Horrible place to work

The week i spent at Baypointe helped me. Caitlin my therapist was amazing. She was very compassionate and went above and beyond to help me. Donald and Jessica the recreational therapists had wonderful energy and love for life and people. They both had a great compassion. Rashad the behavioral aide definitely was a great person. He helped talk to me when i was upset and also when i was just talkative. He spoke to me as i was a 'normal' person. My only complaints are that the food was of poor quality, not healthy or appetizing most of all of my stay. The beds and sitting arrangements were like torture, especially in my delicate condition of being pregnant. All of the other consumers that i spoke to while i was there felt very strongly about the quality of the food and the bedding/sitting arrangements. I know that this facility is ran by mostly government money, but i feel there must be ways to improve the quality of the food and bedding/sitting arrangements. if the consumer is physically uncomfortable it does make it harder to focus on bettering mental health. There were many other staff members that made the stay nice, I can't remember their names, but Donald made a copy of the list of staff that i felt needed recognition and gave it to his superior. i hope that everyone gets recognition for doing their job and above and beyond in some instances.

The worst place ever. Do NOT send anyone here, especially younger kids. When I went, there were kindergarteners that had to listen to EVERY word that came out of other people's + the ghetto staffs mouths. I'm not saying this just because it's a mental hospital, I'm saying it because it didn't help me AT ALL. In fact, it made me worse. First day there I had staff in my face for absolutely nothing, and they're all from the ghetto just trying to make some $, so of course complete trash comes out of their mouths. One of the kindergarteners was crying so much and the staff just LAUGHED. I comforted him along with some other kids. I saw about four people get arrested. Oh yeah, and did I mention I NEVER saw my therapist once? In fact, I only saw two people the second day I was there. That's it. I asked the kindergartener plus the staff how long he was there, they both said TWO WEEKS. A KINDERGARTENER IN A MENTAL HOSPITAL FOR TWO WEEKS. And it's not up to the parents to decide when they leave, or they'll call social services on them. Parents, if you're thinking about sending your kids here, DO NOT do it. Send them to the one in Pensacola.

Please send your child here if you would like to have your child be given cruel nicknames by the day staff, be discharged with virtually no helpful information as to what they did for them while in their care, discharged with completely incorrect information on thepaperwork and am employee that says"it doesn't matter, just signout or else he won't be discharged". Never talk to a doctor, definitely never

this place is a nightmare never go!!!!!!!

This place is staffed by some of the absolute rudest laziest people in mobile county. They have no regard for anyone but themselves. No concern for anyone's time let alone emotions. God forbid you ask anyone to do anything.

horrible place to even be in. probably one of the worst experiences of my life. You might as well send your kid to a therapist and put them on antidepressants since that's all they'll do here. NEVER SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!

Too many fight in hospital

The staff didn’t care about us, there were constant fights, didn’t actually offer counseling or “group sessions”, it won’t protect you child (the girls would cut themselves in front of staff, the food is miserable, they keep you there longer than you should be, and it’s absolutely disgusting. It actually traumatized me and I have to get treatment for it. Find another solution because this isn’t it.

This was the worst experience of my life, I've never felt so alone in this place. I didn't get to see my therapist until 3 days before i left and i was there for almost 2 weeks. The staff was terrible and would treat us like we were crazy. Some staff was nice but most of the staffs there are loud and the night staff would never turn off the lights for us to sleep and they would keep us up everyday. But the doctors were nice and very helping but it is not like it says this is a horrible place to send your child to

My close friend was in here for a week about 6 months ago and they took such good care of him. He felt a lot better once he got out and I'm so glad they helped him and thankful I was able to see him and speak to him during his hard time.

Those Damn Goats

The only complaint so far that I have is that my son is getting frustrated by the staff not being concerned about him being bullied. One kid in particular keeps pestering him every day and he tells them like he's supposed to but they just nonchalantly tell the kid to stop every time, forcing my son to resort to other methods to get this kid to leave him alone and then he winds up getting a 2 because of his frustration that could have been prevented. Update 20 May 19: The issue has somewhat been resolved situationally. Although, they were not ultimately separated and my son's frustration has since resulted in a physical fight. Granted, fighting's wrong and he should never have gone that route but he has stated that he doesn't feel as if he's being listened to. My rating stands, though, because I have seen improvement a bit in his behaviour at home.

Baypoint has established a point of contact for grievances of patients, parents and consumers that will thoroughly investigate any problems that occur that is connected to their facility. I believe this is a step that is crucial in the identification of a facility that will be dedicated to Best welfare of its patrons. As the parents of children that are special needs we find that it is important to participate in all aspects of the continuity of care where our childrens mental health and welfare is concerned, to use the procedures in place to effect change, and work as a team to better the services that are provided. I give this facility Five Stars for communication, effective open doors policy, reviews I have read on the doctors, therapist and changes in place for improvements.

Staff is lazy and belittles patients. They treat you with no respect. They told me I had no business being depressed (like it was my decision.) Food is old and stale. The staff smiled and laughed as they had to restrain 2 girls and give them shots. Doesn't help with mental health. It makes you go nearly insane. Floor is always dirty and theyre understaffed. Nothing is ever organized and ive heard of at least 3 girls sneaking drugs/their phones in. Dont send your kid here. Try outpatient therapy and medicine.

Lauren Hamrick

I was there Wednesday to saturday, the nurses there do nothing but yell at you!! They jack you up on medicine so all the girls do is sleep and eat, you don't do anything all day but sit there looking at the walls. Theres nothing but 12-18 yr Olds and they give you crayons and play dough. ... are you kidding me??? That place is a joke

Joe KM4QKW

My brother was sent here so I know firsthand...Patients are treated with disdain, ignored, pinched slapped kicked and verbally abused. Because homeless people will try to get admitted for a place to stay they literally starve the patients(Staffs explanation of the poor excuse for food here). Almost everyone gets misdiagnosed. This is a big scam set up to milk insurance and county governments of money at the expense of helpless human beings. It needs to be shut down and the people responsible for it need to be in prison for the rest of their lives.

Harmony Love

This organization misdiagnosed my child for over 3 years which in turn caused worst results!

Jess Jacobs

The staff was friendly and understanding. Wished the doctors would've reached out though to parents more often.

Jarrett Crum

Great place to work and provide valuable support to children in need of treatment! Multiple programs available (Acute, Residential, After-School Day Treatment, West Mobile Academy, etc). Individualized treatment tracts are integrated into programs tailored to meet the child’s individual treatment needs. Family/guardian engagement is a key part of the treatment at Baypointe!

If I could give this place a zero, I would. Treats the patients terribly, staff doesn't seem to care, and there is abundant miscommunication between Drs, therapist, and those in higher up administrative positions. The system is outdated, underfunded, and not many care anymore.

Gina Holland

Some staff members were half decent while most were extremely rude. They try to detained your child longer than 7-10 days and won't contact you about your child's progress. Worse place ever.

This place is god-awful. I came out twice as miserable as I was before. The staff is rude to the patients, especially the special ones. The only good staff member there is Danny (the enthusiastic rec teacher, love you so much). Also, I rarely ever saw my therapist. The staff was always cussing the kids out and the kids are always getting into fights. DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE!! There are so many ghetto kids and staff members that just leave a bad influence on the few good kids in there that actually want help.

Useless. They released my son after one week. No valid prescription yet. Seek help elsewhere .

Great great and did I say great to my grandson! Thanx

It was a down to earth experience everyone was kind there.

Amy Haddock

I only put one star because it wouldn't let me write a review otherwise. But I give them 0 stars. They are horrible. I am here right now and they are refusing to let my child go home. This is against my concent. They said the system is down and won't be up unti 5pm. I have been waiting since 3pm. They said that the release is against the doctors advise and are bullshiting me around. I think I'm going to have to get an attorney. This is false imprisonment.

i was here for a week and a half a few months back and it was the worst experience of my life. our "groups" did not help, it was coloring for 15 minutes then going back to sitting bored out of our minds. the staff always sat around on their phones and yelled at us for everything. the last few days i was there, i was honestly terrified. 4 fights broke out within 3 days and the staff did nothing but break them up and put the girls in timeout for a few hours. one girl got hurt really bad and the blood was on the floor for 3 days. food was honestly terrible, undercooked most of the time and they kept us on unit restriction half the time because we were too "loud". my therapist only saw me once in the week and a half i was there. the only good thing about it was how understanding my doctor and treatment plan team was. i can say i left worse than what i came in. please do not send your kids here, this place will do nothing for them but make them more miserable.

Ashley E

I was admitted here for suicidal thoughts. The care I received from my therapist and doctor were fine but I nearly went insane here. The food was god-awful. The staff treats the patients with little to no respect. I recall one time when I was practically begging for quiet time in my room, as we NEVER get to go in our rooms during the day. All we do is sit in the day room and play cards and color. It’s absolutely maddening. You would think they’d let us have ONE MESELY HOUR to take a brake from the mind numbingly boring day we have. However, the nurses were too lazy to get everyone rounded up for quiet time, so we literally sit in that day room all day every day. Please DO NOT send your child here. I only give two stars because the therapy was good and I got new medication. However, EVERY OTHER aspect of this facility is terrible.

Alexis Mealer

I got after two weeks and it did NOTHING AT ALL DO NOT SEND ANYONE HERE EVER I HAVE BEEN 2 TIMES IT IS HORIBLE.

Valorie Roberts

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. staff was horrible: hit patients, cussed us out, talked down, and overall didn’t do their job. my doctor and therapist were fine, but i rarely saw them. made my condition even worse and scared me for life. this place does no good and does no give ppl the help they need. we didn’t even get bare necessities. little sleep, used toothbrushes, tablespoon of body wash that we had to use as shampoo too, and uncooked food.

I Was in here for about a week for suicidal thoughts and depression, i'm younger the 12 so i was placed with younger kids who weren't even my age. Most of them had anger problems and i was punched once, I was told to, "Walk it off," like it was just a minor bruise (It knocked a tooth out) the college students who were working there should be immediately fired. They did not let us do anything. We had to stay in our rooms, My Therapist and Doctor, Dr. Moore, Were really good at their jobs. But, being depressed and emotionally unstable being around those angry kids didn't help. On the first day of visitation i told my father, "This isn't helping I Want to go." but of course i wasn't aloud to leave. Every visitation had me crying after. This place was Unbearable and should be changed ALOT. This is my personal experience.
