurance receipts and never received. Dealing with family tragedy and had zero remorse or helpful remedies.

Horrible receptionist. I tried to reschedule an appointment within the time to reschedule (48 hours) only to find that the receptionist HEIDI had already charged 395.00 to my card because I was 10 minutes under 48 hours. Then when I asked to reschedule for a different time Heidi told me that I would have to pay another 395.00 to get an appointment. Her overall manner of speaking was extremely rude and uncooperative. I have never known a psychiatry office to be so unprofessional.

I have been working with Dr. Arey and her wonderful staff at South Coast Psychiatry since 2010. It's so rare to find truly genuine individuals these days and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Dr. Arey on her design projects for so many years. She's professional, prompt, patient, and just lovely to work with. I value my work relationship with SCP and look forward to ongoing collaborative opportunities.

Confused and beyond disappointed that when the Dr. is 20 minutes late for a 30 minute appointment ( I was on time for) I was still charged for the full 30 minute fee! I have sent a letter stating my displeasure and will remove this post if they correct the payment to better reflect my actual time with the Dr.

I started coming here a little less than a year ago after my then-current psychiatrist passed away and can say there has been no decline in my care. From the lovely ladies at the front desk (love you, Elle!) who are both warm and efficient, to Dr. Quereshi, who has impressed me with her open, considerate and data-driven approach, I know I'm in excellent hands.

Not a happy Camper

If you value your life or the lives of your loved ones do NOT GO HERE! The entire staff, save for perhaps April (she hasn't been brainwashed yet), is just after the bottom line, MONEY. They do not care ONE THING about you! I was at the lowest point in my life and really struggling with severe depression and after seeing me ONCE (with payment up front) she suggested I go to a very nice place for a "break" while they would find me a bed at a longer stay facility, one the office manager ELLE wishes she could go to (per her words). Well I ended up in a nightmare, lied to, another psychiatrist had to fight to get me out (Dr. Aliji just shrugged her shoulders and was like bummer) on the agreement I could get an appointment with a psychiatrist within days. Well of course Dr. Aliji, at her prices, had an opening! Shortly after, ELLE calls to say Dr. Aliji doesn't feel comfortable seeing me as a patient! I did everything she told me too! I was traumatized by what I had been through and had barely gotten home! Elle sad she'd ask if she would reconsider. Now ELLE was calling me and my husband nonstop to place me in an inpatient place (which now scares me to death after what I had just been through) all the while while we were saying goodbye to his dying father (thanks for that ELLE). Our last talk with her was that unless I admitted myself Dr. Aliji was dropping me as a patient and in fact ELLE had already cancelled my appointment for the next day! Dr (?) Aliji didn't even speak to us! So she just cut me loose! Then about 3 months later guilt must have bit one of them in the butt because I got a certified letter in the mail (which was an unmarked envelope just addressed to me, sneaky ELLE) hoping I was well and to call if I needed anything like an appointment or my records (which I'm sure they'd charge me for!). Um, I thought I was FIRED as a patient?? Oh and by the way, you did it wrong ELLE, there are steps to firing a patient of which you did not follow. We'll handle that in court though, it's okay. And for all of those who have been or plan to go, you won't get reimbursed either. It took me over a month to get the corrected codes NPI etc and my BC PPO insurance said the CPT codes were basically duplicates (unless you are doing a procedure you only get to pick ONE CPT code) and they are out of network so they say you'll get your money back, but you won't. There are several of us out there thinking of starting a support group of "I survived Dr. Aliji and Elle and lived to tell the tale!" We are accepting new members! Oh and ELLE? When that "cover my ass" letter came my first reaction was to tell my husband to give you a call to say thanks, she's dead, you don't need to worry any longer. Maybe THAT would have taught you people a lesson that you are dealing with people's lives!
