Larisa, T., 61 year old - very good results after face lift and laser treatments I would like to share my experience after a procedure performed by Dr. Mustoe. Exactly 1 month ago he did my full face lift, hips/chin liposuction, lips/low eye lids fat drafting, laser treatment to my upper eye lids and laser treatment for many brown spots on my face /hands. Surgery lasted (exactly as promised by Dr.Mustoe) only 3 hours . It is almost twice less then other plastic surgeons told me on pre-op consultations. I was sleepy that day but fully functional. Pain very very mild but took 3 Narco just in case. When the morning after surgery I removing the dressing from my face I was relieved and excited. My face was swollen but all features fully recognizable, there were also some bruises. The pain was subsiding so I took only 2 Narco pills. I was back to normal functioning on day 3. I was driving, went grocery shopping, walked my dog, did some house chores etc. Took only 1/2 Narco pill before going to sleep. I was back to work one week after Dr. Mustoe skillful work. There were still some puffiness and fading bruises, but very easy coverable with makeup. I was back to gim on week 2 and did mild cardio and weight lifting, yoga after week 3. Today is 4 weeks and I am enjoying tremendously my younger and beatified face. No more looking in mirror at the drooping skin and gloomy facial expression. The beauty of Dr. Mustoe work is that almost no one can tell there was procedure done - I just look younger but I don't look "pooled", "face lifted" or "done'. People complement my improvement and stunned that I had the procedure - a full face lift - just 3 weeks ago. I credit the result to Dr. Mustoe's skills and experience. I knew he was the best and was highly recommended when I was making my choice. The results, though, exceeded even my expectations. You may think i am young and healthy, why have such a good recovery. Unfortunately not, I am 61 and I do have health issues. This is I needed clearance from my physician and anesthesiologist. In personal communications Dr. Mustoe has been very nice, soft spoken, patiently answered all questions, honest and never made empty promises. I felt that he really cared for me as his patient. After the surgery he gave me his cell and home phone to call if there was a need. Bet not many doctors do that. I am very happy with my experience and the final result! I highly recommend Dr. Mustoe as the best in his field!

Just over a month ago, I had a facelift, one brow lift (the right was lower than the left), and a few fat injections under my eyes. I was back to work in just under two weeks, and all of the staples and stitches are out, save for a few that will dissolve on their own. I am quite impressed by how much I simply look like a much better version of me! I looked tired before, and gravity was not being my face's friend. I am really happy and this is barely four and a half weeks out. I look forward to seeing how this progresses as all of the swelling finally evens out and all the stitches dissolve. If I ever need/want another procedure, I will definitely come back.

I was completely opposed to rhinoplasty for my 16-year-old daughter who was struggling with severe bullying, depression, and anxiety. Over the course of this time, I watched her transform from a bright, bubbly, straight A student into someone who could hardly get out of bed. I remembered Dr. Mustoe’s name and decided to call. Words can't explain how worried we were about whether we were making the right parenting decision. My daughter didn't think anything could help her so she came along reluctantly. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with such kindness and concern. Dr. Mustoe put our fears to rest immediately. He'd had so much experience with stories just like ours and we listened as he described everything we'd gone through as if he already knew us. He was professional but incredibly personable and we never felt pressured. We decided to go through with the surgery and my daughter had fabulous results. My daughter's grades improved almost immediately, but more importantly, her smile returned. Dr. Mustoe gave us our lives back. If you're contemplating rhinoplasty, he's the best of the best.

I had a septoplasty to help with breathing and to correct a crooked nose. My nose is a lot straighter but I am unhappy with everything else. When I went in for the consult Dr. Mustoe asked if I wanted to also shorten my nose. I didn't have a small nose, but it definitely wasn't big so I said no. The day of the surgery just before going under anesthesia he asked again if I would like to shorten my nose during the procedure. I said no and then he proceeded to ask my family that was in the room with me. I felt so pressured that I finally said yes, just a little. He said it would barely be noticeable. Instead the tip totally looks different and it's more hooked instead of pointy like it used to be. It also affected my lips by making the gap between my lips and nose smaller. And I have a scar between my nostrils. During the consults he kept telling me how careful he is, that there won't be any bruising. Maybe he should have paid more attention to properly doing what I went there for not being concerned with the bruising. I would not recommend Dr. Mustoe to anyone.

My initial consult with Dr. Mustoe put any reservations of having surgery at ease. Dr. Mustoe was kind, patient, present and professional. He took his time to explain the procedure at length and answered all my questions, along with my Mom & husband's questions without judgement. On the day of surgery I was nervous, as I anticipate most would be, but again, Dr. Mustoe's expertise and confidence reassured me that I was in the best hands. I appreciated Dr. Mustoe sharing his home and cell phone with me, should I have any post-surgery questions or concerns. This reaffirmed he was vested in my recovery. If you're wondering if Dr. Mustoe is worth it... I promise you, he is. After 4 breast augmentation surgeries and LOADS of complications, I finally heard about Dr. Mustoe through a family friend who had a similar story to mine and was able to get it corrected. I scheduled a consultation (it took forever because he's a busy guy, but, trust me, he's worth the wait), and I met with him. He is obviously very knowledgable, has tons of awards and accolades, and a lot of experience, even with difficult cases like mine. He also gave it to me straight - he didn't really tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me how it had to be done in order for it to be right. Having the surgery with him was the BEST decision I could have made. The surgery was long, the recovery was hard, and we went under the muscle despite my initial desires, but I truly couldn't be happier. I haven't had any of the previous complications, my breasts are soft, appropriately sized, even, well placed, and just overall fantastic. I don't have any more hardness, pain, strange muscle moments, or ANYTHING! I can't tell you how relieved, grateful, and just so HAPPY I am. Of course, hind sight is 20/20, but I really wish I would have gone to Dr. Mustoe from the very beginning. He's pricey, he's hard to get an appointment with, and his bedside manner is a little more matter-of-fact than I typically like, but he's the best, he's worth it, and... you get what you pay for. So, do yourself a favor and just start at the top so you don't have to work your way up like I did. You'll be happy you did.

I went to another plastic surgeon's office for an IPL laser treatment and was badly burned by the laser technician. I went to see Dr. Mustoe for treatment and he exceeded my expectations. I recently completed a very complicated corrective rhinoplasty and am 100% thrilled with the results. I have needed this procedure for years and was dreading both the discomfort and the recovery. I met with 3 different doctors before selecting Dr. Mustoe for this procedure. From the moment I met him I knew he was the right doctor for the job. He is patient, thorough and very, very professional. He took a great deal of time listening to me and explaining to me what needed to be done. He way undersold himself and way over performed. The outcome is perfect and I had essentially no bruising. And, after one week, had you not known I had the procedure, you would not have known I had it done - except that I now have a perfect nose. I also had some eye work done and some laser work to get rid of those nasty lines under my eyes. I highly recommend Dr Mustoe for breast reduction surgery. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I went from a 32H to a 32D. It has been 3 months since my surgery, and I am healing great. Dr Mustoe was very straight forward and thorough. I had the surgery done at the 900 N Surgery Center, and it went very smoothly. His nurse Beth was also fabulous. Dr Mustoe gave a very accurate idea of how long it will take to heal. I took one week off work and 5 weeks off working out. Since Dr Mustoe is such a great surgeon it took a while to get an appointment with him, but it is definitely worth the wait.

After 13 years with my implants, I was grateful for their service but in search of a different aesthetic. After meeting with 3 other surgeons in Chicago, I met with Dr. Mustoe and booked my implant exchange/downsize 2 days later. The single biggest factor in my decision in addition to his reviews was how he walked me through my options and pros and cons of each (I was also considering complete removal). This led to my decision to downsize instead of remove my implants completely. I'm 10 days post-op and I have had zero actual pain. I'm beyond delighted with the results and already feel more nimble. My clothes fit better, I feel my chest isn't the first thing people notice about me, and he even cleared me yesterday to go back to the gym. If you're considering breast implant removal or breast implant exchange in Chicago, here's what I'll say: Go meet with Dr. Mustoe. His expertise in this area is unparalleled. You'll be delighted with your pre-op care and post-op care (his nurse, office manager, and front desk staff are all tops). He's surrounded himself with a staff and surgical center that treat you like a person, not a patient. Oh, and yes -- you can afford him. It's my body and I wasn't looking to buy discount (seriously -- there are some things you should never buy off an ad on the Red Line and cosmetic surgery is one of them). While cost was much less important than my comfort and my impression of the surgeon, in a cost comparison, he lands right in the middle of the range.

I went to Dr. Mustoe to have a breast augmentation and lift. I had lost a lot of weight and my breasts were about 1.5 cup sizes different and they were sagging. Dr. Mustoe brought me back to my original size and lifted them beautifully. He was friendly and very helpful. He explained to me what he thought would be best for my body type and he was right. I trusted him to do what was best for me and he did. His staff was amazing. They were always available if I had questions. People don't believe me when I tell them that I have had my breasts done because they look so natural. I have always had very large breasts and have not been able to wear certain styles because of it. After Dr. Mutoe, I can wear anything I want since I can now go without a bra if the outfit calls for it. I have given his number out to 4 people already and will continue to give it out. I would highly recommend Dr. Mustoe to anyone. After all, there is a reason he's been rated top in the city by Chicago Magazine 15 years in a row - he is the absolute best.

I went to Dr. Mustoe when my chin implant of eight years became infected during dental implant surgery. I spent a year with ongoing infections resulting in swelling along the jaw and culminating with two large, angry boils on either side of my chin implant. When the boils dried up, I was left with two very deep indentations on each side of my chin implant, making me look "jowly" and rather square. I visited two local plastic surgeons, one who referred to my problem as a "red herring" and the other who wanted to continue the antibiotics. Recognizing my despair, my employer recommended Dr. Mustoe, about two hours away in Chicago. I checked out Dr. Mustoe on the Internet and thought at last, I hit the mother lode. A wound-care specialist, world renown, Harvard educated, patent-holding plastic surgeon, Dr. Mustoe was a God sent. I contacted his office and was scheduled within a week, a lot less waiting time than my two local surgeons. At our first meeting, Dr. Mustoe didn't equivocate saying my implant had to be removed and did so immediately that day. The following week, Dr. Mustoe outlined what I needed to return my face to its prior state and even enhance it -- a face lift, neck lift, and fat grafting for the deep indentations. I went a little further and added eyelid surgery and fat grafting to my upper lip. Surgery was scheduled for next month. It has been almost two months since my surgery. I no longer have a "drapey" neck, wrinkles, baggy eyelids and especially those disturbing, deep indentations or inverted dimples along my chin. Not only have I gotten my face back, I dare say I look 20 years younger. (I pored over old photos to make that claim!). What's more, the scarring is visibly minimal. At Christmas we visited our children in Washington D.C. who were unaware of my procedures. My daughter-in-law, a surgical RN, said my "skin looked flawless" and my face and neck didn't show any "aging." I didn't look as though I "had anything done, which is the goal." About Dr. Mustoe's demeanor: at first I was apprehensive about visiting a surgeon of Dr. Mustoe's caliber, especially after my less-than-positive experiences with two local surgeons. (He's even been on Oprah!). He immediately put me at ease and demonstrated a genuine concern for my indentation problem and what I hoped to look like afterwards. Never once did he over-promise. He cautiously said he could improve my indentations by "80%." He said I would look "rested." My deep indentations are much improved -- more like 90%. I, like Rip VanWinkle, look "rested," almost 20-years' worth. Finally, there are other considerations to plastic surgery - cost and recovery. Dr. Mustoe's fees were very comparable to what I would have paid locally in my much smaller town, and I certainly would not have had a surgeon with Dr. Mustoe's credentials. My recovery was speedy. I may have had 3 days of pain. The laser treatment I had at Dr. Mustoe's office greatly diminished the discoloration from bruising. I only have superlatives when describing Dr. Mustoe's staff. From Between, the receptionist, to Cindy, the laser specialist and aesthetician, to Lori, patient care coordinator, and finally, Beth Wagley, RN, I could not have been treated with greater care, courtesy, or concern. Both my husband, my own private "nurse," and I are thoroughly pleased with the experience and results.

My Brother Ricky had a fatty lymphoma on his forehead that was the size of a apricot. He had been to a Dr. in Wisconsin to remove it but it came back. So based on reviews he saw Dr. Mustoe. And Ricky was so happy with the results Ricky was very pleased with Dr. Mustoe & all his staff from the booking of the appointment to the after care visit he was treated with kindness & respect. We have a large family & we went with Ricky for moral support because his lymphoma really bothered him & Dr. Mustoe & every one there all went above & beyond what you expect for a staff & a Doctor. I found Dr. Mustoe through a magazine naming him a top plastic surgeon in Chicago. I was taken a back by the long wait to see him and the $200 charge for the consult but I did it anyway. I was on a wait list and got in sooner when someone cancelled. I have interviewed several plastic surgeons and he is what I was looking for, a doctor, not a salesman. He talks fast so listen up when he is explaining the procedure. All the questions I was about to ask he already had answered. HIs nurse is really nice and goes through everything with you. I had arm lipo. It was done in his office. I chose the sedative vs. being knocked out. I have a high tolerance for meds so I did feel a little bit of the procedure so make sure you are honest about your weight and how much it meds it takes you to feel sleepy. I did it on a Friday and was back to work on Monday. No issues or complications. I am happy with the results 4 months later. There are no scars and it looks natural.

I wanted to love him but my under eye fat grafting job was botched & when I contacted them to have it corrected they told me he could try to fix it but that I would be charged. ????? Usually when you pay an extraordinary amount for a job to be done correctly if it's not you'd assume they'd have the integrity to fix it... to give you what you paid for. About 17 years ago I had reconstructive surgery from a mastectomy. Although I was very happy for being a survivor, I was very disappointed in the reconstructive results. Because of the life of such surgery, it was time to have a "re-do". I saw a surgeon where I live and was not impressed. My husband understood my disappointments and read the numerous outstanding reviews on Dr. Mustoe. He showed me the reviews and we knew this was the surgeon for me. I had my surgery last week and could not be happier. Now when I look at myself, I smile....I can not remember the last time I felt this good about myself. Dr. Mustoe is not only an outstanding surgeon but he is also an outstanding individual. Every last detail was discussed. I traveled from out of town for numerous expander procedures and he and his team always made sure I was out on time so I would not miss my train. I am extremely thrilled with Dr. Mustoe yet again. He really made my lemons into lemonade! The confidence and self esteem he gives me through his craft and perfection is priceless. No reason any woman facing reconstruction needs to worry in his hands. This was my second time using Dr. Mustoe. Both he and his staff made me feel like family. The process was great. Within 2 weeks of delivering my second child, I was diagnosed with both breast & ovarian cancer. I went from being pregnant to being put into menopause (I underwent a hystorectomy for the ovarian cancer) & I had a bilateral mastectomy in a mater of weeks. My first plastic surgeon quickly ran me through the system, like I was a part in a factory. I was extremely unhappy with the outcome. Then, I consulted Dr. Mustoe. He got it! He was the first to understand that I felt androgyenous and that a proper reconstruction would make a huge difference. He & I (& his wonderful staff) worked over the next few years to correct the first reconstuction. I had some difficulty with a few surgeries (nothing that Dr. Mustoe could have prevented...my immune system had been greatly weaken after 3 rounds of chemotherapy). I remember after one of the larger surgeries, I developed a pocket of fluid near my incision (this is a come side affect of that surgery which is easily resolved) Dr. Mustoe met me in the office on an early Saturday morning (when the office was closed) to speed up my recovery! I can go on & on about his remarkable skill & intelligence, but his patience & mild manored nature brought me to where I am today...very happy, very content, with 2 beautifully reconstructed breasts that give me the shape I needed to feel like the woman I am today!

I was referred to Dr. Mustoe for my breast augmentation through a friend. I did some research on him and liked what I had seen and read. When I went to my first consultation appointment, the entire staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. I was faced with a fibroid tumor when I was 30. It was growing rapidly and needed to be removed. A colleague told me about Dr. Mustoe who concurred that the removal of the tumor would leave my right breast deformed. I went though breast augmentation and had no problems for 22 years. Last year, a massage therapist caused the implant to rupture. I have been living in Florida for 8 years and received opinions from several physicians here. I was not at all impressed and waited almost 8 months to arrange schedules to see Dr. Mustoe. Once again, he was professional, met all my needs including very natural looking breasts and working with the same scar area around my nipple rather that creating new scars. I just saw him last week for a final exam and hope he is still practicing 20 years from now, as I would not want to see any other practitioner. Thank you Dr. Mustoe!

I saw Dr. Mustoe for a septoplasty and rhinoplasty. I was debating going to an ENT for sinus surgery or just having the septoplasty. Dr. Mustoe was the only plastic surgeon that I went to see. There was a long wait to get in initially. He put me at ease that he has had extensive experience with not just rhinoplasties, but septoplasties as well. I was also concerned that my nose would look natural, as I was on the fence about having any additional work done besides the septoplasty. He put me at ease on that front as well. The nurse is SO nice. Every visit she made me feel at ease and at home. Bituin at the front desk was extremely helpful when I had questions that still needed answers. Dr. Mustoe's work is great. It is 15 days after the surgery and I can already breath a lot better. I also love the way my nose looks! It looks natural on my face.

My first experience with Dr. Mustoe was when he performed a revision rhinoplasty on my daughter after she had pretty disastrous results by another surgeon in the area. Dr. Mustoe came highly recommended to us and I cannot even begin to tell you how happy we are with the results. You can't even compare this to what was done to her before. Chicago's Best Plastic Surgeon :-) Thirteen years ago (2005) Dr Mustoe performed a facelift to correct my turkey neck and jowls. I was very pleased with the results so when I started to notice my neck and jowls creeping back (2018), I went to see Dr Mustoe again. I was worried at 72yrs old that I was too old for a facelift, but Dr Mustoe was very encouraging, noting that I was in good health (thank you yoga classes) - and he was confident that I would have another excellent outcome. I loved my 2005 FL results! I wanted again to look like me, not tired looking, not looking like I had something "done", but rather rested and energized. Obviously Dr Mustoe was my first choice for my 2018 FL. I don't believe there is a better plastic surgeon. I kept a pictorial diary of my 2005 FL, so I knew that the FL recovery is a process. The first week after my 2018 FL, my bruising/swelling was noticeable, but no more so than it was after my 2005 FL. At 4 weeks, my bruising is gone and my swelling is slowly lessening. From my first FL, I learned that total recovery is a lengthy process taking 2-4 months for all the swelling to dissipate... but it is SO worth it! I can see already that I will have again great results. If you are thinking about a FL, my advice is to consult with Dr Mustoe. He will listen to you, will give you options/suggestions and will not try to "sell" you as other PS tend to do. Also, my post-surgery experience has been excellent. The office staff is attentive and caring. Dr Mustoe is readily available, even giving his cell number for any emergency. I will continue to post updates on my recovery

Very happy with the results and the overall process. I needed a lower lid blepharoplasty and after speaking with several surgeons I picked Dr. Mustoe. Surgical procedures have always made me nervous; however, their process was surprisingly stress free. Recovery time was relatively quick as well. Dr. Mustoe is an exceptional plastic surgeon. I went to him for eyelid surgery and a year later for a neck and lower face lift. I consulted with three other surgeons before making my selection. I had my surgery with Dr Thomas mostoe October 31st 2017 or rhinoplasty. At the consultation doctor mustoe promise me a beautiful nose and that he was an expert pretty much everything. I was taking pictures from front and peripheral. I was charged 8000 dollars and everything was fine I had my surgery I was off for 5 days and when they took this plane and look fine I noticed that one of my nostrils what's smaller than the other and my nose was crooked. I address my concerns to dr. Mostoe and he promised he was going to fix it as soon as a year has passed to make sure that that was the way my nose was going to be a year pass I contact dr. Mostoe he injected my nose for a couple months because it was looking really bad. After 6 or seven sessions dr. Mustoe said that he couldn't do anymore but he was going to correct it first he said that he was going to correct it in the office it was a minor change then he changed his mind he said that it was going to be in a hospital setting then he he kept on going back and forth and not decisive what he was going to do I he said to make an appointment to schedule the correction I called the office numerous times to make this appointment no one has gotten back to me till this day now has been 2 years and I have my surgery my nose looks horrific I do not recommend you spending it $8,000 for bad work I would give zero starts but unfortunately that's not an option they'll take your money. And they won't fix it I believe one of his students did it since she was walking around with him all the time but at the end of the day he's a doctor and he should be responsible for I'm not a hundred percent sure she did it but I can tell you that I have a bad job done and my money was taken it was never corrected beware, too add they lost my pictures...and file ..

I am only 3 weeks post surgery. I had a breast reduction and lift. I had surgery on a Wednesday and was back to work on a Monday. I was in very little pain and was very surprised at how fast I recovered. Dr. Mustoe is very easy to talk to and listens to your concerns. He is very detailed in his answers which helps as well. Seeing that I am only 3 weeks post I am not 100% seeing my complete results yet, but what I see so far is AMAZING. The scaring is extremely minimal and I have yet to start using my scar gel to help it along. also, I have not had any back pain since the surgery. This so far has been life changing. I cant wait to go on a run and see how freeing it feels :)
