I’m a patient there since 2000.About 5 weeks ago I had breast reduction and breast lift. What a fast recovery!! I was able to go back to work after 4days of my surgery. I had terrible pain on my back and shoulder (because of weight on my breast) now all the pains are gone. The shape just came out beautiful Dr.Kwan did such a amazing job. He called and checked on me how I was doing after 2days the surgery. (I was so impressed) also I’m so pleased about their staffs. 10 years ago my previous surgeon did extremely poorly on my face lift. She blamed my skin for not being able to do an adequate job. I decided to reach out to Dr. Kwan to help fix this problem and I am glad I did. I got my face back ❤️! He treats his patience with kindness and respect. He used all his power to make sure I was satisfied with the result. The surgery itself went incredibly smoothly. Dr. Kwan's technique allows for a completely pain free recovery, without medication!! His anesthesiologist is just as accommodating. Normally I feel sick when I wake up, but I genuinely felt good. I will be coming back to New York from now on for all my surgeries.

My husband and I went to Dr. Kwan to remove the bagginess under our eyes. With Dr. Kwan's further recommendation, my husband agreed to have cosmetic work done on the upper eyelid as well. The results were terrible. For my husband, the upper eyelid treatment left him with one eye appearing bigger than the other. And for both of us, he barely removed the bagginess - there was little improvement. In addition, I was left with scars above and under my eyes. We were frustrated and booked a follow-up meeting via his secretary to discuss the problematic results. When I arrived at his office, he denied to talk to me, instead call the police, throwed me out. So, we proceeded to bring this issue to court. And we lost the litigation because malpractice sue depend on wrongdoing of medical procedure not on bad outcomes. He was the only one to explaine the procedure of surgeries what he did, of course, he said everything was right. My husband now has to live with differently sized eyes - he has to wear sunglass even indoors. And the area underneath out eyes look awful. We are the victims of Dr. Kwon. It was a nightmare!!!!

I am a regular patient of Dr. Kwan; have had a major surgery done with him last year and have been seeing him for various consultant and treatments. I went to Dr. Kwan today for a juvederm filler. Even it is just a small procedure, Dr. Kwan spent a fair amount of time on me, very patient to listen to my needs, and give advices. The area of treatment is very tricky (between eyebrows) with lots of blood vein and nerves, and requires high precision. He managed it so well, and after injection, he used ice pack and hold pressure on it to shape it. The outcome was perfect, looks very smooth and natural, exactly what I wanted. Based on my several years experience with Dr. Kwan, I highly trust and am confident in having procedures with him, whether it is big surgery or just a small filler. He indeed has the knowledge, experience and practical skill in what he does; to help patients bring out their beauty. Dr. Kwan is also very patient and kind, he treats each patient personally, and pursues perfection in every procedure he performed. Also I find his price quite fair and competitive, for someone with that level of skills and office equipment. Trustworthy, skillful, kind. Always delightful experience when I visit his office.

Horrible Rhinoplasty Experience and Deception with Dr. Edmund Kwan. Deeply Regret Ever Going to This Surgeon. BAD, INCOMPLETE WORK I love all the fake reviews talking about how clean his office is, from people who clearly don't speak English as a first language. Probably his staff and his wife. PLEASE. I had a HORRIBLE rhinoplasty experience with Dr. Kwan. HE DOESN'T OPERATE ON THE WHOLE NOSE, ONLY THE TIP OR BRIDGE. And he won't tell you about it or put what's going to happen in any of the forms you sign before surgery - not after the consult, not after you make a down payment. I was alone, w/out my husband at the 1st consult. Dr. Kwan was very aggressive, and so rude, boasting about his prowess, cutting me off every time I started to ask questions, but while smiling. It's supposed to put you at ease when those red flags start rising. At one point he said something medically inaccurate when I asked him a health/breathing question. I should have walked out then. But again I was desperate. I ignored the alarm bells. A lot of surgeons are are rude but confident (no - arrogant). I tried to push those misgivings away. Rebecca, his assistant, grunted and behaved the save way, writing about the cost of RHINOPLASTY on a sheet of blank printer paper, with a pen. How unprofessional. No official fee list. THAT'S INTENTIONAL. I was stupid and assumed Dr. Kwan would do the WHOLE NOSE. I had to give a huge down payment even to book a date. You don't GET that back once you commit. So even if you wise up and try to pull out of the surgery, they get thousands of dollars. That's how they afford their offices and rents in high priced places. The morning of surgery was horrible. They were handing me forms they should have given me weeks in advance (and even then, there's no guarantee what you get before surgery will be what they give you after - offices can doctor documents), but not a SINGLE ONE telling me what Rebecca should have: THAT HE WOULDN'T BE DOING A FULL RHINOPLASTY. There was no aftercare or bedside manner whatsoever. He was incredibly violent removing the stitches after surgery, and I went to him for consults afterward to ask if he would be willing to do anything else I had asked; not only would he attend to other patients during that time, walking in and out, cutting me off, barking at me, but for the last one, he just walked out midsentence. I talked about my breathing problems and he said "I'm just a cosmetic surgeon, stop bothering me, I'm not responsible for that." HE SURE DIDN'T TALK THAT WAY IN THE FIRST CONSULT. So just to clarify - when you pay this office the fee for rhino, you can go on all you want about how you want your nose to look. He will do ONE THING you ask for, bridge, tip or nostrils, and you will not get a form describing it until you're literally being handed drugs to knock you out. You are misled into a half surgery. A poor, health-threatening half surgery, with someone you don't want wielding knives at your face or taking care of you - he has no compassion or professionalism as a doctor. Zilch. Finally, the crowning achievement of my relationship with Dr. Kwan, my nose is much uglier and less functional than when I walked in. If I had just read reviews of him on other sites like yelp,ratemds,etc, I could have avoided this. The reviews I read for every single procedure he bills himself for had horrible reviews with unhappy patients - one of them described him digging his finger into the scar of a mole he removed, and it reminded me of how he used to jab my face and manhandle my nose to talk about how ugly it was, and how he'd make it pretty. Who wants someone that treats their patients that way wielding a knife at them? I don't know if Rebecca is still there but you can bet I have some ideas about who is actually writing reviews on this site. Stay away from this office and stay away from Dr. Edmund Kwan in his offices in New York, Queens, and Fort Lee. Stay away from him. Don't be misled by the cheap price tag. It's a trap. Life-changing, bankrupting, horrible experience.

Dr Kwan’s care and bed side manners are excellent. He listens to your issues and recommends the best results. The nurse and office manager along with the rest of the staff are sweet and caring. They always take your call and answer any question you may have. Doctor Kwan is an expert in what he does and I'm totally happy with my results. I have referred friends and they have referred some of their friends and we are all beyond grateful and satisfied.

For my breasts implant job during my transition from a male to female, I was crying inside my hotel 1 week after June 09, 2015, after he successfully completed his job...my twins look more beautiful and sexier than a genetic lady's ones...it was just after 3 months I had started taking hormones while other doctors refused to conduct the surgery for me in California as they demanded me to come back after 2 years of hormone therapy. 2 years and 3 months later, I came back to NYC to meet Dr. Kwan to have my nose job. My surgery date was on October 5, 2017, which was 2 days after the free consultation. I used to have a broad and big nostrils due to big bone on my nose...he consulted me exactly what I wanted to hear because I knew my nose was pretty much noticeable before I came to visit him. Again his magic hands helped my nose looks completely natural feminized after it was reconstructed by shaving my nose bones and bump, trimming and narrowing the nostrils parts. The date I came to see Dr. Kwan in order to have stitches removed, I was so much happy to see the great result from Dr. Kwan's talent. I had jawbones and cheekbones reduction with Dr. Edmund Kwan about 2 months ago. He has absolutely done an amazing job, the operation was very successful. I did a lot of research before going into his office, and I was pretty scared of the cases that I read online of people who got their face or nerves damaged. However, I was no longer scared after the consultation with Dr. Kwan because of his confidence, and he knew what he was doing. For Dr. Kwan’s office, everything was clean, professional and well-organised. Other staff are nice, and professional, too. Overall, I’m happy with everything, and I definitely recommend Dr. Edmund Kwan.

I went to Dr. Kwan to remove several basal-cell carcinoma lesions; one was 2 inches in diameter and deep in my back and two smaller ones. Dr. Kwan explained the procedure. He was going to take skin from my groin area to graft the large lesion on my back. The following week l arrived at his exquisite private office on 5th avenue across from the Met. Discreetly, the front door is on 5th Ave and is a quick entry/exit to the street. Upon entering his elegant office, l met Dr. Kwan’s kind and gracious staff that made me feel at home. Classical music in the state of the art operating room soothed my nerves and l was very peaceful leading into the surgery. It has been two weeks and my recovery has truly been amazing. The first two days l was in pain but it was manageable. Within two days l was feeling great and back to work. Dr. Kwan and Rebecca check in on me during the first week and six days later l went to the Fort Lee office to confirm that the skin graft took 100%. I am now cancer free and my scars are healing beautifully. Thank you Dr. Kwan. Your expertise, perfection and vision transformed me. After months of research, Dr. Kwan came highly recommended to me as one of the best and most well known plastic surgeons in the community. I was invovled in an automobile accident last May, 2013. Unfortunately I slammed my face on the steering wheel causing serious damage to my nose. The outcome from the emergency room left me with 5 stitches on the bridge of my nose, and the tip of my nose was missing due to the severe impact of the accident. I could not believe the damage, it made it difficult look in the mirror at myself. After seeing the specialist and getting my stitches removed, I was told that I would have to wait until my nose was fully healed before I could even think about plastic surgery. Around late Septemeber early October, I began my search for a top grade surgeon to reconstruct my nose. After numerous reviews I came upon Dr. Kwan's Site, I was impressed. His site was professional and informative, it also listed his educational background, credentials, along with accomplishments and affliations. So after reviewing all the information on his site, I called and scheduled an appointment to visit Dr. Kwan so he could assess my nose. Upon arriving to the office, I was immediately impressed with the facility, service, and profesionalism of his staff. Dr. Kwan met with me and examined my nose and in detail, he explained the approach he would take in order to get my nose like brand new again.On the day of my surgery, I was met by Dr Kwan, who performed the surgery, himself. His Anestigeologist was very informative and professional as well. The outcome of Phase 1 was a success. In addition to that, the staff even called my medication into the pharmacy that way it would be ready as soon as I left the office. My nose is 98% back to normal, I now look forward to Phase 2 to be completed. I wish I could give ZERO review! This person who is name Edmund Kwan is a Evil! I had very beautiful eyes in my mind, I decided to have upper eye lid lift surgery to enhance my look and appear younger. But clearly I received eye fold surgery instead of eye lift surgery, if the result is OK, I wouldn't need to complain but the quality of the surgery was horrible! This poorly skilled person performed the eye fold surgery instead of eye lift, the cut is not even and smooth, it goes up and down, and resulted in me not having a natural fold now. The skin was stitched very roughly where he cut under my original eye fold causing uncomfortable tightness and has not healed smoothly even more than a year later. This wrong surgery caused visually smaller eyes as result, much more hollow than before, wider distance between eye and eyebrow, big scars, and I cannot close my eyes properly. The whole result came out exactly opposite of the younger look I was wanting, especially the hollow made me much order looking than my real age. I also believed that I was mistreated during the surgery! I was woken up by the anesthesiologist during the surgery and was told I was screaming, all I remember is that I had a nightmare with painfulness and tightness in the dream and I couldn't run. I told them and apologized. As I was regaining consciousness, I witnessed Edmund Kwan was finishing up, although I apologized about my screaming again and again, but he was visually furious, his face was twisted, his actions were like so ready to hurt someone, he was stitching my skin like stitching 2 pieces of metal together, very dramatic, a couple time I could feel the needle hit the bone under the eyebrow. By that time, I was so helpless, kept praying inside my heart let me get through this as soon as possible! On the way home I felt very painful on my left side of face, my husband told me there had a big bruise on my cheek and neck area, which did not exist before I entered surgery, I am assuming that was why I was screaming during the surgery. Very poor customer service, All they care about is the money! Because of my bad results, I voiced my displeasure, and required some explanation about my surgery face to face, but they wouldn't allow me into the office, instead calling the police. I just wanted a few minutes to talk to the doctor and although they told the police they would see me on my follow up appointment they then cancelled my follow up appointment. During the last year, I have lost most of my friends as I was so embarrassed to meet them with such poor plastic surgery results. I was very depressed for several months, even now I still have to wear glasses or extra makeup if I have to face people closely so I can hide scars around my eyes. When people asked who is older between me and husband I feel hurt as my husband is few years older than me. I used to be proud of my young look and beautiful eyes, people always thought I looked at least ten years younger than my real age. I decided to do the eye procedure to enhance my beauty and after the consultation Dr. Kwan seemed to fully understand what I wanted and assured me he would provide the results I was looking for but Dr. Edmund Kwan totally ruined it! There is clearly no upper eye lid lifting, the surgery was just cut and stitched, and now I even don't have my eye fold anymore. My whole experience with Dr. Kwan and his office was horrible! I respected him, trusted his promise and paid big money, all I got was crazy horrendous treatment, and I still don't know why. As a patient I have no chance to win the civil law suit since the court asked for another doctor's testimony and none of the doctors I spoke with were willing to do so. He is a sociopath in my eyes with no conscience to hurt his patient!

Dr Kwan and his staff were very professional and at the same time, caring and extremely competent. This was my first cosmetic surgery experience (eyelids - blepharoplasty and ptosis correction) and I would definitely go back to Dr. Kwan for any future consultation and surgery. His office interior says it all - his meticulousness, attention to detail, along with his appreciation for art translates to his work. I felt very confident in his ability to perform only the best surgery. I am a West Coast resident and I would have no hesitation to recommend Dr. Kwan to anyone - regardless of geography. Last note to plastic surgery newbies like me- give things time to fully heal ! At first, I saw asynmetry and was advised to give it at least 3 months. It’s been 2 months now and my eyes look amazing! It's very upsetting that I went to Dr Kwan for a jaw reduction to remove muscle from my face in hopes it would help my teeth grinding. I know that Dr Kwan is not a dental surgeon but he is did assure me that it would work. Not only do I still grind my teeth, I was left with scarring around my mouth and was told by Dr Kwan that it was a bruise. Seven months after my procedure and I have brown spot on my lip that I couldn't even cover up. I had to go to another plastic surgeon and paid $450 to have it removed and they laughed when I told them he said it was a bruise. I did everything Dr Kwan said I waited the amount of time he told me to wait to see if it would go away and I didn't ..very disappointing. Dr Kwan should have removed the scar for free because I left there with something I didn't come with. I now found a wonderful surgeon who is much closer anyway. Dr kwan ruined my face and 2 years later I’m still suffering. I now need an implant to fix his damage. I have pictures upon request of the damage he did. Do not use him!

FAKE REVIEWS ON HERE BY HIS STAFF!!!! I had eyelid surgery with Dr. Kwan in 2009. It still is uneven and looks horrible. And I still don’t have the time or money to fix it. When I told him it was uneven at post ops he kept bringing out his measuring claw and saying they’re even in size. As a plastic surgeon.. doesn’t he know most faces aren’t exactly symmetrical?? HE DOESNT LISTEN TO HIS PATIENTS. HE DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE SCREW UPS AFTER SURGERY. Go to another doctor to get your eyes done. I’ve read other review on here on eyes and they’re saying the same thing!!!!

Dr. Kwan is by far the most talented surgeon I have EVER crossed paths with. I came to Dr. Kwan after an under eye fat transplant, performed 'by another' plastic surgeon, which deformed my face. It was only until I was under Dr.Kwan's care that the deformity was corrected. Dr. Kwan literally gave me back my beauty. This was a priceless feeling. Dr. Kwan is an amazing doctor, and he changed my life. He fixed my horrible nose which was done by Dr. Edward S. kwak. The story began when I went to Dr. Edward S. Kwak because he has good reviews online, he recommended using rib cartilage instead of silicon on the nose bridge which is fine, but he really did me wrong. I'm crying. The implant is literally crooked and stick into left side of my nose, the implant itself is warped and has those hump on it, that's why my nose has a bump. And it is stiff and fake if you touch it, you can just feel the implant on your nose, There is no way you can look good and nature with that shape of implant in your nose. And what's even worse is I paid five figures for that? So I went to Dr. Kwan and really hope that he can fix it. And he really did! I'm so happy right now but what you guys don't know is I was literally crying every single day before dr. Kwan saved my nose. It looks nature and feminine right now, the height is the perfect height that I want, and the tip is slim and pointy. and it's only been one week after the surgery. Dr. Kwan is really experienced and know what he is doing. He knows what's the best for you and he makes you look prettier without anyone notice that you had a surgery done. The looks just so nature and no one tells I did anything, but everyone said I'm definitely a lot prettier. Plus he made my recovery time very easy, barely had any pain. My nose looks immediately good only a few days after the surgery. Highly recommend Dr. Kwan, I'm so lucky that I met him!

Dr. Kwan performed a breast augmentation on me in April 2009. To this day, I love my breasts. He also performed liposuction of my abdomen, flanks, arms, back, and thighs. The results of the surgery were noticeable. He removed 8 pounds of fat from my body. I gained some weight and he agreed to redo the liposuction two additional times for a very low price. It was my fault for gaining the weight, but he corrected it. I would recommend Dr. Kwan for breast surgery or liposuction.
