At the moment the firm gets a score of 4.3 out of 5 and that score is based on 493 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is quite positive, and it is founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the rating is very faithful. If many people have bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Plastic Surgery is classified in the category of Children\'s hospital.
If you have a major medical situation i think this is probably your only option, however otherwise stay away! Its basically the free health clinic with pretty colors at the primary care offices. For a basic appointment its a minimum of a 3 hour turn around time, often more. You cant even schedule appointments they are booked so far out and its always with a different doctor. .
I talked to a very kind woman on the phone about a stomach pain I was enduring. She insisted I then would have my parents bring me to the emergency room. When a doctor finally saw me, they didn't run any tests they just poked my stomach, said "it could be an ulcer" then gave me antacids then sent me home. I then continued to endure those stomach pains for 3 years, come to find out that my stomach was full of gallstone, I was enduring flare ups, and my gallbladder was about to rupture. Thanks.
Quite honestly I wish they had a Children's Mercy hospital in every state! The care I received here was fantastic. I had a Pectus Excavatum surgery here by Dr. St. Peter in July 2019 and the surgery was definitely rough and somewhat painful but the team of nurses and doctors here helped me through it. In 3 years I will come back to this hospital to have the bar removed and I'm looking forward to getting the awesome care I got the first time once again.
I love this hospital. The doctors, nurses, and all the other specialists at children's Mercy are the best. Wouldn't trust any others with my kids health needs. All of my 3 kids have been treated here.at one point
World class organization and hospital. They made my son feel right at home when we had to bring him in with a pretty severe flu. The staff, nurses and doctor were so friendly and made us feel right at home. I recommend this as a great place to work or if you have a sick child. They are cutting edge and do so much great things for the entire Kansas City metro area. Thank you Children's Mercy for all the amazing work that you do. So appreciate it! Thanks!!!
Today we waited for 2 hours to see a Dr. I don't know if that's horrible in the middle of winter, I just thought they would do better than that. Other days they are quick and excellent
My son was referred to Children's Mercy from a local hospital that was not comfortable treating his needs. The staff, doctors were all AMAZING!! While we were in my oldest sons emergency surgery consult a nurse took my younger son aside and played "I spy" with him so we could hear what the surgeon was saying about our older sons surgery. This place goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to take care of children!! AMAZING!!!
We have been going here since my kids where babies
Great place great organization. Parking can be confusing. If you get lost ask security for help
They do a very good job of making kids comfortable during stressful events. I would recommend this clinic to family and friends
My son has a big cut on his forehead. We have been waiting in the waiting room for over an hour. Then they give us a room Waiting another 1:40min and the doctor still not show up yet Bad experiences in the past but come again because it was closer to my house. I dont know when they can improve it. Waiting is forever If u do not want to wait in long line Do NOT Come here
Very caring staff, & beautifully decorated . Best children's hospital with very smart & knowledgeable professional staff!!
Never take your child here. There isnt a competent person that works in this chain of hospitals. 1. The doctors can never be anywhere near on time for an appointment. Expect to wait 2-3 hours AFTER your appointment time to see anyone. Thats been the norm for us. Its completely ridiculous. 2. They lost our daughters ultrasound for her heart after traumatizing her to get it. After fighting with them for 2 weeks to find the ultrasound, they eventually just lied to us and said it came back normal. But they refused to provide any documentation to back it up. I suspect this is illegal, and the nurses and doctors should be fired and prosecuted for fraud. But of course, no one can tell us the names of those responsible. 3. For a sore throat one time, they decided to give our daughter hydrocodone without our permission. And then tried to send us home with a prescription for it. I dont condone use of oxy or hydro for adults and I certainly dont condone the use of opiates for a sore throat in a toddler. Again, this should be illegal and someone should be held responsible. 4. In more recent events, they cant seem to get our prescription for our daughter for much needed medication. We are on day 5 now, and the hospital is claiming they accepted it while the pharmacy is claiming they are rejecting it. If the ghetto nurses had any sort of education in how to do their job, alot of this could probably be avoided. 5. Our daughter was throwing up and had a fever. We took her in. 6 hours later they decided to do a UA and told us they would have the results in 30 mins. 2 hours afrer the 30 mins had passed, after harrassing them over and over they eventually just told us theres nothing wrong with her and sent us home with no explaination of anything after 8 hours. Nobody did their job that day. We spent the majority of that 8 hours in a room by ourselves while all the nurses and doctors browsed facebook at their desk and talked and had a good ol time. Must be nice to get paid to do nothing. If this hospital is ever recommended to you, and you actually care about your child, your better off going to another state. You wont find any competent doctors or nurses in any of their locations. I have been fighting with this hospital for 2 years now. Luckily we are moving on the other side of the country and will soon no longer have to deal with them.
After going to another Dentist, we decided to get a second opinion before putting my child under general anesthesia to pull several teeth. We went to Children's Mercy and after the first visit couldn't be happier with the way things turned out. We were told that he didn't need all that work and done and looked at the x-rays and came up with a game plan. We were scheduled 2 weeks later and it was a breeze! I believe we saw Dr. Torbin. He was absolutely phenomenal with my kiddo, who was very unsure about getting a few fillings, a crown, and a tooth pulled all in the same day. He made my kiddo feel right at home and took the pressure off with lots of jokes and silliness. He talked him through the whole procedure and got it done in record time. Not a tear was shed at either appointment!! Thank you so much!
Children’s mercy is the best children’s hospital in the county. The staff is friendly, the quality of care is off the charts in perfection of quality, and my son is at full health! Thank you for all you did to care for my son.
Amazing and friendly people. Props to the people in valet parking, so helpful to those with the stress and anxiety of parking.
It's a wonderful place for children's needs
Very Caring for the patients no matter what the problem may be
Irritated, upset and not very pleased! My grand-daughter was scheduled for open heart surgery to repair a birth defect valve. The day before her scheduled surgery (Nov 14, 2017), the staff notifies the her Mother that she has been postponed to a later date, (Dec7) Tentatively???? Excuse me? I understand a life may be saved through an emergency service to another patient, and I am grateful for the technology , knowledge and fortitude of those involved to do so, after all it might be your or my child in need. However, to reschedule on such short notice for an undetermined period is simply unacceptable. This young child whom is all prepared and ready to go into a life changing surgery has multiple family members in town from out of state, parents grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends all coming to HER side to show the love and support for her. School , work and other schedules by multiple people all rearranged. Some of which will not be able to return for the December timeframe. I can't begin to express the level of inconvenience this has caused. I would be ok if the reschedule was one day, but a month and tentative? Please feel free to reach out to me, I am having a hard time understanding this lack of concern for all those involved.
Friendly staff.
I came here to get my tonsils out and the staff are some of the nicest people in the area.
The staff is knowledgeable and explains everything they are doing
I spend what seems like a lot of time here and have history with multiple clinics here all the positive experience out weigh the few bad moments I've encountered
Wonderful staff, nurses, doctors. I had heard how wonderful of a hospital it was but never knew that it could be so much more. Thank you for all you have done for my son.
It is 100% about The Children
I love this hospital. The doctors, nurses, and all the other specialists at children's Mercy are the best. Wouldn't trust any others with my kids health needs. All of my 3 kids have been treated here.at one point
Good place
Wonderful care for my son. Comfortable rooms and polite staff, except for our nurse today. She has to lose her ugly persona when working with children and parents going through difficult times.
Absolutely superb care! From the ER staff and security that went above and beyond...so patient and kind! to the nurses on 2 Henson...the last place we expected to be or wanted to be on a trip to KC. They made our hospital stay so comfortable and delivered impeccable care to my son. We didn't have to ask or want for anything and we were discharged quickly and efficiently. Huge shoutout to our main RN, Jillian! What a gem:) We will forever be grateful to Dr Andrews for a flawless surgery! Thank you!!!! Xoxo
Even though we were referred to the orthopedics department here by the Children's Mercy in Independence and were told we would get a next-day appoint, they said they couldn't schedule us for two weeks. After I explained the situation and my child's condition, they said they could schedule us the next morning. Hours later, as the nurse's shift was ending she left me a voicemail saying they cancelled our appointment and we should just try to follow up with our GP. I called back immediately and was told that nurse's line was no longer taking messages. We weren't referred here just for fun or just because we felt like it. We were referred here because during our visit at Children's Mercy in Independence they knew my child needed someone specialized in orthopedics to take a look at her. So to be blown off and told to "just see your GP" is unacceptable! I will NEVER use the services here and will make sure no one I know does either. I'll be finding an orthopedic doctor who takes medical conditions seriously and who employs a professional staff
I’ve been there as a child and I’m sure it was great. I am older now and I now a transman, this is the place I was suppose to see a doctor about HRT last month until a form was changed, now my appointment with a doctor is in March. I’ve jumped through so many hoops to start HRT, I’ve done all the waiting all to be told no you have to wait because of some reason. All of this pains me and it upsets me even more. I didn’t think it would be such a hassle to see a doctor for this but apparently it is. I get it before you guys had a long line of people and very few doctors. Now I don’t get it, I don’t remember the reason of why everything was pushed back into March but what I do know is that I don’t see a reason why it needs to. I’ve got the letter, and everything was fine up until this point so there should be no issues.
I Have a Medical disease called OI And Childrens Mercy is The best childrens hospital in kansas An Mossori I can tell you tthe doctors are amazing I wouldnt go anywhere else!
The Doctors are inviting. The building is inviting. The pleasant but calming tone of the building makes it perfect for a child who has never been to the doctors. I love how they decorated the place. The doctors are also upbeat and are trained to look their best to not bring distress to the family and child when something serious occurs. They explain things that are hard for kids to understand gently and easily. They truly care at CHM
2 brain surgeries from brain cancer they're great. Even though I had a stroke and was paralyzed from the right down. I love this hospital and wish they would take me as an adult
I have been going to this hospital for the last year and a half now and haven't gotten any answers on my condition. The doctors have bouncing me from office to office and haven't been giving me any answers. All they have been doing is taking the money from my parents for their own good at the hopsital without helping me. I'm really irrated with your office and the service has provided for me.
All the nurses or joke they talk about the problems that people are experiencing with their kids out loud and make fun of them. Very unprofessional. The supervisor is a person that has no business there
Wonderful staff they’re very good with children that’s noncompliant I appreciate the nurses and doctors.
Excellent hospital
Dr. Pacicca is very humble. She is THE master of her craft, yet continues to strive for higher ideals. Very lucky to receive her services in conjunction with Children's Mercy Hospital and the long term plans for increased bone density for our future NBA star!
Great hospitals and doctors, keep up the good work : )
It's a great hospital
the worst Er hospital ever I seen I was there with my daughter and I have not seen doctor 4 6 hours
Is your little one sick? Then you've definitely come to the right place! The staff at Children's Mercy Hospital will treat your child with love, respect, and do so in a soothing, light-hearted manner to put your precious child at ease. No one knows kids better than Children's Mercy.
They do amazing things here
We have had nothing but the best care. Everyone, from front desk workers to all of the medical staff are invested in caring not just for the kids, but the families too. Entire teams are dedicated to providing the care that is in the best interest of the kids. The teams are knowledgeable, and also consult extensively, to be sure they are providing top-notch care.
Don't bring your child here for long term stay. They take children!
Great children's hospital in k.c. mo they really care for children extremely well
Children's Mercy is the best Children's Hospital in the Midwest. My son was born at 26 weeks and I have made all of his appointments at CMH. I have visited PT/OT, Hanger, Urgent care, ENT, Speech, ophthalmologist, audiologist, Neurology, and home care without a single issue.
Such a courteous and helpful environment
Always good for the kiddos when its absolutely needed.
Top notch facility and personnel. Couldn't ask for better care. Even with ongoing construction navigating the hospital grounds was a breeze. Kudos to faculty and staff.
Thank you so much for saving my life back in '09, without the treatment you guys offered who knows what might have happened, thanks to all the nurses and the doctors, i can still walk.
Save yourself and your bank account. Go elsewhere.
The medical services are above board. The cleanliness however was lacking.
We drive about 3 hours one way to visit this hospital. They are exceptionally good with children.
My friend came here with his baby boy and he did cpr on his baby because he stopped breathing and accidentally broke some ribs and they turned him in for child abuse when all he was trying to do was save the baby’s life.
I just spoke to a representative on the phone. If you get Jill, you know what customer service is. I had a lot of questions and she remained very kind and patient. Their hospitals are always very clean and it's heartwarming how the staff helps their patients.
My son was here 8 years ago, and my nephew is here today - so happy with the service and care.
The staff are amazing. The care my children receive is one of a kind.
Staff was kind and friendly. Environment was visually fun and vibrant with gorgeous architecture and artistic installations. So impressed with the attention to detail as if each decision was made from the perspective of a child. Makes you wonder why all hospitals aren't like this. Thanks for allowing me to serve you as Google Trusted Photographer!
The hospital is a wonderful hospital , helpful nurses and staff. Clean environment. But I was not pleased with a particular ER NP She was very sarcastic ,very rude the whole time we we're there she talked to us as if we we're ignorant As we explained what was wrong and how we do things at home. As a DR or a NP no matter how you feel you should not have an attitude on how a parent does there own thing. Your here to help our children not to critize how we do things or how we are as parents.
I went here myself as a teenager and stayed for months at a time. They always made it feel like home and took care of me when my parents had to work. They helped me through a difficult time in my life. Our 3 year old son has been going to CMH for Cystic Fibrosis. Dr. Carver and the staff at the clinic are so wonderful. You would think kids hate hospitals but not this hospital. It is a kid friendly environment with helpful people everywhere. Our son gets excited when it's time to go there. We are so lucky to have such a great hospital with some of the best doctors take care of our son!
We take advantage of all the services CMH has to offer! We are so blessed to live and work so close to such a great health resource for kiddos
My husband is a diabetic and has been going to children's mercy at the Wichita clinic for 4 years now with Dr. Blue and he's wonderful. We got a call today from children's mercy in KC to pre-register for one of his appointments. We're a little short on money so we asked to speak to the financial counselor. Her name was Michelle, and she was so rude! Asking for financial assistance takes a lot of pride and this lady had nothing nice to say. She had an attitude and told us that we needed to apply online but she didn't give us a website. She told us that even if we do apply it won't be in time for his appointment. Her tone of voice was not welcoming and she did not seem sincere or care that we needed help. We told her about our situation and she told us that we wouldn't even qualify but go ahead anyways. Idk it was just rude, that wasn't any way to talk to a patient and worst customer service skills I've ever encountered.
Last Friday Daniel was admitted to CMH for infection in his right foot. As I told you before Daniel has Spinda Bifida he can feel any pain below his knees. The right name is cellulitis on his right foot. Well on 12/19/17 he was discharged from the hospital. He now home with me in Leavenworth. As Daniel would say it not my first rodeo. He always has fun there. He watch TV and played games. He responded real well with his treatment. The place is all lit up and everything. I real enjoy going here with my son.
We called 4 months ago to schedule an appointment with a specific doctor. We told them we were willing to wait to see the doctor we wanted. Just found out we were rescheduled to a brand new doctor with no experience in the field. When I called to reschedule with the original doctor they cancelled our appointment and said it would be another 4 months. I am done working with Children's Mercy. You pay twice as much to be herded like cattle and treated poorly. The hospital may be great for emergency surgery or extreme cases but I would avoid their clinics and doctor offices at all costs, you will get better care elsewhere.
I love coming here I love the little monsters on the wall #AdellaRoel #DelLaVidaDelLaLoma
Best place for kids ever!
Great care the doctor was very helpful and knowledgeable...
My daughter is currently here being treated for an asthma attack, check in was fast although a little crowded it did not matter they were getting everyone seen quickly. Love Doctor Charles Spencer and his team of nurses, Retha was great, the nurse that specializes in giving breathing treatment was awesome. She doing so much better so glad I brought her.
This is the worse hospital I ever visited I'm here for a month and my son got sicker here because a medication was given to hem incorrectly and the doctor the only thing they said we sorry there is so stupid and now they came and toll me they will move my son to and other room because they need he's room for someone else wooooooo I'm so so mad and disappoint this is a nightmare poor service poor communication poor treatment and I was on the picu all this happened to us on a month of horrible service
The staff, nurses and doctor were so friendly.
Couldn't ask for better care for your child. We have been taking my grandson there in KCMO and Wichita clinics since he was 6 mos old. The doctors and nurses and all the staff from valet, security, food service are all A+. You can be confident in knowing that your child will be properly cared for.
My main complaint is about the billing department. DO NOT sign up for auto payments. They withdrew too much money one month and I was told by the representative, "Oh yeah, sometimes even if your balance is zero it'll continue to withdraw the full amount for a while." So she assured me that I'd get a full refund check and that she had stopped the auto payments (there's no way to do it online, you have to go through a representative). Well one month later, no refund and they are continuing to charge me despite a NEGATIVE balance. I called again and sure enough, I'm still signed up for auto payments and they hadn't refunded any of my money (about $500). I'll wait until next month to see if it actually took this time. I tried to stop payments through my bank but because I did it through a debit card they'd have to reissue a new card and I don't want to redo all my automatic payments because of one company's problem. We had great service otherwise with the medical staff. Just please fix your financial computer system. It is immoral to KNOWINGLY keep drawing money from accounts that have ZERO or NEGATIVE balances. If I hadn't caught this early I'd easily be out by thousands of dollars in a few months time.
Most amazing childrens hospital I have seen!!
Im always pleased with the care my child receives from this hospital!!
the worst hospital ever. they have gone overboard trying to play god and determining when theres child abuse when there are children out there with brain injuries that have self inflicting behaviors! instead of hotlining a parent and making the situation worse your staff needs to ask questions and call a parent. who are you to stop a court order? this hospital is not the judge in the state of missouri. i do NOT trust these people. I worked 2 years to get my children home and because a childs statement that you all believed, you have now launched an investigation on child abuse for absolutely no reason. My son has a brain injury and you believe a child with an injury without asking questions to anyone. Ive never been so disgusted with a hospital in my entire life. this is defamation of character! do not trust these people to believe the truth, they'll hotline you for a childs self inflicted bruises. thats the type of staff that you will run into at this hospital. once all of this is settled you will be hearing from my attorney
I’m so thankful for Save My Spot. It is nice to be able to walk in and not wait an hour or more to be seen at the Urgent Care.
Been trying since July to get my child in to see a urologist. We have been rescheduled three times. If a patient had to reschedule even once it would be a massive inconvenience to the office but apparently it’s fine for them to do it. I have to say I am less than pleased with any of my dealings with Children’s Mercy.
Not happy at all with my child's care. They don't seem to take a child's pain seriously. It's like she is another piece of paper. Plus god forbid you miss a call back. Another day or more of phone tag. Ask to speak to a person you get to leave a message. Doesn't matter if your kid hurts. They have no problem putting them off.
Dr. Ryan in the infectious disease Clinic is great he takes his time with his patience. He cares you can tell. Much better then his other colleagues In the same clinic. Ryan explains everything and answers all questions he always response to his portal. He makes you feel comfortable. Thanks Ryan we appreciate you l!
I can never say enough positive things about the entire staff at Children's Mercy!
DR. Gamis & Joy Bartholomew are definitely AAA+++++ACROSS THE BOARD! BEST ONCOLOGISTS AND HOSPITAL WE COULD'VE EVER HOPED OR DREAMED FOR!
UROLOGY CENTER IS A JOKE.!! if you are dealing with hypospsdias. After waiting 45 minutes to be seen for the appointment we were on time for, we were delighted to have a caring nurse check us in. She was tentative and understanding of our concerns. The doctor came in and was pretty short and said that "if it we're his son he wouldn't fix it". Google hypospadias and you tell me if you would want your son to have a hypospadia corrected. I URGE YOU TO FIND A BETTER DOCTOR/PRACTICE to do a hypospadia repair. There are wonderful doctors out there that are highly skilled and highly recommended. You may have to travel but I believe it's well worth it. I defiantly do not recommend the urology center to anyone with a child that has hypospadias.
The staff at Children's Mercy are the best! Always so friendly and they really care about the kids. They made a very scary, stressful time as pleasant as possible considering the situation. We will always bring our kids here whenever they need medical attention.
My children received excellent treatment while recovering from open heart surgery. Can not thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for them enough. If it was not for them I would not have my children.
This hospital is quick and they love kid. They have as lots of activity for them while they wait.
Awesome care. great atmosphere. helpful, happy staff
CMH is an amazing place. Admittedly you hope you never need a children's hospital but when you do, there are none better.
I’m just so thankful for everything they’ve done for my baby. My 3 month old is not only alive, but he’s thriving!
I used to love children's mercy but there level of care is bad. waited five hours then left without my daughter being seen.she went in with an eye injury. We will have to see another doctor. I am switching my kids they will no longer be seen at children's mercy. They wasn't calling anyone back. one of the nurses was yelling at a special needs girl. Told sit down there is nothing wrong with you.
I had my surgery there and everyone was very nice and helped me. They cared about what I was about to go through and continually asked if they could help. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs any kind of hospital. It's very safe, and the people there are so nice.
I took my youngest there last night as im not from KCMO area they put is in a room 30mins go by and not a single nurse came in to access my child. So I asked the nurse how much longer would it be? She then came an told me there is one person whos been waiting longer than me to be seen. I understood that. But they really didn't start accessing my son until I asked if therr was another emergency room near by. I was up there for hours for a breathing treatment that never got done.
Staff are always friendly and they seem to always go out of there way to assist you
Was told by our local neurosurgeon that we need to get my daughter to either ku med or children's mercy immediately. I'm glad I chose children's mercy. Not knowing there was more than one hospital, we went to the wrong one. They took care of us and loaded get up on the ambulance and got her to the correct one and ensured that we knew where we were going. In our stay here, we have encountered nothing but kind and caring people from the housekeepers to the nursing staff and physicians. If I could give me than five stars, I would. This place is amazing.
Awesome place.
My daughter was taken by ambulance and it was scary but your crew on the rig was great. Our stay was great and loved our nurses. Thank you!
My 14 year old daughter is depressed and having suicidal ideation. I FINALLY found an intensive outpatient program, Signature Behavioral Health, which was amazing. However... because of the suicidal ideation my daughter is experiencing, the therapist, who is AMAZING, referred us to an inpatient evaluation to ensure the safety of my daughter! The only place available that we could find was Crittenton, and there is no way I would ever take her there! Upon hitting every brick wall, it dawned on me to check with children’s mercy! Duh! Well much to my dismay... I searched for “suicidal ideation” only to receive this message... Sorry! “No results were found for "Suicidal ideation ." Please choose another term and try again” YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!
The care at Mercy is good, but beware the cost. Our son had 2 blood tests for GI, $3800 total for those and rejected by insurance. We're appealing but assumed worst case, we owe $4,000. Recently learned a previous test, a capsule endoscopy was rejected and the cost for that is $14,535. His Dr ordered another colonoscopy and capsule colonoscopy which we can't do not knowing if it will be covered. We could have owed them $30,000 more if I hadnt checked on this. Their costs and billing policies feel like a scam. A lot of tests are rejected by insurance as unnecessary and you're responsible for the full amount. Works out well for the hospital. They also bill $15,000 for a colonoscopy when the average coat for one is $3,000. What is that extra money for? If you have your child seen here, request a pre-authorization for any tests they do. If you don't, , you may run up a large bill with them.
I know it is a great hospital but the er wait times are horrible 3 1/2 hrs and still waiting
This hospital honestly saved my life. I want to thank them so much, honestly. I was here with a blood clot in my leg, and they helped every step of way. They have amazing staff, and it's a very friendly and welcoming environment.
Kids not doing well get them here!!! Also I am to understand that it is a darn good place to be employed!!!
I would like to say I loved this hospital. I had a emergency visit and I was seen at children mercy hospital so the doctor and staff was asking my mom what happen so my mom was telling the staff what had happen so after she was done the doctor asked my mom if anything else could off happen and my mom told the doctor and staff no so they needed a urine sample and some others tests so I did everything I need to so the staff would come in and out and just kelp asking my mom there's no way nothing else could off happen and my mom told them more the one time so the staff was saying I was not acting normal so mom was telling the staff yes I was so children mercy hospital discharged me and later on that night my mom took me to another hospital for the same thing and I was treated they really gave me the treatment and tests that i needed and children mercy hospital did not treat me the my mom seem like she was lying about what she was bring me in for and just made my feel very uncomfortable so the next morning my mom gets a call from D.F.S saying that they got a call from children mercy hospital on the visit with ME SO I WOULD TELL EVERYONE IF U DO NOT HAVE TO VISIT THIS HOSPITAL DON'T PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF I NEVER THOUGHT A HOSPITAL PPL CAN BE LIKE THAT
Been going here for years with all my kids best place ever
Sister had great time getting hear appendix outm. Good food
If you would like have your life turned upside down by false accusations of child abuse, Children's Merciless is the place to go!
What a great place!! Thank you to the nurses and staff on 4 Sutherland.......You just didnt think of my son but you thought of me as well! You all are AWESOME!!!!!! Hands down best hospital I've ever been too!!!
Fantastic hospital if your child is sick - just don't work there. Certainly not if you're not a medical professional. Non-medical staff are treated poorly and paid even worse. Middle management are all "barely graduated high school but the hospital paid for me to get my online Master's" inept. Again, the medical care is top notch, it's everything else that's awful.
We have had an overall good experience with Children's Mercy and their doctors, but I have never experienced ANY website as bad as their online bill paying. Save yourself and just call to pay. It is insanely bad. On our statements it even says "new and improved" bill paying. I'd hate to see what they had before.
After a month of trying to get a hold of the representative to schedule an appointment for my child, I was informed that they only see a special class of patients, a patient with multiple co-morbidities. Charlotte the care coordinator was impossible to get a hold of and not very helpful. It was like pulling teeth to get any resources from her regarding child psychiatrist. If you are looking for mental health for your child avoid children's mercy, especially Charlotte, they won't help you anyway. You are better off asking a brick wall for help.
These guys couldn't be better, they are Awesome. They do things here people only imagine elsewhere, super kind and compassionate too, they called us four times the day after my son's surgery.
I cant say enough about this place. My cousins kid is there right now and 10 years ago my son had heart surgery there. The place is phenomenal. I haven't read the 1 star reviews but fir real, how can you give a place that does such good things a one star.
dfa
I've been taking my son here for the last 6 months and I've always had a positive experience. We're working with a full team and they're attentive, and take my thoughts and concerns into consideration.
Great nurses I've met so far
Love the security here, nice to see the tenacity with authenticating individual's.
Emergency room visit from hell. Lack of staff to deal with patients. Drove 3 hours after nurse recommendation to have sit in the er with a cranky 2 year old. We have been here for 5 hours and have been told we still have 6 people ahead of us without anything getting done.
Best care ever! Such a caring staff and great experience! Would not go anywhere!!
Greatest staff you could ever find in all the world
This hospital is great. Dr.Yan is an awesome endocrine doctor and will find if your child has any other problems too.
This hospital has done so much for our family. Everyone from doctors and nurses to volunteers and cleaning crew are amazing. We have visited several times due to my daughters health condition and it has never failed
They're caring, very understanding and work harder then hard to help!! Love the staff so much thankful for such a great hospital!!
My son was born with a rare disorder called Allagilles syndrome. He had a liver transplant at 13 months of age & has many health problems related to this rare syndrome. The entire staff at cmh has been amazing. A special, heartfelt gratitude of appreciation goes out to the GI doctors & physicians..Vicki Fioravanti, James Daniels, & Dr. Andrews..they saved my son with God's help & helped me as a mom. There is no words or monetary value to ever express my gratitude. They have went above & beyond for my child and myself. I will forever hold them & childrens mercy in my heart & prayers. If you have an ill child, this is the place to go!!! Childrens Mercy is absolute best in my book!!!!
The parking for employees is ridiculous. Especially Travelers here on a 13 week assignment.
Great facility with a very friendly staff. They are the best in their fields and I can't imagine taking my children anywhere else.
Children’s Mercy Hospital needs to change their culture within, there are so many times that I have been talked down to as a black mother. I am assumed to be ignorant, aggressive and lacking the ability to make the right decisions for my children. In the last two years I’ve had 3 very negative experiences with the staff. Yes, there may be some amazing physicians and staff here but the negative is so impactful. This is not a hospital I would recommend for brown people because so many of the individuals that work here are blatantly biased and lack compassion for the families of the patients. Also, I have contacted the patient advocate team for every incident and they send an apology letter....great.... but what about the CHANGE that needs to happen? I will say that in Urology, Endocrine and ENT, I have had excellent care. So if the higher ups would take time and evaluate what those clinics get right and listen to those “recorded calls”, I’m sure a positive change would happen. Everyone of every race should feel care and respect when seeking help for a child.
We love Children's Mercy! Great attitudes, excellent care, if I were only as old as I act, this is where I'd be when in need of medical care!
My daughter was treated for an infected finger as a result from getting it smashed in a door and then developing an infection. They drained the infected area and ordered a prescription for an antibiotic. No IV or other medications were given. It was a simple visit and she healed fine. However. When we got the bill, they billed us at a level 5 trauma. That is the highest level of trauma that can be seen. The same level for a car accident with multiple broken bones and injuries resulting in emergency surgery. We called the hospital for explanation. After six months of calling and getting no explanation or feedback. We finally gave out and paid it. By choice I wouldn't return to this hospital as I feel they are fraudulent.
Amazing people!!
Horrible experience with multiple doctors. They don't listen to the parents or the child, they only treat the presenting symptoms instead of finding out the root of the problem. Misdiagnosed my child twice.
Hall 6 staff were so great to my son & I.
Very lovely place with helpful doctors and nurses. Never a bad experience.
Extremely caring, kind, compassionate staff. Doctor was successfully able to treat my son with collaboration between him and the team personally assigned to his individual needs. NICU has very caring and sincere staff as well. Each infant/child along with their family are met with encouragement, safety, smiles, and dedicated staff.
The worse experience ever with my 7 month old baby This was my first time at children’s mercy hospital Rude customer service the nurses did not wash there hands when touching my infant baby The doctors didn’t even check my baby right I waited 4 hours in a half for a doctor that’s 20 years old to just talk to me for 5 min didn’t even check my baby properly And she hade go talk to her supervisor and ask her wat was wrong with my baby I thought she was a doctor so why ask ??? Supervisor that’s just weird I would not recommend I say just go to another hospital !!!!!!!!!!! They do not know what there doing
This is a wonderful place they take really good care of the kids
We look very CMH! Great staff, every room is child friendly!
They need to work on their ER times , you will be here for HOURS waiting to be seen , this particular ER is definitely a LAST RESORT for me and my kids , I don’t even know why i drove here , i never come to this ER because they are always understaffed and you will spend all night waiting on them to free up a room
Great place to take your sick kids
They have taken the best care of my daughter! Wouldn't ask for another hospital!
We drive 4 hours to have my now, 17 month old son, seen by the best of the best..... the staff, the doctors, the nurses, everyone is amazing and so caring and great with kids! I had one nurse who wasn't very pleasant, although who knows what she had been dealing with that day, week, month, or year..... God Bless her!
Wonderful staff. Great experience. Thank you for everything.
This hospital and its staff are TOP NOTCH. My son suffered a baseball injury and complications that landed him in the ER. The treating physician found an "incidental finding" that has potentially saved my son's life. We have easily been able to transition from Sports Medicine, to Physical Therapy, to Rheumatology, to Neurology, to Dermatology and soon, to Neurosurgery. I can say that with each specialty clinic we've visited, we've been treated with respect, thoughtfulness and genuine concern. My children will never go to another place. I feel fully confident in the treatment and care at CMH.
Dr. Hendrickson literally saved our boys life. And the nursing staff on 2 Henson is the absolute best! We've been coming here for a rare disease for 4 years. They truly care... we couldn't ask for a better surgery team
Very dirty many bug in room, does not care about clean, and housekeeper always late. They do not take care seriously. Some of stuff good and another not. Before deal with this hospital ask the patients about everything. I prefer you, deal with hospital in Huston for children is batter than this hospital. No recommendation for all.
They have been great in finding out the causes of my granddaughters illness
We recently took our 4 year old daughter in for a serious dental procedure. We were blessed with a great staff, hospital and doctor. We were informed of every process and were sent off safely. Thank you Children's Mercy.
Awesome staff, and doctors! They made a tragic incident into a warm, caring experience for me and my family.
Our son having pain took to children's mercy downtown Kansas City Missouri . There should be more hospitals for children Than this one we were there for over 6 hours, but ended up having to stay overnight. Doctors, nurses were great but, other staff needs to learn about accommodations for people alittle better as there was 4 behind desk, if they did alittle less talking and more working wouldn't be a bad hospital. After, going back to room think wait time was crazy took forever sometimes over hr plus before anyone even checked on us. We/ins pays them need to be a bit more organized and using proper staff to accommodate patients better. I was not even offered a drink while waiting for hours. Then, when went to room finally open fridge in room and there was a drink spilled all over floor and other items appear to have been in there for days. (Gross) first time there if I ever have choice will never go back lots of noise and more employee s that need to be more oraganized to fit patient and parents needs instead of socializing amongst theirselves as that what they get paid to work. Finding your way around hospital is horrible you get lost fairly easily. Alli I can say if you have to go there plan to be there several hours even if minor, just overall experience about 5 out of 10 that's being generous. Goodluck
Always thorough. And friendly! Good care
Wonderful people doctors nurses couldn't ask for a better children's hospital
My granddaughter got a new liver a week ago today on the 20th and she's turned two years old on the 21st this is the most amazing Hospital ever they saved her life
Excellent hospital, always great treatment for your kids!
The staff at Children's Mercy took nothing but excellent care of my daughter when she had her OHS. The Ronald McDonald house inside the hospital was extremely inviting. I would choose and recommend this faculty in a heartbeat.
Very friendly and prompt. Took good care of us.
Horrible experience with my very medical fragile child..its about quantity over quality of care what happened to caring and compassion? Switching hospitals asap
I have dealt with them through 3 sons including premie, as a foster parent, and now with a newly adopted son. This has been over almost 40 years and they have continued to be wonderful and caring.
Staff has always been been nice to us. Have been bringing my son often every since he was a baby. Great doctors and nurses and clerical and even environmental services.
Hope they soon realize (already should) that they serve a very diverse community culturally and financially, and start moving forward respecting each difference. Thankful for care. Frustrated with the staff. THIS LOCATION ALONE is Ageist sexist racist.
