This is the most horrible place my daughter has ever been in! The staff and the kids curse ! They let kids beat up on other kids my daughter was punched in the eye when she was there! And the staff cursed and talked bad to her ! And the food was nasty she said!

Blacsheep Family TV

If you love your child don’t send them to nothing like this. All the women staff are rude but maybe two.

MAKAYLA AKPIK

Disgusting food, All of the staff are extremely disrespectful. The worst treatment center i've gone to! My overall expierience is horrible. would NOT recommend at all.

Shanaisha Crift

I was there until June, 2014 They sit on kids and beat them, and also they broke my left arm in 3 different places.

I was placed here as a foster care placement because they happened to have an open bed. My first night there, that bed turned out to be swarming with bed bugs. It took them a week to get someone in to exterminate them and remove the bed. Not the best first impression, and it gets much worse. There's a reason we called this place the Misery Mill. It's a for-profit that is designed to keep you there for as long as possible so they can keep billing your insurance. They entice bullying and fighting by packing anywhere between 12-18 boys or girls into a single small living area and letting them go wild. This is intentional. By maintaining such a stressful and violent environment, they remove any chance of "behavioral improvement" that could allow you to finally leave. The only way to be released in a reasonable amount of time was for your insurance company to stop paying. On top of that, the food here was all cheap, pre-prepared, high-carb low-protein meals. They saved money on these because meals with lower protein content are much cheaper, but they also leave kids hungry. But because of the high carb content and high calorie count, we would still gain a lot of weight. So when a DHS worker came in and asked "Are you feeding these kids properly?" Mill Creek's officials could say "Of course! See how big they are? They're obviously eating well!" They are also notorious for not contacting parents, guardians and caseworkers; nearly always refusing to keep them updated on their child's status. They will do so for as long as they can get away with it. Once they have your kid, it will take an act of God to get them back, and by the time you do, they'll be worse off than when they walked in. After all, if they give your kid back, it's a loss in revenue. If you care about your child's well-being, don't send them to the Misery Mill. It's not designed to help your child, it's designed to make money off them.

If I could rate “0” stars I would, I have filed 4 complaints for abusive nature and medicating without permission, I am about to go get my son, I was told by people in this town that this is the main industry and most of the employees shouldn’t probly be working with kids but it’s the only jobs around. They sit kids in front of the tv and use the tv as a babysitter, rarely have time to go outside can’t have anything to play with as it’s considered contraband. They DO curse at the kids I have heard first hand and sit on the kids as a 1 person hold although management tells me that is not part of training but staff may improvise when needed. This place should be shut down

[from the patient point of view] the place was terible they wouldnt take you off campus they would heavily sedate you. they sent me home with no meds no therapy nothing clothes i couldnt fit didnt tell my gaurdian about when i was coming home and when the flight would be landing in philadelphia.

Nancy Self

Really helped my son.

(From a patient standpoint) This was the worst facility I've been to. The staff are predominantly the worst group of underpaid people to be put around people who need emotional support. Yelling is seen as one of the best solutions to a problem, which can cause flashbacks and violence. The rooms are usually shared, which is okay; but some patients fight a lot until their room gets changed. Lots of violence (even in "control" they are downright scary). The food is beyond disgusting and often under-cooked or burnt to a crisp. The few good staff are far outnumbered by the mean and rude staff complaining about being there. The therapy that is supposedly wonderful is once a week at best. The "groups" are groups of people in the same classroom as a therapist and most of the patients are sleeping. If you file a complaint or witness statement, you are discouraged. There is literally broken glass laying around where the patients are (outside) quite frequently. And oftentimes, what you wrote circulates through the staff. Many staff even claim that if their kid needed help, they wouldn't send them to Millcreek of Arkansas. In addition to all of those cons, the highest education is supposedly a high school education, however even in the highest class, patients are intellectually confined to work equivalent to that in a fourth grade class. If you've read all of this, you're clearly considering this as a treatment option. When you put your child in, put them in knowing that it is an abrasive environment that is glorified in reviews and the patient's true feelings are disregarded, not dealt with, and simply suppressed with medicine. You will be able to write your children, but you can only talk to them for 40 minutes a week and that will be difficult for all parties. I would strongly advise not sending someone in need of true help here. Especially someone who suffers from PTSD or needs to be secure, for proper treatment for these things is certainly unattainable in this facility.

The reason for this rating is because if this place is not reliable or healthy for children then why are they open and children being sent there for tell me that cause my child is their.

It really helped my daughter! She was in another facility in a different state. She was there for around 5 months and I had her switch because there was no improvement amongst other issues I won't say. This facility was great for her. She completly turned around and is home withing 2 months. It's an amazing place from what my daughter has said. Thank you so much!

Clayton Pike

This is from a patient point of view. I was a resident their for 5 months DO NOT EVER SEND SOMEONE THEIR! The food is undercooked or burnt to a crisp the staff are rude, harsh, and WILL LOOSE YOU CHILDS VALUABLES! But there is one and only one good thing that I know Ms. Brandi. She is a therapist there and has done good for me. But the staff there need help the shots are veary painful and if you get into a restraint they will make shure you get hurt. I say again IF YOU HAVE A SOUL AMD OR BREATHING DO NOT SEND YOUR KID THERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE!!!

Joni June Carr

If you have a child that needs help with social problems, if you have a child that is destructive, is violent, is verbally abusive, a child that hurts animals, hurts themself or you or starts fires then, this is the place for them. If you are a parent that will call and check up on how your kid is and their progress and you truly care these people are great and attentive. They will answer questions and they will call you back and keep you posted. There are about 16 to 19 kids in each cottage. They are children and teens that all struggle with behavioral issues. Some have been neglected and abandoned and others that haven't. There are fights that break out. Some of these kids terrorize the staff members, but these people are there to do a job that's far from easy and they care. They have great staff, nurses, therapists, supervisor and administration. They have a farm which is good for children that lack nurturing bonds or thought process and empathy. Each child is also responsible for cleaning their area of the room they're in, making their beds, folding their laundry, cleaning up the floors and taking care of their hygiene and other duties.

Only they got a star because I have to give one, DO NOT I repeat DO NOT send your kid here, think about it they suppose to give your kid Therapy, they go to school and get put on more meds you can do that at home, these kinda places just won’t your kid insurance and money. You would think the woman here will be nice and loving no they the worst ones have the nastiest attitudes , once you call to check on your child to see if your kid is doing better they hand up in your face than block your number mind you they have a attitude with you the whole time like you’re bothering them, the female staff need to kill they self definitely have issues and I can see why the kids come out worse. Now all the male staff I have talked to been great never a problem with checking on your child, also it shouldn’t be a privilege for your child to talk to they mom or dad weather or not they on unit restriction also if there’s no staff to complain about how rude they are over at rock hill and if you’re reading this your might be wondering why not take your kid out, I didn’t put him in there and the courts are a joke. These kinda places don’t help or fix your kid even if my experience was good. I believe every bad review on here and the two good ones are more than likely staff. Don’t do it don’t send your kid here, even if you hate the person you have a kid with try to work something out anything is better than this hell whole.

Angelina Aragon

I was a patient here for five months it was horrible. I was not treated well and had some injuries and health issues when I was there and the staff never got appointments set up for me to go see theses doctor's. When I got out of the hospital i ended up going to the doctor to get seen and i found out I have hurt my right arm my left leg but my injuries were not treated when I was there. Please never send any kid here there is a lot more worse stuff that happens behind those closed doors if you love your kids don't even think about getting them help here it's like hell on earth.

Jesse Smith
