Beach Security and Investigations in October 2015 joined UMFS and VA Department of Social Services using the Extreme Recruitment Model that involves a 12-20 week searching process to identify relatives and extended family. Beach Security and Investigations provided a private investigator that worked directly with the UMFS staff. This Investigator locate over 225 possible relatives in the first three cases worked.

My experience was quite differently than everyone else's. My first initial meeting with Jerry Cale was a great one. Both Jerry and I are Dallas Cowboys fans and hit it off immediately. Mr. Cale stated he needed a male supervisor and that Beach Security was the best company there was. He spoke about a few different site opportunities. I mentioned to him that I had all of my certifications but had no handgun except the one from another company. Jerry stated, "That would not be a problem. What we could do with you is give you a choice of some of the handguns we currently have. These guns are nice and completely brand new. We could do a rent to own with you. We would set it up to take some money from you weekly for the cost of gun you've chosen until its paid off. We also have the option to for you to pay it off in full if you would like." After molding things over, I decided to leave the other company I was employed through. I was sent to Rite-Aid a few minutes from the company's office location on Volvo Way for two days. I was then asked to begin reporting to AvalonBay off Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach as an armed guard. Within a day or two, Mr. Cale came down to the client location to speak to me about the duties, responsibilities and what was expected of me during my time at AvalonBay. He also spoke to me again about doing a rent to own for a handgun so I would not be without one for work. The gentleman stated he would get back to me on it. That never happened. Weeks went by and finally I received word that Kandace was on-site at AvalonBay to speak with me. Her and I greeted each other for the first time. She seemed very pleasant. We spoke briefly about some technical problems I experienced with their app clocking me out early or clocking me in late, what to be aware of while on duty and why I was without a handgun at the client's site. I naturally explained to her that I was waiting for word back with Mr. Cale. Days later, I was pulled off the site for AvalonBay off Lynnhaven because I did not have my own handgun. I was also told that Beach Security would now not entertain selling me a gun because "We are not in the gun business. We are in the security business." I decided to pay a call to Mr. Cale regarding our initial conversation and being pulled from the site. He became very hostile, upset and very nasty to me by phone. Jerry then stated he wanted to move on from me and to find another job after insulting me over the phone. I remained calm but shocked. I had unexpected money come to me by mail and took some of it to purchase my first handgun. Later in the evening I sent a photo screen shot of the new purchase to Jerry and Kandace. By morning I was asked by text to call Kandace. I got Jerry the moment I called. He wanted me to come in for a sit down Kandace and himself. I agreed to come by. Mr. Cale was basically by himself. He greeted me with a hand shake, noticed the Dallas Cowboys shirt I had on and briefly spoke to me about him wanting to keep me on and work out somethings. Said to me that I was doing a great job at AvalonBay. When Kandace arrived she asked me a few questions, I answered them while also providing an insight to what led to me being pulled from AvalonBay. Mr. Cale said nothing for most of the sit down until the very end. He became hostile again, stated I did not try to include him into the conversation at all but was physically standing next to Kandace, fully able to join in at any time. I was shown the door for the second time and was asked to return my uniform which I later did that same morning. Jerry has since spoke to me and stated again, "I find that you are a fine worker and I feel we can work things out between us. I'd like to have you stay on with us and the folks down at AvalonBay would like you to return and for the other gentleman we have there not to return. So I will talk to you about that and about paying you more soon. I will sit down and talk it over with Kandace when she arrives." Mr. Cale seems nice one moment then mean, nasty and unprofessional.
