I had an amazing experience with Dr.Erdmann and am really happy about my results.i can say am very smart for choosing him because he's really good at what he does, he takes a really good care of his patients and he answers every questions with brief explanation.i trust him with my life and I'll definitely recommend him for anyone.

I went to visit Dr.Detlev Erdmann at Duke Hospital in Durham with a very severe and complicated injury to my finger. It was so bad that I was sure that I would lose the finger. He is very Experienced in Tramua Surgery and knew immediately how to proceed. He operated on my Hand immediately and did a Amazing job of saving my finger and really went above and beyond to explain everything to me and take care of everything including aftercare and physical therapy. I would recommend this Wonderful Surgeon to Friends, Family and Everyone who is looking for a Outstanding Doctor.

I was quite pleased with my results for the last five years I had a stage four decubitus ulcer (bedsore) around the sacrum area. It seemed nearly impossible to fix however Dr.Erdmann and his surgical skills was able to fix it with a bilateral flap thanks Dr. Erdmann I wish I could post before and after pictures

We sought out Dr. Erdmann regarding a procedure on our teenage child for a condition that had both physical and non-physical considerations. Dr. Erdmann showed both empathy and diagnostic expertise as he assessed the situation and presented us with options. The experience was professional, warm and executed according to plan. Dr. Erdmann was a terrific communicator in that he was brief and to the point, articulated the items that needed to be considered for each decision, answered all of our questions, walked us through the process so there were no surprises and was easily accessible via personal cell phone/text. He came to the hospital in his off hours to check on us and was highly engaged and interactive in the follow up visits. He was also a strong patient advocate when he felt other medical professionals/admin staff were not as engaged as they needed to be for our experience to be positive and effective. Dr. Erdmann is amazing, caring and compassionate. After being involved in a serious motor vehicle accident in the fall of 2016, I required several surgeries. Dr. Erdmann performed my 16th surgery for abdominal reconstruction. The day after surgery, he called the ICU on a Saturday, to let me know that he was out of town, but he was keeping apprised of my condition. He made several visits personally once I was moved to the step-down unit. This man is truly the best and I would not go anywhere else for my care.

Erdmann is an egotistical may who is very impressed with himself, and is only interested in building his portfolio of "great successes". This man should never be allowed to interact with the public, because he is rude, and has no compassion for the person sitting in front of him. If he feels you are wasting his time, which he probably feels most people do, you will pay the price.

After 7 surgeries, he performed the last 3 surgeries after a bone flap was removed due to infection. 2 surgeries, he installed tissue expanders to stretch out the skin on my head so he could repair my skull with cranioplasty. After the final surgery with the cranioplasty, he told me that I was one of the hardest and most difficult surgeries in his career. When I first met him, I thought he seemed to look at me the same way a mechanic sees another car on the shop floor.
