This book, Hearts of Darkness: Why Kids Are Becoming Mass Murderers and How We Can Stop It, is written in simple, to understand, English. Dr.Liebert is one of the most focused individuals I have ever known. He writes so that any level of education can make sense out of his words that he researches and experiences within his own practice. He not only states the problems but works on solutions. So many people in high places, that could make a difference, put their heads in the sand in order not to make changes that might take more effort on their part. This is a must read for anyone that comes in contact with todays social problems as they can make a difference. Natalie Burton"

I have had the privilege to know and work with Doctor John Liebert, forensic psychiatrist, since the late 1970’s. Doctor Liebert is one of the few PTSD experts that I respect and his work with that population; his forensic work is noted not only in the USA but around the globe. Doctor John Liebert has several text books on the market and along with these he has been a guest lecturer at many professional gathering. Submitted by Chuck Wright, MA, WA Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Traumatic Stress Specialist. Private practice where the majority of my clients being 1st responders. "

I've worked with John through his invaluable contributions to the American Investigative Society of Cold Cases. John is still very passionate about helping victim's, whether it's the victims of homicide, (and by extension, their surviving family members), or military veterans, through his extensive knowledge and concern for victims of PTSD. John has a broad scope of experience, both as an academic and a clinician.

Dr. John A. Liebert from North Scottsdale Arizona continues to maintain his active psychiatry practice for more than the past seven years. He came to Seattle to talk about his soon to be published new book called, "A Psychiatric Clinical Roadmap to Rapid Assessment". His talk on 07-27-2015 was very well received and he presented many interesting points from his years of experience in the assessment and treatment areas of his profession. I am looking forward to more future insights from Doctor Liebert and his high quality work largely developed from his background with patients in his office based practice. Sincerely, Maurice V. Lustgarten, MD (Bellevue, WA)

My husband passed away very recently and I was advised by my therapist to speak to a medical doctor. I found Dr. Liebert through Google and he is so worth seeing. He is so compassionate and it was very easy for me to open up to him about my feelings. I felt like I could be so transparent with him about my current issues as well as my past issues and he’s completely nonjudgmental. I highly recommend him.

Dr Liebert is a well known speaker on PTSD and other topics. Last Spring, he spoke in a unique seminar on training emergency personnel to anticipate and deal with violent or self-destructive patients and family members in the emergency department. The audience was all nurses and doctors; John had them on their fingertips as he related anecdotes from his experience and snippets from his research on suicidal depression, PTSD and other clinical conditions correlated with violent behavior. His book, Wounded Minds: Understanding and Solving the Menace of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, captures an important aspect of that environment; everyone encountering a patient population with potential violence as a characteristic should read it

I have been seeing Dr. Liebert for almost 3 years for medication management and psychotherapy. I am very sensitive to medications and small changes in medications. He has worked with me extensively to find the right combination of medications. Dr. Liebert has also been there to listen and give advice when needed. He has also helped me remember things from my past and assists me in dealing with those memories now. If you are having depression, anxiety, or PTSD, I would highly recommend that you see Dr. Liebert.

I have worked with Dr. Liebert for many years. His experience as a flight surgeon when serving in Viet Nam provided him an understanding and view of PTSD that has his work standing out among his peers. His forensic work with King County, that began early in his civilian career, serves as a solid background for the books he has recently published. Those books help us understand the psyche behind mass murderers - unlike any others written on the subject. Dr. Liebert's knowledge of psychiatric pharmacology helps his patients understand mental illness in layman terms. -- and remove the stigma that continues to follow patients from seeking help. His relentless research (in many fields) has kept him at the top of his game. I'm waiting for the next book!

Dr. Liebert helped me through several problems over the years. He is very personable and an expert Psychiatrist who is a master at getting the right medication for my needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone and avoid the other fakes in Scottsdale. I referred one of my friends who had been to over 10 Psychiatrists in Phoenix. Once they saw Dr. Liebert, he switched him to the right medication and he is himself again. I don't know why anyone who needs a Psychiatrist wouldn't go to him. BB

Dr. Liebert is an expert when it comes to treating adolescents with depression, anxiety, hypersensitivity and other issues. I took my son to him during a very difficult time and Dr. L has been extremely accommodating, aggressively and quickly treating the problem. Not only this, but he's also provided the needed information so that I could successfully submit my claim to insurance, and he worked with me when insurance denied a certain medication -a problem that is all too common these days. My son is showing improvement and has been able to avoid inpatient care, thanks to Dr. L.
