I've been seeing Dr Fitzpatrick for months now, without a problem. Whenever I schedule an appointment with the office, they are usually adequate but nothing special. Usually I get a call prior to appointments as a reminder however this time I wasn't given any phone call. The reason for this is because the office never updated my contact information. During my last visit I paid a extra fee for missing a previous appointment, because I didn't give them my new phone number. However after this appointment, I spoke to the head receptionist and updated all of my contact information, so that I can ensure I do not miss anymore appointments, which will incur a late fee.
March 1st I had an appointment and was never contacted about it prior. The last appointment I had in which I updated my information was over a month ago. I called about the March 1st appointment and I asked why I wasn't contacted. I was then told that they had my old information and never updated my phone number. Then I was told that I would need to pay the missed appointment fee. I was told that I would need to negotiate with my Dr in regards to this fee, which I felt very uncomfortable with. I told the receptionist that it's not my job to explain the mistake made by the office, in regards to my information not being updated.
I was then hung up on by the receptionist. She called me back and then proceeded to tell me that I was rude, and that I needed to have an appointment book of my own, and not rely on them to call me. I was also told that my Dr Fitzpatrick ordered them to tell me I would have to pay the fee, and not be rude to her staff.
Firstly my Dr never even took the time to speak to me, to get my viewpoint on the disagreement. I'm upset that this office is more interested taking advantage of me and getting missed appointment money from me instead of actually providing health service. As a patient my Dr wasn't empathetic to me whatsoever, and neither was this office and that is unacceptable.
Dr Fitzpatrick has no care or loyalty to her patients and clearly, charging hardworking patients extra money for errors made by her staff, if more important than actually providing customer service to her patient who is responsible for paying her bloody salary. Quite frankly I feel betrayed that I shared so much with someone who I thought cared about me as a patient, and then at the end all she cared about was herself and money
