Dr. John Bitner is an expert in facial reconstructive surgeries. I am extremely appreciative of the skill and care Dr. Bitner invests into each of his patients. Before going to Dr. Bitner I had a noticeable deviated septum that affected my breathing and a poorly shaped nose due to 2 sever nose breaks. I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty that was done previously yet was not successful. From consultation to post surgery appointments the experience at Dr. Bitner's has been exceptional. Dr. Bitner and his team are extremely accommodating in scheduling appointments and surgery. My recovery was a little more than a week. The results are quite amazing. Because of my nose breaks a ridge formed at the top of my nose. Post surgery I couldn't believe that the ridge was completely gone. I did not think that my desired results could be met until going to Dr. Bitner. If you are looking for a viable and final solution schedule a consultation with Dr. Bitner.

Dr. Bitner performed a revision rhinoplasty on me and I couldn't be more pleased. The first rhinoplasty, done by a different surgeon, left me with internal valve collapse, making it difficult for me to breathe through my nose. The techniques used in the first rhinoplasty also left a noticeable bump on the side of my bridge bone, a bulbous and uneven tip, and not enough length removed. Dr. Bitner fixed all of this in the revision so I can breathe much better and the esthetics are exactly what I had hoped for in the first place. Dr. Bitner seems to truly care about each patient. He took as much time as I wanted and answered all of my questions in non-rushed consultations. The imaging technology he uses helped me visualize the end result without going under just hoping my nose would turn out okay, like I did with my original surgeon. The staff is also very good. I always felt welcome and well taken care of. Since it was a possibility for health insurance to be involved in my particular procedure, Brandi was continuously on top of communicating with the insurance company to get the best outcome possible. I would highly recommend Dr. Bitner to anyone looking for facial plastic surgery, especially a revision rhinoplasty.

At 50, I had an upper and lower facelift and upper and lower eyes done. Dr Bitner also suggested that I get lip fat transfer too by using the fat from my facelift. I wasn't so sure about getting my lips done since I already have full lips. Dr. Bitner and his nurse were just fantastic and responded immediately whenever I needed something or had a question. The lip swelling took the longest to go down, but WOW! I was so pleased with everything at seven weeks! My lips look amazing and natural, my eyes look natural and beautiful, and my face looks so good and so young! I was stunned at my before and after pictures! Two months post surgery, I was cast in a TV show as a college student! Three months post, I was at a wedding and the photographer asked if I was one of the former roommates of the 24-year-old bride! I'm so absolutely pleased with my results! I know that I chose the right doctor to trust my face with.

I solely chose Dr. Bitner off of his great reviews. However, that turned out to be the worst decision I could have made. I was experiencing some breathing concerns that I wanted to have addressed as well as some cosmetic concerns. Dr. Bitner was very nice and showed me all of these incredible images of what my nose could look like. He showed me how he could correct the deviation to make it straight, move the tip up so that I no longer had a downward tip, and correct my breathing issues. Unfortunately, he did none of that. I still have the same crooked/downward tip nose that I had before the surgery. I will say that I can finally breath out of my nose now. However, it has been almost a year since my surgery and I STILL constantly have drainage in my nose throughout the day. So now, instead of not being able to breath, I am just constantly blowing my nose. I just traded one issue for another. Another issue I had was that Dr. Bitner originally told me that my surgery was going to cost a little more because I had had a prior nose surgery and he would therefore probably need to take some skin from the back of my ear. However, when I awoke from the surgery I was pleased to hear that he didn't have to do that and there was still plenty of cartilage in my nose. I later called the office to see if that portion would get refunded, which they didn't think was possible but they said they would have Dr. Bitner call me personally to discuss this. He never called. Also, During my first follow up visit post op, I expressed how my nose was still crooked and his response was, "not every nose is going to turn out perfect." He never once acknowledged my concerns, so I never returned for my next follow up. I am now stuck paying on a loan for my surgery for the next 5+ years for a surgery that I still wish I could get since Dr. Bitner failed to meet any of my wishes. Do yourself a favor and find a different surgeon. As I mentioned before, I solely chose Dr. Bitner off of his great reviews. Boy, was I wrong!

Three months ago, Dr. Bitner performed Blepharoplasty surgery on my upper eye lids to remove the excess skin that was falling down onto my eyelids. At the same time, he also removed the excess bagginess below my lower eye lids. He and his staff were extremely proficient, informative and caring with the work they performed. My surgery came out better than I could have imagined. I followed Dr. Bitner's post operation procedures exactly and had exactly no issues. I healed very quickly, experienced very little pain, can't believe how much better I can see and wondered why I waited so long to have this done. I highly recommend Dr. Bitner and his staff for any procedures they perform. You won't be disappointed.

I had Rhinoplasty with Dr. Bitner. I had been wanting this done for as long as I can remember and finding the right Doctor was very important. I was going to live with this new nose for the rest of my life and I wanted it done right. My initial consultation was easy. The entire staff made me feel welcomed and comfortable. When I met with Dr. Bitner, I told him what I wanted and he took the time to walk me through the procedure and answered all my question. He even recommended a few things I had not thought of. The recovery time was quick and easy. One of the main reasons I chose Dr. Bitner was that he has his own sterile O.R. in his office and he took as much time as I needed when I met with him. I didn't feel rushed at all. I love my new nose!! Hhis staff is professional and really showed how much they care about their patients. I would recommend him to anyone; and I have!

Choosing a surgeon for my rhinoplasty was not a decision I took lightly. I am Canadian, and, after three years of researching surgeons, from all over Canada and the U.S., I chose Dr. John Bitner. Why? Because he is both a facial plastic surgeon and an ENT specialist. I wanted someone who is an expert, for not only did I want my nose to look nice and natural, I also wanted it to function properly. Also, my nose had been badly broken when I was a child, so I needed both plastic surgery and reconstruction. With every interaction, Dr. Bitner took the time to listen to, and answer, all of my questions and concerns. I could tell he genuinely cares about his patients. Additionally, his patient coordinator, Brandi, was a gem to work with! She was wonderfully helpful with scheduling appointments, with taking pre-and post-surgery pictures, and with providing information on the financing options available. On the morning of my surgery, Dr. Bitner’s team made me feel so comfortable. I wish I could recall the anesthesiologist’s name, for he was especially kind and comforting. It has been six months since my surgery, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! My nose now ‘fits’ my face perfectly. Honestly, no one would ever guess I’ve had a rhinoplasty, because it looks completely natural. I highly recommend Dr. Bitner and his team!

I've put this review off for a really long time but, seriously, not a day goes by that I don't think about how unhappy I am with my results. I LOOK DEFORMED. I hate my nose worse now than I did before. I got a rhinoplasty in 2010 and was unhappy with the results from the start. My nose looks nothing like what was shown to me that it would look like, and I told the nurse after my reveal that my nostrils were now 2 different shapes and sizes, and I didn't like how pointy my nose was and she said that would go away. Well 6 years later and it seems even worse now than it was then, cartilage has separated, I went to another surgeon and he said that was due to Dr. Bitner not putting it in correctly. I have written emails over the last few years and called Dr. Bitners office and left messages to try and see if he would work with me to fix this but there is never a reply. I've been through hell with my nose ( it was broken when I was 3 due to me getting hit in the face with a baseball bat) and I was so excited to finally not have that major insecurity, and it's been so much worse since going to see Dr. Bitner, my insecurity is worse since having the surgery than it ever was before. I've been trying to find a surgeon for the last few years who can fix what he did but they all say it would be a very difficult revision rhinoplasty to perform due to the way my nostrils are shaped now, and they can't guarantee that it would work.

My rating is 4.5 stars out of 5 stars. I had a lip augmentation and lip implant, as well as a brown lift (all completed at the same time). I was done with paying for injections several times a year without getting the results that I was seeking so began considering permanent surgery in 2016. I found Dr. Bitner’s office in mid 2018, while I was still in transition moving from California (for work) to Utah. I communicated frequently with his office staff to answer all of my questions before having the in-person consultation in Layton, Utah. Upon meeting in person, I began to feel comfortable with his professional experience and demeanor, and was able to entrust Dr. Bitner and his staff with my surgery. The office is highly efficient, with facilities to perform surgery onsite. I found his staff to be just as knowledgeable, professional and experienced as Dr. Bitner. Recovery was a little longer than projected for me personally; I had noticeable bruising for 3 weeks around my eyes (not two weeks as projected). The first week was highly uncomfortable, and I am glad that I filled a prescription for painkillers. They were able to ease the very tight sensation where the staples and stiches where placed in my head and face. After the third week I started to see the wonderful effects and was highly pleased. It is now week six and I LOVE my results; natural looking, yet super effective! I now have a full upper lip, along with non-hooded and open bright eyes.

The only reason I’m giving Dr Bitner 5 stars is because they don’t allow 10! And that goes for his staff as well. I swore I would NEVER get plastic surgery on my face, but here I am looking & FEELING 20 yrs younger at almost 70 yrs old! I was extremely nervous having seen nightmare results on several friends from other doctors. I didn’t want to look stretched or “fake” with movie-star huge lips. I just wanted to look natural & refreshed and I do! What finally made the decision was that my chin muscle had separated, getting wider & more unsightly each year, until I didn’t feel like “ME” anymore. People may call this vanity surgery, but to me, “VANITY” is constantly focusing on yourself. What I feel now is just the OPPOSITE! I just went to my 50 yr reunion, and was completely free of self-consciousness, focusing on concerns for my friends and laughing about old times. I would do this again in a heartbeat! I hadn’t realized how much I was “hiding” and avoiding public situations, and now I look forward to getting out! In fact, I’m feeling hope & excitement about life! Dr. Bitner and his staff are fabulous. I had suffered for 3 years with a hard lump under my eye from bellafill injections. I had several consultations with other plastic surgeons who recommended a blepharoplasty (even though I'm only 34 and my eyes are fine other than the lump). Dr. Bitner instead opted for a much smaller procedure which effectively removed the bump and has left no scar! Even after only 6 weeks you cannot see the scar. It's amazing! So grateful to have such a skilled surgeon! I would highly recommend.

This was by far the best decision I’ve ever made! I needed a septoplasty perforation repair and had been told there was nothing I could do to fix the large hole in my septum. I then found Dr. Bitner and everything changed. He was very positive he could help with my perforation and I was extremely happy!! I never wrote this review because he was so nice and always answered my emails. But the truth is, my experience was not good. I got a rhinoplasty after a car accident that made my nose crooked. I had no breathing problems, then had them after my initial surgery. I then had a revision with him, which I can say he was not qualified at all to do. It was also without any anesthesia which was extremely painful. It did not improve my breathing. I ended up going to the best doctor in Australia to get it fixed, and he said he was sweating it was so difficult. My breathing is okay now, but not what it used to be. The thing is, I believe that all doctors have some nose surgeries not work out, but Dr Bitner should have told me -first-more of my options with my revision and -second-, probably told me he was not qualified to fix it and referred me to someone else

I recently had a sinoplasty performed by Dr. Bitner to correct damage from two previous breaks caused by old sports injuries. Other docs were unwilling to go in and reshape the damaged bone and cartridge structures, but Dr Bitner completely restructured everything by returning my entire nose to its natural shape. Not only can I now breath amazing again, and sleep better than I ever thought possible, I now have a perfectly straight, natural -looking nose again. It’s now much thinner and gone is the giant indentation and the knot that was on one side. After years of comments and questions from people about about my broken, crooked nose, I now have confidence in my appearance again which has been amazing. Very pleased with the whole Team down there, from the initial consultation, recovery all the way thru the follow up care they have gone out of their way for me. couldn’t be happier with this procedure and to think this was not even a full nose job!

From the very first time I called to schedule a consultation, I knew I had chosen the very best to perform my rhinoplasty. I’d disliked my nose since I was really young and I’d only hoped that one day I’d get a rhinoplasty. When the time came to find a doctor, I read tons of reviews, listened to lots of experiences and researched doctors all over Utah. From the start, it was very clear that Dr John Bitner was highly skilled in performing rhinoplasty and specializing in faces in general. That was a big deal to me. I didn’t want to be going to someone who doesn’t specialize in faces, especially when a nose is front and center! The surgery and recovery for me far exceeded my expectations and were both so smooth. I did have a question during recovery and emailed Dr Bitner, he was so quick to respond and took time out of his weekend to respond! To me, that shows that he truly cares about his patients. The nurses and staff were amazing as well and so willing to answer questions and were very thorough. The receptionist is super sweet and I’ve never had to tell her my name when I check in because she remembers me and even our past conversations! As for my nose, I’ve had SO many compliments and everyone mentions how incredible my doctor is! I’ve had lots of happy tears because my nose looks like I’ve always dreamed and hoped it would look. Dr. Bitner is a consummate professional, instilling confidence with first encounter. He presented individualized treatment plan with expected outcome, describing benefits/discomfort of each. I had facelift/laser and SMAS procedures and found the experience very uncomfortable with several week recovery. At eight weeks postop, results are amazing and most areas of numbness have recovered. Lips were longest recovery, feeling quite numb and tight. Most of the tightness in area of neck and face has resolved and scars are becoming less tender continually. The surgical center personnel were very supportive and caring and the pre/postop instructions, medications, creams, et cetera were carefully described and presented. The benefit from the procedure(s) is remarkable!

Hi , I am a 56 year old female. My Story is probably your story! I went to Dr. Bitner to try Botox. I was very nervous just because I hate needles and really have anxiety about Doctors Offices. But I was sad every time I looked in the mirror because my face doesn’t match how I feel. The first time I went I noticed someone in the waiting room all bandaged up and I thought to myself “I will NEVER do that!” Well needless to say, Never say Never! About 1 year later, I casually asked Dr. Bitner about a facelift. He really took some time to suggest I make an appointment for a consulation, which I did. The consultation was about 2 weeks later and I used those 2 weeks to do some research. Everything I found online was pretty much what Dr. Bitner and his team told me. Dr. Bitner suggested I have a facelift, browlift, Blepharoplasty under eyes) and Lip Augmentation. I decided to do it! It was an exciting experience if you can believe surgery is exciting. The most surprising was that the pain was minimal. I have had more pain at the dentist office. In fact, I believe the only pain was the first day the rest of the time is was just a little uncomfortable. It’s been 4 months now and the swelling is gone, no pain, just a little tingling sometimes and a bit of numbness on the top of my head. All of which was consistent with everything I was told by Dr. Bitner, Jamie, and Brandi. One of the best parts of my venture was the way the staff treated me. Dr. Bitner is so easy to talk to and takes his time in explaining whatever questions you might have for him. He is honest; he won’t do anything if you don’t need it. I told him I want my upper eyes done too but he said I won’t need it because I was having a brow lift. He is not just out to make money. He genuinely cares for his patients. His staff is the same way. Jaime is awesome. On a side note, I believe she might have saved my life because each time I went for Botox she warned me that my blood pressure was high and I needed to get it checked. I did and it is now under control because of Jaime. The entire team was wonderful during my surgery, Robin and Emily and of course Glenn the anesthesiologist. And each time I go I am greeted by Debbie who is the friendliest most upbeat receptionist I have ever come in contact. If you are thinking about getting a procedure done but are being held back because of being afraid, I urge you to take the plunge. If I would have known I would have done it years ago!!

Dr. John Bitner is incredible!!! He is hands down the best facial surgeon. I traveled from Orange County California to bring my daughter to Dr. Bitner because he is that good. My daughter needed a rhinoplasty. Because she was only 16 years old I was very nervous and extremely cautious on who I would let do the rhinoplasty. I had consultations with a few very highly recommended surgeons in Newport Beach, CA but I was just not comfortable. After my initial meeting with Dr. Bitner, I scheduled her surgery. Its been almost one year since her surgery and we couldn't be any happier! Her rhinoplasty looks amazing. It corrected all the physical issues that caused concern. The best part it looks totally natural, not the "fake nose job" look. In Orange County you see a lot of plastic surgery so you can spot it a mile away and hers looks totally natural. I went and saw Dr. John Bitner for a complex revision rhinoplasty in March of 2019 to fix a boxy-looking nose another Salt Lake City facial plastic surgeon gave me back in 2017. My experience with Dr. Bitner was awesome; it was a much better experience overall than it was with my first nose surgery with my first facial surgeon. Dr. Bitner listened to all of my concerns at my first initial consultation and even let me have an additional second consultation given it was my second surgery on my nose and I wanted to be secure in my decisions and needs. He was very honest and realistic and informed me he'd do the best to give me what I would want along with his suggestions and expertise. He told me it would not be perfect but that he could guarantee it would look much better and well-suited for my face. My surgery was a breeze. I had a great recovery: no bruising at all, minimal bleeding, no post-surgery nausea and I felt pretty good after a week of recovery. I was so happy when my cast came off a week later, that I started crying tears of joy. I LOVED it, and he was right: it looked much better and much like the computer-morphed images he takes at the consultation. I still had a little bit of a bump on the side of my nose that was overlooked, but I knew Dr. Bitner would want to make it as perfect as possible, so about 4 months after my revisional surgery, he went in again for a small RASP procedure free of additional charge. I LOVED that he wants to make his patients happy but is also super realistic in achievement. My nose isn't perfect but it was never super symmetrical or perfect to begin with, and he made it look SO much better than it was before I had any surgeries at all. Going through a revision nose surgery was initially so scary for me, but he made the experience well worth it. Definitely recommend! Great surgeon with awesome skill and personable staff and practice.

As much as my daughter wanted her nose fixed, she was still very nervous. I researched the entire Salt Lake Valley and selected Dr. Bitner for the most natural and long-term results. I would definitely not go back to Dr Bitner. Scroll to the next-to-last paragraph if you just want to hear what went wrong. -I did a lot of research before choosing a doctor to perform my rhinoplasty. Dr Bitner was one of the more expensive options, but I chose him because he had high reviews. Things started off fine. In the consultation he seemed friendly and patient. He answered every question I had and was incredibly confident that he could give me the results I wanted. Leading up to the procedure the staff walked me through what to expect and were very kind and helpful. The day of the surgery things went fine. I was anxious, and the nurses and anesthesiologist helped me feel comfortable. -I was given Dr Bitner's cell number and encouraged to text or call if I had any concerns after the surgery. Once I got home I noticed the tip of my nose was still crooked. I had previously been told that there are things that can be done after the surgery to make further corrections, so I texted him with my concern. The tip of my nose was, and still is, noticeably crooked, so I sent him a photo at his request. He responded "Still looks pretty great though right. ;)" With a winky face... I expressed that the fact that I and my family could still notice the crookedness even with all the bandaging was disconcerting since that was my biggest motivator for getting the surgery. He kept assuring me that I was going to look good regardless and that he was proud of his work. I would have been happy with a "It does still look a little crooked and we can discuss a revision surgery or other options at our next appointment," but I was instead put off by the fact he refused to acknowledge my concerns. -The post-op appointment. This is where things got bad. He walked in and said he wanted to hurry up and "get this over with" because he had other patients waiting. I was anxious about having the splints removed from my nasal cavity and asked if he could quickly tell me what the removal process was before he did it. He said he didn't have time. He reached for my face and I jumped a little and said I was scared because I didn't know what he was about to do. He said if I would just be quiet and hold still then I would find out. I burst into tears. He was very annoyed and preceded to grab my face and remove the splints rather aggressively. He then announced that if I had any questions or concerns I could bring them up with another member of his staff, and walked out. When I came back later for my "after" photos he constantly praised his work, and talked about how great of a surgeon he was. My nose has some definite wonky spots in addition to the crookedness and he seemed offended that I would imply that his work wasn't perfection. I wasn't trying to insult him, I just wanted to know what options there were to fix those things. When I talked to another member of the staff they acknowledged my concerns but said the injections and other treatments they offered to fix the new problems with my nose would be at an additional cost and probably wouldn't do much to help. -Brandi and the nurses and everyone else there did a great job, but Dr Bitner was a jerk the minute I'd paid the ~$7,500 and had the surgery done. The end result was better than the nose I went in with, but not great and definitely not worth the price. I wish I had gone to someone else. I also am suspicious about their 4.9 stars. I wonder if they flag and have google delete the negative reviews. For the record, I was 100% a real patient of his, though I am writing this review from my junk email address with a different name because I don't want all my friends knowing I've had a nose job.

BEST FACIAL PLASTIC SURGEON EVER! I had a rhinoplasty done (for cosmetic reasons) by Dr. John Bitner & my results are INCREDIBLY natural and beautiful! I'm so in love with my nose which is super weird to say because it was my biggest insecurity and now it's my favorite feature on my face! He was very patient and answered all of my questions & concerns I had. His staff is very kind which made the whole experience that much easier (his nurse Jamie is the best!) I was really nervous to go under for surgery but everyone in the operating room was so calming! Recovery wasn't bad at all, honestly it was so much easier and painless than I thought it would be! Today, I'm now 6 weeks post op and love my nose even more than I did when I got the cast off! I would 110% recommend him to anyone looking to get work done, he really knows what he's doing and you will be in the best hands possible!

I am 21 years old, female. I got a nose job because of cosmetic reasons and I just happened to have a deviated septum. Dr John Bitner is the best plastic surgeon in Utah. Dr John Bitner is not only an amazing surgeon but an amazing surgeon. I never doubted his ability once. When i first went in he was very friendly and knew exactly what I wanted and made sure that I knew what I wanted. He did the 3D imaging on my nose and we sat there for awhile just deciding every single detail I wanted. I was confident that he was the surgeon for me. All of his staff were extra friendly too! Don't want to leave that part out! When I went in for my Pre Op appointment he gave me a little card with his cell number on it in case I had any questions before or after surgery. On surgery day i was super nervous and asked if we could change some things on the 3D imaging and he was so happy to help. Not once did I ever feel like I was bothering him or he had better things to do. When I woke up from surgery I was obviously still loopy and I dont remember this but my mom said I immediately started thanking everyone on the staff and when he came in a thanked him over and over again and said that I knew I made the right choice choosing him. Healing was easy and virtually painless. But I knew if I had any questions I could just text him. When I got my cast off he was probably more excited than me. He was so happy with the results and just complimented my face and my nose over and over. He really made me feel VIP and like he understood why I needed this done, that it wasn't stupid to want a nose job so young. I honestly think no other surgeon could have performed at his skill level. My nose was very very crooked in fact he said it was a 10/10 haha. And now it is 100% straight and 100% beautiful. He really is the best surgeon in Utah, Salt lake County, Wasatch Front! He really did so much better than I expected. I am blown away by my results and I know for a fact I wouldn't have this amazing of a nose if I had gone to any other surgeon. Dr Bitner just knows what he's doing!
