I just want to say how absolutely thankful I am for Doctor Richardson! Please ignore the awful review left by someone below. Dr. Richardson and her nurses are the sweetest people and Dr Richardson is very kind! The staff that work at the front office area are also very sweet and friendly! I started seeing her in June of 2018 (recommend by Dr Quan) for my acne problems. I've had issues with my acne since early middle school and had tried absolutely everything I could to get rid of my painful cystic acne. I even was so self conscious I would wear makeup every day. In just the 5 short months that I've been seeing her, my face has cleared completely of acne! Just an occasional pimple here and there: nothing painful. There is also still some red scaring left behind from the past which will go away in time. I no longer wear makeup daily, only for special occasions or when I feel like it! I feel so much more confident! Thank you so much Doctor Richardson!

First time visit. I was extremely pleased with all the staff and facilities. A dermatologist in another state recently did a biopsy on my ear and it came back positive. I contacted Dr. Quan and scheduled the procedure when I returned to Columbia. When I arrived he informed me that the cancerous spot was no longer there and that he did not feel it necessary to cut and "explore". He went on to say that the biopsy itself could have removed the cancer given it was caught very early. Regardless, he asked that I monitor it daily and also scheduled an appointment for me to return in 2 months. He spent a considerable amount of time with me and was even kind enough to not charge me for the visit. I highly recommend.

Dr. Richardson and her staff are just awful. Dr. Richardson doesn’t care, and it clearly shows in how she acts with you in the room. Her staff is just as stuck up and as rude as she is. It’s obvious why they all work together -same rude disposition. I went to see Dr Richardson because she was a younger female, and I felt I would feel comfortable with her. Wow, I was wrong. Dr Richardson is in the wrong field. She does not need to be a doctor with the lack of bedside manner and how short she is. I was obviously interrupting her from doing something better. Her medical staff need a serious attitude adjustment as well. They do not need to be working at this office. Everything else I experienced was pleasant and wonderful. Too bad they will lose customers to such a rude doctor who is very uninterested in helping people. Her face and attitude makes you feel like you’re bugging her.

I always thought my doctor was very friendly and nice, however, I had a horrible experience and will never go back. While I was pregnant, I had a suspicious mole on my leg that came back as non cancerous, but they insisted I get it removed. I questioned that because I was pregnant and thought it could be best to wait until after the baby, however they scared me into thinking it was necessary to do at that moment. Fast forward 3 months later, and my wound was still not healed well. I went in and they told me it was not infected but simply a stitch that was basically being rejected by my body, and all they had to do was remove it. So I okayed that and they removed the stitch. That night, the skin around the wound got red and it hurt to put any pressure on that leg to walk. It continued to get worse over the next few days, so I reached out to Carolinas Dermatology and sent a couple photos to them, to which they said it still looked fine. Keep in mind, I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time and now couldn't walk without being in pain. Next thing I know, they called me and told me they had biopsied my wound (without my knowledge or consent) and that it was a staph infection. Even though they informed me that it was not infected and looked fine... So using my best judgement I went to my primary care physician who was appalled that I had been told everything was okay, informed me that it was MRSA, and put me on super high dose oral and ointment antibiotics in hopes that they would work within 24 hours so I wouldn't have to go to the hospital. THANKFULLY, my primary care physician saved the day and I did not need to go to the hospital. And thankfully, my baby was okay during this whole issue. But to top all this off, they still made me pay even though I did not have an infection PRIOR to going to get the stitch removed, AND since they biopsied my wound WITHOUT my permission or consent, I was billed for that by their office and their lab of THEIR CHOOSING (which just so happens to NOT be covered by my insurance). So not only did I get pressured into getting an unnecessary procedure done, while pregnant, but ended up getting MRSA, while pregnant, and having to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket all because of them. Had they been more apologetic or had taken care of the bill, I wouldn't be writing this review, but I never even was told sorry let alone offered financial assistance.

Dr. Quan and his staff are wonderful. My husband needed Mohs Surgery and was quite anxious about the process since previous Mohs Surgery by another surgeon didn’t go too well. Dr Quan’s light hearted personality relieved some of his anxiety. Dr. Quan performed the surgery without any complications and my husband is home and recovering. I highly recommend him and his staff.

Had to have Mohs surgery and Dr. Kwan was fantastic, you can barely see the scar and no pain during the procedure. I normally go to Lauren Vargo there who I can’t say more great things about. She has been a godsend the past 3 years. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I brought my child in to see Dr Powell for a visit, and it was awful. Dr Powell was so rude to me and my child. I felt that we were disrupting her and that she had something better to do than help my child. When I tried to talk to her about my child’s issues, the reason for being there, she didn’t want to listen to me. It would be nice if she would have at least listened to my concerns. But she is too busy with getting us out of the room, than caring about us as a patient. Dr Powell has a “I am better than you attitude” and most certainly doesn’t care about patient care. I will be looking for another physician to see in that practice.

This place was honestly just not good. I have been here several times, spent hundreds of dollars (even though I have good insurance), and the problem still persists. Each time I have gone I have spent less than 5 minutes with a Dr/PA/Nurse and they have been inattentive and rather unfriendly. I have also had a lot of trouble contacting them. It usually takes three days for them to return a call even though their answering machine says they will call back in 24 hours and they often don't call back at all. This last time I called 2 weeks ago and I have still not received a response. Needless to say, I am done chasing them down and have an appointment with a new dermatologist who hopefully won't misdiagnose me multiple times.

I had minor surgery done here. The doctor answered all my questions, and she was very knowledgeable. The doctor and her nurse put me at ease, making me comfortable before the surgery. The doctor's room was nicely maintained. I love the kid's canvas art hanging on the walls. Everything came back normal for me.

I just had a squamous cell carcinoma removed from my finger by Dr Quan. I agree his humor and bedside manner sure helped during my dread and anxiety. My procedure was two months ago and my finger is now completely healed. I thought my finger would never be the same. This is the second surgery he’s done on me. Five years ago he removed a basil cell from the side of my nose which included a skin graft. He did such a great job you can’t tell it’s ever happened! Dr Quan, Lauren Vargo, Carolina Dermatology you are the best!!!

I got an appointment within three weeks. Clean, calm lobby. Staff was very courteous. Dr Quan performed a Mohs surgery on my nose for a basil cell carcinoma. He did a skin graft. I was afraid of how it would look. They took the stitches out today and it looked so much better than I thought it would. The best thing about the Mohs surgery is they get all the cancer for sure. Dr Quan did a great job.

Dr. Quan is amazing. He did a Mohs procedure on my cheek a couple of years ago and it was more extensive than I expected. As a former biology major, I was interested in the process and asked to see it before he closed it. At the time I was sorry I asked. I was dismayed by the hole in my cheek, but later I was glad I could see the transformation created by Dr. Quan. Within a few weeks, the scar was barely visible. By the end of a year, I would defy anyone to find the 4-inch scar! It also amazed me that I felt no pain at any time. The entire medical staff was wonderful. Professional and caring, they made sure I understood every step of the procedure and caring for the incision. I can’t say enough good things about them all!

I had Moh's surgery the first of April 2019. Since the surgery was on the side of my nose, I requested a consultation with Dr.Quan before the surgery. The office staff readily scheduled one for me. During the consultation, Dr. Quan was professional and kind and friendly. He took the time to answer all of my questions and explain the procedure even though his day was busy with surgeries. The day of the surgery went well. He explained everything he was going to do to remove the skin cancer. He went in twice. There was no pain during the surgery and minimal pain afterwards. He decided to leave the wound open instead of using stitches or a skin graph and told me how to care for it as it healed. The wound healed from the inside out and the hole in my nose filled in. After a month I went in for a follow up and was told I no longer needed to apply vaseline or wear a bandage. When I went back on June 4th he released me. All I have from the surgery is a spot of skin that is pinker than the rest of my face but in time it should slowly lose the pinkness. I don't believe I will have a scar since now the area is smooth and even with the skin on the rest of my face. Dr.Quan is honestly concerned about his patients and their appearance after surgery. He is skillful in his surgical techniques. He could have easily done a skin graft instead of leaving the wound open. This would have cost more but the possibility of scarring in my case would have been greater. He chose what was best for me! As a side note when I had surgery in the past (appendix removed) I was left with a terrible keloid (raised, thick) scar. This was what I thought might happen with my nose surgery, but it didn't. I truly believe that this was due to the skill and good judgment of Dr. Quan. I would recommend him to anyone that needs Moh's surgery! Wish I could post pictures......

The doctors & nurses are full of knowledge on all products & services & deliver amazing results every time, wether it be botox or chemical peels ! In spite of some of the reviews, I was referred to this location by my primary care physician for face/skin acne. I will say meeting with Dr. K. Powell was a pleasure. She is a new doctor there and one her personality and professionalism was very honest. She was very clear and concise and was straightforward with answering the questions I had about dealing with ethnic skin. I didn't feel rush, she thoroughly answered my questions and went over the procedures of what we would do to combat my oil skin and scaring from acne bumps as well as addressing concerns with hair (goatee/beard) on my face and how hairs tend to curl back into the skin causing horrible razor bumps and acne. She was very knowledgeable and I appreciate that so much. The nurse that was working with her Ruth, was a pleasure as well. She answer questions I had, she had an awesome personality, and was very professional as well. I can not speak for the other staff there but I will definitely only schedule to see these two. Indeed the reception area staff could use a little more customer service personality training but they were no were near as bad as I've seen the reviews on. Oh yea I was in and out as well. I did not have to wait long after signing in my appointment. Overall great service!

I have been attempting to make an appointment for my daughters for several months now. The phone staff is very rude and unaccommodating. I’d really like to see one of the physicians there but getting past the obnoxious phone staff is a challenge. Gives the impression that they don’t want to see new patients. If that’s the case just say you’re not accepting new patients.

I went in for an ankle wound and severe rash that a couple other doctors didn't diagnose properly. C.D. was courteous, professional, and properly diagnosed me. She educated me on proper care of my situation and actually tested me (many doctors simply guess) for infection. Months later my wound is healed and I'm much better.
