I cant find the words to express how much I enjoyed my experience with Dr. Zemmel and his staff. From my first consultation to my last they have been over the top. The time that Dr. Zemmel and his associates take with you is beyond excellent! You have their undivided attention from the time you walk in until you leave. Patients are not in the waiting room but for a short minute. My longest waiting room stay was about 3 minutes. The staff take their time to explain what is going on, what will happen, and what to expect afterwards. I am so glad that I choose this office to service me and Dr. Zemmel for providing the care and compassion that he does. Not only do they provide excellence in what they do they make you feel as if you belong here and are far more than just someone else walking through the door. Having surgery can be a scary thing but not when putting you health into this office. From the office to St. Francis I would recommend this office to anyone. At first I wasn't sure what to expect. Honestly. I would been trying to have this surgery done for years and had considered or tried every option out there that wasn't surgery. I did Cool Sculpting and that did not meet my expectations. I did straight weight loss and unfortunately for me the weight did not leave in the right places. Now, my experience getting to Dr. Zemmel is not the typical one. I would been having pains in my chest that I believe were being caused by the excess skin and fat leftover from a dramatic weight loss I went through back in high school. After being turned away from numerous doctors over the span of 10 years and a ridiculous war with my insurance company I finally ended up with him. And I have to tell you, I could not be happier with the result. The pain is gone and my chest looks natural. I was genuinely worried that I would have some disfigured looking physique afterwards, but that is not the case. The job he did was incredible and he and the staff gave me more than enough info/care to make the entire process as easy as it could be. This procedure completely changed my life and I owe it all to him.

I was incredibly apprehensive to have my third breast surgery after 2 horrible experiences resulting in severe asymmetry and capsular contracture. Dr. Zemmel made me feel so comfortable because he was extremely thorough and very professional. My experience with Dr. N. J. Zemmel and his staff without question was EXCELLENT !, I rate them with a perfect 3. I was doubtful at first because you see I live in Virginia Beach, but I took the chance with the referral of my radiologist and went for it. I drove 2hrs got lost and was frustrated and the temperature that day was well into the 90's. I want to tell you every wonderfully kind, professional, incident but I will keep it brief, I have been in customer service for 20+ years but Becky, Sreyon, Emily, Kerri have their process and procedures perfected with a patent on it. These ladies can defuse, guide and encourage and comfort and educate you all in swoop. I came into the office feeling embrassed and out of place and they made me feel like we where family and we will deal with this together. I did not have to drive this far, or do anything with this office so far away but Dr. Zemmel was the uptmost. (not being disrepectful, I call him.. Dr. Z hottie :)) I am a breast and cervical cancer survivor 7yrs breast and 6yrs cervical and still found it hard to look at myself in the mirror,since the surgery I am coming around and very glad Dr Zemmel educated me about the reconstruction reduction and also the emotional adjustment. Ladies we will have to get together and really talk and share in our experiences. Thank you Ladies for I am not sure if you get your share of appreciation but you assist with making Dr. Zemmel such an awesome surgeon.

The entire process was absolutely wonderful! All of the staff was so helpful and sweet. They do not treat you like just another patient, they take the time to get to know you and ask about your life. The doctor was very nice, he really pays attention to what you want and the results definitely reflect that. I was so comfortable the entire process, from the consultation to the surgery. I had no worries and completely trusted my doctor. When the surgery date came up I wasn't nervous at all, I was super confident in him, and coming out of surgery I was hardly in any pain and no nausea. I had a breast augmentation and I healed super quickly. The incisions were perfectly placed in my crease and the scars are healing up nicely one month post op. They are completely symmetrical and perfect! I would not trust in any other doctor!!

I was extremely nervous walking into the office but was immediately greeted by friendly office staff who explained the procedure and answered all my questions putting me at ease. I would say Dr. Zemmel had a good bed side manner. He listened closely to my concerns, explained the procedure very clear and in depth. I thought I made this review put maybe it was removed. (2010 experience) I had a TT with lipo to flanks and love handles performed and the work was done very nicely. I went into for my follow up to have drains removed within a wk after surgery and he stated I was healing fine. I made an appointment for my next follow up and he stated that everything went well and then he made a smart comment about I'm the only patient who comes to their follow ups as if it was a problem. Per their policy you're a patient of theirs for life but apparently that's a lie. I was going to choose Dr. Zemmel for my BR but have found another amazing surgeon to perform the work instead. Dr. Zemmel does awesome work but customer service is everything. Please remember that.

I came to RAS for a 2nd opinion consult, FTM breast reduction. I had previously had the surgery at another location and wasn't happy with my results. The staff at RAS made me feel comfortable and at ease from the moment I arrived. My wait time to reach the consult room wasn't even long enough for me to make a cup of coffee! I was roomed in a nice consult room w/ a sofa and chairs, told what to expect as far as the consult process and did not even wait 15 minutes for Dr. Zemmel to arrive. I was given a couple options for my revision and had a quote for both given to me that day. I wanted to think about which way I wanted to proceed and did not feel any pressure or obligation from the staff to make my decision that day. Postoperatively, I received the same awesome experience. I am so happy with my results and know that I have found something exceptional in the team at RAS. I wish I would have found them for my original surgery!!

I have been going to Richmond Aesthetic Surgery for several years now working on getting a very small tattoo removed. Prior to my last experience I would have recommended this place. I went in this month for probably my 8 or 9th tattoo laser procedure. Their new nurse practitioner is absolutely terrible. She is not friendly and has the worse bedside manner. She was confused about when I had been in last, which seems ridiculous as there should been an accurate records of this. Every other time I have been in there I have received lidocane. The NP told me to sit on the table and I figured then they would start putting the cream on. Everything was done in such a hurry I didn't even realize what was going on. She never put the lidocane on me to numb the area. Then without notice she just starts zapping me with the laser. It hurt so badly and I yelled that I couldn't take it. She didn't stop half the times I yelled out or requested her to stop. When she actually did, all she did was place a squeeze ball in my hand and then started zapping again. I cried my eyes out after this procedure. This was not my first rodeo. I know what the laser feels like and the pain associated. She messed up no doubt in my mind. I literally went into my car and lost it. I was bleeding so bad and was in so much pain. I have never cried after a treatment nor have I ever felt such extreme pain like that. I complained to their business manager Donna. While I appreciate her time, it was a very PC response. Two weeks after the procedure they called back to check how I was doing and offered me a free facial. HELL NO! I would not have any services done at this place again, regardless if they’re free or not. Honestly, this whole experience absolutely traumatized me (physically and emotionally) and I will never have another laser treatment ever again from anywhere. I can’t risk going through that again. Whatever remains of my tattoo will just have to be left alone.

Being a petite build woman and having gone through 2 successful pregnancies, one of which was twins, I was unhappy with my midsection. I chose to have an abdominoplasty done. After going to 3 local surgeons for consultations, I was most impressed by the professionalism of Dr. Zemmel and his staff. They are extremely committed to helping you feel confident about yourself and working with you every step of the way in order to achieve the realistic look you are striving for. Not only is Dr. Zemmel honest but he is also trustworthy! The surgery along with the recovery was not as terrible as I had planned it to be. You will definitely need help for the first week or two, which the office prepares you with all of this information during your pre-op visit. Any questions or concerns that you have, even up to the day of the surgery they are right there with you, every step of the way. If I was asked now, being 4 months post op, would I change anything or have done anything differently. I would have to say 'no.' If anything, I would not be as nervous as I rightfully was going into the surgery, had I known how supportive and helpful Dr. Zemmel and the wonderful ladies in his office are!
