Had an extraction and then went through the dental implant process with East Bay Oral Surgery. I've been several times and have always had a good experience. Doctor is careful to explain everything and the staff is super accommodating.

So I called for a wisdom teeth consult. The day of the consult, an hour before I leave for the appointment, they called to reschedule. I told them I work 60 hours a week and that day was the only day I could do it. Never mind I waited a month for this appointment. So they rescheduled me at 4. I went and waited at least an hour and half just to get X-rays. They gave me my appointment for my surgery. The day of my surgery I got there a half hour early. An hour later they took someone who came in after me. I asked how long it was going to take and they couldn't tell me. My appointment was at 10, I got there at 930, I didn't get taken in until noon. Never mind the doctor left to take a phone call as soon as he got into my room. When he came back, he missed my vein 2 times and finally got it on the third time. They took all four wisdom teeth out. When I woke up I went to the recovery room. They didn't really go over anything with me, they checked on me once and discharged me. They told me I was going to get a stronger medication and they only gave me ibuprofen and Tylenol. Considering I got all four out, you'd figure they'd give me something stronger. When we called back to see why, they couldn't even make sense on why they gave me that and acted like we were stupid.With waiting over four ours in two appointments is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't come there if it was my last choice.

"On time excellent service and personnel" Although no one can foresee people that come in for emergency work ( and tooth pain is the epitome of this) to where the doctor has to address it immediately...mine was just that and the doctor and staff bent over backward to accommodate me. This happened on 3 occasions and the staff was very professional and kind, as was Dr Bakios. The post op instructions were clear and thorough and I especially appreciated the follow up phone call several hours later. Any other direct appointment I had with this office was always pretty much on time. Any medical facility that cares about what people think gets a plus in my book.

Due to an issue with one of my teeth I was having splitting headaches, my local dentist recommended and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Bakios immediately they were able to see me that day. I was informed there might be a long wait because it was a rushed appointment but I was thankful to even get an appointment. The pain was anguishing. The wait was well worth it. The procedure was fluid and flawless. I highly recommend. *****

I am very satisfied with the care I received at this office today. I called 3 days ago and they squeezed me in for an appt today, so I completely understood the reason for longer wait. As someone who has not had any previous dental issues or concerns, I was very nervous and anxious. The team at this office were so kind, patient & reassuring with all my concerns & needs! I am very thankful for their help in making today’s procedure a little easier for me to deal with..... and then, at 5 pm, I get a call from their office to check in and see how I’m feeling! Highly recommended! Thank you all for doing what you do!!

I have literally never written a single review of anything before this. I had a broken #15 molar. My family dentist gave referal for an extraction. I was in substantial pain. After calling another surgeon with a 9 day wait, the sweetest and most empathetic receptionist here Patty worked to get me in the same afternoon. I waited 45 minutes. The doctor and his assistant were both incredible, making meaningful conversation while expressing genuine interest in my life before the extraction. The facility is not the nicest, and the procedure was rather gruesome. However... all tooth extractions are as such. I elected to stay awake for the procedure. There is no gentle or pleasant way to extract a tooth. Two assistants ended up helping the doctor. He got it done with zero complications. After the procedure, multiple employees (a couple not even involved with the surgery) popped in to check on me and ask if I was alright. To those people who have complained about wait times at this location, I very much apologize for your incovenience. Today, it was much in part due to me. I literally pray for you that you never experience severe tooth pain. It is literally one of the worst and most utterly dehabilitaing pains on earth. Dr. Bakios is compassionate enough to consider this, and works very hard to help as many people needing emergency treatment as possible. This is clearly stated on signage as soon as you enter the office. Again... I am sorry for those who have been inconvenienced. Please consider not every surgery has been anticipated or scheduled weeks in advance. Dr. Bakios is one of the very few surgeons who is willing to take a hit on his Google and Yelp ratings to actually help people at a moments notice in genuine need. Anyone unwilling to be understanding of this can proudly call themselves a very selfish and inconsiderate person, lacking compassion for those in their time of severe suffering. These are the most polite terms I can describe you in. In person... I would never be so politically correct. Though I hope to never find myself in this situation again, there is undoubtedy no place else I would ever go. Dr. Bakios gets the job done, and his staff is first rate. When emergency oral surgery is required, one would be wise to trust the experience and skills of Dr. Bakios and his staff at East Bay Oral Surgery.

My mother went in for a major procedure and paid everything out of her pocket. They gave her a SET PRICE, which she paid In full the day of her surgery. As soon as her surgery was over they charged surprised fees for things that were supposed to be included. They did terrible stitching to the gums and complete lack of care to the patient . Spanish speaking patients also don’t seem to be welcomed here. AVOID THIS PLACE !

Great time! No,seriously. I was scared,never had a tooth pulled etc. Needed it done because I was in pain. The staff was awesome The Surgeon,even better. I feel 100% . bye bye tooth!! Here is a picture because who doesn't love seeing a wisdom tooth! Yes they let me keep it!! A++++

My son had an extraction earlier in the week and woke up today with an infection, which could happen anywhere. The issue is how this office handles scheduling. The day of his procedure, we waited over an hour before they brought him back, made him sit waiting for another 30 minutes, then performed his procedure. Today, they made his appointment for 2pm, bring him back immediately so he can sit for over an hour, after which we find out the Doctor isn't even HERE. Why bring him back, so you can bill for the visit if decides not to continue waiting? Not cool.

I had an appointment to have a tooth extracted by another doctor but 2 weeks before the appointment, the tooth abscessed. I called my doctor and found they had just left for vacation and Dr. Bakios was covering. I called the office and they fit me in the next day. The staff was very understanding and friendly. For the record, I was sweating bullets, I was very nervous about having this done. The could not have been any nicer, or more accommodating. I was in and out in about an hour. Understanding that an emergency would have messed up the schedule, I would have been ok with that if it happened. I have been in emergency situations with my kids and trust me, when its your kid that is bleeding, you are very thankful that the doctor sees them first! Thank you again Dr. Bakios, I would recommend your office to anyone!

The best Dentist ever! This was my second time that Dr. Stephen N. Bakios extract a tooth. I have no complaint. The One of the best oral surgeon in RI. Staff is super nice. Didn't feel no pain at all. If you need anything done to your teeth this is the place to go. You wont regret it! Also, I have insurance that they didn't accept. But i was willing to pay someone that I trust. Simply the best!! Thank you Dr. Bakios!

Had a fractured tooth removed, worst experience of my life. Never mind the extremely long wait time the Dr has no bedside manor. Does not take the time to explain anything and makes it feel like he's just trying to get through as many patients as possible. After surgery (which I was sedated) was not given any post op instructions. Had complications several days after and returned for follow up only to be traumatized. Was not told what was going to be done then having a needle stuck into the incision without any topical numbing agent. Imagine the shock! I would not go back here if my life depended on it.

This is the place! I had such pain and discomfort from a broken tooth. They were able to get me in, managed my anxiety professionally and understood my fears. The doctor was amazing with communication and made sure I was comfortable. The office staff were friendly and attentive.

I had my wisdom teeth out yesterday with Dr Bentjen and I could not have asked for a better experience! I was expecting to be in a lot of pain but I have almost no pain just some slight discomfort. She is amazing and I will definitely recommend her to anyone who needs to get their wisdom teeth out!

I brought my 11 year old daughter in for surgery. She had an impacted tooth and it needed to be brought down for her orthodontists. The Doctor was caring and had excellent bedside manner. The girls at the desk explained my insurance and were very helpful. The assistants had my daughter laughing by the end of the visit. Would highly recommend..

They want us in 30 minutes before the appointment.....its now been 90 minutes and we are still in the waiting room as I am writing this. The reception window is frosted so you can't see in and closed. Not even the common courtesy to tell us what's going on. Piss poor....go elsewhere.

I got my wisdom teeth removed and immediately after waking up from surgery they brought me to a small "recovery" room where they immediately handed me a tablet asking for my review. Mind you, I had just woken up from surgery still heavily drugged so I feel my review was incorrect, having given them 5 stars I feel they do not deserve. Before the procedure they brought me into the room and had me sit in the chair where I had to wait at least 30 minutes for someone to come back in. After they put the IV in me I had to wait another 15 minutes for the doctor to finally come in. No one told me when they started the anesthesia and no one had me count down to prepare me. Everyone was kind but I didn't feel they were very prepared. My mouth and lips were very scratched up and swollen after the procedure, there was also blood on my pants. I know the swelling is normal but I feel they were very rough. I would only recommend this surgeon because they accepted my health insurance for the procedure.

I made an appointment at east bay oral surgery and called back a couple days later to inquire more information about the procedure. The receptionist could not have been less helpful. The last thing I need when I am concerned about an expensive procedure is attitude from the business that is collected the money. Needless to say I canceled my appointment and found an oral surgeon that was more than willing to look up the cost and other information about the procedure for me.
