I had a prearicular cyst on he left side of my head. ENT doctor did not know how to remove it fully, put me through numerous painful surgeries that ended up unsuccessful. Also landed me in the ER many times with staph and MRSA infection. Finally heard of Dr Sparano, he did ONE surgery and took the whole thing out. Thinnest scar, barely noticeable and he made sure the problem never reoccurred! He was super sweet, informative and made sure I was comfortable. I cannot thank Dr. Sparano enough for his outstanding care! I noticed a blemish on my nose around one year ago. It wasn't a glaringly obvious "red flag" but more of an imperfection that never quite seemed to heal. I finally went to see a dermatologist who confirmed a Basal Cell Carcinoma. I was initially told that it was likely superficial, therefore making it more difficult to treat. I learned when Basal Cell presents this way, it could really "sprawl," leaving the possibility of being left with a significant defect/ scar once all of the cancer was removed. As an alternative to surgery, the other options given were radiation therapy, which I quickly denounced or a topical treatment in combination with light therapy and frequent observation. The combo treatment only had an 85% cure rate, so I didn't feel comfortable with the "watch it" approach. I ultimately decided to consult with Dr. Sparano for his opinion on whether I was a candidate for a successful reconstructive surgery, given the circumstances. I immediately felt at ease in his office. His staff is knowledgeable, professional and extremely friendly. During my initial appointment, Dr. Sparano thoroughly examined my lesion and explained several possible ways in which he can reconstruct the nose, one even being a skin graft if the size of the deformity called for it. I was so impressed with his confidence, his experience, and most importantly, his compassion for his patients. Needless to say, I scheduled my cancer removal with my dermatologist and an appointment for reconstructive surgery with Dr. Sparano immediately following. Upon removal, my Basal Cell ended up being both deep and superficial, so surgery was definitely the right decision. After successful removal, I left my dermatologist's office with an approximate nickel sized defect/ hole on my nose. Upon arrival to Dr. Sparano's office, I was immediately met by his caring staff and escorted into the procedure room so that I did not have to feel uncomfortable in the waiting area. Dr. Sparano spent time examining my nose and decided on a flap procedure. I still don't quite understand how he did it so successfully, but he used skin from beneath my eyelid to reconstruct my nose. He was kind, gentle, and kept me in the loop throughout the entire procedure. When I left his office, I was blown away by his skill. He saw me the very next morning to clean my incision line and to review proper wound care instructions to ensure proper healing. Over the next two weeks, I healed beautifully and still can't believe how I looked pre reconstruction. I am beyond happy that I made the decision to have Dr. Sparano do my reconstructive surgery. I can now rest easy that the cancer is completely removed, and although I am only 2 months post surgery, I have healed virtually scar free.

I had skin cancer on my nose this year. The cancer spot was the size of a pin head but after the removal with my Dermentoligist, the area to be healed exceeded to be much larger then I anticipated. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Anthony Sparano for the life-changing surgical expertise and care that he gave to our youngest son. He had Otoplasty by Dr. Sparano in April 2018, and it was by far the very best thing we have done for any of our children. While our handsome 7-year old boy has the best personality and a constant smile, the fact was always there that his ears were sticking out way too much, and it made him look quite different from his brothers. In all the photographs and life moments, there were his big ears. Yet this was something our family had never even spoken of, until one day my son said “look mom, I can make my ears move back and I think they look better this way”. I knew then that this was the year to go ahead and listen to my inner voice and repair this abnormality, one that could cause major self-confidence issues over his lifetime. This Otoplasty has set our son up for a better future, one without a physical or psychosocial impediment. I was fortunate enough to already know of the phenomenal reputation of Dr. Sparano. I was drawn to the fact that he exclusively specializes in Faces, Ears and Necks. It was important to me that he was NOT also operating on ‘enhancements’ of other body parts, and this gave me enormous confidence to choose Dr. Sparano for the best possible outcome. I know his dedication to facial plastic surgery, and the fact that he is in solo practice, meant that my son was going to have a doctor with the very best surgical skills in the entire region for Otoplasty. Between his impeccable skills and warm bedside manner, there was no doubt we chose the right surgeon for our son. From the very first surgical consultation to the day of surgery, and to the close personal attention he gave to our family in the post-operative period, Dr. Sparano exemplified the very best. The procedure and post-op expectations were well explained in advance and again throughout the weeks that followed. I admire Dr. Sparano’s style of conservative postoperative management and incision care, and adhering to his standards is critical to a successful outcome. From the very first week after surgery, we could see our son as he wanted to be… with ears shaped “just like his brothers”. Amazingly, he had only a few minutes of pain on the evening of the surgical day, but he refused any pain medication. The only difficulty we encountered in this process was prolonged vomiting from the anesthesia, and to our surprise once the 24-hour mark passed, our son was well on the road to recovery. Our happy and super-confident son is an 8-year old third grader, and the surgical result is phenomenal. The entire staff at Dr. Sparano’s office treated us with kindness every step of the way. They are an excellent reflection of the amazing surgeon behind the practice. For parents who see their child with unusual or abnormal ears, I strongly encourage them to take that leap of faith and place it into the gifted hands of Dr. Sparano. Parents should also realize that taking the required break from sports and gym is just a very small price to pay for the lifelong benefits of Otoplasty. My son shouldn’t have had to grow up with ears that unusual, and now he doesn’t have to. Dr. Sparano’s skills are the gift that keep on giving. We are so thankful. Dr Sparano I can honestly say in an amazing doctor. My family has done a ton of research looking into different surgeons for my rhinoplasty, and everyone continued to say the best things about him. We decided to meet him and quickly understood why. You will see the way he does his consultations is very step-wise and organized which we loved. His before and afters collection is amazing. He talks about natural noses and why they're important and we met 2 patients of his who have beautiful noses, and perfectly natural! The surgical experience was exactly how he described it. His surgical center is neat and clean and full of friendly people. And his office and staff are amazing. Overall, I'm very happy with my rhinoplasty result and have recommended him to many already. I recommended this place to my step son and was on the phone while the patient coordinator basically told him because he is African American, the robot can not handle his hair. We’ve been on multiple consultations with multiple doctors who also use the Robot for FUE and never heard anything like that. The patient coordinator also went on to assume he has “course” hair because she says it looks “course” from the photos. In other words, if you’re black the robot cannot do your hair. It’s even the way she said it. “The type of hair that you have — it just has this type of curl to it that the robot will not understand”. I won’t fault Dr. Sparano as i’m sure he’s probably unaware of what this patient coordinator is telling people of color on the phone but it is rather offensive. We visited multiple Ivy League educated doctors in the area and they all laughed at this. They never mentioned anything negative about his hair — we just felt that these doctors were too far as most of them were in the Montclair/NYC area and thought dr. Sparano would be perfect given that he is in the area by us. Yeah but what a joke. Maybe you shouldnt assume that ALL black people have the same hair type of texture and that they range from very curly to some having course but STRAIGHT hair. I couldn’t imagine a doctor putting in all that work and practice to then not have any experience dealing with patients who aren’t Caucasian. I was very disappointed. We’ll be giving our money to the Harvard educated doctor named Dr. Ganchi who’s up in the Montclair area. This doctor’s practice is only limited to a certain kind. Think twice. What a shame.

Hello I had a consult with Dr. Anthony Sparano recently about some ideas to refresh my skin and aging face. Actually, I was thinking of a neck lift, I'm 51yrs old. I was surprised when he advised me not to rush into anything and explained that everyone's situation is different and he felt that I wasn't ready. He was so honest, explaining everything about the elasticity of my skin etc. He asked me to wait on that for a while and offered some non-surgical enhancements as the alternative. I was skeptical, I have never done anything like this. Well, I have to say WOW! I look 10 years younger in 20 minutes, and I am so very pleased! His has outstanding technique and I should know, I'm a surgical assistant by trade. So, a great doctor and a genuinely nice honest person, how could you go wrong. I will go back! The staff here deserves 5 stars, they are wonderful. Unfortunately, if there is any sort of issue with an injectable, there will be no help in rectifying the problem. I have an extremely baggy eyelid, which has gotten worse as each day passes, as the result of a Botox injection at this office but was told by Dr. Sparano "It's too bad but there was nothing he could do and I would have to wait until it wears off". In the mean time, I look like a freak. I do not blame the doctor, things happen in the injectable world, but there was no attempt whatsoever by the doctor to help me and make me a happy customer.

Just Amazing!! I love Dr. Sparano for so many reasons..First, the girls in the office are so nice, it's a really relaxed atmosphere. Dr. Sparano is an artist to say the least, he always has your best interest in mind and is happy to answer questions. I think what I love the most is that he's just a real guy, down to earth, easy to talk to, just so genuine. The absolute best of the best!

He has done wonders for my face with fillers and keeps me looking young without ever looking fake or "done." He is also very conservative and has actually told me not to do procedures I was contemplating, so he cares about his patients first and not about $$$.
