I searched and studied and searched for years before I chose a surgeon to work on my face. I felt best about Dr. McCann for quite a few reasons. 1. He is totally passionate about what he does. 2. He is a perfectionist and pays attention to detail. 3. He only works on faces and does reconstructive surgery for many problems so he knows the anatomy of the face well and has had a lot of experience. 4. He is respected in the medical community and was referred to me by another doctor who received necessary reconstructive surgery from Dr McCann. 5. His results were impressive in the pictures I viewed. Besides all that, Dr. McCann is fun to work with, has a great sense of humor and addresses every issue, concern and fear. I’m amazed at the change in my appearance. Many people do not know I’ve had it done, which is a good sign. I love looking in the mirror now and know I look as relaxed and happy as I feel inside. I feel younger as it’s sort of changed my perspective of myself. I went into this operation questioning my motives. I knew it wasn’t meant to make me happy- because I already was happy. But I didn’t look it. Dr. McCann fixed that in a big way!!

I recently had surgery to have the bags under my eyes removed. I made an appointment with Dr. John D. McCann . Immediately I was impressed. The staff was helpful and very professional. Dr. McCann gave me a folder with all the information I needed. Details about the surgery and the care after surgery. The information was very through and helpful. After the surgery I received constant E-Mails regarding my condition. It has now been 90 days and I am so happy with the results. What an excellent surgeon! The chief of Ophthalmology at Duke referred me to Dr. McCann. I had a special case with a nodule formation in my tear trough due to a long term filler (Bellfaill). I wanted it surgically removed. Dr. McCann carefully examined me and told me it was better not to operate. Although personally I am sad, I appreciate his wisdom, experience and insight knowing this was not the best for me and would cause greater problems than the one I was seeking to solve. A hallmark of a good surgeon is knowing the limits-when to operate and when to not. My hats off to him as an excellent surgeon who keeps his patients' outcome before his personal profit/gain. I wish we had more surgeons around like him!

Dr McCann did the repair after I had MOHs procedure done to remove cancer near my eye. He did an incredible job and at 3 1/2 months out, you can hardly even tell that I had surgery. I would highly recommend him and I will definately go back to him in the future if the situation arrises.

Over the years my right eyelid continued to droop and I just figured that I would have to live with it. That is until I met Dr. John McCann. He did such a wonderful job fixing that droopy eyelid. Dr. John McCann and staff are professional and skilled at what they do. I had some extensive eye surgery of the upper and lower lids and brow area of my forehead. I'm thrilled with the results. Dr. McCann and staff checked on my recovery constantly and provided tips on comfort and quick healing. I think the eye goggles sped up the process. The surgery went well and recovery was smooth. It takes awhile to recover from all the surgery I had, much more than a simple upper eyelid surgery, but the results are worth it.

Terrible experience!! I required eyelid surgery and brow lift, but Dr McCann cut right over my eyebrows (without consulting me) and left huge scars causing a permanent disfigurement. The scars are puckered and pull weird causing headaches, leaving the center brow to sag in a perpetual scowl. I work in the public sector and my current appearance has seriously impacted my confidence, which has also negatively impacted my work. Dr McCann even agreed that is was one of the worst results he has seen, but only offered to refer me to a dermatologist, failing to make it right by me. In fact, he claims he is not responsible for how I healed and was extremely rude when confronted about the botched surgery. Now I have to find, and pay for, a competent plastic surgeon and dermatologist to fix the problems. I am rating him with one star ONLY because his staff was professional and courteous.

Great work and a really positive experience. I don't know why I waited so long to have my eyelids done! Because the skin was actually blocking my vision, my insurance paid for the procedure -- and now I look 20 years younger. I think Dr. McCann and his staff are great!

This is Roger Tolman: I did not think I had a problem until my eye doctor told me I should address having my eye lids reduced and my wife agreed with him. I took them at their word even though I still could not see the issue. I made an appointment and followed through with having my eye lids reduced and my forehead lifted. I now have the before and after pictures which show how bad it was before and a muchyone improved look today. Dr McCann was very up front with everything and both he and his staff were friendly and helpful throughout the whole procedure. He was willing to perform some minor procedures to help my eye heal faster.
