Dr. Rizzuto is one of a kind. He truly cares about his patients and will take the time to talk and not rush you through your appointment. I was suffering with watery, red eyes for over a year, seeing numerous doctors who couldn't tell me what was wrong. The second i walked into Dr. Rizzuto's office he knew right away what was going on and was able to diagnose me. I had tear duct surgery done by him and he made me feel calm and educated on everything he was doing. Very friendly and easy to talk to, I would recommend anyone looking for an ophthalmologist to see him! His office staff are very helpful too ;)

Dr. Rizzuto performed surgery on my left eye. I had a rather large sebaceous cyst growing on top of my brow bone for approximately 15 years and was afraid if removed, it would effect my eyelid, impede my ability to close my eye completely and leave a huge scar where my eyebrow existed. I am happy to report, none of those fears came to pass. If you never met me before seeing the Dr., you would never know I ever had a large growth removed from my eye. My eyebrow shape was never affected and my brow hair grew in beautifully. Dr. Rizzuto has truly gifted hands.

I have been a patient of Dr. Rizzuto’s for over 10 years, I wouldn’t let anyone but him treat my crows feet and “elevens” with botox. Getting a needle in ones face is never fun, but he and his staff are eyelid and face experts. They never try to sell you anything, but offer options and let you make your own decisions. Dr. Rizzuto does all the injections, He is kind gentle and most importantly precise. My eyes are open, bright, and the wrinkles I had are gone. Truly, I look like myself, only younger. Great doctor, very nice, very professional. I had surgery on my right upper eyelid. Dr. Rizzuto had to remove a piece of my eyelid and I had sutures for 2 weeks. The surgery was fast and I didn't feel thing. I just got my sutures removed and everything looks great.

Staff is horrible. Made appointment for surgery on the 19 of June in April. Explained the day it was set that it's hard for me to take time off .I get a call two days before June 19 that my surgery is the 18. I called Michele who is responsible for this appointment and she said in vain it was never the 19. So I believed her and rechuled another date for surgery I checked the papers I still kept from April they gave me for surgery and documented in two forms the date was the 19 Called her back to ask why and attitude from Michele was not my problem basically but sorry. l have never written a review but feel compelled to write one, b/c of my negative experience. I found that this was one of the worst medical experiences I have had. The office staff, while friendly, were very incompetent, with issues ranging from booking my surgery at a site that would have a huge copay (his other site did not ; rescheduling delayed my surgery by another month) to cancelling appointments at the last minute while I was literally waiting in the office. Worst of all, Dr Rizzuto never informed me that I was positive for an infection, discovered from labs during surgery, and I never received a letter or call of any kind from the office. Not only that, when I called in myself to find out the results, I was informed that it was negative (when it was positive) by the office staff, so I never received the appropriate treatment. To top it all off, when I asked them for a copy of the results the secretary told me to call her back the next day and remind her. Overall Dr Rizzuto did not make me feel that he took my care seriously and his comments made me feel that he did not recall certain aspects of my care because they were often contradictory and tended to minimize my concerns. The surgery itself was fine, but I will be seeking another opthamologist in the future and I hope this helps someone considering treatment.

I read all the glowing reviews before my appointment and went in feeling great about seeing Dr. Rizzuto. I've got an upper eyelid that's turning in, my eye doctor had said it was a simple matter of fixing so it'll turn back up and very straightforward. Dr. Rizzuto looked at my eyelid, said that he would raise the lid so the lashes would stick straight out and then I could "trim them" and that's the best I could get. When I expressed concern about my appearance, asking if it would make my eyes look lopsided, he assured me that it would and that the one he operated on would be "like this" and held his eyelid up and back and acted like that was OK. He didn't spend more than ten minutes with me before shuffling me off to schedule the surgery. I cried all the way to work and didn't know what to do. I'm going to see someone else for a second opinion. Even if this was truly the best that could be done, it would have been nice to deal with someone who seemed like they cared at all what it would do to my appearance.

This doctor could teach a lesson In "bedside manners". He walked into the examining room with a big smile and a great "Hello, I am Phil, what can I do for you today? " Wow! Talk about relaxing you! He was patient, thorough, asked questions, asked me if I had any questions and then discussed what he felt was the best and perhaps the only solution for me to my malady. If previous doctors had emphasized the limited options to this problem for me, it would have saved me many hours and appointments over the last 7 years. I have chosen to have the cataract removed followed by an eye-lid tuck surgery in that order. No wonder he has a 5-star rating. I asked him why he was sooo happy and he said "He loves his work and when the day comes that he doesn't that will be the day he retires". May he be happy forever! There is only 1 word to describe my experience with Dr Rizzuto and that is: OUTSTANDING! I was referred to his office by my retina and cataract specialists who advised that Dr Rizzuto was the "BEST" individual to address my issue and they were correct. I had a lesion on my right eye (lash line area) that continued to resurface for more than a year. From the moment I sat in Dr Rizzuto's office, he had the utmost concern for my case by explaining the surgical procedure that was required to correct the problem (as I am high risk patient). And due to the nature of my medical history, he was kind enough to expedite my surgical date within one week of my initial eval before any complications redeveloped again. My procedure went extremely well; as I sensed no discomfort during surgery or experienced any post-op difficulties. I highly recommend this physician for his expertise and compassion; as he treats every patient as a person and not a number.
