I chose Dr. B because he had the best reviews and they were right! He was super reassuring and confident that I would love my procedure, which was very comforting. He gave me his cell number and told me to call whenever I needed him. Even though his office was closed, he came in on New Years Eve Evening to take out my stitches because he wanted to make sure I was taken care of. The procedure came out even better than I thought it would. I am 100% happy and would highly recommend him!

I highly recommend this practice! I have experience as nurse in the OR arena and I have been impressed with Dr Barreras work. He is known for his hair transplants, but his other work is also amazing. His RN is very good at injectables. His office staff is very courteous and professional.

It is my pleasure to write this review for Dr. Alfonso Barerra, a plastic surgeon specializing in hair transplantation in Houston Texas. I am a plastic surgeon working in Northern Virginia. Several years ago I met Dr. Barerra in a course on hair transplantation in one of our national meetings. Dr. Barerra was one of instructors of the course. I immediately realized the level of expertise and knowledge that Dr. Barerra possessed. At that time I told myself if I ever wanted to have this procedure done on myself I would go to him. I finally decided to have this procedure done last year. As I expected, the entire experience was perfect. He has a fantastic team of nurses and technicians that work with him to make the entire operation painless and easy. I was awake for most of the procedure and was able to converse with Dr. Barerra while I was having the procedure. After the procedure I had a quick recovery. I did not take much time off and after 2 or 3 days was back to work. Dr. Barerra is a true gentleman and an outstanding surgeon. His artistic talent is evident in the results of the hair transplantation. It looks very natural. I myself am a very critical surgeon who does not accept any result short of perfect. I have been a patient of Dr Barrera for 23 years. I have had numerous cosmetic procedures done by Dr Barrera and have been pleased with all of them. Dr Barrera is a skilled and caring physician. In addition, his staff is efficient and polite and the best physician's staff that I have encountered.

Seems ethical and honest. Not sure why he has to charge as much as he does. Big plus is he did residency training after med school and does hair regulalry. He writes books for dermatogosts and plastic surgeon training also. I talked to dr puig but he is a DO and not and MD. Also, i was not impressed by dr arocha who seemed really full of himself and talked down his collegues but it must be insescurity because his resume is a spotty mess, for example he is over 60 andt started to do hair after years as a vein specialist. Also dr arocha is one of the few dr in houston to have done NO residency and just did 1year internship after medical school. Not sure why someone would want a vein doctor with no residency working on the head. Instead dr arocha doesnt make it clear that he trained with MHR group. he markets well so you will pay for that. Also, Look up MHR complaints.

Dr.Barrera came highly recommended by another surgeon who said Dr. Barrera did the BEST hair transplants, so with that recommendation I drove from Dallas to Houston to have my 'sideburns' replaced after a recent facelift. It is still early in the game but my hairline looks better than the one mother nature gave me!! Dr. Barrera was wonderful to work with, he explained each step and made sure I was comfortable at all times. I couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Barrera and his staff and would highly recommend him for any cosmetic procedure you are considering!

Looking for hair transplant I wanted an MD with plastic surgery or dermatology training but who also does a lot of transplants. This narrowed my list to Dr Alfonso or Dr rashid. I did consider a few other places but did not like them. I discovered the other doctor was original y trained in family medicine or vein medicine and thought he was a god talking down others. I knew something was up with them when I saw a 60yrold doc w 10 yr experience making me wonder what they did before. The research was worth it. I've learned dermatology and plastic surgery train you in hair from residency. I've seen Dr rashid and ddr afonsos work and I liked them. Do your research and consider these 2 at the top of your list.
