After deciding to have SmartLipo after being told it was the procedure that would address my issue, I had doubts once in the "operating room" on site, not particularly tidy, I should have known then, but after Dr. Jeffries once done, the disappointment began in force. I was lopsided, and developed lumps and divots. Kept telling me they'd go away, never did, paid for a revision that didn't address the issue either. No offer of a refund, apology, nothing...wanted me to continue for endless follow ups where they thought it would just go away...finally after 2+ years got a second opinion and discovered that a different option would have rendered a better result...bad bad bad, save your money, research your options, they are more professional individuals not that far away.

They were able to get me in quickly to address a problem cyst that was causing me pain.

I went in and asked about breast augmentation, and was told "we don't work on transgender people". I was not asked any other questions about my medical history or the fact I've been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for almost 3 years. I was ready to write a check today.

Happy that many of you have had a good experience as it was not the case recently 10/18 with my wife. She had a painful lesion near her sternum, contacted her long time dermatologist in Florida who suggested that she get in and have a biopsy done to help speed up the process when we return to FL for the winter. Upon the recommendation of others and reviews, she felt that she could trust having simple biopsy done to determine the possibility that it may be malignant. Beware of signing a release as it says that they have the right to do basically whatever they determine you need done regardless of what you specifically stated that you were there. My wife was placed on the table and the spot in question was scooped out rather than have a simple biopsy as was requested....and charged $900 for the procedure which they then told her that they did not likely get it all. What??? Patient beware...my wife posted her displeasure on a FB page which has been deleted. What??? They will contact you and tell you that you signed a release and then try to appease you with another appointment to see management. Truthfully, I wouldn't let my wife go near there again. Then asked how they could help make it right. My wife suggested that they send our self pay $900 back and that is the last we heard from them. Whammo...FB page where my wife indicated her displeasure was entirely deleted. What??? Go at your own risk...can't say we didn't warn you.

Soderstrom Skin Institute is a wonderful place to go for anything from make up to laser surgery. Every time I go the staff is very helpful, respectful and courteous. They are also the best at skin cancer detection. They are one of the only places in central Illinois that has the ability to do Mohs procedures on skin cancer to make sure they get all the malignant cells and leaves minimal scarring.

I could type up a much needed lengthy review stating how poor my experience was...but from the ones Im reading and the people Ive spoken with I think the general public has a handle on how this place really is.

Good service but extremely expensive. I should have got a committed price up front. They charged $516 for a mole removal when my doctor would have charged $114.

Dr. Lomax and staff did a fantastic job in treating me. A+ service!

Routine care matters seem to be handled well, and there are some very kind individuals working here. Soderstrom as a whole seems unable to handle more complicated issues (i.e., insurance care coordination, doctor to staff communication, doctor to doctor communication). My personal experience has been that time spent overcoming the red tape, ultimately just led to more hurdles.

I've always had great experience every time I've been in! can't not say enough good things! Michelle Roth is amazing.

Dr Jefferies practices outside his expertise. This guy needs to go back to school. Botched is a great term for what he did to me during both the first and then later revision attempt. Luckily another plastic surgeon who practices both in Bloomington and Peoria corrected the issues. Wish I knew where to go the first time! Do your homework! Trust your gut...

Long wait times. Have waited over an hour before just for a 5 minute apt. Dissatisfied with their client interaction.

I went there for a skin rash. The nurse was more professional than the doctor I only saw for 2 minutes. He walked into the room looked at my rash on my leg wrote a prescription told the nurse to give me a shot an walked back out the door. I personally will never go back to them again

Went in for a screening....I understand they have some days when they are complimentary.....I haven’t been to Dermatologist....for quite awhile...my experience then... was top notch Dr Taulbee set the bar pretty high....my visit at soderstrom was more like....ok you got nothing froze off a couple places...almost felt like I wasn’t worthy of the less than five minutes the dr. spent with me....said come back in year....boy can’t wait...I understand some have serious and maybe life threatening conditions....there is no excuse for the type of treatment I received...

I had a biopsy here under Dr. Kentosh, and I received excellent service. He was extremely helpful in explaining things to me in a simple way, and was efficient with his time given his busy appointment schedule. I was very satisfied with the care I received and would recommend Dr. Kentosh to everyone.

Missy Sodaro

Great place anf the staff are very friendly. My family has been going here for 2 years.

Aaron Warr

Excellent service, friendly staff. The services provided are the best and not just at one location. 5 stars indeed.

The doctor who shall remain nameless was incredibly rude and abrasive towards my wife. From what she told me, it was borderline demeaning. Incredibly disappointed with the level of service as I had heard glowing reviews before.

My dad and I have both had great experiences with Dr. Carl Soderstrom and his staff. They are friendly, informative and thorough! We attended one of their free skin cancer screenings to have them look at a couple spots. My dad's spots were cancerous. They took care of these & he has been doing great!! Very pleased with the process -- from discovery (totally surprised there was no charge for this screening!) til removal. I have also visited their day spa, Skin Dimensions. I was greeted with a smile, and got right in at my scheduled appointment. The staff was friendly, and provided great customer service. The ambiance was relaxing....perfect for a spa day! I can't wait to be pampered again;)

Thank you Dr. Soderstrom, Associates, & Staff for ALWAYS doing your best to accommodate our appointment date/time requests and more importantly providing top notch care! You have helped us more than you will ever know! Much appreciated!

Ann Stratton, the cosmetic nurse, is an amazing asset to the Soderstrom Skin Institute team. Not only do I value her opinion, I truly trust her medical cosmetic skills based on her clinical experience and knowledge of all the products she uses- from Botox and Juvederm injections to chemical peels. She has a very warm bedside manner, is very personable, never makes you feel rushed, and definitely cares about the patient's satisfaction.

Gregory Gerontes

I was quite happy with Dr. Soderstrom's diagnosis of my skin problem. He was confident in his diagnosis and proved to be accurate as I followed his instructions and I have had no issue since. I can say with 100% degree of certainty that if I ever have a major skin issue, he will be the first physician I call.

Always found the staff here to be caring and friendly whenever I've seen them.

Some of the staff is pretty rude. You can tell that the Dr's don't really care about their patients just by the way they look at you when they walk in the door. I think I've only met 3 nice employees. And they really should space out their appointments better. Every time I come in for an appointment it takes 15-20 minimum just to get me into a room.

I have been battling head lice for a couple months now and after trying almost all of the OTC treatments, going to urgent care to see a doctor and many, many, many home remedies, a family member recommended Soderstrom. She said she had been going there for years and they've always helped her with everything from psoriasis to poison ivy. She told me they were probably the best around in her opinion. So I made an appointment. When I first got there, the receptionists were rude and chatting among themselves. I was told to have a seat and they would bring my insurance card and all the paperwork I needed out to me. I waited fifteen minutes and no one had brought anything out so I went to the desk to ask and the receptionist told me they were "working on it" and I needed to have a seat. After another ten minutes someone finally brought everything to me. I finished the paper work and then waited another 20 minutes for my name to be called- I understand this was probably because they had more patients than rooms, I'm not too upset about that. Once I was finally taken to a room, I waited about five minutes for a nurse to come in. When she finally did and I told her why I was there, she didn't seem to believe me. She told me the doctor would be with my shortly and left. After almost ten minutes the nurse came back with a doctor and a young woman I can only assume was a student. Neither one of them introduced themselves. I told the doctor why I was there and he seemed like he didn't believe me either. The doctor called me by the wrong name and continued to get my name wrong after I corrected him twice. When the doctor "examined" my hair- if one could even call it that- he took the ink pen out of his mouth and used that to move a little bit of my hair around. He said "What is that? Is that lice?" at which point the student and nurse shrugged their shoulders. He asked, "How do we treat head lice?" and again, the nurse and student shrugged their shoulders. The doctor said, "Alright. One of you google it." while he rinsed off his ink pen that he had just had in my hair in the sink and placed it back in his mouth. The nurse and the student both took their iPhones out of their pockets and googled it. The student gave the doctor a complicated name of a shampoo to use and he said "Good enough, I guess." and had the nurse write a prescription for that. He then left without another word. When I went to check out, I was not given the option of making another appointment- I knew I would not be coming back after that- the woman at the desk wrote down a date on a card and said, "Okay, we'll see you in two weeks!" (I have since cancelled the appointment.) At the pharmacy, trying to fill the prescription I was given, the pharmacist said he had never heard of that particular shampoo and it wasn't in their computer system. I said, "The doctor did a google search to find it, I'm not surprised." They called the doctor to ask about the prescription and were told the doctor wasn't taking any phone calls at this time and he would get back to them at his earliest convenience. Needless to say, I did not get that prescription filled. I was extremely dissatisfied with my visit to Soderstrom, especially after hearing such great things about them. I will not be going back and I will be sure to tell as many people about my bad service as possible.

We were incredibly disappointed with Soderstom. They refused to refer us to the cancer center even when we asked repeatedly. They operated without any concern for results or longterm appearance. Dr Jefferies acknowledged half way through the surgery that he did not know much about the treatment of this kind of cancer. Their peers in cancer treatment scoffed at their assessment and treatment plan as unnecessary.their goal seems to be many follow up procedures. Stay away

Laurie

On 11/13 I had to have 2 cancerous spots removed from my nose. I was not looking forward to any of it but when we got there and met Dr. Kentosh, Jenna, Brenda and Brittany they put me at ease and made a not so great procedure not so terrible. They explained everything so a non medical person could understand and were very compassionate. When it was time to have the 2 areas closed we met the plastic surgeon Dr. Jefferies and he was just as amazing as the rest of the staff that we had all day. If in the future we need any skin procedures done we will be going back to them!!!! Thank you guys for taking such wonderful care.
