For a long time, I have avoided asking my mirror... “mirror, mirror who is prettier than I?”. I was afraid of the answer. I absolutely had no self-confidence that my mirror was going to be able to identify any beauty on me. By age 46 I had the privilege to become a mother. Motherhood was a such blessing for my soul and a huge sacrifice for my body. My high risk pregnancy and a C-session made my belly look ugly and VERY undesirable. My face was full of wrinkles and looked 10 years older! My stomach after pregnancy never looked flat and even after 2 years post pregnancy my belly had a similar size to what it was while I was pregnant. It affected my self esteem and made me depressed. After 2 years of much struggle I had an appointment with DR James Edward Chapell. Then, he explained to me that I had Diastasis Recti which is the muscle separation of my abs. For this reason it had a hard time coming back together, it caused me a pooch in my stomach and it looked similar to a hernia. I absolutely hated my body! After Dr Chappell’s diagnosis I felt motivated to do the tummy tuck surgery and I also decided to see Dr Bryan Ambro to explore the possibility to have facelift surgery. I just felt confident and willing for the first time to treat myself as priority. Now, one year later I see myself writing this evaluation because I want the world to know how happy I am with my decision. There is no regret. Dr Chapell and Dr Ambro have changed my life and they gave me back my self confidence and self esteem! I am no longer afraid to have a conversation with my mirror! And, the best of it my mirror would never lie! I am 51 years old. Honestly, I look much younger now. I can confidently say that I am an attractive lady. And, I could not achieve this results without this great clinical team. I want to motivate ALL ladies reading my testimony to invest in themselves. It was the best decision I had done in my whole life! Words can’t describe my gratitude to this great team: Dr Chapell, Dr. Ambro, Kim (permanent make-up specialist). All the staff at Annapolis Plastic Surgery are absolutely wonderful people there are amazing professionals. You will feel cared for all the way. When you make the choice to have them as your caring professional team, there is no way you can be disappointed. They have changed my life and gave back to my face a confident smile. I have been a patient of Dr. Ambro for a few years and have had multiple procedures performed in his office including laser skin resurfacing, Botox, filler and a facelift. Dr. Ambro is an amazing doctor who helped restore confidence in my appearance. He spends considerable time with all his patients explaining all the options in great detail. Talk about getting a load off my chest, it is now gone thanks to Dr. Chappell and his wonderful team. Being 4' 10" with a DDD to E cup as well the bras I needed to support my large breasts exasperated my back, shoulder and reflux issues. I was desperate for relief, and after consulting with 4 different plastic surgeons, I made a well informed and researched decision to go with Dr. Chappell. He understood from the start, that this was not about cosmetic appearances but about pain relief which I am already enjoying but he also gave me the most lovely, perky size B/C breasts I could of ever had hoped for. Because I am only 8 days out of surgery, there is still some expected swelling so we won't know the final results for probably 2 more weeks to a month but they feel and look just fine to me now. The pressure on my shoulders from the bra straps is gone even though I've been in a bra 24/7 since surgery. I went into surgery with horrible back pain which raised my blood pressure ,which lnturn, gave me a terrible headache all because I had to go off my prescription anti-inflammatory back meds a week before surgery. When I arrived for surgery, I was in such sorry shape that the concerned receptionist, wonderful pre-op/post-op nurse and vigilant anesthesiologist asked me if I wanted to reschedule. All I could think of was put that IV in me and put me out of my misery... and it worked. When I woke up, I was pain free and felt wonderful. I can honestly say I have not experienced anything close to pain since the surgery anywhere in my body, including of course my chest. At no time during the past week did I even come close to needing pain meds. Be advised I do have a high pain threshhold. I received a call from Dr. Chappell later that afternoon to ask how I was doing and if I had any questions. During the first 4 days after surgery, when a question would arise, I would call the office and speak to one of the warm and caring front desk staff who would quickly check with the doctor and come back with a clear and concise response. I called numerous times with questions/concerns and did a number of pop-ins leading up to the surgery but no one in that office ever made me feel like I was a bother. Communication is so important and Dr. Chappell and his team get an A+ for this, interpersonal skills, professionalsim but above all, surgical knowledge, experience and expertise. I've got the breasts to prove it.

I have had the extraordinary opportunity to work alongside Dr. Ambro and Dr. Chappell for nearly two months as I finalized my studies as a physician assistant. From the moment I entered the premises, I was welcomed with warm smiles and open arms, this is not always the case as a student in a new environment. The office is immaculate and the staff is well trained and very capable. Dr. Ambro has an unparalleled bedside manner with his patients and it is evident that he is adored and revered by his peers, staff, and patients alike. His attention to detail is uncanny. Dr. Chappell is an integral part of the team and focuses on breast augmentation and reconstruction, as well as, body contouring and minimally invasive body sculpting among other procedures. As a student observing many consults and interactions with patients, I was very impressed with Dr. Chappell’s ability to navigate sensitive subjects. He spends adequate time with each patient addressing each unique concern and makes a stressful experience a very pleasurable one. It is not always easy to converse about ones “defects”, yet he does so gracefully and with humility. Dr. Chappell is very amicable and went out of his way to welcome me and make me feel as though I was part of the team. I have met students with whom he has worked and my experience was echoed. On a final note, I was very impressed with Dr. Chappell’s drive to learn new information. His desk was filled with articles, journals, and notes about new procedures and new developments in his field of medicine. He is well informed and stays ahead of the times. He will not disappoint! With regards to the other team members, Le Ann is a very skilled provider who has mastered patient interaction and satisfaction. She navigates BBL and CoolSculpting among other services with expertise and care and is a valuable member of the Annapolis Plastic Surgery team. Above all, she has a wonderful personality and will surely brighten your day. Kristen, the office MA is a beautiful and talented individual that brings a sense of calm to this busy practice. She always goes the extra mile to make patients feel at ease and is very attentive to the needs of the team. She is an invaluable asset to this office. Michelle works tirelessly to provide patients with the best possible experience in compiling all of the necessary documents and preparing for surgery. She is always available to patients to discuss treatment option pricing and facilitate the process leading to surgery. Last, but not least, Kim, the teams licensed medical aesthetician and certified permanent makeup specialist brings unique offerings to this practice. She has a calm and collected personality and makes patients feel at ease when discussing different treatment modalities. She can facilitate the process of choosing what is “right” for each patient’s individual skincare needs and does so without pressuring them. Her expertise in permanent makeup is evidenced by her high patient satisfaction and attention to detail. This review was not solicited.

As a first time plastic surgery recipient, i could not be happier with my results. I am a mother of 2 beautiful children who was in desperate need of a breast reduction. I made the initial consult with Dr. Chappell and i couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. His front desk staff were very courteous and professional, while accommodating to my schedule. The office was very welcoming and extremely clean! Dr. Chappell was in no rush to answer any questions or concerns to my big decision. His bedside manner was always professional and reassuring. I had three rhinoplasty operations over the years, but still had some issues with the left nostril. Dr. Ambro was patient and through. He checked out the operative report on the last surgery, analyzed what the issue was, and then offered up what could be done. Note that he didn't RECOMMEND what should be done, but gave possible solutions to my issue. He also gave a realistic prognosis of the outcome of several procedures. Once I had agreed to a course of action, we set a surgery date. Dr. Ambro's staff was great in setting up the admission dates at the hospital, making sure I was aware of the pre op requirements, etc. The day of the surgery went off without a hitch. Dr. Ambro was clear about what he was about to do, and what I would probably experience after the surgery. The operation was a complete success! Follow ups have given me a chance to query Dr. Ambro on the healing status of the tissue and cartilage, etc. I would highly recommend Annapolis Facial Plastic Surgery.

In February 2015, I had extensive MOHS surgery by a dermatologist on my nose to remove a basel cell cancerous growth. The surgery removed the better part of the right side of my nose. Faced with rebuilding the cartilage and tissue , let alone the obvious aesthetic concerns, Dr. Ambro worked with me to create a near perfect reconstruction. One year later, it is very hard to discern where the surgery occurred. Dr. Ambro's extensive experience as a plastic surgeon in the U of MD. Shock Trauma Center has given him the ability to work with all kinds of facial issues. I am forever grateful to him for his great skill and gentleness in treating me and getting me back to normal.

Wow! What can I can!!! I am so happy to have come across Dr. Ambro for my lip reconstructive surgery. I searched for a long time to find the right surgeon to work on my lip...that's why I am here to give this review. I chose Dr. Ambro based on other reviews of plastic surgeons. I had suffer from thick scar tissue in the left lower lip for 24 years after a domestic abuse which led to a split lip of 7 stiches. I didn't think there were options for me to ever feel good about my lip and how I look with an uneven lower lip. When I met Dr. Ambro early Oct. 2017, he gave me hope and on Nov. 1st 2017 operated on my lip. Dr. Ambro took a 69 year old woman and turned her into a 55 year old woman via one deep laser treatment. I spent my entire life baking in the sun with no sunscreen in Florida and on boats which caused deep wrinkles to form in my cheeks. I still work and was mortified to sit in meetings with younger people. I no longer feel old. My face now matches my mind set and body. I turned 70 a few months after the procedure was done but I know that no one would guess my age now as being 70. Dr. Ambro and his staff was a joy to work with through the entire process. They give you a bag with all of the stuff that you will need post -surgery so that part is taken care of. Afterwards, he gives you face creams that he picks out based on what you need. The recovery was remarkably free of pain and did not take that long. I stayed home from work for 8 work days mainly because your skin will peel for several days. While I did not look fabulous when I returned to work, it was doable. Dr. Ambro also gave me make up to use. I highly recommend Dr. Ambro and his practice if you are looking for deep laser to reverse the aging process.

I hope you take the time to read this as I am way overdue in writing a review. This review has 2 parts. Part 1 is myself, part 2 is my 15 year old daughter. I met Dr. Ambro just shy of 6 years ago. i had an Acoustic Neuroma removed by the ENT group that Dr. Ambro was a part of at the University of Maryland Medical Center. I was referred to Dr. Ambro for my facial paralysis. Right away he made me feel comfortable and confident in the treatment he recommended for my facial issues. Dr. Ambro surgically placed a gold weight in my eyelid to help close my eye in the hopes that my blink would return as well as look cosmetically symetric. Just to be clear, it worked. I also had other treatments of Botox to even things out as well. As a woman, wife, mother of 3, and a long time Hair Stylist, my appearance is very important to me. i grew up very confident with a high self esteem. the aftermath of my surgery and the paralysis was devistating. Dr Ambro gave me hope and reassurance as well as regaining my confidence back. Now for my daughter. Shes a sophomore this year in high school, she plays basketball, varsity softball, and manages the football team. She broke her nose when she was little. As she went through adolescence and the rest of her developed, well so did her nose. The bone pertruded to one side which created a deep curve down and hooked the septum. She became very self conscience about it, lowered her self esteem and confidence in everything she did, not to mention how cruel people can be. We talked about having it fixed but were not in a position to do so UNTIL we were up for new health insurance. I looked up Dr. Ambro because he is the only one I would trust this situation to. Let me tell you the lengths I went to. We orchestrated our entire insurance plan around Dr. Ambro because in my mind, there is no one else. We are now 6 weeks post Rhinoplasty and couldn"t be happier. Lets start with the fact that my daughter can breath normally. Dr Ambro did not sugar coat how bad her case was. He straightened the bone and rebuilt the cartilage along with her septum. Amazing work and the bottom line is there is no one else i trust more. we go back in November for her 3 month post-op. I"m sure he will post her before and afters. Enjoy as I am so happy to share in this success story.

Dr Ambro did the necessary reconstructive facial surgery after the removal of a basal cell carcinoma on my face, near my eye. During our pre-surgery meeting he was very understanding and explained in detail the entire procedure. The day of the surgery I went to the nearby surgery center and was cared for by a number of extremely compassionate and sensitive nurses. The anesthesiologist, as well as Dr. Ambro , again spent time with me explaining everything. I could not have had better care anywhere. The excellent care continued when I returned for my follow-up visits after the surgery. All of my questions were always answered completely and kindly.

If you're looking for the best person for botox, Dr. Ambro is it! I recently had a consultation with him, followed by botox for my forehead and around my eyes. Not only did he fix the wrinkles on my forehead that seemed to be leaving permanent lines, but he also "lifted" my eyebrows into a perfectly arched shape (which I wasn't aware botox could do). He was able to suggest things to me that I hadn't even thought could be fixed, in a gentle and non-offensive manner. I was worried about looking "fake" after botox without appropriate facial expressions, but the look that Dr. Ambro created is absolutely perfect, natural-appearing and puts my facial appearance back into my 20s!

I am a patient of Dr. Ambro and I recently had a major Rhinoplasty procedure. I broke my nose when i was very young and got made fun of in Middle School for it. It has always been my highest insecurity. I am currently 15 years old. I had my surgery 1 month ago. My septum was hooked in my right nostril and i broke the bone which caused it to pertrude to the side of my nose. It was so deep that i could not breathe out of my nose. Dr. Ambro is a very personable person. He was so nice during my first consultation. From there I scheduled my surgery date. Naturally, I was nervous. My eyes were only swollen for a week. I went back to get my cast and tubes removed. Dr. Ambro was very gentle. Overall, there is no one else i would trust more than Dr. Ambro to work on my facial plastic needs.
