The "Best of" Votes are purchased marketing. This business holds itself out as being for the mental health care of others, but make no mistake, the owners are as crazy as they come, and are only interested in helping to remove money from your bank account.

Excellent therapist but kind of a rocky start with the admin staff. I saw Dr. Ken Jones bi-weekly for about three months. He was awesome – always a thoughtfully guided and organic discussion. He was never pushy about diagnosing or putting a label on things. I highly recommend him and would definitely see him again if I need to. As for admin staff: I had kind of weirdly hard time making my initial appointment and getting them my insurance info. It seemed like every time I called they either weren’t there, were having computer difficulty or couldn’t find/confirm my appointment. They also made my first appointment at the wrong location (they have 2) and I had to scramble to get it fixed, so make sure to pay attention to that. Also, be warned they have a pretty strict 72 hour cancellation policy, which is kind of excessive IMO but I guess they have their reasons for it. Still, the quality of the therapy more than makes up for the scheduling/staff issues, which aren’t even that bad as long as you pay close attention to the cancellation policy and have some initial patience.

I was interested in continuing my therapy but after only one appointment, I ended up with short notice international travel for work and was unable to cancel before the 72-hour cancellation window. I was charged a $214 cancellation fee with no exceptions to policy. I sent 3 emails and called 3 times, no response to my emails and I could only get ahold of billing who said exceptions to this policy are very rare. My work often entails this kind of travel, so obviously this practice won’t fit the realities of my life. In reply to the owner, I did send the emails to that address, called the office number, called the billing number. I never received a reply apart from billing, who said there are no exceptions. Also, during the time I was out of the country my account was sent to collections, while I continued to fail to get any reply from your staff. I'm extremely disappointed in the customer service in addition to this extremely unreasonable policy. I don't buy your silly story about CA labor law. Why would you pay a doctor twice as much as my actual appointment length for a cancellation? I have never seen a cancellation fee any more than 1/4 of what you charge. Not to mention typical cancellation timeframes are 24 hours, not 72. Finally, reasonable practices would be willing to work with their clients to make exceptions, especially when out of patient control such as in my case. I reiterate my initial take, I failed to read these reviews before coming to your practice and I'd warn any other potential patients to consider the $214 minimum risk if life happens. Final update. I tried again to contact the office via the email address provided by the owner in reply to this review. Again no reply. On continuing threat of collections I've now paid the fee. Bottom line is, Linder does this to try to keep people from cancelling, which I understand, and I'd happily pay a reasonable cancellation fee. But $214 is way too much, Linder should be willing to make exceptions at times, and the fact that their office staff is unhelpful and the email given to contact on this never replies as they aggressively move toward collections while threatening their patients made me feel extremely uncomfortable. This from a group that is supposed to be helping those most in need of care. Final note. I was AGAIN called by Linder, over a week from giving up PAYING my bill, to again pester me for payment. LOOK ELSEWHERE for treatment.

This review is for the location by the fountains. At the beginning of the year when our yearly deductible needed to be met before or 10% applied the office continued to charge my credit card full visit pricing far past my deductible amount. Our deductible is $350 and in the first 6 visits of the year they charged my cc $561.66. When I called to ask them to refund me the over payment amount I started getting the run around. They wanted to keep the overcharged amount on my account to use for future visits. I said no that they over charged me and I wanted it refunded. I spoke with Jessica at the office, was told to call Ellie at the Gibson office because she handled billing. I did and have gotten no where. Then I was told that I needed to call/email the administrative manager Dr. Richardson, I have twice and have not recieved a call back. Today at the visit the office asked me to pay my 10%, I stated that since my account hasn't been fixed that it wouldn't be reasonable to pay MORE MONEY. Sarah told me that Steve the onsite manager said if I didn't pay they would use the account credit to pay it. This is RIDICULOUS! They misused my credit card authorization to take whatever money they please and they won't take steps to fix it. This is unacceptable! *Response to owner 3-6-17 8:02pm I have been trying to get this situation rectified since 2-15-17. I'm not paying anymore co-pays until the refund is issued. It makes no sense to me to continue to give more money when no one will contact me to solve this problem. I received NO CALLS today from Dr. Richardson, Jessica was able to reach me so I know it's not a phone problem. Please have Dr. Richardson get my correct # from Jessica. I want to talk with someone to confirm that the refund will be the correct amount, I have EOB's to confirm what is owed to me. I will be available ALL DAY tomorrow, to get this situation resolved.

Very difficult billing practices here. You need to cancel 72 hours in advance or they will charge you $214. If you have a weekly appointment and anything else going on in your life, let alone children who might get sick without a 72 hour notice, save yourself a bunch of money by going somewhere with a more reasonable cancellation policy.

I love this place. The moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile and was taken care of right away. I filled the paperwork and understood that theres going to be a fee for missing an Appointment, which I understand because it makes me a bit more accountable for myself to be there. Also, my dr. Repeated the information in her office. The staff has been super nice, they even bring me my receipts and paperwork. Haven't had any scheduling problems. In my personal opinion it fits my needs. I have been to way worse and it's so far I'm loving it. My Dr. Is amazing, she has helped me in so many ways and will continue to see her. I'm I hoping things work out for everyone that has had a bad experience. Not every place can be perfect. I have came to realize alot of places have faults and it's up to you to decide where to seek help.

Zero stars. Highly unprofessional office untrained to deal with patients of mental illness. Old filing system with no accurate system of record filing. Money seeking medical facility. Office rescheduled my appointment and charged me for missing the initial on that they did not keep. They charged my card and now refuse to refund. I have phone records yet the manager refuses to see or view them. She is demeaning, rude and interrupts you in a defense tone. I have been early to every appointment and due to the way I was treated I cancelled all future appointments. Don't waste your time or insurance here.

Alex Wendy

My advice to everyone is to stay away from these people I had made an appointment back in January. They rescheduled me twice. After the second I canceled my appointment and said I no longer wanted to see them. A month later I am billed for a "no show" even though I had canceled my appointment within the grace period, not to mention they rescheduled me twice. To make it worse I had an authorization code from my insurance company and told them what I needed only to find out they scheduled me with a doctor who doesn't use my insurance. I disputed the charge and my cc company agreed it was ridiculous. They are continuing to bill me eventhough I have called and told them what happened and have been assured they would stop. My bill has gone from $196.00 to $307.00. I am still fighting with them over what happened. Stay away from these people. Update: after disputing all the charges with my bank, complaining to my Insurance company I have and cancelling my card I am finally rid of these awful people. My advice to anyone is to STAY AWAY! Worst company I have ever dealt with. I even complained directly to my credit card provider who said they would investigate.

HORRIBLE THEIVES WHO STEAL CREDIT CARD #S AND BILL INDESCRIMENTALY FOR FICTIOUS APPOINTMENTS. This is quite frankly an understatement. The billing issues began from day 1. We were not only stood up for appointments but then billed afterword for not being present after sitting in the lobby for over an hour. The office staff calls us weekly trying to get us to commit to appointments then books us without consent and charges us as if we had agreed to the appointment. My wife's bank account was over drafted because they billed us maliciously with out our consent. We receive call frequently stating if we don't call back in 30 minutes we will be billed again despite not having any agreed upon appointments. To date we are owed over $500 for false billing. Spare yourself parents the headache of dealing with this incompetent staff. Since my experience I have heard of several other whom have had to deal with this horror. If you forced to go here do not give them your bank card info . Be warned.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. Their staff is useless. They can't keep my kids records straight. They are charging me for a doctor that they told me was under my coverage but after I started receiving a bill; they "forgot" to set that doctor up with my insurance, then the Dr quit and gave me no feedback on my daughter. The manager at the time told me they would waive the $600 but they fired him so now they are saying I have to pay it. I called my insurance and they said that Linder just needs to call them to get it worked out and they would pay the claim. Ranae (the owner) instructed the new supervisor to tell me that they will not waste their time and resources contacting my insurance and that it is my responsibility to pay. They then told me my kids were banned from their office. I asked for a simple fax relaying that I won't be billed their ridiculous cancellation fee since they told me my kids couldn't come 30 minutes before their appt. They literally would rather to lose two patients that come faithfully every week plus my insurance pays and I pay my co pays then just waive a measly $600. Bad management!!! This place is HORRIBLE!!!! They make their patients crazy instead of helping them. I will be filing a complaint with my insurance hoping they will drop them, I am also appealing and I'm seriously considering Calling Curtis. If a group of you want to join please post on here and we can get together and bring this place DOWN!!!

Office staff is kind and considerate at all times. The psychiatrist chosen has listened and provides adequate feedback and suggestions. Difficulty reaching therapist if needed for same day problems and resolving pharmacy filling meds.

I really struggle with this review and this office over all. I stand by the fact that Dr. Bohnel is amazing at what she does. I have continued to see her for a year now and can truly say she has helped me immensely. The issue is everything else other than her. The office staff is incredibly disorganized and the ownership is so unprofessional, especially with their social media. Their missed appointment policy is clunky and inconsistent. The front desk takes way too long to get you checked in and they end up wasting some of your precious appointment time. If I wasn't making such great progress with Dr. Bohnel, I wouldn't continue treatment here. They need to make some serious changes.

The help I have received from Dr. Linder and other therapists I have seen at their office have been beneficial beyond belief. Life comes with tough times and some ways of thinking that come from our past. It is so difficult on our own to see ourselves. It is such a breath of fresh air to understand more about myself and why I think the way I do through the therapy I received there. I love the habit that Dr. Linder has helped me develop to open up about my current life and history, and to think about the way I think and feel.

Terrible experience with Linder Group, they only seem to be in for the money

I've been a client for a while at this location. I can say that if it weren't for my therapist, who is amazing (which is why I gave them two stars instead of one), I would not patronize this business. They have a new front desk person every other month, and their clinician staff is also ever rotating. They have a terrible 72 business hour cancelation policy. If you don't cancel, they'll charge you 214 dollars for missing it. I've had to cancel my appointments in the past, and their inept office staff didn't actually cancel the appointment. This was has happened multiple times, and I always give at least a week of notice. When this happens, I rearrange my day so that I don't accrue a 214 dollar fee, which I can not financially absorb at this point. It is solely up to the owners whether or not they reimburse you. My other complaint is that Renae Linder's comments on Facebook, and other review sites, are deplorable. She has threatened to remove clients from the care of their clinician, she has called people liars, and she calls people names (e.g. pig in mud, hater, etc.). Her behavior is highly unprofessional and unethical. Due to this, I am posting this review under a psuedo name, as I do not care to have my clinician pulled out from under me. Which she most likely will do, and has publically threatened to do to others. Before coming here, you need to ask yourself if these are the type of people you want to give your money to. If you choose to go here, document EVERYTHING! Write down who you talk to, why you cancel, if you rescheduled, when your appointments are, etc. This should help cover you. Because it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when you'll be charged. Whether it's your fault or not.

Too often, people think that a Psychiatrist should listen to their life story, and help them iron out their woes. WRONG. A Psychiatrist is a medical doctor who specializes in prescribing medications for your biological issues. A Psychologist or Therapist is where you go to work through emotional issues. As an individual who has suffered mental illness for over 30 years, I have learned the hard way that so many Psychiatrists will overmedicate you, prescribe the wrong drug-then just continue to increase it should you tell them it's not working, and when you mention unpleasant side effects, you are told to "deal with it". I think it's easier for them to turn us into a zombie than figure out how to properly treat us. NOT SO with Dr. Linder. I'm a tough case to treat, but he did not shy away when I first saw him 14 years ago. He is the one who was able to stabilize my Bipolar 1, ADHD, Anxiety Disorder with terrible mixed episodes without leaving me feeling NUMB. I have had to make very few adjustments over the years, and once when I was in a crucial situation a few years back he was the ONLY Psychiatrist who would help me. I flew back to California from the East Coast to see him. I read reviews about folks bringing children to him and feeling he misdiagnosed them. Please - do research - it is HARD to diagnose a child, the symptoms cross over all over the board - and they cannot communicate like an adult can. I also saw someone complain that they were asked not to bring their kids 30 minutes early to appointments. I am certain this was out of sensitivity to other patients, as Linder Psych strives to maintain a calm and peaceful environment and those who suffer mental illness often are hypersensitive to noise, light and chaos. His waiting room is not a playground for your kids to run amok so unless they are able to sit quietly and read during that time, it's best you wait. Dr. Linder is my savior. I know that if something is not right, I get 1000% of his attention and concern, nothing gets by the man and he is passionate about making his patients "comfortable" immediately. Having seen over 12 Psychiatrists throughout my adult life, I have some expertise here. Do yourself a favor and see him. You will not regret it.

I am writing this review to warn others of Dr. David Linder. My daughter was his patient. He over prescribes medications, his office staff is terrible and his diagnosis on my daughter was wrong and he had her on so much medication. I would not even give him one star but I have to in order to warn others.

David Jara

In response to your response Mr. Linder, I did call in and ask about it and was told don't worry it, it was a mistake. Then I had another family member call and she was told the same thing. I did get a reminder and called back only to be told to not worry about it again. Please don't act as though you know how this all went down, you have no idea how I tried to make sure this wouldn't happen. You have some kind of nerve to make threats to me and my family, how much more unethical can you be. I lost money for an appointment that was never made and charged a late fee and took time off work to go by your office to pay you. Not that you care, because you obviously don't. Not with Sutter health any longer, so you can pass on my info to who ever you like if you think you haven't already screw me over enough. I'll do the same on social media. Thank You. I had to give you 1 star in order to post this. Your not worth it.

Koreen Fischietto

Don't go here, don't waste your time and don't waste your hard earned money. If you need to look them up on line you are already going through enough in your life. Find someone who is not just in it for the money....

I am a patient of Dr. Linder and I am very thankful for his help with my mental health needs. The office staff have been awesome and very kind. I recommend Linder Osychiatric Group to my friends and family.

I started in September of this year, after reading the reviews. The complaints in regards to billing did not sway my decision. I was outsourced by my HMO and of the 3 choices this was the best fit. The front people are awesome and friendly. Booking appointments and changing appointments are easy. Billing issues I have not had any as of yet; as far as what is expected it isn't any different than any other business. Lisa Hammon is a caring and patient person and a great help. May 2018 - I read these reviews and it seems that the biggest complaint is the billing and appointment practices. I don't see anything wrong with the billing practices; they are clear and spelled out prior to services. I have been involved with their services for several months and have not had any personnel or billing issues. It has been my experience that they are very well liked by those in the waiting room and there is a long waiting list for some of the therapists, if you are not committed to going don't make the appointment and let someone else who needs it take your place.

Now that my therapist is no longer with the practice, I am no longer being seen at this office. After my Facebook review where I stated issues with the administrative staff, the owners threatened to end my treatment due to the review (if you would like to see the threat yourself, she posted it in the comments of my review on Facebook). Thankfully, my therapist did not share this sentiment and I continued being seen until she left the practice. The way that the owners run their practice as well as their social media is appalling. Their front desk really needs to get their act together. I would often arrive 15 minutes early and they wouldn't even get me checked in until 5 minutes after my appointment time. I had to start texting my therapist when I got their so she could come get me in order to get our full session time. When I didn't make it to an appointment because my cousins were killed in a car accident, I was told that this was not a permissible reason to miss my appointment and my therapist had to fight for me to not get charged a no show fee. The owners need to learn how to properly use social media to promote their business. They need to learn to help rather than threaten. It's so sad because things started so strong here. I originally had a great experience and they had wonderful women assisting at the front desk. I don't know what changed, but last year things took a turn for the worse and since then haven't improved in the slightest. Avoid this place.
