What an easy, painless and fast way to get a more rested and youthful look to my under eyes. I first went to him with concerns of my under eye area, which he filled beautifully and naturally, and without any bruising or swelling whatsoever. I also spoke to him about my insecurity regarding the fact that one eyebrow is naturally lower than the other, and of course he had a perfect solution to place just a bit of Botox in a particular place to help even both sides out; and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Just recently I went to him for filler in my cheekbone as well as a touch-up under my eyes and all I can say is wow, I am just blown away with how natural and great it looks! I received Botox for wrinkles around my eyes. About 10 days later, I received an email from dr kotlus asking me if I was happy with the results. I told him I was very disappointed with the left eye in which a very prominent, deep wrinkle appeared under my eye. He told me to email him a week later to see if there was improvement. I informed him a week later to say that there was no improvement. His answer was to go get laser somewhere else and the Botox will wear off in 4 months. I sent him another email asking him if anhyting further could be done by him and he never wrote back. I was shocked since he had received some many positive reviews. I know now to not always trust what you read.

The first time I met with Dr. Kotlus for a consult, I felt so comfortable with him that I asked him to do the procedure we discussed that very day. He answered all of my questions, was very patient, and explained exactly what he was going to do to lift my sagging brows. It was the first time I had ever injected anything into my face. I was a little nervous about using Botox, but aside from a small bruise that went away in a couple of days, I was very pleased with the result. I have come back since for Restylane filler for my checks, and again, have been very happy with my improved appearance. Everything looks completely natural but better, exacy what I wanted. Dr Kotlus is very gentle and has an artistic hand! He did under eye injections today and i have no bruising it looks great hopefully after the swelling goes down it will still look as good. He made sure both eyes were even also. Update: I just saw this post after a year the injection of Hylauronic Acid lasted 8 months and looked great. Cannot wait to go back to Dr Kotlus!

This review is long overdue. It’s been one year since my lower blepharoplasty. (lower eyelid surgery) I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for Dr. Brett Kotlus. I’ve spent several years researching for the right oculoplastic surgeon. Thankfully, I came across Dr. Kotlus. He is hands down the best in New York City. Dr. Kotlus is very knowledgeable, skilled, well-versed, and professional in his field. His honesty, attentiveness, and caring demeanor instantly put me at ease. From my initial consultation to post op, everything went smoothly. His team is outstanding and courteous. Special thanks to Stephanie who made scheduling a breeze. His anesthesiologist, who personally called me to review my medical history and explain the dos and don’ts before my surgery. Lastly, the sweetest nurse I had. I’m so happy I trusted Dr. Kotlus to perform my lower blepharoplasty. 1 year later, my results was better than I ever imagined. He exceeded my expectations. I finally don’t have bags under my eyes! I saw Dr. Kotlus for a consultation for my eye bags. Dr. Kotlus seemed very kind and took time to explain what he thought might and might not work for me. He said that I wouldn't achieve a full improvement with injections, but that it would help somewhat. I went ahead that day and received Restalyne injections in the tear trough area. The first few days, my undereyes were a bit swollen which actually smoothed everything out nicely, which I liked. Eventually, the swelling subsided and my bags returned with hardly any improvement, along with a grayish color underneath the skin from the filler. There also appears to be a difference in symmetry between the two sides, although that may have more to do with my anatomy than the technique. So, I will not be getting injections again since they do not work for me, but I in no way fault the doctor.

He thoughtfully explained the reason it happened, and gave me a plan to dissolve and reassess any additional treatment to that area. My experience with Dr. Kotlus was everything I hoped for based on all the research I did prior to choosing him as my doctor for tear trough correction and minor Botox. He was attentive, courteous, professional, and took time to ask me about my profession before we discussed my areas of concern. He went over a detailed treatment plan with various options for me to consider before expertly administering the actual treatment. There was minimal discomfort, and he went over post-care procedures afterwards. He takes a wisely conservative approach to treatment - so far I am very happy with the results, and will wait two weeks before deciding whether to seek any additional correction. I cannot recommend Dr. Kotlus highly enough, and look forward to continuing as a patient of his in the months and years ahead.

I experienced an entropion (inverted eyelid) in July. The condition came on suddenly, and made driving and general day-to-day life impossible. Dr. Kotlus was willing to see me within 24 hours, worked with his staff to short-cut the insurance bureaucracy, operated on me several days later, and spared me from the weeks of discomfort it would have taken to be seen and treated by another specialist. My surgery was performed under local anesthesia, and my relief was immediate. Dr. Kotlus's "beside mannerisms" were exemplary, in terms of preparing me for the surgery, talking me through the operation (during which I was fully conscious), and in two post-op visits to monitor my recovery. I have never had a better experience with a medical professional.

I had a lateral blephioplasty procedure done by Dr Kotlus. When I first went to the office he had me do a field test with my eyes normal and then with my kids taped up, big difference. He assured me that the procedure would be covered by Medicare and we set a date for the surgery. We met prior to surgery and explained everything in detail. On the day of surgery at the surgical center everything was done in a professional manner . I went in to the O R and the next thing I knew I was done. I experience no pain and had minor swelling. I had work done by Dr Kotlus for my under eye bags. They have been bothering me for about 7 years. I was explained that fat accumulation is the cause, so I decided to go with the surgery as I saw that was the best option for me. Dr Kotlus explained all options and never tried to upsell me, which I greatly appreciated. When the day arrived, the procedure was so quick— I was at the facility by 7am and home by 10am the same day! When I awoke I saw immediate results— my eye bags were smoothed out! It literally took years off my tired eyes/ face. But naturally one has to bruise and sustain puffy eyes. The puffiness went down considerably in a couple of days, and as I write this now, 6 days later, the bruising is so minor— a little concealer is needed and that’s it. This may not be the case with everyone — I was actually quite surprised as I expected to be more black and blue, but right now just some yellowish color, more under my right eye. But no one I have come in contact with has mentioned any discoloration, unless I bring it up and point it out. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Kotlus, he is thorough and honest— there were no surprises financially, and the after effects were exactly as he explained. I was told I can even go back to the gym, and it’s not even a full week after the surgery! Many thanks to this wonderful Doctor!!

I am 64 years old and had a lower facelift, fat transfer, and C20 laser on June 28th. My experience was outstanding starting from the first appointment at his office. Immediately....as soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with Friendly, warm faces....Ahhhh so comfortable...Dr Kotlus and his staff are extremely professional yet very approachable. I was comfortable talking about procedures that would generally make me feel quite vulnerable. I have been looking for a Doctor I can grow old with and I think I have finally found him after many many....too many.... duds...
