I'll start off by saying that I had a very pleasant experience here overall and am extremely happy with my results. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful; all of my questions and concerns (which arguably were not many) were answered thoroughly and without any problems. I found Dr. Funk through Google as well as through a doctor relative of mine. The reason I went in was because of a large dorsal hump I wanted removed. During my consultation, Dr. Funk showed me through photoshop what my nose would look like without the bump and even made my nose a bit straighter - I hadn't even realized before that it was slightly crooked. I really liked the way he made it look and scheduled my surgery the day of my consultation. The recovery was rather simple and lasted about a week. I did experience nausea a few days after the surgery as well as some discomfort, but it was nothing that couldn't be handled and it all passed very quickly. For the most part I just relaxed in bed and either watched Netflix or slept. I am two months post op today and am extremely pleased with the outcome. I feel much happier with my appearance and would absolutely recommend Dr. Funk to anyone seeking a rhinoplasty :D

My experience with Dr. Funk was excellent. The initial consultation was very informative. The consultation was personalized to my desires and what would be able to be accomplished through surgery. Dr. Funk gives his honest opinion about what can be done and what will look the best depending on your own features and face shape with Rhinoplasty. I had breathing issues for years, and it’s gone now, I can normally breath and it’s amazing. It was a very pleasant and easy experience working with Dr.Funk. He really is professional with great bed side manor and knows what is best for his clients. I had a rhinoplasty December of 2018 and the post-op was overall not horrible. I had very minimal bruising and just swelling in my face; not much pain in my nose just soreness and congestion which can just be annoying. I had a bump removal and tip slightly lifted. The swelling went down a lot in the first few months! It did take me about 6-7 months to get used to my new nose and really appreciate it! It is all part of the process but I truly love the work. Dr. Funk performed my rhinoplasty almost 6 weeks ago and I'm so far very very impressed. The staff are very welcoming and organized. My surgery went very well and I had no pain at all before, during, or after. My recovery took about a week more or less until I felt well again. I didn't have any pain during my recovery but maybe slight discomfort that went away quickly with little help of medications. I worked out two weeks after my surgery and had no problem breathing. Though I'm still a little swollen, I'm very satisfied with the results :)

Six weeks out from my rhinoplasty I have amazing results. Surgery was easy, recovery was difficult, and the results are wonderful. I had a very large, long, protruding hawk-like nose with a long hanging tip, wide nostrils and a prominent shelf-like bridge. My nose was my face. One of the BEST decisions I've made. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to have rhinoplasty, but have been too afraid to do anything to my face. First, I have to say that I never thought I would get a nose job. I've always wanted too, but I was terrified! Finally, after years of trying to love my nose or at least like it, I bit the bullet & decided to go for it. Yolo all the way. I saw several doctors but I really liked Dr. Funk & his team. The staff was friendly & not at all pretentious as they are at other places(won't name names). Dr. Funk answered my questions & he didn't seem like he was just going through the motions. I really can tell that he cares about his patients & wants to give the best results possible. I then met with Leah who went over all of the financial stuff with me. Leah is a gem. Talking with her is like getting a big, warm hug! She made me feel so comfortable that I signed up that day. The surgery itself was a breeze & pain was minimal. The only thing is that it's extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't breathe out of my nose for weeks. I'm highly claustrophobic so I initially thought I would freak out, but I didn't. It wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be. Trust me, if I can handle it, anyone can. Since I'm older than the typical rhinoplasty patient, I did have a TON of bruising & swelling, but it was gone in about 3 weeks. It's been 6 months now & I love how cute my nose is!!! I have a great profile & everyone says I look great but they just can't seem to put their finger on what it was that I did. By far, this was the best money that I have ever spent on myself.

i did quite a bit of research for nose work before visiting with Dr. Funk. He was amazing when I first discussed my surgical options with him and I couldn't wait to schedule! In Nov. 2013, I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. The MOHS surgeon said that while the spot on the left side of my nose was small, it was in fact deep and probably more tissue would need to be removed to clear the margins. It is definitely overwhelming to think that this little spot would require more than one surgery. For this reason, the surgeon referred me to Dr. Funk for evaluation and reconstruction of the area after the cancer was removed. This was the BEST thing that could have happened. Dr. Funk and his staff are very professional, personable, and friendly. They did an excellent job of explaining the surgical options, post-op care, and recovery. While no surgery is without some discomfort, there really was very little pain on my face and nose. Because cartilage had to taken from my ear to reconstruct my left nostril, this was the most uncomfortable part of the surgery for me. A second surgery was done last summer to release a small flap. There is very little visible scar remaining and my results exceeded my expectations. I am very grateful and cannot thank Dr. Funk and his staff enough for all of their help and support over this last year and half. He is an excellent and amazing surgeon.

After a consultation with Dr. Funk and learning everything I needed to know about the procedures with Leah, I knew I was in the best hands. I experienced little to no bleeding and no pain at all, only mild discomfort. The cast came off after just a week and within another few days, the tape was off as well and the healing process since then has been nothing but smooth. It's been four months now since my surgery and I could not be happier with the way my nose looks. Before, I had a nose that didn't fit well at all on my face. The bump was large and bigger on one side than the other giving my nose an awkward lopsided look. Dr. Funk smoothed down the bump and rotated the tip giving my nose a softer much more feminine look that fits my face perfectly. There is no scarring or asymmetry and I absolutely love how natural it looks. The change was subtle but it had a drastic effect on the overall appearance of my face and especially my self-confidence. I'm not camera shy anymore and I can finally make eye contact with people during conversations. I feel like when people look at me now they see my eyes and barely notice my nose which is exactly what I was hoping for. First 3rd week post op today! The swelling on my bridge has finally leveled out and my nose looks really cute now! Deviated septum on the right side which he fixed and now able to breathe out of my right side. He also gave me a tiny chin implant to balance things out and wow what a difference! Got lip fillers done after and now I'm complete! Recovery sucked for the first 3 days but on day 4-5 u will start feeling way better. Only thing I didn't like was that I was told one price of what the payment was going to be day of surgery, but ended up getting 3 different prices in total. One in office, one a day before (which jumped another 2k for some reason?), and then the day of surgery which came down a little bit but ended up still being more than what was discussed in office. Other than that I am pleased with the results

Dr Funk has the best approach I have ever experienced with any doctor. You can tell he really loves his profession. He is as excited about your procedure as you are and really makes feel you comfortable with your decision. I had a bad deviated septum, a bulbous tip, and collapsed valves. The first three days were uncomfortable but not painful. I was a bit bruised up for that time but I worked from home that full week beginning the fourth day after surgery. After the first week bruising was completely gone and I returned to the office. After four weeks I can breathe for the first time in my life through both nostrils. Dr funk says I'm still swollen so I can only expect it to get better. Aesthetically my nose is much straighter now and the bulbous tip is gone. There is still a lot of swelling at the tip which he says takes the longest to subside. Again I can only expect it to get better. I would highly recommend Dr Funk to anyone thinking of this type of surgery. It would also be nice for my other doctors to take a lesson from him on how to speak with your patients.

I had a crooked nose with a bulbous, droopy tip, a slight dorsal hump, and a deviated septum corrected by Dr. Funk. My septorhinoplasy was 5 weeks ago, and I could not be happier with the results. I mostly got the surgery for cosmetic reasons, but my breathing has improved so much that I guess I just wasn't fully aware of how much trouble I had breathing through my nose before the surgery. If obstructed breathing is all you've ever known, it's sometimes hard to recognize how much better your breathing could and should be. In addition to that drastic improvement, the cosmetic changes are everything I'd hoped they would be. My new nose looks extremely natural, and it finally fits my face instead of detracting from my other features. My family didn't notice that I got anything done, but my acupuncturist asked, "So why do you look so different? Is it just your hair that changed? It's like there's a sparkle in your eye that wasn't there before..." Basically, it's the best of both worlds, because the changes are obvious to me, but not so obvious to other people that anyone knows I had work done. I still look like me, just... better! :) I went on vacation three weeks after my surgery, and it was so nice to (for the first time ever) not want to delete about 80% of the pictures taken of me on our trip. Dr. Funk's office is run in an extremely professional manner, and I've never had to wait more than just a couple of minutes for an appointment. I think Dr Funk knows how to perform a good procedure but I dont think he cares about his patients. I had my ears stitched up. literally about 20 titches in each ear- super simple. Left- the pain was pretty high- told me to take extra strength Tylenol- called them a day later complained about pain and said they couldn't help. Went back to have the stitches taken out. He made me cry from the pain and I've had a nose job (I know pain). Had to go back again to have my ears re pierced. Asked me if I had my earrings which NO ONE ever told me to bring. So I had to leave. Reschedule ANOTHER appt to go back and have them pierced. When I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma on my forehead I was pleased to find out that Dr Funk would be able to perform my reconstructive surgery. Dr Funk came highly recommended by my Mohs surgeon. Dr Funk performed a skin flap and I had stitches up the Centre of my forehead and down the side of my face. Because I replied to them to confirm my appointment at 4pm on a Friday (work day) and not before noon they canceled my appointment and scheduled someone else in its place. No where in their emails did it say they even needed a confirmation it only said if you CANCEL let us know 48 hours prior to the visit. Dr. Funk just did my rhinoplasty last week. I've always hated my nose, and wanted to change the way it looks. But never actually took the courage to do so because I was so scared that the result won't be good. I mean we're talking about face, so the smallest mistake will ruin the way it look. Anyways I searched a lot for good doctors in Houston, any time I was on google it was because I was looking for good doctors and reading reviews. I finally decided to go for a consultation with Dr. Funk. And that was the best decision I made. The consultation went very well and smooth, he answered all my questions and reassured me, he was very honest and told me what he could and couldn't do. That was it, that same day I decided on the surgery and got an appointment, didn't even think about it. You got to trust him. He just had my cast removed and cleaned my nose today, and so far I love the result, there are some swelling and bruises, but it will go away with time. He is not just a doctor, but an artist as well. Also he has such a great staff.

I had a Rhinoplasty with Dr. Funk and I could honestly not be happier with how everything went. From the initial consultation to the surgery and post op, Dr. Funk and his team were absolutely incredible. During the consultation, he was very attentive and took his time to listen to what I wanted changed about my nose. Unlike a lot of facial plastic surgeons, he told me what world look best for my face with my features. This resulted in a super natural look. My new nose looks very refined, much improved, and super natural. The day of the surgery went very smoothly. Dr. Funk's team was very friendly and kept reassuring us that everything was going smoothly. I was 19 at the time of the surgery and my mom was the one who took me and waited in the waiting room. She was really worried (as all moms are), but dr. funk's team came in during the surgery to keep her updated. This made her feel much more at ease. I experienced little to no pain and the recovery process was as well as it could have gone. Overall, if you are considering doing a rhinoplasty with Dr. Funk, I would definitely recommend going for it. Had a rhinoplasty done by Dr. Funk about 4 years ago. I remember my initial red flag was when I was laying on the bed pre-surgery and Dr. Funk showed up and had no idea what I wanted my nose to look like. Anyway, I felt like a professional would look over his notes and details of previous meetings to confirm what I wanted out of this surgery... Jump about 6 months forward after the operation, I noticed every time I smiled my nose would appear crooked! Then I realized it actually was crooked!! Dr. Funk left me with an abnormality I never had before. I tried to email his “wonderful staff” and never heard back, it’s funny because after I sent that email I immediately stopped receiving any of his promotional emails too. I hope you take this small piece of advice and continue your search away from this doctor, after all one very expensive surgery can change your life and not for the better.

In May of this year I had a terrible accident leaving me with a severed septum. Not only could I not breathe well, I was in pain, had frequent migraines, and a very visible dent where the bridge of my nose met the tip. I also had a previous deviated septum and a bone spur. It was bad. Dr. Funk has made me whole again and I will be forever grateful. At the consultation he was very thorough and made me feel comfortable form the get go. I had shopped around for other opinions. There were even a few Dr's that thought a "team" of surgeon's would be necessary, however I knew instantly that the only Dr. I wanted to perform my surgery was Dr. Funk. I came to see Dr. Funk based on the reviews I’ve read. It was my first time getting dysport and I was nervous. During my consultation Dr. Funk seemed pretty nice but once he came back into the room to do the procedure, it was like a whole different person came in. He was cold, unfriendly and had horrible bed side manner. I told him I wanted to look very natural and still be able to move my eyebrows. He left me with a giant knot on my forehead that was purple for days, along with one droopy eye and eyebrow. My face is completely frozen and it is very difficult to keep my eye open. Would not recommend him to my worst enemy.

UPDATE: I was so impressed in the beginning but not even a year later I think my nasal cavity collapsed. I can’t breathe out of my left nostril and have kept him updated with that since October. As of lately you can actually SEE the left side looks like it’s collapsed and makes my whole nose look crooked. I drove an hr to dr funks office and the staff as always was very polite. Dr funk spent no longer than 4 mins to talk to me and sounded like he had a prepared speech. He said to use medicated nasal spray and told me my nose was crooked to begin with and the bone grew back because I’m young.... like really? I paid $12000 and my nose didn’t last a year. I am beyond heartbroken and am meeting with a lawyer to discuss my breathing difficulties. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND STAY FAR AWAY! To start off with I had a naturally big nose and breaking it didn't help. It had a massive lump on the top, crooked, and a big tip. I had hated my nose since middle school and whenever I looked in the mirror it's all I could see. I decided to get it done 2 and a half months ago and now I look amazing and it has brought my confidence through the roof...after only 2 and a half months!! I now have this little cute straight nose that fits my face perfectly. I'm not going to lie, the recovery wasn't fun. I unrealistically expected to look good right after and instead I looked like a newborn rhino. I had swelling that was pretty bad along with bruising but it all went away within a week. It's also uncomfortable because there's itching and the fact you can't breathe out of your nose which made it hard to eat, drink, and sleep. But I would do it all 100 times over for the results I got. My family members even forget sometimes that I even got it done because it is so natural and fits my face perfectly. The friendliness of the staff is second to none. Everyone is so genuinely nice and they answer every question and concern thoroughly. If you are going to get work done, especially on your face, Dr. Funk and his staff are the best option...you won't regret it!!

The office staff is very friendly and accommodating, I’ve never had an issue. I love the fact that Dr. Funk is very personable and cares about his patients. I noticed he doesn’t use a nursing staff therefore any procedure you have all your checkups are done with him, even if it’s as simple as removing stitches he’s right there to always be on top of your healing and progress. I had a rhinoplasty, septoplasty, and sinuplasty and during my recovery from anesthesia he came out and spoke to my family to reassure them I was okay and that everything went as planned. He called the next day after surgery to check on me. These small acts really are what makes him different than any other doctor I’ve dealt with. He is very active in your recovery. A year later and my nose is BEAUTIFUL! Overall the experience was great and I would recommend Dr. Funk to anyone!
