As an entering college freshman, I was ready to get a rhinoplasty so that I could start this new chapter in my life feeling confident. I was always self conscious about how I looked, I felt as if people were not able to see who I was as a person because they were blinded by my nose. My mom and I gathered a list of six doctors to visit after intensive research and reading numerous reviews. After visiting Doctor Zimm second, I no longer wanted to continue going through consultations. From the moment I was greeted by the receptionist, to the moment I walked out I knew Dr. Zimm was the one I would put all of my trust in. He met with me for 2 and a half hours, taking pictures of my nose from every angle, to then generate an online representation of how my nose would look. I told him all of my concerns and he addressed what would be the perfect nose to fit my face. He took his time to truly analyze every aspect about my nose, and noticed and suggested things I would of never thought of. He was respectful, kind and delievered his thoughts clearly. He would make sure I was understanding everthing he was saying before continuing. He explained how everything would unravel, pre-op and post- op and made me feel compfortable every step along the way. My nose was depicted just like the photos we agreed on - honestly it came out even better! Everything he described from how I would be feeling, to how it would look was extremely accurate. After the swelling that I was well aware would occur, after proper care and dedication to completing my routine (with things he supplies - medicine, creams and ointments as a part of the total cost ) have made me feel confident in the way I look. I would highly reccomend Dr. Zimm to anyone who wants to fully trust the person. He was caring and the final look was better than I could ever imagine. He took his time and even took longer than the surgery time he had thought, to simply take his time to make everything perfect. You must meet Dr. Zimm halfway and learn how to take care of your nose for proper results. It takes a nose one year to heal and its only been three months since surgery. I can't wait to see how my nose will heal within the next few months. Thank you thank you forever!

Primary Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty/Balloon Sinuplasty Need a perfect, natural-looking nose? Go nowhere else but to Dr. Zimm!...Being involved in the industry myself, I went to 13 different rhinoplasty consultations in NYC to find the right surgeon. After hearing lots of opinions, prices and seeing different images of the "perfect" nose, I chose Dr. Zimm. He won me by his demeanor, his experience, strive for perfection and honesty. He also didn't have a "signature" nose he puts on every one of his patients (walk around the UES and you'll know what I'm talking about). He is truly an amazing surgeon and anyone who works with him at the hospital will tell you the same. His office is clean, beautifully decorated and never overly-crowded with long wait-times. Not to mention his staff is superb- Jennifer and Evita are friendly, accommodating and thorough with answering any and all questions. I walked out of the hospital after the procedure, pain-free and fully able to breathe through my nose again! I'd be lying if I didn't mention the pain that came later that night, but I blame it partially on my stubbornness and refusal to take pain meds and also on the post-anesthesia headache I encountered (common reaction to general anesthesia). Dr. Zimm gives you a great care pack with lots of goodies to help you in recovery. I eventually took the pain meds when needed and gradually went down to just extra-strength Tylenol. My swelling and bruising was so minimal that it was almost hard to believe. I give credit to the "magic pills" you get in your care-pack for that. I also took lots of vitamin C, echinacea, and a couple epsom salt baths (I'm into homeopathic remedies) and by the third day I felt like myself again. Moral of the story, no pain no gain! And the minimal pain is worth it b/c I love my new nose! Not only is it modified and improved, but it still looks like me :)

I should preface this review by stating that prior to meeting Dr. Zimm, I had undergone cosmetic procedures with 3 different NYC-based plastic surgeons, all of whom were highly reputable. Each time, the results left me feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. From beginning to end, my experience with Dr. Zimm was worlds apart. The consultation was unlike what I had experienced with other plastic surgeons in the past — Dr. Zimm was incredibly generous with his time and was extremely thorough in answering all of my questions and addressing all of my concerns. I could immediately sense that he genuinely cared about getting the best possible result for me. His bedside manner is impeccable - I was quite nervous prior to the procedure, but Dr. Zimm (and Heather the P.A.) made sure I was as comfortable as possible. Most importantly - the results: simply put, they are absolutely outstanding and beyond what I even thought was possible. Best of all, they are completely natural looking; I still look like me, just a MUCH improved version of me. As far as I’m concerned, Dr. Zimm’s eye for aesthetics is without equal (and to reiterate, this is coming from someone with plenty of basis for comparison). I would be remiss if I neglected to mention Jennifer, Heather, and Claire (Dr. Zimm’s staff). They are all incredibly warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Long story short: Never again will I trust my face to anybody other than Dr. Zimm! (For those wondering, the procedures Dr. Zimm performed were non-surgical rhinoplasty, as well as fillers in the cheeks, tear troughs, and chin)

Dr. Zimm is an exceptional doctor who comforts his patients effortlessly with his innate compassion and wide breadth of knowledge and immediately seeks to better understand their individual needs. From the moment patients meet him, to the day of cast removal and after, Dr. Zimm and his staff, Jennifer and Evita, work earnestly to create a smooth and easy experience, albeit via telephone or in person. I encountered some delays in our surgical plans due to my personal insurance companies' discrepancies, and he and his team approached the situations with ease and confidence each time a new issue arose. Eventually, we successfully set a date for the procedure and in the days leading up to it, I had contact with his office repeatedly, making sure I was prepared and ready to go. I cannot say enough positive remarks regarding my experience with the whole Dr. Zimm team and the end result of my procedure. Dr. Zimm is an artist first and a surgeon second.

I became a patient of Dr Zimm in September of 2013, he was primarily my ENT. The first few visits were not pleasant as I was fighting a severe sinus infection. Looking at my medical history Dr. Zimm strongly suggested surgical correction of my sinuses since I was having 3-4 sinus infections a year and antibiotics were no longer fixing the issue. He ordered a cat scan and presented it to me at our next appointment explaining what was wrong and how he'd correct the problem. Since Dr. Zimm is both an ENT and PLASTIC SURGEON (a surgeon with a great aesthetic sense!), I asked his opinion on a rhinoplasty and how he would "redo" my nose. He suggested to do it at the same time under one anesthesia. He showed me all the plastic corrections he'd apply to my nose. I am not going to lie I was very very scared and it took me quite a while to make up my mind. Through all this time Dr. Zimm never rushed me through anything, was very professional and answered all my questions. Finally we scheduled the surgery for 11/25/2013. Dr.Zimm personally called me the evening before to make sure all my last minute questions were answered. I saw Dr. Zimm the day of the surgery and many times after. All follow up visits to his practice are very professional and his office is VERY clean. I also have to give credit to both of his coordinators, Jennifer and Evita who are doing their best to accommodate my appointments, while being courteous and professional. It has been almost a year and I am 100% satisfied with both surgeries, I am able to breath much better and my nose looks outstanding and ABSOLUTELY NATURAL. It was worth the money to do the rhinoplasty.I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND Dr. Zimm to anyone who wants to pursue any cosmetic corrections. He has the knowledge, the skill and it is very personable (which is important to me!). THANK YOU DR. ZIMM.

If you feel the need to read my story know this: Dr. Zimm is the very best at what he does. His work is exceptional, his staff is beyond timely, and he goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done right. There is nobody in the city, if not the country, I would put above Dr. Zimm-if what you need falls within his purview, go to him no matter what. But to understand why, take a few minutes to read below. There was once a time in my life when I was a college recruited athlete who, despite being 225lbs, could run up and down a soccer field without a single water break. Then, in December, 2004 I got surgery to correct a deviated septum. One morning, 18 months later, in June of 2006-50 lbs lighter, and in the best shape of my life, I went for a light jog. Ten minutes in, I couldn't breathe. My sinuses backed up and I immediately became sick. For 14 years I tried to run outside-I tried and tried, but it only got worse-so bad I once collapsed during an alumni soccer game in front of my students and coworkers. During softball, I could barely man a catch position, let alone play outfield. A lifelong athlete, my twenties were defined more by what I couldn't do physically than what I could do- I went to nearly a dozen ENTs. None of them had answers-I was given nasal sprays or allergy medication and sent in my way. I even asked several of them if my breathing issues could be related to obvious structural damage to the front of my nose. The answer every time: "No, that has nothing to do with it." Last December, the breathing got so bad it began to cause reflux issues-to the point where, no matter my diet, I began vomiting in my sleep. After going to two other doctors, I was told I needed to see Dr. Zimm. I work as an educator-contracted until 4pm-in Bergen County, so to get to the east side of Manhattan is not easy, but Jennifer-the secretary-worked with Dr. Zimm to make time for me. Time and again they found a way to make these appointments and make them happen fast. Within two weeks I had a date for surgery. Whatever came up, Dr. Zimm and Jennifer came through, often within hours of an email or call. I once forgot blood work papers and Jennifer emailed them within a half hour of getting my email, at a time when I had a four hour window between the time I contacted her and my scheduled blood work. She helped me confirm my insurance coverage, answering each of my million emails with the kind of detail and specificity the most anxious patient could ask. Dr. Zimm met me with direct yet cordial bedside manner that eventually evolved into properly calibrated humor and familiarity-on the day of surgery, he informed me that he was adding a procedure to an already very complex surgery. When I asked if it would be covered by insurance, he told me not to worry about it. That last minute procedure added an extra hour and a half to my surgery-totaling 4h30 min. He did it because he knew it would be a difference maker, not worrying for a second about compensation or his own convenience. He made sure to see me the next day, a Saturday, and always eased my self-consciousness when I'd forget insrtructions or misplace my post-surgery kit. I returned to work 10 days later and nobody could tell that I had my nose rebuilt less than two weeks before. The post surgery pain was minimal and I was back to playing softball less than two months post surgery. Now three months out, I can breathe again, I am not nearly in the shape I was in the day my breathing issues emerged, and yet I can be much more active. For years I had blamed myself for my breathing issues-perhaps I treated my body too harshly as an athlete or overworked myself when I started a new job. When no one else could help, Dr. Zimm could. With the brilliance of a doctor, the hands of an artist, and consideration of a human, he gave me back my life. More importantly, he gave me back my dignity- I will never forget it, and I will be forever grateful. Dr. Zimm is not just a good choice, he's the only choice. My life is proof of that. You won't regret it.

I been fortunate enough to never be admitted to a hospital. So when I decided on septoplasty I was nervous about my first hospital experience. Dr.Zimm and Jennifer have been very nice and helpful throughout the process. They have answered all my numerous questions and lead me through everything I should do regarding the procedure. It was easy to follow. I was most nervous about the pain so I didn't believe them when they assured me of only slight discomfort. For a person first time on general anesthesia I was pleased when I laid on the operating table and after what felt like 30 seconds I was in the recovery room. I did not feel a thing. In the coming days I used the painkillers maybe twice and went to see Dr. Zimm twice more for followup appointments. Removing the splints was equally brief and painless. I can now breathe and feel exponentially better and no longer breathe through my mouth. Highly Recommended.

I had difficulties breathing and was under inhalers. I never knew I had a deviated septum. The minute he treated me I explained to him all I was suffering and he took a look at my nose he knew what the problem was . He never rushed me to surgery as the first option. He sat down and explained the options and the first was not surgery. I was so happy because surgery was the last option in my mind . I’ve never had surgery in my life and the thought was so scary and frightening .He had me on a treatment that required tablets and nasal sprays daily for several months. He then send me to have a cat scan. It was very clear that the treatment wasn’t doing anything . I still felt that discomfort of breathing fully and constantly out of breath worse feeling ever. I knew im needed surgery I had let year pass by but my condition was getting worse . As Dr. Zim had told told me it was going to happen. Not once he rushed me to surgery . This Dec 2017 I decided to get my deviated septum fixed and rhinoplasty. I was able to do 2 procedures at once. I'm so glad besides a great ENT Dr. Zim is . He is a great skilled plastic surgeon. Besides my breathing I was unhappy with my nose . I had a bump and always disliked how it did not go with my face. Before my surgery Dr.Zim was very detailed about my concerns on my nose and he was so amazing he gave me his feedback and felt very comfortable and secure about all we spoke about and I knew I was in great hands . Dr. Zim went through the whole procedure all medications I will be taking and all I needed to do. I was given a kit my survival kit for my procedure where I was amazed how organized and thorough he and his office is. Evita the nurse in Dr. Zim's office was such a sweetheart so professional spoke to me every time I had a question .Couple of days before surgery she went over with me which each item on the kit and when I will be using. She also called me the day before to make sure I took my herbal supplements for the bruising which is a miracle . Dr. Zim called me as well at night to see if I had any questions or concerns . So sweet and caring. . Its been 4 weeks after my surgery and I can finally breath. Never felt this way I can fully breath . No longer see the bump on my nose . I love my nose the fact that its refined and fits my face and I couldn’t be happier. I still look myself and that’s what I wanted . I’m getting compliments already not even 6 months yet. I know it takes a year to fully heal and all I can say is Dr.Zim is amazing at what he does. Jennifer and Evita have been phenomenal with my journey . Jennifer has been so efficient , professional and will never forget from day one 7 years ago walking to Dr. Zim's office , so welcoming, sweet , so helpful, attentive and informative . Jennifer and Evita have been so kind, helpful, and accommodating with everything from scheduling my appointments to communicating with my (very difficult) insurance company. I felt that Dr. Zimm was very patient in answering all of my questions and concerns. About two weeks after the procedure, I was worried that the results could not be seen, however I was wrong. It was after a month when I truly noticed the difference. I felt like a new person, more refreshed, and looked well rested. Several of my friends and family noticed this positive change in my appearance as well. They kept asking me what I had done, and they were surprised that it was a non-invasive procedure. He gave me an initial closed reduction surgery in the following weeks, but it was clear this was not sufficient to repair the severe damage done by the accident. I visited Dr. Zimm recently because I was suffering for a couple of months from what I thought may have been a mild case of vertigo. He was amazing and made it go away with a few treatments in the office and some exercises that he asked me to continue doing at home for a couple of weeks. When I was first informed that I needed Septoplasy , I was very reluctatnt to go for any surgery, Dr. Zimm was recommended by my allergist. I being a very pariticualar about the doctors I see. I proceded to get several referrals form various sources. We went for several consultations before deciding to proceed with Dr. Zimm. I had the surgery about 12 days ago. I can honestly say that the most painful part was placing the IV line in my hand which was actually almost painless Dr Tannenbaum the anesthesiologist did it in himself. I went out and woke feeling rather good. I actually never took any pain medication and experienced less bleeding than cutting myself shaving. I went back 7 days after the operation to have the splints removed which again was painless and my breathing has been great. Dr Zimm's staff is professional and they manage the schedule very efficiently, you won't be waiting around !! I had the procedure at Manhattan Eye and Ear. I was considering using a surgeon that had his own private facility because I'm not the hospital/Clinic kind of guy. I did have a good experience at the hospital. They didn't keep me waiting too much and respected my privacy. I'd highly recommend Dr Zimm and would choose him again for any procedure.

Jennifer has excellent customer service skills, very gracious, and makes you feel very welcomed and at ease. Dr. Zimm is the type of physician you wish all your physicians would be. Prior to finding Dr. Zimm, I had gone to a laser skin spa and unfortunately, I wasted a lot of money on fillers. When Dr. Zimm gives a filler, the results have always been positive and he was even able to correct the bumps under my eyes caused by the residuals of a filler given previously by the laser skin spa. Dr. Zimm is truly an artist and a master at his profession.

After an accident that caused a nasal fracture in two places on the bridge of my nose, I was left with compromised breathing from a deviated septum and a crooked bridge. This was a daunting diagnosis, and an even more daunting journey of surgery options/plastic surgeon searches ahead. I was referred to Dr. Zimm by a ENT doctor that did not specialize in the type of surgery I would need to have it repaired. After my first meeting with Dr. Zimm I felt confident in his ability as a surgeon (his credentials are impressive and my due diligence found only praised reviews of his work). Since I had a prominent bridge of my nose to begin with, and it was possible it was going to get bigger from scar tissue due to the break, and on top of it all it was now very crooked, I explored the possibility of doing a full rhinoplasty along with the septoplasty I would need to fix the deviated septum. (This is a major decision that should not be taken lightly.) What I liked the most about Dr. Zimm was his approach from the cosmetic point of view - and even more so that he was a ENT surgeon (which you need for the functional part/septoplasty) who is a board certified facial plastic surgeon. His aesthetic view aligned with what I ultimately wanted to achieve – natural, soft, feminine, yet still myself (just a better version). I am 100% sure I chose the right Dr. Every single one of the Dr.’s and nurses in the hospital, and even plastic surgeon’s I came in contact with in NYC, sung praises of his work, his attention to detail and his “meticulousness”. When you are having work done to the central point of your face, these are the characteristics you want in your surgeon. Dr. Zimm walked me through every step of my surgery and recovery, and he was extremely articulate in his guidance of what I was to expect at every point of the recovery process. This alleviated much stress that could have come, had I not know what to expect through the healing stages. I also must mention that his staff is top notch – and extremely helpful (and patient) throughout the process. Jennifer Plasencia, Dr. Zimm’s patient coordinator could not have been nicer/more helpful and informative. I am very pleased with my result, and have gotten compliment after compliment on my appearance post-surgery, and I can breathe with ease again! It is one of the best (life changing) decisions I have made, and much of it is due to Dr. Zimm.

Dr. Zimm is the best, hands down. I am writing this review literally the minute I got home. I had to take a 2-hour train ride to see him but judging by the results and my overall experience in his office, it is well worth the extra miles. I have lost a significant amount of volume in my mid-face areas due to sudden weight loss. I looked hollowed, gaunt, old and overworked. The most annoying part was the depression of the tear troughs which caused dark-circle-like long shadows further down my cheeks. After the filler was injected, I looked at least 5 years younger instantly. The result is so much better than I had expected. The doctor listens to what I say and exercises his judicious and aesthetic judgement to achieve my goals. He even talked me out of unnecessary procedures and made me feel he truly cares and acts in my best interests. The pain was pretty manageable and he has very gentle hands. I immediately knew right after the procedure, that I was going to book him for the Rhinoplasty I've wanted and dreaded so much for such a long time!
