I had been referred to this office by a friend who had recently been there for the first time and was very impressed. I have to say that I agree with her 100%. My first impression of the office was that it was clean, quiet and inviting. The women at the front desk were cheerful and seemed very happy to be working there. I was kept waiting quite a bit, more than 30 minutes, which concerned me at first, since I was the only patient in the reception area. However, I soon forgot all of that after meeting Dr. Papel. His knowledge and quiet demeanor was such that I had immediate confidence in all that he proposed for my treatment. Following my exam, Kristy set up the dates for my pre-op, surgery and post-op, very considerate of my schedules. She was cheerful and knowledgeable. As I left the office, all of the women at the front desk said goodbye to me. I don't usually experience that when I leave a medical office where there are a number of women at the front desk. I would definitely recommend this office and Dr. Papel in the future.

Dr. Kontis is so down to earth and knowledgeable. She won't upsell you just for money. She will genuinely do her best to give you the results your looking for. Her assistant is also realllly nice. Stop looking, a consultation will lock you in if your still unsure. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Papel performed my rhinoplasty, which consisted of shaving my bridge down, refining the tip, cutting small muscles that made it turn down when I smiled and addressing a crooked septum and swollen turbinates. He also performed platysmaplasty with chin/jawline liposuction. I didn’t want a drastic change; however, I had finally had it with my long, humped nose and undefined jawline….no matter how thin I was. From my first meeting with Dr. Papel, I felt at ease. His bedside manner is unparalleled, as he spent over an hour speaking with me and explaining which procedures he believed would address my concerns. He took photographs of me and was able to generate images of the expected results (not exact, of course), which he showed me at a second meeting. After much research and discussions with friends, who are in the medical field and familiar with the Baltimore area plastic surgeons, I decided to go with Dr. Papel. On the day of the surgery, the doctor took time, again, to review the procedures he was performing. I then met with the anesthesiologist and was taken into the surgical area. The entire surgical staff was kind and made feel completely comfortable. My recovery went as explained/expected and now I have a beautiful nose that suits my face and an amazing jawline! It has been a little over three months since my surgery and I had another follow-up today with Dr. Papel. The healing is going as expected and I couldn’t be happier. I should also mention that the office staff is always friendly and a delight to interact with. I highly recommend Dr. Papel and will be returning to him for any future procedures. I have also recommended him to family and friends.

I never write reviews for anyone; however, Dr. Papel is amazing! I broke my nose and went to see Dr Papel for a consult. I was pretty nervous and scared but he and his staff really made me feel like I would be okay. Because I broke my nose, Dr. Papel explained that I had to correct it immediately so that the bones that were broken would not fuse together (my understanding of his explaination). My nose was completely shifted to the left and it was in bad shape. He then worked with his staff to schedule my procedure immediately for the following week. He didn't brush me off and he did not deny me because they were really busy ( I did experience that while I was calling around for consults). He is just a really good guy. I have to say that I am not into cosmetic surgery (but after working with Dr. Papel, I am more of a fan) but Dr. Papel did a great job!! He did three procedures flawlessly- septoplasty, turbinate reduction, and deviated septum. The recovery was tough but bearable. I lived with my saline drops and kept it clean, as instructed. A week post op and I can breathe better than I ever did before (they expected congestion but I think I got lucky). I am excited to be able to breathe without sinus issues too!!! Not to mention my nose! It looks awesome and it is so straight. He really takes time with his patients and explains everything and answers questions. I love Dr. Papel and would recommend him to anyone. I am lucky I found his practice.

I had rhinoplasty a few years ago at another practice in hopes to not only fix my deviated septum but to also make it look better. Fast forward 5 years later and neither of those things had been corrected to my liking. I found Dr. Papel by doing a simple google search for plastic surgeons who specialized in revision rhinoplasty. My consultation went better than imagined. I was really more concerned with the way my nose looked and he took the time to tell me that there was more internal issues than I even knew about and that was awesome to me. He really cared that I could breathe as best as I could. The fact that he could fix the way it looked cosmetically was just an added plus! I am so happy that I found him!! I am only one week post-op but I couldn't be happier with my experience so far. Not only is Dr. Papel friendly and personable but he was so knowledgeable and really took the time to make sure I got the best results possible. I would highly recommend Dr. Papel and his awesome staff! I am looking forward to being able to breathe and look my best self :)

Dr. Papel is awesome and does awesome work. I do have to say that is office staff leaves something to be desired though. After my surgery to repair a deviated septum, turbinate reduction and nasal valve repair I had tubes in my nose for a while that were VERY annoying and uncomfortable. I couldn’t wait to get them out. I was on my way to the office on my scheduled day and I got a call from a desk clerk to complain that I had missed my appointment. She said I was supposed to be there at 2:30. I had the card in front of me that they wrote that said 3:30. I even pulled up the text message from the night before that they sent asking me to reply to confirm I would be there at 3:30. The clerk said they had 2:30 in his book and that’s what mattered so I’d have to reschedule for 2 days later. I was livid but I turned around and started to go home. I got a call about 15 min later saying that Dr. Papel heard about what happened and cancelled his meeting so he could see me. I had to turn back around and drive through really bad traffic because 695 had gotten shut down for a funeral procession right as I got there. If I hadn’t turned around and had been on time I wouldn’t have run into that. I finally got there and Dr. Papel was nice as always and did great work and I felt much better. For some reason, even though they were supposed to pre-authorize the whole thing as a medical necessity, they then didn’t send the bill to my insurance for almost 3 weeks after the procedure. I had set aside money in my FSA specifically to pay the co-pay and I explained that it was expiring shortly after the start of the year. They dragged their feet on the submission though. Then when insurance requested medical records the billing office claimed they never got that and said they send the records electronically through “their system”. They ended up physically mainlining them instead. Their billing office is always very grouchy when I call to try to figure out what’s going on and make sure they’re actually responding to the insurance like they should. Dr. Papel’s work is great, but his office staff is rude and only barely competent so I have to knock of some stars for the practice as a whole. He's 5 stars but his staff is 1 star or worse.

Dr. Ira Papel is wonderful I’ve had a few procedures done with his office, and he’s been very patient and honest bout the procedures and results. During my surgery Dr. Chien was my anesthesiologist, and Kitsie was the RN. They made my experience less stressful and made me very comfortable. I was so scared to have the surgery but Dr. Chien and Kitsie made it much better! His staff is super pleasant, Magenta is always friendly and beyond helpful whenever I call in to make appointments or have questions. Love his office and would highly recommend it.
