I visited this establishment on 05/10/2017 to have my fingerprints taken for a position with the DOD. I was initially greeted by a young lady that had to be about 20/21 y/o; she was very rude, short, and didnt provide specific instruction. She just told me to fill out the form and that was it... I had to ask her what was the next step..should I hold on to the form or give it to her etc. Fast forward, I had my fingerprints completed and was asking the livescan tech. certain questions b/c this was all new to me and again, there was some type of disconnect occurring or maybe the staff (with the exception of 1 individual) just had a nonchalant attitude this day. I ended up discussing my experience with my mother since she'd referred me and asked if she can contact HBI to get some clarification. She spoke w/ the same young lady and received the same experience and then was able to speak to the owner to get the questions answered. Bottom line, I'm extremely disappointed and WOULD NOT recommend this place at all.

Jeanette Hughes , CEO of Hughes Barney Investigations took it upon herself to change my race to black from white without my knowledge or consent.I provided her staff with legal proof of my race designation as white after one of the employees took it upon herself to change my race designation from white to black even though It , white, was clearly indicted on the preliminary application. After I verified that all the information to be submitted to the Department of Public Safety for the background check was correct I signed under penalty of perjury will reserving my rights in accord with UCC 1-308. When I received the background check my race designation was again changed from white to black. I went back to speak to Jeanette Hughes who told me she changed it based off of her visual observation of me. I told her she could only do that if I did not make the designation my self. She stated that she had the right due to some FBI mandate to determine my race no matter what documentation I provided or what I verbally declared. I asked her to show me the law giving her that authority and She refused to provide any such law . She violated my Human Right to self Determination in accord with the UN Charter on Human Rights and the UN Deceleration on the Rights of Indigenous People Jeanette Hughes has also violated Title 18USC 241. She is attempting to force me to assimilate into category that does not represent my lineage.That is genocide and a crime against Humanity.

They really need to be careful who they hire to represent their company. If I went with my first experience with this company they would be receiving a horrible review, because the lady I spoke with initially had no clue what she was talking about and instead of stating that she don't have the correct information, she went ahead and give the wrong info anyways as if she was 100% sure. I called initially to asked to have a background check resend, she told me that I need to have CJIS send them a letter stating why I need to have it resend, which doesn't make any sense and is imprecise. I called back and spoke with another young lady who was able to resend the information without a letter from CJIS.

I went to this business today to get fingerprinted for volunteering at my church. You have your phone turned on inside their office. I placed my phones in the floor outside of their office because I don't know how to turn one of them off and the employee stated that we'd only be 5 minutes. My 5 year old son was standing at the door to watch my phones. The owner of the business was leaving and told my son that he should not be standing there and that he needed to move and have a seat. I was extremely taken aback by her tone and words. As a business owner, I personally would never speak to anyone's child or a customer in that manner. As a parent, I was perplexed that this woman would even think it is a good idea to address a child versus talking to their parent. Luckily this isn't a service that I use personally or for my business so I will not have to encounter such rudeness again.

They quickly and skillfully took us through the fingerprinting and registration process; answered all of our questions in detail; provided followup documentation; a timetable for completion; and contact information in the event we had any questions or difficulties in our permit process. First I would like to say I have NEVER been to an office and the atmosphere was so inviting and it smelled so good in that office. I love smell goods, perfumes, fragrances and candles, and I was very impressed. The front desk staff was very nice. Her customer service was awesome. The fees were so much cheaper than other places that I have gone to in the past. I recommend this place to anyone seeking services. They even have a notoray on sight.
