Prairie Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery is the premier center of excellence for Nebraska. We are just fortunate to have such a highly talented and dedicated team in our capital city. It's refreshing the surgeons keep up on all the newest techniques and have a variety of options available to go over in most cases. Surgery is often the last resort. The staff are courteous, professional and very friendly. The office has a family atmosphere and it's greatly appreciated that they have a physical therapy department in the same office. This is a stellar team of professionals who deliver exceptional client services. They can be proud of their educational services and give priority to pain control. I am 100 percent satisfied with this team. I have been using this clinic for many years. WELL DONE PRAIRIE TEAM!

Dr. Machado and his staff are outstanding! I was seen for a hand injury. Dr. Machado has always been so kind. He made me feel important and that my pain mattered. He attempted to treat the injury non-surgically. When that was not successful, he recommended surgery. Him and his staff worked with the insurance company to ensure communication was superior in order to protect my out of pocket expenses. They clearly explained the procedure and expectations. The morning of my surgery, Dr. Machado, his staff, and the Bryan West staff all made me feel well taken care of and comfortable. They listened to my concerns and made me feel at ease. Dr. Machado even called me the next day to see how I was feeling. This is truly exceptional! I have been working with Prairie's physical therapist, Julie, for the past couple of weeks. She has been amazing! She is great at explaining what the exercises will do for my hand and why it is important. She is friendly, honest, and knowledgeable and gives me excellent positive feedback regarding my progress. I can't say enough wonderful things about Prairie. In an unfortunate circumstance where injury or medical issues occur, I can't imagine considering any other orthopaedic office in the future. They are all simply wonderful!

Everyone is very knowledgeable, friendly and takes time with each patient to go over tests, exams and answer all questions. With all that, you still get in and out quickly. It is not like other practices where you spend 5x's as much time waiting as you do with the Dr. At Prairie you are with your Dr promptly. Love this practice.

Given a knee brace for my knee that needed surgery. Receive my statement with insurance being billed $1025 for a knee brace and my portion was $643. Found the same exact knee brace for $79. I wore the knee brace twice and it cause so much swelling I couldn't wear it. I was supposed to have knee surgery but was informed that they needed money upfront before they would do the surgery. They wouldn't work with me. I would never recommend this place.

Several years ago, my daughter had broken her forearm while playing on our back yard jungle gym. We took her to the emergency room to get her arm put in a cast. When the cast came off, we realized the arm was not set properly and she only had about 30% rotation ability. We then were referred to Children's Hospital in Omaha where her arm was re-broken and her bones were drilled our to receive rods to get her bones to heal correctly. The surgery went well and in time she regained nearly 100% use of her arm. We thought we were out of the woods as several years had passed and she had no problems. However, after about 6 or so years, my wife and I noticed our daughter became reluctant to "stress" her arm. Within a week of noticing, she was in so much pain, she just held her arm to her stomach with her other hand. That's when we found Dr. Hurlbut. He took x-rays of her arm, and saw that the rod was being pushed out of her bone and was plucking a nerve every time she moved. Seeing how much pain she was in, he immediately scheduled surgery for her, so she could get some reprieve. Dr. Hurlbut sat down with me and my wife and in great detail, explained the surgery and what he needed to do. He gave us as much time as we needed to ask questions and share concerns. (He was also very kind and caring with my wife when she cried). The surgery went exactly as he had explained and our daughter is back to her normal self. I wished we had found Dr. Hurlbut when the accident happened, but we do count ourselves VERY fortunate to have found him to put an end to our daughters pain.

PA staff are great as well. Julie has been a great therapist with my second shoulder and I'll ask for her when I do my knees.

They are great at what they do. I'm very satisfied with the surgery. But however, they are awful about refilling pain meds in a timely fashion. They ignore calls from people in there own office. Either give enough to get thru mondays or less to fill again before the weekend because filling on Mondays are impossible!!!! I know that there is an epidemic out there but this is awful.

I recently decided to go to Prairie Orthopedics on a limb and I am SO happy I did. I have had my in-grown toenail done three times by my primary care physician (Not at Prairie Ortho). Every time I got the procedure done, I was in so much pain and they kept growing back. I came to Prairie Orthopedics to see if Dr. Krejci could help my situation. SHE DID! She not only removed my ingrown toenail but she did it with out me feeling any pain! She also gave me options and suggestions to make sure they don't grow back. I'm very pleased with not only Dr. Krejci but everyone in the office. The office ladies are SO nice, and very good at working with your schedule. They also think of you if a slot opens to try and get you in sooner. Both Dr. Krejci, her nurse Karla, and Chad are all VERY nice. They never made me feel bad about having ugly toes! They also were very good at keeping conversation, and showing they cared! I will continue to see Dr. Kara Krejci with any foot problems I have in the future!

Dr. Patrick Hurlbut performed rotator cuff repair surgery and carpal tunnel surgery on both hands at the same time 6 months ago and I could not be more pleased! I met with 4 orthopedic surgeons before a doctor friend recommended Dr. Hurlbut. The doctor and his staff spend 2 HOURS with me the first time I met with him and explained in detail my condition and what he was recommending my treatment be. Dr. Hurlbut's physical therapy practice is outstanding. They know exactly what the doctor wants them to do with his patients and he communicates with the physical therapists regularly.
