Dr. Johnson and her team are just amazing! Everyone is warm, friendly, helpful, and very good at what they do. They really listen, which is rare these days. I postponed necessary breast reduction for years, but when I met Dr. Johnson and her team my fears were diminished. No surgery is "easy" of course. It was a good six weeks before I really felt better, so it's important to listen to all the instructions and give yourself a solid 4 weeks before planning anything. Also, if given the choice, choose Mercy hospital. A truly amazing bunch of caregivers there. I'm thrilled with my results, and my only regret was that I waited so long!

I got FTM top surgery (double incision) from Dr. Johnson three weeks ago and I am very pleased with the results. She and her staff are very friendly, competent, communicative, and helpful. They took care of all insurance concerns for me. Irene, the scheduler for the surgery, made an extra effort to make sure my surgery happened before I got kicked off my parents insurance and I am very grateful to her for that. Dr. Johnson's work is clean, recovery is going very well. I would definitely recommend her for this procedure. For transgender patients I would add the caveat that Dr. Johnson and her office are definitely trans-informed, but not trans-competent. There was some confusion around preferred names/pronouns, but overall everyone was very eager to be as affirming as possible.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Johnson, Christina, Irene, and the rest of their staff. They are highly skilled, compassionate, and take good care of the trans* community. They work with insurance to make that part seamless, are flexible with making appointments, and always available to answer questions. The staff and facilities they work with at Bay State are fantastic as well. I'm so grateful to have found their practice, and have been widely recommending them to everyone. Extraordinary.
