I have been a regular patient of Dr. Niamtu’s for the past 3 years (full face lift, cheek implants, brow lift, upper eyelid surgery, & chemical peel.) I am an organic farmer but the manual nature of the work left me feeling…less than a lady. My wonderful husband supported me to have procedures done that would help me outwardly reflect the lady I am inside. So, I set out to find a Dr. who was the Best in his field AND truly loved and believed in the work he performs. I found these qualities in Dr. Niamtu – he trains other surgeons on best practices in facial surgery; only works on faces (no other area); and, the clincher for me, does pro bono surgeries for Operation Smile & for women/children from homeless shelters who have been traumatically disfigured. I live over 3 hours away from the office but determined that the drive was worth it. It is not about money with Dr. Niamtu. I initially asked him to do a laser procedure but he reviewed my skin tone (ethnically darker) & advised to have a lower priced treatment done b/c it would yield greater likelihood of evening out my complexion. He was kind and humble in explaining to me how darker and lighter skin do not react the same to laser. I was grateful for his expert knowledge of diverse skin tones and saving us $$. His website is extensive and awesome! I HIGHLY recommend the videos & Mona Lisa gallery. In particular, I was impressed that he was so humble as to include pics of himself after a chemical peel. Having had this done, I can say the 1st week you are “flaky” & not yet “lovely”. I have high respect for Dr. Niamtu that he cares more for his patients to “see” what you will experience after the peel vs. being concerned that patients won't see him at his "best" - definitely not a “pompous” man whatsoever. The office staff are SUPER kind and helpful. They are professional while making you feel comfortable and welcome. The “post-surgery” material is great. I relied on the “Zombie/Smiley” face chart for MAJOR encouragement from Day 1 to 1 Month post-surgery. I had a bit more pain after the full face lift than the browlift but it was manageable b/c I followed the Dr.s advice to a “T” – i.e. elevate your head, don’t do strenuous work EVEN if you get tired of just lying in bed, etc. Dr. Niamtu is like a Master Artist as he studies your face from each angle and then sculpts the finished work into a masterpiece that we both take joy in. He services well known celebrities (maybe why a reviewer says he has a “God Complex”?) I can only say from 3 years of regular patient interaction with him that he has never put on “airs” with this country farmer. He is lively and full of energy yet patient and caring. Don’t mistake his creative energy for impatience or abruptness – he loves what he does and you can sense that excitement as he begins to study your unique face and the possibilities therein for improvement. If anything, Dr. Niamtu is “godly” without a “Complex” (see Ahmed Sesay’s review below – Wow!) I have now completed all my planned treatments & wanted to write this holistic review of my patient experience with Dr. Niamtu and his center. I will always come to him in the future for any facial work I need done for as long as the good doctor chooses to serve clients. I would not trust my face with any other doctor. Period. Dr. Niamtu and Team - Thank you for a job well done! I absolutely love the Lady I see in the mirror each day!

I've been going to Dr. Niamtu for a few years now and he has done a blepharoplasty which removed the bags under my eyes and eliminated some of the saggy skin from my upper eyelids, lower facelift to reduce wrinkles in neck and saggy jawline, and recently an Otoplasty to help with my semi protruding ears. I have been very happy with the results of all the procedures. Dr. Niamtu really wants his work to turn out perfect and he does everything in his power to make it that way. I feel 10 years younger and it has really helped my self esteem. I know we all get older but recently having a total hysterectomy at an early age made me age quicker and i was VERY depressed. Dr. Niamtu helped me to be happy about myself again and I am so thankful for him and what he has done and continues to do for me. His staff is also so great, I love Shelly, Jenny and Laura they have always been so nice and understanding and always available to respond to my questions i sent via email. His anesthesiologist who assists with his surgeries is also a great guy. This is a great team and I am truly blessed to have found them. You cant go wrong by setting up a consult to get advice, it truly would change your life!

I am a 17 year old female. I grew up being the chubby kid and not only was it unhealthy, it was emotionally taxing and put me through years of bullying. Since middle school I have lost nearly 70 pounds, and most of my insecurities are gone. Now I am a senior in high school, preparing to go to my dream school and move forward with my life, and I had one thing I wanted to change about my physical self left. From being so overweight I had a lot of fat on my neck and cheeks left, which strangely did not come off with my weight loss and did not match my body. I came to Dr. Niamtu wanting to have a more defined profile, and not have the saggy neck I did. A month after having my neck fixed and fat pads taken out of my cheeks I have never felt better about myself. I am so so grateful to Dr. Niamtu and his staff. He is truly a compassionate, and talented Doctor. I can't wait to go off to school and not have this insecurity hanging over my head.

It’s been nearly three months since Dr. Niamtu performed a full face lift for me, the results of which can only be described as amazing. Since my association with Dr. Niamtu, I have continually found him to be a confident perfectionist, and most importantly an excellent facial plastic surgeon who delivers. He has changed my outlook on life and helped an aging 69 year old woman feel good about herself again. Hearing my husband tell me on a daily basis how beautiful I look is something I’ll never tire of. Do not get your lips done by this “dr” he is the worst ever!!!! I thought he would be a great doctor to get my lips done after seeing his commercials on tv but that was the worst mistake! I spent around $650 to get juvederm for my lips and they were completely messed up! My right top lip was smaller than the left and my right bottom lip was bigger than the left so I went back and paid $650 more dollars to get them fixed and afterwards they were even worse with the same problem when he told me he would fix them which he should have done for free here it is over a year later and my lips are still completely messed up i Am so embarrassed and have lost a lot of my confidence due to this horrible plastic surgeon..

I believe Dr Niamtu is a great Dr, however I felt my consultation was rushed. I paid $75 for a consultation and spent the majority of the time with one of his office assistants. Dr Niamtu came in asked "So what are we doing today?" and when he ralized that I wasnt sure if I was getting a procedure done that day, he left the room and told his assistant " Just let me know what she decides." I thought I was goingto get a real consultation, where the Dr looked at my face, examined the areas I has issues with and we would map out a plan to correct those areas either at that visit, or at a later date. I did decide on Botox that initial visit to lesses some forehead lines that were starting to become visible. Even when he came in the room for the botox he and his assistant were discussing how mant units I would need, he looked at me with the syring in hand when I asked him how many units I was getting his reply was "That depends on what your budget is." His technique was rough, and quick. I wonder if this is the treatment his African American patients receive, since everyone seems to rave about him, get free services, and I had to be questioned about my budget! I did like the the results of the botox, it made a great improvement,and his office staff are great and friendly. Unfortunately, in the future, I will seek out another practitioner, where I can get what I need without paying to feel uncomfortable.

I had the best experience today with Dr. Niamtu. First, his nurse Lauren was amazing and super informative. She was very sweet and prompt. I was called back right on time and given an estimate on pricing immediately (which was super reasonable for Botox.) This was the first time Botox has ever not hurt! Dr. Niamtu’s bedside manner is great. He’s really cheery and nice and he’s very quick which is awesome. Overall, 10/10. No pain, quick, friendly staff, awesome bedside manner, fair pricing, clean and beautiful office, and obviously his accolades speak for themselves (he knows what he’s doing :).) Also, just an added bonus... I love going to a doctor or any professional in general that gives back. If you go to his page you will see that he is very committed to giving back to others. Highly recommend him and his staff!

I am currently serving active duty in the Marine Corps and I had the full facial co2 laser acne scar removal done . Dr. Niamtu was very cooperative and flexible with the limited time I had before I was to deploy . Botox and Fillers **DR NIAMTU IS NOT A BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON** I have seen Dr. Niamtu multiple times, over the past 2-2 1/2 years or so, for Botox injections. Each time he was *extremely* rushed. Without any one-on-one prior discussion with Dr. Niamtu, he literally would walk into the room, pick up the syringe and come at me all in one fluid swoop. I suppose he trusts his assistants (that have zero qualifications) to relay what treatment is being performed, how it's being placed, and how much is to be used. Dr. Niamtu never took any time to ask me what I wanted (all done w the assistant) or truly assess the placement of the product. Results were 'ok' but varied a ton, despite the same area being treated. He also didn't listen to my concerns about previous placement(s) and results. In addition to Botox, I decided to do fillers at my last appointment (Voluma). I had my tear trough and nasal folds treated. The results were extremely uneven and very 'harsh' looking under my eyes. When I went in for a 'touch up' several weeks after the initial treatment (per Dr. N's instruction), he said it 'looked fine' and he wouldn't do anything else, but could dissolve it if I wanted. He was very dismissive and hurried out of the room. Very dissatisfied with the services performed by Dr. Niamtu, I seeked out a Board Certified Plastic surgeon. I found a wonderful doctor to fix the fillers under my eyes/in my tear troughs and it now looks really, really great; extremely natural. Long and short, I understand Dr. Niamtu is an oral surgeon, NOT A PLASTIC SURGEON and certainly NOT A BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON. He's got a great marketing team and campaign, but please, please do your research. I'm extremely lucky my experience wasn't worse than just Botox and fillers.

Dr. Niamtu changed my life! I am in my early 20s and have suffered from horrible under eye bags for as long as I can remember. I finally decided to get a transconjunctival lower bleph and Dr. Niamtu was the perfect Dr. for this procedure. From beginning to end he was very informative, patient with my questions, and made me feel comfortable and safe. I wasn't even too nervous on the day of surgery because he and his team checked in at every step from pre-op to post-op. I healed wonderfully and quickly due to his skills and I couldn't be happier with my reflection these days! I feel like I have my life back! I wanted a surgeon who could meet my requirements for my concern. This was the area of my face, specifically my neck. I did research on who I thought would best meet my desires. I wanted a Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon. This is a person who specializes in faces, or area above the shoulders. I have heard positive verbal comments regarding Dr. Joe Niamtu. I have read very positive comments regarding Dr. Joe Niamtu. I decided to make a consultation appointment with him and make my own decision. I was very impressed with his comments. He sat down and discussed my concerns. He presented several options that would benefit my appearance. Each procedure in itself would be beneficial. There were added procedures which would further improve the total result. I was able to think and decide for myself. I made my mind up before leaving his office the day of consultation. I was totally convinced he would be the perfect surgeon for me. I also liked his presentation, his hands on consultation and sincere concern to meet MY satisfaction. I chose to have a neck lift, upper eye lid and lower lid procedure. I discussed having a Laser Skin Resurfacing at a later date. He left the option of Laser Skin Resurfacing open and wanted me to give it thought. I would be a definite plus and would just require a longer down time but still a great benefit in the overall result. After giving thought, I called back and said yes to all of the above. So very glad I did. Dr. Niamtu does have a professional, courteous and helpful staff. I would expect nothing less from his practice. I am appreciative to each and every one of them. I am mostly thankful I chose Dr. Joe Niamtu to perform this procedure. I had questions, I asked, he answered, each time. Sometimes we need that reassurance. Please do yourself a huge favor if you decide on a procedure of any kind. Arrange for a very knowledgeable caretaker for the first 2 nights of your recovery. It is such a benefit . I might add, I had a mild face lift over 10 years ago.. I was pleased at that time. However, it required maintenance. I did fillers, Clear & Brilliant Skin Treatments and Thermage, each year. All costly, beneficial for a while, but this last year was NOT being beneficial and not making me feel better about my appearance. These are very costly and do NOTHING for your neck.. I'll readily admit that I never considered myself someone who would have cosmetic surgery. But after 15+ years of being unhappy with my chin, I finally decided that actually I AM that person! And thus I decided to meet with a doctor about fixing it. Dr. Niamtu was wonderful! Not only did he take the time to answer all my questions during my consult, he didn't unnecessarily push other procedures. He was reasonable, friendly, and straight-forward about what I should anticipate with regards to recovery, and also honest about managing my expectations for the final outcome of the surgery. That was refreshing to hear! In the age of computerized models, it's nice to hear someone admit that healing is unique from person to person and results of the same surgery will vary in outcome based on the individual person and their anatomy and healing process. There certainly is an art to this field of work and Dr. Niamtu seems to have honed his. His website literally has hundreds of before-and-after photos which I found tremendously helpful in understanding his aesthetic. The office staff is also exceptional and they clearly work hard to ensure you are comfortable with the entire process. And while I have not had my procedure yet, I decided to write this temporary review in the meantime based on the doctor's besides manner, which is excellent. His down-to-earth disposition made me feel comfortable that I had found the right surgeon! Trusting your face to someone is hard but I believe you'd be in great hands with this practice and under Dr. Niamtu's care.

I've been to see Dr. Niamtu many times for Botox injections, and have been extremely pleased. I've been considering facial fillers(Juvederm, Voluma) for some time, and decided to trust Dr. Niamtu once again. First of all, if you've never been to Dr. Niamtu's office, you'll be impressed with how beautiful the office is, and how amazingly friendly and helpful the staff is. You'll feel at home immediately. I experienced VERY little wait time (as usual). I decided to get Voluma for my cheeks, and Juvederm for my nasolabial folds and for lip enhancement (in addition to my normal Botox for upper forehead and glabellar lines) I experienced ZERO pain---I hardly felt the needle! Dr. Niamtu was finished almost before I knew he started. I was amazed upon looking in the mirror to see immediate results. Needless to say, I am beyond ecstatic. It's only been 3 hours since my procedure, and I have almost no swelling and zero pain. If you're considering some beautification procedures (and you should! You're worth it!), I cannot recommend Dr. Niamtu and his staff more highly.You'll be sorry you didn't go sooner :)

I am posting this review for my wife: I am 69 years old and felt old before my time because of sagging facial and neck skin. When I decided that I would consult with a cosmetic facial surgeon, I did my homework. As with any surgical procedure, you want the doctor who has done the most work in that area. On paper Dr. Joe Niamtu stood head and shoulders above any other other surgeon and that proved to be so true when I saw him for a consultation, for my actual surgery and the follow-up. I would consider Dr. Joe an artist. Even though I had a tough time knowing what should be done, he had no problem sorting through all the options. I had concerns about going too far with the surgery -- how far is too far? However, Dr. Joe knew what to do for a very natural look. I love the result of what he did for me. I look and feel many, many years younger. Dr. Joe is a very caring and compassionate doctor as is his staff. They couldn’t have taken better care of me during the surgery and the follow-ups. If you are considering cosmetic facial surgery, please talk with Dr. Joe. I think you will be very happy with the result.

I went to this office for Radiowave mole removals and VariLite treatment for facial spider veins and vein reduction under my eyes. Dr Niamtu is definitely a perfectionist. Accurate, precise in his assessment, work and execution of procedures. The staff working directly with Dr Niamtu was brilliant. Informed, helpful in every way, efficient during the procedures as well. I travelled from Canada for this and I do not regret it. The mole removal sites are progressing and healing beautifully already (6 days afterwards). My friends and coworkers like the results and are talking about doing this themselves. The radio frequency method of removal, with edge blending is definitely worth it. Having a precise, skilled hand to do it, is even better. The skin transition on the larger mole areas is beautifully done. All areas were covered perfectly. The veins under my eyes were significantly reduced. Everything went perfectly. No recovery time. I am extremely happy with his work and I wonder why I didn't do this years ago?

DON’T EVER go to this dr to have your lips done (lip filler)!!! I paid around $650 the first time and they were very uneven one side of the bottom was bigger than the other and one side of the top was way bigger than the other so I went Back to get more to try to even it out, paid $650 more and he did the same exact thing they looked even worse the second time. So I went back a third time for a refund and he didn’t give me one he just stuck a needle in my lip and removed the filler in my bottom lip that way and told me to massage them (which didn’t help). I am highly pissed that I wasted over $1,000 for my lips to be messed up and like 9 months later they are still messed up I don’t think this “Dr.” knows what he is doing especially when it comes to that. So your better off taking your money elsewhere.

After doing a lengthy search online, it was worth driving 2 hours to see Dr. Joe Niamtu!!! Office was beautiful. Staff was very polite and professional. Dr. Niamtu has great bedside manner and is very caring. Listens to what look you would like to achieve and shows you how he would do it. Jenny, RN was great at assisting. She has the magic touch. No pain at all. Fabulous results!!! It's comforting to know that Dr. Niamtu is very skilled and knowledgeable at what he does and he CARES about his work. I have been spreading the word and referring everyone I know to do the 2 hour drive. Will definitely visit his office again when needed.

DR NIAMTU GAVE ME A CHANCE IN LIFE AGAIN. HE RESTORED MY FACE AND FAITH IN PLASTIC SURGEONS. Dr. Niamtu is one of the true hidden gem plastic surgeons in the world. I will be a patient for any potential facial procedures as I age and will travel across the world If I have to. Long story short I suffered through botched chin surgeries and ended up with a much too large implant. And to make matters worse fat transfer and later juvaderm was done to hide the dents and scars….my bottom lip felt tucked in from the large implant and several screws being placed below my lip into mentalis muscle.… I couldn’t even smile anymore without my lips pulling weird. After numerous consultations across Canada and the United States and almost giving up on any hope of having my chin restored to my former self. I hopelessly went to a maxillofacial specialist in Vancouver and asked, if I was your family, wife or daughter where would you send me? And he said “Dr. Niamtu in Richmond Virginia”. I reached out to Dr. Niamtu. He explained the risks and complexity after so much trauma and past surgery and that the chance for successful outcome at this point is significantly reduced. However, I was determined to see him and his big beautiful compassionate heart took over and he agreed to see me in person. An entire 12 hours, 3 flights later and I arrived in Richmond Virginia. I was given a list of nearby accommodations and caregivers available for out of country patients or patients traveling alone. I made arrangement to stay with a caregiver. I was greeted by a beautiful woman who is a real-life earth angel named BONNILYN. I felt like I just arrived at my favorite aunt’s home for a visit. So warm, loving and caring. She drove me to my appointment. I met with Dr. Niamtu, he was also very friendly and he was genuinely empathetic to the difficult mess I ended up in. I knew the complexity of my case, but because of how professional, experienced, knowledgeable and ethical he came across during my appointment, I just knew, finally I was in good hands. The staff/team care was superb things ran smooth start to finish. Shelly and Lauren were so sincere and personable. They made me feel so comfortable and were very friendly and helpful. The Anesthesiologist even went over and above to look into my concerns before my arrival and took the time to discuss my options with me. BONNILYN took care of me after surgery. She is a very healing soul. Her environment is designed to ensure you receive proper after care and that you feel no stress for a successful recovery. I truly felt something magical about my experience and everyone associated with Niamtu Cosmetic Facial Surgery Centre. I left there still swollen and so the results were unknown. After having experienced disappointing results, I was afraid to get too excited, especially when I was dealing with potentially lose skin, dimples, and some excess fat from the previous injections that were done… I didn’t go into this expecting perfection or some miracle. About 2 months after being home, I woke up one night and passed by a mirror and saw my face and broke into tears. I had never experienced crying out of pure happiness and gratefulness until that moment. For what I saw I never thought I would again. The shape of my chin, jaw looked the way it did before all this chin implant even started. Dr. Niamtu removed the implant and the screws and repaired the tissues and muscle and did some lipo of the fat transfer and laser to the old scar. I saw a miracle that I prayed for. Dr. Niamtu I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude and for showing me there truly are skilled plastic surgeons that make a difference in peoples lives. You have given me the gift to leave my house each day feeling like me again. I can’t even see the evidence of your incision sites and that is how it should have been. That is the standard of care I wish all plastic surgeons would take. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Niamtu and the all team members of your surgical centre.

This facelift has changed my life completely. I am a 65 year old white female woman. I have been told that I look between the age of 25 and 40. It has been 5 months since the face lift in eye lift. People treat me differently. People are basically more friendly and are attracted to me. My eyes are wide and bright and friendly and I am thrilled with my new face. Dr. Niamtu changed my life over 12 years ago. I was a server at the time, and took care of Joe. He told my manager after the meal that he wanted to help me out. He didn't know me, or how I had come to be in my situation, but wanted to help. I have not met anyone who loves to help people in a tough situation the way Dr. Niamtu does. I did not have insurance, nor could I afford any kind of surgery. My first surgery was for no charge, and the second surgery I paid for anesthesia only. I'm sure that the procedures he performed would have cost at least $5,000, but he is so generous to those less fortunate. He performed a couple procedures, including taking off a mole I had on my nose. I had no complications, the healing times were fast, and the results were amazing. I could never thank Joe enough for changing my life (yes, it was that big a deal for me). His is very caring, professional, and definitely goes above and beyond expectations. I would recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Niamtu performed the best Blepharoplasty on my lower eyelids just two and a half months ago. I am so please with the results and I feel lifted both mentally and physically. As an African American woman, we often assume that we don't need cosmetic surgery but in my case, the natural mile stones faced in later life had taken a toll on my appearance and dampened my feeling of well-being. Dr. Niamtu conquered all this with prompt, friendly and courteous service and his superior facial art works. During my initial consultation, the high level skill of Dr. Naimtu was apparent as he easily diagnosed and recommended treatment which included blepharoplasty, botox and smile line filers. The beauty of my two best female friends and colleagues (one Philippine and the other African American) are enhanced by Dr. Niamtu's skill as the both were his patience. They shared their immaculate satisfaction with Dr. Niamtu and all the staff. I must say that they all make you feel and look like a celebrity every time.

Dr. Niamtu preformed otoplasty on my daughter who had one ear that was much more prominent than the other. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him as a physician as well as the staff. What could have been a very anxiety provoking experience for my daughter turned out to be so amazing. The front desk staff was so warm and friendly...they made my daughter feel so special and really went out of their way to make her comfortable. Dr. Niamtu and his nurse are just fantastic! I was amazed at their genuine care and concern for my girl. The procedure itself was a success to say the least and "Dr. Joe" is a hero in our home. One morning I woke up and realized that I had aged! I had dark circles around my eyes, wrinkles around my mouth and forehead, and my already thin lips had almost disappeared! I was not ready for anything crazy. I did not want a facelift, laser, or any other type of surgery, but...I definitely needed something!! As I was commiserating w/ my friends one of them pulled out a Style magazine where Dr. Niamtu was voted "Best Cosmetic Surgeon," so I figured, why not? I am so glad I did it!! From my fist call to the office all the way through to checking out I had a great experience! Dr. Niamtu injected filler in my lips, Dysport in my forehead, and his staff held my hand the whole way! They spent time with me, and didn't try to push anything on me that I wasn't ready for. I will definitely be going back!!!

After reflecting on the initial appointment I had with Dr. Niamtu about 6 months ago, and after consulting with other doctors, I just have to express the bad experience I had. After a motorcycle accident that damaged my face I came in to see Dr. Niamtu to consult about what he could do for me. I paid the $75 for the consultation, which I thought was exorbitant, and a sign of nickel-and-diming and ego. I arrived for my scheduled appointment. I was greeted in a nonchalant way that most people are greeted who are relegated to a number instead of being a patient, then hustled back to an exam room where I waited another 20 minutes for the doctor ,while being interviewed by his nurse for a few minutes, Dr. Niamtu entered in a very rushed manner. I could tell he immediately took a dislike to me for some reason. He talked to me about my issues for about 30 seconds then began to list off things that he would do for me after prompting him, with an attitude that said he just did not care, and I could tell he was just in a hurry to get out of there. Then we had the weirdest and kind of insulting exchange. I told him I wanted my smile to be even, after the right side of my smile drooped from nerve damage. I said I wanted the damages side to match the original undamaged left side. He then told me my damaged side was a perfect smile and the left (undamaged) was not the ideal. I'm thinking, "What does he want to destroy my undamaged side to match the damaged?" It was just an insult I didn't need to hear after the trauma of my accident. Uncalled for certainly. He kept asking me if there was any other issues as his feet were pointed to the exit door, although I had listed them all on the sheet I filled out describing what I wanted done, and had explained them to his nurse. I only talked to him about the main scarring on my face and not the five other issues I had listed, since I could tell he just did not care and just wanted to get out of there. He described nothing about the actual procedures that he would do, recovery times, possible complications, or anything other than superficial statements. I did not feel confident with him at all. When I received what the charges would be there were items added in that were not discussed. I got no friendly vibe at all from the doctor. He was not personable and seemingly did not care at all about my situation or explaining anything to me. Needless to say I did not go back to him for the procedures which would only have only cost me a little under $3,000. I've learned to live with my scars, but if it came to the point where I did not want to anymore, I would not go back to this doctor for the actual procedures to correct what he seemed to not be interested in at all. I wasted $75 and my time observing him feeling like he was wasting his talking to me. *** My response after the comments I received from the business after my review: "I was never given your cell phone number. Dr.Niamtu. And if you would have listened to me during our consultation you would know that I was in a motorcycle accident, not a bicycle accident." Be well

So here you are ... At the same place I was in checking out surgeons for what will be one of the biggest decisions of your life! I was recommended to Dr. Joe Niamtu by my G.P. so I started doing my homework. After many months , I made my decision to set up an appointment. I've been to plenty of Drs through the years, for different issues, most of them very good... but we all know that feeling of being herded through like cattle or that feeling of being just a number. I'm so glad that I chose Dr. Joe ( isn't that a wonderful thing to feel comfortable enough to be able to call your Dr. by his first name)... That's the way it is at his office, everyone there is so warm and friendly, they care for you with genuine concern and make you feel like family. Dr.Joe is an expert at what he does, he totally loves his job and his heart and soul is in it 100%... You can feel that from your first visit! It is so important that you have complete trust in your Dr. and my anxiety was put to rest with his first evaluation of me. Dr. Niamtu and his team performed two laser resurfacing procedures to my face between February and March 2014. The results were astounding. I preface this with some background which includes injuries suffered to my face as a result of an attack leaving me with a broken nose, a concussion, and nasal and facial trauma requiring more than forty sutures. Today, friends and family cannot tell I was ever injured, and the psychological trauma with which I suffered as a result of said attack was mitigated to a large degree by the professionalism of Dr. Niamtu and his staff. I had a brow lift and blepharoplasty Oct 16. The results are better than I imagined. I now look like I'm "supposed" to look. My look isn't over-done, which I appreciate. Most people don't recognize the change until the pictures are side-by-side and then the difference is remarkable. Thank you to the staff at Love That Face. The girls made me feel like family. When I was nervous, they stopped what they were doing to chat and make me feel comfortable. In hindsight, it was an easy procedure. Love Dr Niamtu. I know love is a strong word but it exactly how I feel about Dr. Niamtu. I consulted with Dr. Niamtu about six years ago, but life happened i.e college etc. About two years ago I email Dr. Niamtu and he responded with the same caring, compassionate manner. I am two weeks into my surgery and I am so happy about the results. The best part is I can get back to work in a few days. As clients (patients) we must establish trust not by what a physician says but by his work which is ultimately his legacy. Unfortunately like many others I also had unpleasantly bad experiences before with plastic surgeons. I try to believe it was due to this physicians inexperience, and maybe because they do not care. As Dr Niamtu says in one of his videos you pay in time and I would add you pay in mental well being. When you have great results, you feel good about yourself, and that is the reason why you had surgery for a better quality of life, since quality of life is not just physical health but also mental health. Dr. Niamtu was the first doctor that I came across when I searched for information in regards to a sebaceous cyst I had on my face. He had a video on YouTube of him performing a removal of a large sebaceous cyst, in which he gave great detail on what he was doing and why he was doing it. When I discovered that he was right down the road from me (in Midlothian), I realized I had lucked out. I had one of the best of the bests in my backyard to take care of my problem. I was very impressed with the way that his staff treated me, and most importantly, Dr. Niamtu did an excellent job removing the cyst from my face. Very small surgical incision, short duration of surgery and virtually no pain felt after the local had worn off. A+ job. I visited Dr. Niamtu hoping he would be able to help me with my 2nd chin implant. My first chin implant made my chin too long and during the placement of my second implant, I had severe bone resorption from the first implant that prevented my plastic surgeon’s ability to properly place the new implant at the bottom of the chin bone. I came to Dr. Joe with the hopes of him being able to properly place my second implant while dealing with my bone resorption. I arrived with a CT of my skull and he took one look at it and told me what no MD has ever told me before; my facial structure was never appropriate for a chin implant (I have a long, recessed chin and steep mandibular angle). Dr. Niamtu has extensive knowledge about appropriate and inappropriate candidates for chin implants. He turned me away from his work and I could not be more grateful. I have since had the second chin implant removed by my PS. Though I have had no work done by Dr. Niamtu, during my visit with him, I was blown away by his professionalism and his ability to state the facts with my case. He is experienced and knowledgeable and you can tell he wants what is best for every single one of his patients, even those who are just there for a consult. Thanks Dr. Niamtu!

Dr. Niamtu has been a God send for my family and I. I brought my daughter in for lip reduction procedure consultation and right away Dr. Niamtu noticed that she was a special needs individual. Immediately Dr. Niamtu offered to perform the surgery for no charge. Although we were thrilled at the offer we still wanted to contribute what we could financially afford and he graciously accepted our offer. After reading a few articles as well as doing our own research we discovered that Dr. Niamtu is an advocate for children with special needs and in fact has two special needs children himself. Dr. Niamtu provided us with support during and after my daughter's procedure and since coming back for follow ups is still as kind and genuine since the day we met for the consultation. We contacted Dr. Joe Niamtu's office on Monday morning for a bike accident facial scar that would not heal properly after 6 weeks. They scheduled us for 4:00 to work us in. We were seen after Dr Joe finished with the scheduled patients and he revised the scar and suctioned out some debris from the accident. I went to see Dr. Niamtu concerning two moles that were on my face. I have been self conscious of them since I was in high school and I have always wanted them removed. I have suffered for years from bruxing/TMJ. My jaw locks up, I have severe headaches, and my ear will close up trapping fluid and causing infection. I've gone to specialty dentists, worn a mouth guard, and even been scoped by an ENT to figure out why so much pain. Finally my dentist recommended Dr. Niamtu for Botox in my jaw, ear, and scalp. I was uncertain if it would work. I had a consult and Dr. Niamtu was personable, not in a hurry, answered all of my questions and explained everything from beginning to end. I found him to be completely transparent about everything, which is refreshing. I liked the fact that he was also an oral surgeon, making his understanding of my issues more comprehensive. He explained that Botox occasionally doesn't work for cases like mine, but I decided to try. I felt immediate relief. Botox is for much more than vanity- this is the first time I've been pain free in 20 years. I've gone back since, and will continue. His staff is amazing, and they call to follow up afterwards. Please, do yourself a favor and if you suffer unnecessarily like I did for years- book a consult. Being pain free has impacted my life in more ways that I realized it would. Thank you Dr. Niamtu!

I can’t say enough about this man and his staff. He is the most down to earth guy and he tells it like it opposed to just what you want to hear. I had a genioplasty done by him after I was told by another doctor that it wouldn’t make that much of a difference and that I didn’t need it. The results exceeded my expectations by a long shot.
