I would not suggest going here. I waited one hour in the waiting room and then another hour once I got in a checkup room. Once the doctor finally came in he barely even looked at me and just wrote me a prescription quickly, I didn't even really have a chance to talk to him. That was a year ago and I am still having the same issues. It's not worth your time or money to go here.

Visited the Battle Creek location this morning and was very disappointed in the service that I received. The issues that I went in for were just brushed off and little advice given to resolve those issues. Since I was a first time patient, I was told that I would have a complete “skin check”, this check was so brief that I wonder if the PA that I dealt with even noticed I had freckles. Needless to say, the process wasn’t thorough AT ALL. I left having more questions than I initially showed up with. Also, would like to note that there was a gauze pad next to my chair that contained blood. Not a good practice, poor hygiene.

Laura Taylor

They seem to not have enough time for their patients. I think big things like cancer can get missed because they are in a rush.

Called with a skin condition asking if they had any openings and the FIRST question was "what kind of insurance do you have?" After answering, was told they accept my insurance but can't get me in for 1.5 months. I would have thought a practice this large (that has monopolized the dermatology market in Battle Creek) could take 2 minutes to peak at a person’s arm. Guess it will get better on its own or spread and consume the rest of my body...

Their treatment was very kind and informative.

Nils Vos

Fast, friendly, and efficient. I have 2 visits and dealt with 2 PA's and they were nice, professional, explained everything to me, and were efficient. I am not sure what all the negative comments are about? This place is good.

This practice is very large and caters to baby boomers. The outside staff was very nice but once inside the office I found the physicians assistants and actual doctors very rude. It took them 2 times to burn off a skin tag and they wanted to charge me for the second time, even though it had been frozen two weeks ago. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. Also had to endure the doctors kids pictures plastered all over the walls.

Melissa Jelinek

Very poor communication. The office lacks organizational skills.

Judy Leclear

I've called twice today, trying to see about a prescription, first thing this morning, left a message with the nurse,.... nothing back ,so I called again,5hours later, Sherry ,that answered the phone was rude ,"she probably hasn't got your message yet"... REALLY??? I'm needing some assistance, and this is how your treated...don't bother calling back this place is a joke,i wouldn't recommend them to anyone!

I was very pleased with my first visit to the Surgery Center. All of the staff greeted me with kindness and care. Very attentive to my needs and explained all my options for treatment. I highly recommend this business! Thank you!

Every person I have interacted with at the Centre has been absolutely wonderful.

VERY VERY bad customer service in their office. When calling to ask question the receptionist are very rude as soon as they answer the phone. I’ve been trying to talk a manager for 2 weeks now leaving messages and no return. I DO NOT recommend this doctors office to anyone go to Jackson, Kalamazoo or Marshall

Brian Marks

Recently went to the Sturgis office for a pimple by my mouth was told they mainly do cancer and showed me the percentage that die from cancer at my age was scared and traumatized I also was told over the phone when I gave my insurance information that I have 10 free visits called back a day later and they exclaimed it wasn’t them and they did not know who I talked to so I think I was a victim of identity theft and canceled my insurance card and debit card and asked for a new cards after that insandant I would not recommend this place the Battle Creek payment office is the meanest place I have ever called I was told I had such great insurance I would have no copay then was informed 2 months later I owed around30 dollars very unprofessional

Jessica Saddler

Very very rude! They never explain prices or patient plan with me. They got very rude with me when I asked questions about the services I was receiving! I highly suggest to find another place of business.

Maria P

Dr is great, but office staff is terrible. They expect payment up front but never tell you that. I told them I didn't bring my HSA card with me and they treated me like a criminal. I have always paid my bills on time. Very disappointed in my visit.

Jill Case

Front desk fast, appointments fast, however care and response is HORRIBLE! I realize insurance is big part of problem, but they dont respond back, if at all. Ive only once seen same P A. Rest time its someone diffrent. None know what other PA has done, or prescribed. If you like same doctor or PA. This isnt your place. Hopefully before you deside on this location, you took time to read all other reviews. I see there are alot of 1 stars for this location. I was refered here, and i wish i took the time. Now on my next look im investigating reviews, before i ask for a new referal!

Everyone was very nice, but I didn’t have the best experience. I was a new patient due to recently having moved to the area but I have seen a dermatologist regularly for over 15 years. Before making the appointment I had stated that I was interested in going on another round of accutane and when I arrived and expressed my concerns, the NP kept avoiding the topic. I was there for about 30 minutes and had explained all of the medications I have been on and she still said “the insurance company needs to know you have a history before going on it” so I said “that’s not a problem, my dermatologist back home can fax you my records” and then she said “well you’re not a candidate”. So I left confused and with two prescriptions I have been on before that don’t work. I also stated that the retin-a I was given hurts my skin so she offered to give me a HIGHER dose which I declined. I now have to drive 2 hours back home every month to see my original dermatologist who had no issues prescribing the medication again. I’m sure they are fine for most people but if you have persistent issues that you have been dealing with I would suggest going somewhere else so that you don’t have to waste time building a new history.

This place is a production line. I see a different "doctor" every time I go and it's very rushed. I don't really get the same story about my moles every time I go. The whole feel of the place is simply a profit Center. I don't think it's too much to ask to have someone take a little time and explain things or ask if I have questions before they slice a piece of skin off my c body. I will never go back there again.

Scott colby

Very disappointed. The first appointment i had the doctor told me it was one thing, then the next month a new doctor told me it was something completely different. REFUSE TO GO BACK!!!

Ashli McCune

I have been there three times now (exam/biopsy, results, skin cancer removal) and all of the providers I have been in contact with have been very personable and kind. I have not waited more that 5 minutes in the waiting room, and have been in and out very quickly. I would not say it’s the most personal doctor’s office I have been to, but they seem to be efficient and kind. I don’t understand all of the bad reviews.

Chelsea Mims

Very rude doctor . Treated me like a child. Will be finding someone else to go to

Angela Ledesma

This place is a joke. All if the 3 times I've came in I've waited at *least* half an hour past my appointment time (which I showed up early for) to be seen. Came up to an hour this time around. Politely asked the front desk staff how much longer it should be, because I needed to be to work within the hour. They told me that they were very busy and there was nothing they can do... There was still at least a dozen people ahead of me (and that's only on my side of the room) so I left. The doctors and PAs all seem incompetent at best. They spend little to no time discussing the actual condition. Their best guess was "genetics" and said there was "nothing they could do". (Which makes me wonder why they brought me back to begin with) Absolute waste of time. Expect to spend your entire day here, if you bother scheduling an appointment...

Debasri Mukherjee

Dernatologist appointment here does not mean that you will see an MD in dermatology. They manage with PAs and NPs mostly.

Wonderful service at the desk, in and out very quickly! Dr. Lee was super nice! Great office great staff! Thank you so very much

Everyone was very friendly and professional

PA wanted to 'biopsy' a freckle on my forehead when I went in for a rash.

New to the area so it did take a little while to get a new patient appointment. Doctors have been thorough in trying to figure out what's going on. Front desk has always been very friendly and wait time is usually around 30 minutes but usually see the doctor within a short time frame after being taken back. I see a different doctor or PA each time I go. They are always up to date on my file but I'm a creature of habit and would prefer to see the same person each visit. Otherwise it's been pretty seamless.

Today, March 10, 2017, I was fully prepared to make this my last visit to the center. My experiences have been a roller coaster ride for the last couple of years. I have had a growing feeling that the center was much like a conveyor belt that mostly objectified me. Until today there has been minimal rapport established between NP's or any of the technicians. I do not believe I have ever in two years ever seen the same attendant. Today that all changed. I was fortunate enough to be treated by DR. TRAVIS MORRELL. MD. He was assisted by a HIGHLY QUALIFIED Medical Assistant, Emily. Today was the first time in several years that there was any attempt by the staff to establish any rapport. Had it not been for Dr. Morrell and Emily, my next appointment would have been somewhere else. The ONLY other time I felt some rapport between Dr. and patient at this center was with Steve Heckel, PA-C. Thanks to the professionalism and superior treatment of the above mentioned people, I will plan to continue with this center. I can also say that the ladies in the reception area have also been friendly, attentive and polite. This Dermatology Center should take GREAT EFFORT to keep Dr. Morrell, Emily and Steve employed.....when they leave, I will leave also. C. Hardy

I have to say that i am very disappointed in the service i have received at the Sturgis facility. My face has been having little break outs and its been extremely oily lately, which is not normal for me. I went to the Sturgis office to see if they could give me something to calm it down since my husband and i were having photos taken about 4 weeks out. When i called to schedule the appointment, i asked roughly how much this was going to cost me out of pocket- i was told between 100-114$ no more. So i went ahead with the appointment. While i was in the office, they told me they were going to prescribe me a topical which would help pretty quickly- so they asked if i had insurance. I let them know i did and nothing else was said about it. She wrote me a script and i took it to Walgreens that night. While checking out they told me it was $675. There was no way i was paying that for a 20 oz facial cream so i asked what else we could do. They told me i could do the off brand for $550, there was still no way i was paying that out of pocket when i have insurance. The pharmacist recommended that i call the dermatology center and ask them to contact my insurance to put a co pay on the cream- they said they would and they would follow up with me when they did so, this was on a Friday. i hadn't heard anything back and it was now Wed, so i call again to see what is going on. They said they were working on it and they would get back to me. I tried calling up there around 4 pm(they're open until 5pm) and it said they were no longer taking incoming phone calls for the last hour of the day, well i ended up getting a phone call from them at 630pm stating that they still hadn't heard anything back from my insurance company and they would again, be in touch with me. A few days go by, and i call again and asked that maybe they give me something else that wont be so costly. This time, they told me they still have not heard back from my insurance company and there is nothing else they can do for me. I asked how much i owed them and that is when they told me it was 165$. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Nothing but a run around and a waste of money.

My Review

I went in for a skin check and the doctor wanted to biopsy a spot. I had 2 other opinions before this and they both said it was nothing. The process was easy to schedule and they had me back in a week later for the Mohs surgery. I am not sure if it is normal practice, but I did not meet the doctor performing surgery until the procedure. This is the only thing I would want to change. Other than that, I encountered several staff members and they all delivered exceptional services.

Jerris Finkbeiner

Courteous, fast they do a very good job. The only negative thing is they keep you coming back.

mary isabell

I had biopsies done and tried calling SEVERAL times to get my results . I only get recordings and can not even talk to a real person . Waiting to see if I have cancer or something less serious , weighs on a persons mind . My stitches will be left in for 17 days till my next appointment . Ten days are the longest for stitches to be left in due to heavy scaring . Mine is in the scalp at two different area's . I catch them while brushing and shampooing my hair . Having them for 17 days isn't necessary . I agree with the other review - Large family pictures of the doctors kids in the halls , are out of place and not professional . Animal / Nature pictures are more appropriate . I am very disappointed in the care and the response I have received .

Gin Mur

Poor disinfection and sterilization procedures! First, they had me come in to schedule 3 additional appointments ('consult' - which I'd said I didn't want or need when I called and I assumed they were doing a procedure!), charged office visit; would not schedule two MOHS procedures on same day ("he doesn't do that" even though the OSU Cancer Center does), so three appointments for three basal cell carcinomas (and over $5,000). One of the three spots, the "new girl" didn't disenfect anything before she gave me injections (and I was watching because I thought it had happened before). I told the doctor and he said, "That's odd" and disinfected the area before he cut into my leg. No "I'm so sorry about that! I will ensure it won't happen again!" etc. Was told they discussed it at a staff meeting. Ridiculous. I shouldn't have to make sure MY MEDICAL TEAM is preventing infection. They also left it open and exposed (no gauze cover to reduce bacteria getting in the open wound) for 25 minutes waiting for sutures. I sure wouldn't take anyone elderly there! Might end up in the hospital - A friend of mine that went there ended up having a leg wound that got infected and wouldn't heal for over 8 months. You would think they would pay attention. Don't the health departments or licensing bureaus visit these places? Or insurance companies?!? Poor patient care at best.

Kieran Moseng

Nothing like being -literally- laughed about by a nurse and PA at a dermatology office, having concerns dismissed, then having a doctor who spent less than two minutes in the room with me refuse to do a biopsy because he worried about leaving a scar. I understand that I was the youngest patient in their very busy office by probably thirty years, that I now use an elaborate foreign skincare routine, and that I suffer from dermotillomania, but a little respect and human decency still goes a long way. I do have a strong family history of skin cancer, and have never had a doctor refuse to biopsy a concerning spot. Needless to say, I am furious, disappointed, and will have wasted the majority of my day for this.
