SOUTH CENTRAL TOOK MY REVIEW DOWN BUT IM HOING TO REPOST IT This is the worst hospital ever I went there because I was feeling really bad I finally saw the doctor he told me to get some Mucinex and sent me home I'm like I sat here all this time just for you to tell me to get some Mucinex so I went back home to try to wait until the next morning to go to a clinic but I started to feel worse and I went back to South Central at 4:30 in the morning I saw the same nurse practitioner again and he told me he's not here to treat what I have he's only here for life and death situations that's the most ignorant thing to say to a patient so my husband took me to forest general and come to find out I have pneumonia I would say this nurse practitioner name but I'm not forest general took really good care of me so I'm here to tell you do not go to South Central if you cherish your life o and some of the registration staff are rude as I don't know what just don't go here people please!

Ashamed to have this hospital emergency room in my hometown. Don't come here often but fiance had horrible wreck and it's closest hospital so this is where they brought her, 3hrs after arriving finally get someone to acknowledge she was actually in pain. Poor excuse for emergency, majority of staff were rude and need to choose another occupation.

If you have a choice on where to go, do yourself a massive favor and go to somewhere besides South Central. Over the years my family has been to this hospital, we had to deal with rude staff, doctors that do not listen to patients or their families, doctors not consulting the family and so on. The ER is much worse as you will be sitting and waiting for a doctor for hours. Normally you will be waiting 4+ hours just to see a ER doctor. My grandmother went into this hospital with a UTI a few months back and ended up coming back with an hematoma injury to her hand that they claimed was caused by her "rolling on her hand." The head nurse confessed that this was caused by a botched IV that was done on her hand. They later changed the story and blamed it on her. Administration did ABSOLUTELY nothing and was a massive waste of time. On our recent visit with a UTI again, the ER staff was extremely rude to us and blamed the confusion and hostility shown by my grandmother on a "SINUS INFECTION". They refused to give us a employee number and name to report them to administration when we asked.

Today, I took my sister to the Emergency Room at South Central Regional Medical Center. She was complaining of shortness of breath, severe congestion and low potassium and dehydration . We waited for nearly 4 HOURS in the waiting room for a doctor to see her. My sister got an EKG and an Xray, and was told to go to the waiting room until a treatment room became available. After over 3 hours and 50 minutes of waiting, we both left. Although we have had various levels of emergency room services in the past, this time was absolutely the worst. People were sick, coughing, vomiting and all getting shuffled from one triage room to another. South Central Regional Medical Center has one of the worst hospital Emergency Departments in the state of Mississippi and possibly the nation. The check-in staff was very rude and uncaring.

Wife suffers from an autoimmune disease. Took her to the emergency room for a grapefruit sized abscess. After 2 hours, they finally came in and said they don't mess with those and we should see someone or put a hot compress on it. First off, we already saw somebody else which led us here. Second, she has been living with a hot compress on it. Third, when her pain level is at an easy 15 on a scale from 1 to 10, something anything needs to be done. This is overall what we experienced: Poor attitude Terrible communication Farthest thing from professionalism Not at all caring Highly undependable The south central way - "we don't give a f**k"

Worst hospital I ever been to in my life... I just took my daughter that's only 5 weeks old because she had bad rashes on her an the staff members where so rude to my wife an I.. the staff was so disrespectful towards my wife about why did we bring are child here when the flu was around.. the women name Wanda was not worried about why we came she was only worried about us leaving more then what was wrong with are child.. If you value respect an care don't go to South Central they are truly terrible service an really don't care about there patients.

Worst ER visit ever. I came in with excruciating pain in my knee because of a fall. I kept telling them the position I was in was making it throb. I asked for ice and was told they couldn't do anything for me until the nurse saw me. I asked for an X Ray and anything to aleviate the pain. The nurse praticioner basically told me I didn't need the xray because I walked into the hospital (which I didn't) and all they could do is give me a shot. Ever person I spoke to while there made some sort of mistake. No supervision and no desire to given any compassionate service. The following day I made an appointment with an Arthopedic doc and they x rayed my knee. It was fractured. I work In healthcare and I am appalled. I realize they encounter all sorts of crap, but come on. No one acted like they had any idea what they were doing.

I had to go to the ER due to a supposed intestinal obstruction last week. First of all, the nurses are horrible at getting blood. I have two huge bruises on my arm, due to them "trying to find a vein". Excuse me, but I had it drawn this week at st. Dominic's and they found a vein without hardly looking and I dont have a bruise from that! Second, they wound up doing a CT scan and that horrible ER doctor came in and told me the obstruction was all fluid. Then she tells me I have a 6 inch mass on my left ovary and that it is cancer because it has solid mass. She freaked us out, all the while not even trying to close the door while telling my husband and I this. Um, excuse me, but it is possible for ovarian cysts to have solid mass and just be an ovarian cyst. It wasn't a full 60 seconds after she left I had a nurse come in and tell me that she's sorry to hear the news. Um, invasion of privacy much...I think that's a violation people. I'm not happy with that experience at all!!!!

Everyone told me to go to H'Burg, or UMMC in Jackson. I said, take me to South Central. They did a fantastic job! If you live in the Jones County area, believe me, they have very qualified people to treat anyone!

I went to the er at 1:00 and after 5 hours was told nothing was wrong and that I should follow up with regular doctor, but I'm still having those same pains ! Wesley here I come... Really needs to b Shut Down !

Pure awful . Never again will I go or suggest anyone else to our local hospital . The staff and ONE doctor running the ER were pitiful. I'm going to be billed for wasting my own time by going to such an unprofessional hospital.

For many years I had no insurance and every time I went there I was told either pay $75 or leave. We do not care. I just left. I also applied for a job many times only to be told NO. I will never go back here even if I was on my death bed.

Many reasons for one star but right now I am in the ER for my brother and we couldn't find ONE parking space in the isolated ER parking lot. It's way too small. The emergency room needs to be accessible for EMERGENCY patients.

South Central has to be the worst run and least efficient emergency room in the entire country. I witnessed many people being told they may want to try elsewhere because the wait is over two hours. Our wait is currently at five hours and counting. We had a minor injury that required some stitches but I feel like five hours is ridiculous. We are finally seeing the doctor now. The people are nice enough just have no sense of urgency. A young child came in ,potentially have appendicitis, after being referred to the ER by a clinic and they told her it would be multiple hours. Once the family decided to leave to go to Hattiesburg, the nurses decided to bring the child back to the ER. I cannot begin to understand what it takes to run an emergency room but there has to be a point where things have to move quicker.

Hi...I had the worst experience ever a year ago I had slipped an fell down mi door steps the pain was excruciating so mi husband called an ambulance and they didn't carry me out on a stretcher they made me walk to the ambulance it was excruciating to walk it took two months ta get well I also had ta wait at least 2 hours to get CT no broken bones so they sent me home and they sent me a bill of $954.00. They are horrible what if I had a broke back.

I had my first grand mal seziure at home in my sleep and when I came to my husband told me... So I went to the er cause I had a bad headache and my tongue was swollen... The nurse practitioner told me he been doing this for 18 years and the symtoms that im having arent related to those of a seziure and dismissed me! I will never go back!

My sister was taken to the ER in excruciating pain. They did some blood work left her on a stretcher in the hall for several hours waiting on a van to take her home. She screamed bloody murder as they loaded her on the van. I called her doctor in Hattiesburg, they sent an ambulance. Forest General ER did a normal hip x-ray to find her broken hip and sent her to OR immediately. I feel so sorry for the people of the town where I grew up and so thankful that I do not live there and depend on SCMRMC for my healthcare needs. I would have given it a zero if I could.

We turned around twice and finally stopped policeman at front entrance to get directions to ER entrance. We were not the only ones. Waited in Waiting room for 4 hrs before got a room. Then another hour to see doctor. Then al ready hour to get results from tests. Got here at 915 pm and still waiting at 325 am. It is crazy how this ER is run. Hopefully won't have to come back anytime in near future.

My grandson was delivered at this wonderful hospital. My daughter, a first time mommy, was given outstanding care by an attentive staff. The nursing care was second to none, even though there was an abundance of babies being born at the same time. Though stretched thin by a full nursery, the nurses took time, gave good training, and even kept their sense of humor. The pediatrician on staff spent time and gave a thorough presentation to the first time mommy and daddy. Wonderful birthing experience.

If I could rate this a zero I would. Worst er I have ever seen. Some staff friendly but the wait is rediculous even for emergency room standards. Do not come here unless you literally have no other choice and about 8 hours to wait for the basics. Longer to see a doctor.

I had a family member recently in ICU for a week and the staff, from the ladies who walk us back for visit to the doctors, were amazing. Of course I cant remember the names but thank you so much for doing all that you could to help my father and for making me and my family as comfortable and confident while we were there and the time the staff took with us to help us understand everything that was going on. Doctor Kim, we appreciate you greatly for everything. We couldnt have asked for a better doctor. Thank you so much SCRMC staff for everything.

If I could give zero I would this place killed my mother 6 years ago and almost killed my dad a few days ago. The night nurses on the 1st floor are rude and do not check on patients over night they allowed my dad to slip into a coma after carbon dioxide built up in his body. They aren't properly trained to care for paraplegic patients . ICU nurse was very sweet while we were there but the ICU lacks the basic technology that many of the hospitals have adopted such as cordless phones for patients to speak with family when they are depressed or need to hear a familiar voice . This isn't a hospital I would pick for a loved one trust me when I say go to Forest General !!

My grandfather is being treated here now for a broken hip. He seems to be having an okay time. Not sure about their medical staff, but as far as their HR and phone operators: they are RUDE. LET SOMEONE FINISH A SENTENCE FOR PETE'S SAKE.

I worked there as a Candy Striper in the mid 60s. I loved that place. What I don't like is the new paint job. Anytime you paint a big building like that white, it cheapens the overall look of the hospital. When you add the garish "purple" color, it looks really bad. All cream and beige would look more more professional. Go back to the previous color and fire your designer!!!

This is the worst hospital I have ever seen. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It should he shut down. My sister in law sat in the waiting rooms with chest pains, whelps, and trouble breathing for hours. The staff was rude. The only way to be seen is to make a scene! Which I did. I then decided that we would leave and go somewhere else. They proceeded to tell me I was an idiot. Well you won't be getting money from us anymore. I would rather drive to Hattiesburg or all the way to Jackson. I would rather die than go back there.

I have had only 2 experience at this hospital and they both were good ones. My ex-wife was on life support and pulled thru and I spent two days when I had weird heart issues. The care and compassion were top notched. I couldn't have asked for better care and support. Most all hospitals are under staffed and the patient to care givers ratio is unreal. Just like any hospital, they charge way too much and do give unnecessary shots and test but it is what it is. I spent 2 days in there and my bill was over $14,000.00, which is so ridiculous.

Dr. Samson the behavioral doctor is the worst doctor to go to if you or anyone in your family is seeking help. He is very arrogant and has behavior issues of his own. How can he take care of people's needs without first taking care of his own!

I went to the hospital for a bee sting, my hand was swollen and in pain. They seen me right away but didn't do very much. They gave me a benadryl and tylenol that I could have gotten in the dollar store.. now they are charging me $405.25 for nothing!! I called billings to explain that what they did wasn't worth that kind of money. She was very rude to me when I told her that I'm poor..she said pay $50 a month and I told her I could only pay $10 a month.. she said in a very ugly voice that my $ 10 won't be accepted. I shouldn't have to pay that much money for nothing..I mean they did nothing! I would never go to them again.. also this is why people like Branie Sanders.

This is the most pathetic place been here over an hour. The only 1 here and it's for a head injury at school. It needs to be shut down. I can't believe we waisted our time here!! Staff was very rude!!

I have had two separate experiences with South Central Regional Medical Center. One in 2017; the other in the last month. Both experiences were extremely disappointing. Both times the in-take staff were slow and acted as if the patient I accompanied was a waste of their time. The nurses were unfriendly and unsympathetic. When asked for a chair for my relative, I was dismissed rudely. The doctors, although knowledgeable, were extremely brief and rushed. The staff that I did find to be very friendly and diligent were the food service personnel. They went above and beyond during our stay. I do not recommend this facility for medical care. Hattiesburg is a short drive away and worth it.

Very poor service in the emergency room my baby was shaking having a fever seizure and they let us sit in the waiting room over 1 hour saying they don't have any rooms some needs to be done about this hospital it needs to be closed down
