I've been seeing Channing for a long time now, she is very helpful, caring, a good listener and always makes sure I am stable with my medications. I had a meltdown and she got me right in within 30 minutes!! She truly does care and I can tell I'm not just another patient. She is a good listener and I feel very comfortable and un-judged which is usually a hugs obstacle for me. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful and the facility is very clean. I highly recommend transition center and Channing!!

I had a problem with my insurance and Mary went out of her way to call my insurance right away and got my script approved that day! Great experience every time with transition center. The front desk person is very personable and is knowledgeable about the services Offered. They are always attentive to my needs. For example, there was a little bit longer of a wait than usual, so they handed out water bottles to everyone to make sure we were happy. The doctors and nurses were all helpful and answered any question that I had when I had them. I would highly recommend coming here if you need a psychiatrist or have had any issues with substance abuse.

Mariel is amazing. I love coming to this office to see her. When I go in she knows who I am by name and she always asks how I am doing. I know that she genuinely cares about what is happening in my life. I had an issue with billing and I called Mariel to discuss, she helped me out with who I need to call and if I need to discuss scheduling she is right there to straighten things out. This place is absolutely atrocious. First they are scheduled out months in advance. Then when there staff makes an error on your appointment, and I show up for the appropriate appointment time, they say they can’t see me and try to schedule me out for another month. I’m going 3 months without medication now. 2) awhile back I lost my son. That day I had an appointment and obviously I missed that appointment because my son passed. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME 50$!!!! Transition center is a joke and it’s laighable they call themselves a business. Stay as far away as possible. Filing complaints on every platform possible. Oh and BTW if you look at all the “5 star” posts. They all have 1 review, because they aren’t real posts they are from this staff. I’ve never posted here but that’s because I’ve never received such horrible treatment in my entire life. In response to the owner: Your staff is incompetent and scheduled the appointment for the incorrect date. I have a text to my wife and I had a person with me when I scheduled the appointment who verified the date after this happened. When I miss my appointments with you I reconcile it by paying a $50 fee. When your staff messes up the scheduling how do you reconcile it? You didn’t pay me $50. Instead you turned me away and told me I wouldn’t have an appointment for another month, 5 months without medication. I can assure you that I was not abusive towards your staff. My exact words, “you consider yourself medical professionals and think it’s ok to leave a patient without medication for 5 months, that’s ridiculous.” That’s not abusive at all. The best part is I’m not even a patient who needs appointments. I just need meds refilled. They wouldn’t bridge me to the next appointment or anything. Wouldn’t work with me at all. My question is, if I needed depression or anxiety medication would they have made accommodations for me? Probably, but because I don’t need those they turned me away. If you are sorry make it right. It’s been almost a week and I haven’t even received a call from your office.

The trasition center is a great place to go. The general atmosphere is comforting, not like one of those emotionless, plain walled places with employees that just want to go home. I was genuinely surprised as to how nice the inside of the establishment looked. AND... they have candy in the lobby.

I have been going for about a year and have always had good experiences with Kara Sell. The only gripe I have is with there billing department, they use an outside vendor and it's near to impossible to get them on the phone with insurance to discuss billing errors. My co payment should be $15 however they now are saying my co pay is $35 for just medication management. I was offered a call back so am waiting to hear back.

As a new patient and after struggling for years to find a fitting psychiatrist, I was surprising impressed starting from the receptionist making me feel extremely welcomed. I also had a great experience Ms. Sell and she definitely put time and effort in my individual care. Lastly, I have been referred several times to redemption and had two bad experiences — I hate to say anything negative about other places unless it is valid..so just wanted to give a warning about redemption.

Update: 9/22/18 Dropping review to 1 star for the following reasons: Instead of admitting a mistake or fault not even a callback about what happened, they dropped me as a patient which was the best thing for my mental health, right? Truly caring about patients...haha. But it actually was because I now have a better and more compassionate provider. However, the office staff then retaliated against me by sending me an outstanding bill. This is an error since my deductible had already been met before I even stepped foot in their office back in January. This shows exactly how incompetent the office staff is that tried to send me a bill like I owe them $600 when in fact I know and my insurance company verified I owe them $0. See how they handle reviews? Retaliation instead of care. And as an additional follow up the appointment snafu mentioned below has cost me over $1800. Original review. Two stars because I like my physician. The office staff and appointment scheduling gets 0 stars. As a patient since January, I have not once been able to contact a human when calling the office. Last month I was having phone issues and saw a voicemail pop up I couldn't listen to...I also was near the office and popped in to address why they called and was met with a woman who seemed to know everything and wouldnt let me move an appointment I had scheduled 2 weeks out to move it up. The woman at the front desk who refused to move up my appointment didn't realize that is why the office had called me was to move that appointment but also refused to move my appointment. I left under the impression the July 9th appointment was scheduled as is. Next thing I know, my appointment for July 9th was cancelled with my physician without my knowledge nor consent because apparently the office needed to move the date but couldn't reach me by phone. This is after I went in the office to change the same appointment. I was in the office trying to work and communicate with them and they didn't tell me they were trying to move the appointment. I had timely documentation I needed to have in for financial reasons that was dependent on this date. I reached out to my physician to get an assessment and all it said was assessment is needed. Well I couldn't get an appointment in. So I called again. I have literally called over 20 times, get sent to voicemail, am told appointments will call me back. It's now 3 days later of me continuing to reschedule this appointment and no one has attempted to reach out. Who ever is the office staff is costing you business, putting more of a burden on patients that should be and is not doing their job at all. I'm now at a point where I know I can't call nor can I even talk to someone in the office and get any answers from office staff.

1 star is too many, as soon as management changed, we were nickel and dimed for RIDICULOUS admin charges because we didn't change our address. So we were charged in excess of $75, now it's down to $50, WE WILL NOT PAY THIS. GLAD WE ARE NO LONGER PATIENTS HERE

Transitions Center is a great place. The staff are fantastic. From the receptionists, that will really listen to your needs and assist you, to the Dr. Who always listens and treats on a case by case basis. They even have a therapist on staff that has excellent experience and is really helpful! - Call them! (Sometimes they don't answer, but if you leave a message they will call you back very quickly)

Awesome and caring staff! Dr. Akhter is extremely knowledgeable, I appreciated his "evidence based" approach. He spent ample time listening and asking the right questions before devising a treatment plan. Dr Akhter gladly took the time to include my husband towards the end of my appointment patiently reiterating what he and I had already discussed, (in laymans terms) at my request. Thorough and thoughtful in making sure we didn't leave his office with unanswered questions. I highly recommend Transitions Center and Dr Akhter for quality mental health care services.

I’ve seen mani a couple of times now and he’s been extremely helpful. During my first appointment he was extremely comfortable to talk to. I know I can’t be the only one who struggles opening up in these appointments, but Mani helped a lot. The entire office is very welcoming and warm, from the up front staff to the doctors you work with. I missed my second appointment on accident but the great ladies up front waived the fee for me as well, which was so kind. You rule Sylvia!

Great service. My favorite thing is the many ways you can be reminded of your appointments. I go in every 9 weeks and it's easy to forget but the front office staff is great about reminders. I get an email and call a few days before and the day before an appointment. It's fantastic Waiting room is comfortable and well kept. I'm so happy I found this place.
