Called a dozen times, no answer. Went to web site and tried to schedule an appointment there. Received a reply “to call”. Called again 3 times – no answer. Left voice mail. Received a call back at 5 minutes until 5pm. Asked for ridiculous and irrelevant information such as (zip code). While looking for additional information the time hit 5pm and the lady that called me hung up. Called back… you guessed it – no answer. While the doctor may be top notch in his field. His staff is not.

Dr. Robbins is an incredibly gifted surgeon. He performed an eyelid lift on me several years ago and it still looks great! He also performed a tummy tuck on a friend of mine and it was FLAWLESS! She was thrilled with the results! I also received liposuction to my hip area and I now have the beautiful hour glass shape I always wanted. I could not be happier. I called to schedule a consultation for breast augmentation and I was told that Dr Robins will not work on transgender patients because their anatomy is "different". I have spoke to several doctors since and all say the anatomy is the same and that they are being discriminatory. If you are transgender please do not bother wasting your time and money on this archaic facility and doctor and go to Dr Lekkas at Iowa Clinic Plastic Surgery. They are the best.

I'm one week post op. I believe my nurse was Rhea. She guided me through getting my stitches out and tubes. She made sure I was 100%. When I was tearing up from pain she immediately helped me. Dr Robbins checked on me and said I am healing perfectly! Surgery went get the anesthesiologist explained everything to a T and was even humerous. The nurses dealt well with my one year old that was running around all over. They even had a family room which made it much easier for my husband and daughter! Only thing I'd suggest is hearing more from the doctor himself. Other than that ...BEST PLACE EVER!

I came in for Microneedling-my first cosmetic procedure ever. Tricia was my provider that day, and she did an excellent job answering all of my questions, showing me all the equipment, prepping me, and completing the procedure. She was extremely professional and gentle with her technique. I also really appreciated her anticipatory guidance regarding the post-op phase (things proceeded just as she described). I am just two-week post procedure but I am very pleased with my results so far. I am planning to have some additional appointments with Tricia and DMPS in the near future.

Im really disappointed in the customer service from Des Moines Plastic Surgeon Dr. Robbins. My wife went in for a breast augmentation and a little over a year after, her breast implant started leaking. After noticing a significant difference in her breasts, she came in and talked to Dr. Robbins. He said he couldn't help her and didn't notice any difference and couldn't tell if there was an actual leak in the implant. There is definitely a difference and it has affected her self esteem greatly. The whole part of the surgery was to improve her self esteem but instead it has made it worse. She paid $5000 for a breast augmentation that only lasted a little over a year. I just feel dr. Robbins didn't want to redo the surgery. We were disappointed because we felt he might do the right thing and fix her breast implant but instead he said she can pay another $5000 for another surgery. Just doesn't seem right. Id suggest maybe the next clients of his do some research on the products he uses.

I am beyond disappointed with the service I was supposed to receive yesterday. I went in for a BBL treatment yesterday that never happened because apparently my scheduled service conflicted with other services they had scheduled with other patients. I arrived at 2 to receive the numbing treatment for the BBL that was scheduled for 3. The numbing treatment was not applied until 2:20. After it was applied, I then waited until 3 for my scheduled BBL treatment. 3 o'clock came and went. By 3:15 I decided to leave and forget it. I was so irritated that no one bothered to check on me after the numbing cream was applied. The room I was placed in was cold. I actually used the thin cover on the table as a blanket and folded a towel to make a pillow for myself. By the way, this new facility is not a relaxing spa atmosphere. It's very clinical. Everything is grey. There is no warmth. There is no special pampering. No one that asks if you are comfortable. And you are on their time. I made special arrangements to be there on time. I placed my daughter in daycare which may not seem like a big deal to some but the only thing that separates me from my little girl is sleep because I work late night hours. Other than that, she and I are inseparable. So, for them to be running late with my appointment is precious time they took from me that I could've spent with my daughter. After feeling forgotten, I was so ready to leave that I walked out of the facility with the numbing cream still on. I didn't wipe it off until I arrived home. To say the least, it was a less than desirable way to spend the rest of the day. I had been to the Coachlight facility 3 weeks ago for a BBL spot treatment. At that time, I liked Jessica, the esthetician that performed the procedure, but she couldn't remember me when I went yesterday. To her, it was like we were meeting for the first time. Also, 3 weeks ago after the procedure was performed, Jessica and I were finishing up getting ready to walk up to the reception counter when another esthetician barged in our room and was rudely trying to hurry us along. I wish I knew her name. She was mean and said that Dr Robbins needed the BBL machine. She stood there oblivious to her own bad behavior and offered no privacy or patience for us to finish up. As we were walking to the reception counter, Jessica even remarked I guess that whatever Dr Robbins wants Dr Robbins gets even if it's an imposition on other patients receiving services. I have to say that I was pleased with the actual BBL treatment and the results which is why I scheduled again for yesterday with Jessica though she couldn't remember me. Another disappointing factor (other than wasted time away from my daughter) was that I saved my money up to get this treatment done. I was so excited about it. I even saved to buy some Skin Medica products. I went in with cash ready to pay and then got treated like I didn't even matter. I worked hard to be there yesterday. I wanted to matter. On the positive side, when I got home I started calling around and found places that offer BBL treatments cheaper than DM Plastic Surgery. Urban Effects in WDM offeres the same treatment for the entire face $50 cheaper than DM Plastic Surgery. Also, you can get IPL treatment done on the entire face right now at The Spa at West Glen for $99. That's approx $150 in savings when you compare DM Plastic Surgery's price for the BBL. I've had the IPL and was very impressed with the incredible results. I do like Jackie at DM Plastic Surgery. She's wonderful with botox injections. However, I called around and did comparative price checks on those treatments as well. There are many places that will charge $10 a unit. Something to keep in mind. I would be willing to change my review if DM Plastic Surgery contacts me with a willingness to make this right. I am a positive person and do believe that bad customers service can be rectified if the business is truly eager to make their customers happy.

I would recommend Dr. Robbins & his office to anyone that I know. Before my breast augmentation, I was nervous because I wanted to make sure I would be happy with my results. They used an imaging machine & I was basically able to see the changes on my body before the surgery. Though it was just a picture, it was pretty accurate, which was helpful in my decision-making process. Dr. Robbins was very professional & his staff was patient & thorough. My results are exactly what I wanted & I would go back & do it again tomorrow. I am extremely grateful!

I had been looking closer at my skin and the signs of sun damage and aging. It was time to get some TLC for the face so I called to make an appointment for a facial and consultation. I was lucky enough to get scheduled for a facial and consultation with Jessie Port! She helped me select products that were appropriate for my skin and services that could help reverse some of the damage I had already done. I am amazed at the difference when I go back and look at pictures that were taken before and after. I look forward to the appointments as I feel pampered and relaxed even when some of the procedures are not always soothing! I always leave there looking forward to my next appointment! It feels good to have friends and family say "Your skin looks amazing!" I make sure and tell them exactly where to go and who to see. Thank you Jessie for all you have done! I see his commercials on a local Iowa channel and I just shake my head. He mauled my arms; he took too much skin from my arms and they healed horribly. I had many infections and I'm just grateful that they healed up at all. Never mind the skin healing as if I was a burn patient. I will agree that his staff was wonderful. He knew he messed up and treated me poorly and curtly at follow-up appointments. I do NOT recommend him. Board Certified or not - he messed up my brachioplasty.

I had a ruptured left side breast implant. It was horrible. Dr Robbins and his entire staff was amazing from the first appointment to the last. The office is Gorgeous and everyone in that office was so nice to me. They were so understanding. I was really nervous because I waited so long(1.5years) to get the reconstruction. Everything turned out beautifully. I healed really well and the scars are very minimal. I am very happy with the outcome and would recommend everyone to this office. Stepping into Dr Robbins office, you are greeted by a friendly and helpful gal. In the consultation room, a pleasant nurse talks about your expectations. Dr Robbins is professional with a touch of humor. He is very thorough with pre-op survey prep and after surgery care. The anesthesiologist was another who was great to work with. I had a breast reduction done here, but there are several different techniques that plastic surgeons use to accomplish the result. I can't say that the technique Dr. Robbins used was the best, as eventually the look is "boxy" rather than "conical," and I have quite a bit of scarring, plus the staff wasn't overly concerned when I came in with "complications." But, overall, if you're looking to save money, this place will get it done. You're just not going to have stellar results.
