This place is so awesome. Never had a teacher that was so knowledgeable about the laws and gun rights. Rick has your back from the time you walk in the door. And makes this class fun. The staff is top notch and anyone of them can help you through all the steps of your application. Friendly, fun and informative. Loved every minute with them.

Although the staff is friendly and engaging, please be aware that you must go to a different facility (gun range) several miles away in Severn, Maryland. At that facility you wait for around 1-2 hours to even get the opportunity to shoot (required to obtain an HQL). The entire process is listed as 4 hours to qualify for an HQL but expect a minimum of 6 hours given travel and waiting at multiple sites. What was supposed to take up a morning ended up costing half a day (started at 9am in Bowie and finished at 3pm in Severn)! Also, finger printing is not included but they do provide a somewhat discounted fee through another company (more travel to another facility). Overall, I felt deceived by the “4 hour” time frame—more on the order of 6 hours minimum!

I have never been more interested in a training course in my life! No one has paid me to say this and I would pay Train to Aim 10 times over to say it for them again. Learning at a great pace with great people and an absolute WEALTH of knowledge and experience to help you train.

Took the first class for the guard/gun permit I just have to say Rick was knowledgeable and straight forward about everything with examples and powerful points. I would recommend this class to anyone who's trying to obtain a guard, gun, or pi permit.

I found the owners of Train to Aim to be misleading in their description of what their company offers. My fiancé and I spoke with Rick on two separate occasions. We were very, very clear. We were looking to obtain a PI license but more importantly, we were looking for the potential of employment from outside businesses associated with Rick’s school. Rick assured us that with the many, many businesses calling his school daily for possible employees, our goals would be met. The amount of $650.00 was paid in good faith and as you might guess after the completion of the course, there was no job offers. We have been contacted by another student who voiced her disappointment, not in the course, but in Rick’s promises. Ironically, I ran into a young man’s father who said his son was about to sign up to Train to Aim. He was struggling to come up with the fees but determined to attend the school that promised employment. Sad!

Anyone who complains about Rick has it wrong. Rick stood behind another business ADS, who I paid money to but never delivered on the classes, instruction or returned my calls. Rick invited me to attend his classes for free as a result of such poor treatment by said company. So character and integrity are never in question. Those who think there is some promise of a job are creating a unmanageable expectation. Also depends who you are after Rick gets to know you. Not all assignments are the same and as a result. Everyone who takes his class is not qualified based on performance, personality and other factors to participate. He can not just throw people out there who are not ready. In most cases it is for your own good. Be realistic as not all of us are qualified to run the street with the likes of Train To Aim Instructors. Certainly anyone who complains is NOT going on assignment with me ever.

Rick is the best firearms instructor in Maryland. He is very educated on Maryland gun laws and assisted me with getting my concealed carry permit.
