I moved from out of state and had no friends or family. I started to get severe anxiety and would have little melt downs. I saw Dr. Guillen and he immediately diagnosed me with depression and anxiety and suggested medication based off of my lifestyle so that I wouldn’t have too severe of side effects that would effect my day to day. He took the time to listen and made me feel comfortable enough to talk to him about my issues. The longer I saw him the more “father” like he was to me, making sure my medication was working for me and genuinely interested in my progress. Dr. Guillen was a God sent in one of the hardest times in my life.

I wish I would have read his reviews before going to see him. On my first visit I thought went well he asked a few questions and quickly said I had depression and some bi polar issues. The things he was saying made sense. He gave me a prescription and off I went. 2nd visit was the complete opposite. He didn't even seem to remember that I met with him. He didn't know why I was seeing him. All he could do is read what little notes he had taken as he said he didn't do the dictation for my visit. Huh? I told him I was still having issues and he told me I was just fine but upped the dosage. Which to me means he knows I am not fine. Then he proceeded to send me to have blood work done. Um, if I need blood work why did you wait till the second visit? He didn't like being questioned. Then when I asked (several times) to get my records he kept telling me that the dictation was not done (this 6 weeks later) and he would get them to me when he wants to. Dr. Guillen is a wonderful psychiatrist. I have been seeing him for several years and have been very happy with my care. He evaluates my medications each appointment to be sure they're working for me. He treats me for depression and ADHD. He is empathetic, compassionate, and easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend him and this practice.

I saw Dr. Guillen for close to 3 years and he completely messed me up. I was misdiagnosed with a mood disorder and attention issues by Dr. Guillen, when in reality I was suffering from OCD and anxiety issues that have been properly diagnosed by numerous other doctors. His misdiagnosis and lack of listening led me to be on stimulant medications that I became physically addicted to for years and made everything worse. I do not recommend him for adults, as he treated me like a child and disregarded my symptoms. If you are looking for treatment for anxiety or OCD, I highly recommend you look elsewhere for proper care.
