Michon was so amazing! I have been looking for a dermatologist for a while, but have put it off for over 7 years. I was actually going to go to another derm, but they never picked up their phone and when I went to google saw that they had horrible reviews. After some research i saw that Skin Iowa had the best reviews by far. I took a chance and I am SO thankful that I did. I wish i would have found out about them earlier! I have told all my family & friends about them! I was able to get in the next day, get a spot checked out that I was worried was skin cancer, have it frozen off & have my previously un-diagnosed rosacea looked at and a prescription sent in all within 45 minutes of being in the office. I have a follow up in 4 weeks and am so thankful for finding this place! The waiting room and patient rooms are BEYOND beautiful and clean, well lit & very very inviting. From the moment you walk in you feel like family. They were able to take my insurance which is great! If you are on the fence and doing some research, i would 100% recommend Skin Iowa!

All the office staff is wonderful! And Sue and Michon are both compassionate healthcare professionals!

Would not recommend this place if you're considering permanent make-up. I got my eyebrows done here by Lisa and they turned out two different shapes and sizes. It hurt badly and bled a lot as well. I have had this done before in another state and it did not hurt or bleed at all so that was not normal to me. She was very nice and professional but unfortunately for the price it did not turn out well & I will not be going back here.

I've had great success with Skin Iowa for my personal skincare and in helping my son with his acne issues. The staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

I love Sue Schooler and the staff at Skin Iowa. I have been using them for a few years and they are knowledgeable and always available to help me with any questions I have. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

After review of the internet ratings, I would have to agree with the remarks made below. I was honestly shocked to read this. I was looking for a Dermatologist and did a google search and here pops up Iowa Skin under Dermatologists in West Des Moines. The gentleman by the name if Mark below stresses some concerns that your company replied to and denied working with. Perhaps he was researching like myself ? Your experience is appreciated in your reply however, I believe the point is that this is not a dermatology office and most importantly DOES NOT have a DERMATOLOGIST on staff. I believe the point made was your clinic is misleading. After posting your affiliated staff members and their credentials, I did my own research and have now further concerns. Dr Koulgraph isn't a practicing doctor in Des Moines and a search shows he lives quit a distance away and is a Surgeon but not a plastic surgeon. The other doctor that is affiliated is affiliated but does not work here and NEITHER ARE DERMATOLOGISTS. Your company appears as advertised to be a dermatology office and you hold yourselves out as such on multiple physical sites like webbed and health grades which are for doctors. The truth seems that this is a clinic run by Physician Assistants that are not allowed to practice independently. Further research shows that the Ms. Schooler actually has several board complaints against her and the other woman used to work at a hormone clinic that also had some legal issues according to google. I have to agree. Your clinic is very misleading and I could have easily scheduled thinking I was going to see a dermatologist. Very disappointing. People need to be told up front that this is not a dermatology office. You may have experience working with the skin as you have outlined but none of you are dermatologist.

Not enough wonderful things can be said about this office. I have been treated here for not just dermatological issues but also cosmetic, and have been extremely satisfied. Michon and Sue sure do know how to take care of acne problems! After years of struggling with acne, they have got my skin all straightened out. Michon is a whiz with a needle. I go to her for botox and am always satisfied with the results. In addition, they have the fantastic Dr. Kolegraff on staff now. I have never met a surgeon that is as sincere and honest as him. As a cosmetic surgeon, he is not out to make a quick buck. He profoundly cares about helping patients get the results they want, not all the results they can afford.

I have only been going to Skin Iowa for a little while but have had an amazing experience every time. They have been able to help me with my problem skin and do not plan on going anywhere else.

Colin Hall

Wonderful staff. Great place!

I feel compelled to write because I had an excellent experience with Sue Schooler, PA-C, today. I had not visited their office since 2006, but today I came in for a few minor procedures and concerns including having a large scar treated with cortisone. I had always had very painful experiences at other dermatology offices prior to this, but when injecting and/or freezing the areas she treated, there was almost no pain! Sue was very reassuring and kind and my anxiety faded quickly. She also made the time to look at the moles on my arms, legs, back, and abdomen for me to see if any were suspicious, even though I hadn't scheduled a mole check. I will certainly refer others to Sue, especially people who, like me, are very anxious about dermatology visits and having moles or other areas treated as she was so gentle and friendly! I am glad to have found their office because I know that preventative care is important and now I won't be nervous or put off my visits!

Do your research !!! This is not a dermatology clinic! In fact there is not one dermatologist on staff. Just two physician assistants that act like the doctors . They have one doctor that owns his own company that specializes in hand surgeries and then have a " medical director " ( Ron Koulgraph) that lives 5 hours that they promote as some great doctor because he sits on the medical board . Awesome! However, he too is a fake. His history isn't plastic surgery! He had a different specialty then self taught himself plastic surgery! Very misleading because they advertise "dermatology" and " plastic surgery " and do not have a dermatologist affiliated at all or a real, school educated plastic surgeon ! Also I just learned that Sue and Michen are both Physician Assistants and are not even allowed to practice on their own. How does this clinic get away with calling themselves a dermatology office?

I had a small wart on my knee and they first tried to freeze it off. After insurance it was around $350. Over the next year it came back as a tiny cluster. I went back in and they put on the "beetlejuice." It blistered but still didn't remove it. This was $450 after insurance and required repeat visits. I told them on the 2nd visit just to cut it off and I wasn't worried about scaring as they warned me seeing it was on my knee. I just wanted it gone for summer/shorts weather. I have no problem paying for the best but results just weren't there in my case. This is a great place for trendy cosmetic procedures and the staff is very nice. If you need basic dermatology procedures its best to look for a less polished, less advertised, and more basic clinic to get the job done.

Ronald Kolegraff M.D.

Great staff and a great place to work. Can't be more proud to be part of a great team.

Emily Hofland

Never got to experience this place. Needed electrolysis, for pre-surgery. Insurance is even paying. Not many places like this that can work with insurance, and the only one I found (this one). Gets all "religious liberties". She can say what she wants. But why bother asking if I'm trans if you're going to just say "no" anyway? I was hoping for more professionalism from a place that does real medical stuff. Looks I'm paying out of pocket at a spa. To someone who isn't a nurse for a plastic surgeon. But in just accepting me as a patient will already speak to bring more professional.

I hardly ever leave a review but the service I just received was so great I just had to share. I initially went in to see Susan Schooler to have my moles checked, discuss botox, and also talk about Dr. Obagi's skin care line. I ended up having an atypical and needing a wide excision. I was so nervous to have this procedure done but she numbed the area with no pain, and talked with me through the procedure making me feel extremely comfortable. Before I knew it she was all done in sending me on my way. Susan hugged me before I left in assured me everything would be OK. She is extremely professional but her chair side manner is truly what will keep me coming back. I just wanted to thank Susan and all of the staff for taking such great care of me!

I am not one to write reviews but this clinic is amazing & Sue took such good care of me! She is so caring, easy to talk to and took the time to answer all of my concerns. Not even a week later, my pesty eczema is already clearing up which has never happened with any cream ever. I am so happy to have taken a chance with this clinic!

Appointment went well, but getting the results took forever. I called 4 times, several weeks after our appointment and kept getting the run around. I wouldn't go back.

Love these practitioners. I have known Sue Schooler for around 17 years. So kind, knowledgeable and well versed in dermatology.

Michon and the ladies at Skin IA PC are absolutely wonderful to work with. Michon is somebody who really cares about her patients and it shows. I have gone to her for a couple of different services and what I appreciate most about her is how upfront and honest she is about the services and products she offers. She is not trying "to just sell" you anything. She truly cares and wants the best for you and will tell you flat out if she doesn't think something is going to work for you. To me that is invaluable service. I have recently been seeing her for accutane treatments for the last 2 months and I can honestly say I have never been happier with my skin. There are many skin clinics and doctors out there but there are very few who are truly invested in their patients and their medical needs. Highly, highly recommend Skin Iowa PC.

I have read the other comments and I was in no way mislead to believe Susan and Michon are doctors. However I received better care than I have at most doctors offices. Susan was thorough and answered all my questions and alleviated any concerns.

Great experience. The ZO products have transformed my skin.

Good Vibes

I went there to get sculptra. Which btw is an amazing product-ask about it! I’ve been doing botox and sculptra since I was 27 and 5 years later I still look 27. I even had a 22 year old guy asking me on date...lol. I had to politely tell him I was a decade older than him...lol Prevention and maintenance goes along way. They had a monthly special and they let me take advantage of another special when checking out. I saved at least $500. I’ll be on the look out for specials. With or without the specials they are a wonderful practice and I wish them much success. I just wanted to post a review because a referral is the best compliment you can give.

I am a Registered Nurse and have been receiving medical care by Sue Schooler and her staff for over 8 years. I also provide healthcare consulting services to many medical practices all over the country since 1988. I have audited hundreds of dermatology practices over the years. My experience with this clinic has always been top knotch and very professional. Skin Iowa is one of a handful of Dermatology practices that I would trust to provide great care for me & my family. The fact that physician assistants are providing the majority of the care does Not mean you are getting poor or lower quality care. The healthcare system in the US has many mid level practioners providing excellent care. You won't regret obtaining care at Skin Iowa. If you don't want to be seen by a well trained & educated and caring clinic.. Go someplace else. For the people who purposely post comments that are NOT Based On Personal Experiences, and the intent is to ruin a business and a person's reputation is considered malice. You Can Be Sued. You might want to consider sticking to facts & personal experiences. You might want to review Iowa's Defamation Laws. "DEFAMATION IS ANY STATEMENT THAT CAN INJURE A PERSON'S REPUTATION, INCITE HATRED, OR CAUSE ECONOMIC DAMAGE TO A BUSINESS "

The staff at Skin Iowa are wonderful!! I have been a patient there for the past eight years. Sue Schooler is well versed on all the latest skin care treatments. She is excellent at recognizing dermatology problems. She and her staff are very professional yet treat patients like "family." I would highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking help with skin care issues.

I visited Skin Iowa a few months ago for my 9 year old daughter. She had a few skin bumps that we were told by her pediatrician that she would outgrown. After about 6 months they were getting worse and had become infected. I decided to seek out a dermatologist and after a friends recommendation I decided to take her to Skin Iowa. She saw Susan Schooler. Susan Schooler was so good with my daughter and took an approach that helped the skin bumps to heal faster than if we would have let them "run their course." Since we had such good luck with Susan Schooler, I decided to visit Skin Iowa this past week for a full body check and to have a mole looked at on my back. Susan Schooler was out of the office on the day that I was available so I saw Michon Leddy. She did a more thorough body check than I have had at other local offices. She looked at 2 spots and froze one and shaved the other for a biopsy. She didn't make me come back for surgery, as I have had at other offices. She talked to me about other spots to watch. She also helped with my 12yr old daughters acne. Taking a non aggressive form of treatment. I appreciated that she took the time to talk with my daughters about sun damage and how to take care of your skin at a young age. I felt both Michon Leddy and Susan Schooler were very knowledgable in answering my questions. Definitely worth a 5 star rating.

I've been to what feels like a million dermatologists, after like 20 years this place finally fixed my skin. I love going here, Sue is totally awesome, easy to talk to, listens to my issues. I've never felt rushed out or that my issues/concerns were dismissed like I have at other places. The entire staff is great, all the front desk staff are welcoming and fun so are the nurses. I'm so happy I became a patient here. You guys rock.

By far the most knowledgeable and friendly office I have been in. I have now been coming to Skin Iowa for several years and would never trust any other office!
