Dr Shfrin's work is unlike any plastic surgeon. I had tummy tuck and lipo around the abdomen and lower back. Later, I had lipo on my legs. I couldn't be happier with the results. Amazing surgeon!! A bit of background about me: I’m 26, really wanted a Brazilian butt lift and did lots of research. I read that Dr. Shifrin was THE plastic surgeon to go to for a BBL, and scheduled a consultation. In the meantime, I saw two other plastic surgeons closer to me (in the suburbs) for comparison. I recently went to his new office and it's super nice and easy to get to off the highway and has a ton of street parking. Way better than his old location with the terrible parking lot. I think I paid $6 for 2 hours in front of his building. I really like the south loop location as I live in the suburbs and hate driving in the city. I got off near McCormick place and was there. I'm sending all my friends.

I have allowed this much time to lapse in order to give a realistic overview of the experience as well as the result of the procedure. A year later? My results are nothing less than the absolute best! Dr. Shifrin, as well as his staff were professional, patient, knowledgeable, supportive and attentive. Surgery is never easy on the patient, but for as much fear as I had going in, I would never have done anything different now. Dr. Shifrin did an amazing job. My recovery was smooth and a year later my scarring is minimal, which was a concern for me, someone who scars easily and has fair skin. Dr. Shifrin was receptive to my goals and was able to deliver a result which far exceeded my expectations. The procedure almost seemed under priced for how much value my results have had to me. Everyone around me was surprised on how active I was within the few days after surgery, maybe that's just how I am but I believe it was because of how Dr. Shifrin did my surgery and the medications he gave me. It was my first and only surgery so I don't have much to compare it with, but I am very satisfied with the results and can't feel any better!

Lastly, a lot of surgeons can have huge egos and are inaccessible, but Dr. Shifrin has been outstanding in that regard. He is always patient with my questions and concerns and responds promptly. Waste of money and so very broken hearted! I wish I had never recommend my 'friend to Dr.Shifrin! I can completely agree with the other review I just read bc it sounds just like her experience! The minute they have your money which is by the way way over priced not to mention for the work he does not only is the majority of his staff rude and snobby but she will definitely have to see another surgeon for the work he should have done the first time! If you complain he will NOT stand behind his work and there MUST be something wrong with YOU if your not happy and treat you like trash. You will also be seemingly labeled as a bad patient. I am not sure if the staff whom have had work done by him are the ones writing these reviews because it does not seem to be even close to her experience. I also went with her to her surgery and one of her follow ups bc I have been saving for years to have work done and I was glad to be able to see first hand the process. I could not believe just how bad his bedside manner was after surgery. It was so very obvious it did not turn out and there's nothing you can do but find another doctor and pay to have it fixed(which will cost you alot less then what you will pay Dr Shifrin) Do not expect him to stand behind his work bc he definitely refused to fix anything!Oh and when they respond to a negative review with "contact the office" for what? To be told too bad you can pay for it again or you not the kind of client they will do work on bc your unhappy. Its been an absolute nightmare and she doesn't have the money to pay another doctor she could've gotten the same work done for alot less and been treated with respect. I don't know any other doctor that will not stand behind his work and make sure his patients are happy especially when you are paying top dollar! I totally understand that sometimes there are those that have unrealistic expectations and are just never happy however this was not at all the case! They kept telling her to wait three months for the results and it has now been 6 months Dr. Shifrin and his staff all act as though he's God and couldnt possibly have done a bad job. It has to be her fault somehow maybe the way she layed while she was healing or maybe she is expecting perfection and has a negative self image or it's not his fault that her body healed that way after all she signed the agreement that basically not matter how it turns out and how much you paid there's nothing you can do about it other then pay him again twice as much as another surgeon for it to maybe turn out the way it should've the first time so you can be treated like your trash all over again. I really wish I had done my own research and word of mouth and not just depended on reviews to recommend him. I got my work done from a different doctor and it turned out great and for alot less. I even asked my doctor and showed him photos if the same thing had happened to me and he said " without a doubt I would have fixed it because nobody is perfect but I try to be it's your body but every patient is like a painting I'm the artist and I take pride in my work." I feel thats how every plastic surgeon should be we are not just a number this is our body and there should be more vaule placed on that then just another paycheck. Be careful who you trust with your body you only have one and this industry is not like any other you can show a receipt and get your money back and there's no one to complain to if you are unhappy Dr. Shifrin has all the control over your experience and if your doctor is not the kind to care about your results and how you feel there's absolutely nothing you can do about it other then feel duped and so extremely dissapointed and broken hearted that you have invested so much money and time off work and family for a very painful recovery just to have to do it all over again if your fortunate enough to be able to do that.

I had researched my options for months and even considered flying down to Miami, but I’m so glad I decided to stay local and go with Dr. Shifrin. First, Dr. Shifrin gave me exactly what I wanted. If you complain he will NOT stand behind his work and there MUST be something wrong with YOU if your not happy and treat you like trash. You will also be seemingly labeled as a bad patient. I've worked with Dr. Shifrin for 3 years now and can honestly say he's the best I've ever seen. Surgeons are like athletes in the sense that some are good, some are great, and then there's the best. There are a lot of great surgeons here but Dr. Shifrin is by far the best. He's skilled at all kinds of surgeries -- face, body, liposuction, etc. The most interesting thing is he's had to fix other famous surgeons mistakes (think Miami, LA). Chicagoland is lucky they have him here -- there's no reason to ever go to anyone else!

As referenced by a previous reviewer, the decision to have plastic surgery and find a doctor that I really liked and trusted was a very serious one. I vacillated on the decision for a couple years. Finally, I decided to take the plunge with Dr. Shifrin and what a truly wonderful decision it has been. I cannot praise that staff enough!! The two young ladies at the desk were so friendly and personable despite the fact that they were apparently quite busy. The office and exam room were very clean and well kept. Upon Dr. Shifrin's arrival to the exam room, I wanted to run and hide because I was VERY uncomfortable with my body. Dr. Shifrin was so down to earth, so knowledgeable, and very reassuring. I decided right then that this was the place for me. When I came in for pre-op, the MA Connie, was awesome! I was extremely disgusted by the idea of taking pictures of my body. Connie was so patient with me and personable, she totally distracted me, took the pictures quickly, and made me feel completely comfortable. The scheduling and payment processes were quite smooth, too. A lot to sign but again, the 2 ladies took time to explain everything, lay out payment options, and one of them even shared her personal experiences with plastic surgery. Both of them were so friendly and very patient with me. On the morning of surgery, I was blown away by how nice and accommodating the surgical staff is, not to mention efficient. Dr. Shifrin came in greeted me by name, marked me, and off to surgery I went. Nurse Kelly was an absolute doll and the anesthesiologist was very thorough. When I woke up, the staff provided excellent care. Recovery was rough. This is real surgery! Despite this, each time I called with questions, the staff was supportive and thorough. Dr. Paul was just the best!! Each time I came in for post-op visits and follow ups, the staff was so reassuring and always cheered me on. Dr. Shifrin was the same friendly guy. He greeted me with a hug and was very complimentary. Overall, I am elated with my results and the whole experience. I feel so much more confident when I walk into a room. My clothes fit so much better. (In fact, some of them are too big [I had a lot of "fat" clothes]. I am actually shopping for a bikini which is something I had not even considered in the last 16 years.) I do not at all regret my decision to have surgery with Dr. Shifrin and I would definitely return to him if I decide upon further "alterations" in the future. He is the real deal.

I had a deviated septum and a nasal fracture that was damaged due to trauma when I was a teenager. Dr. Shifrin discovered that I had a breathing problem due to the blockage in my septum, and damaged bones and cartilage at the bridge of my nose. He advised me that if I did not fix it now that my breathing problems would get worse as I got older. Dr. Shifrin patiently explained the process of the surgery from the beginning to the end. He walked me every step of the way assuring me that the surgery would go smoothly, and that I would be happy with the way I looked after the surgery. Not happy with the results of my lipo. It's almost like he missed whole sections leaving me very lumpy. His bedside manner was good, but his skills are a different story. Beware . Now I will have to spend more money to fix his bad job. I can't even believe that they wanted a review from me!! Well here you go.....stay away!

I've worked with Dr. Shifrin for 3 years now and can honestly say he's the best I've ever seen. Surgeons are like athletes in the sense that some are good, some are great, and then there's the best. There are a lot of great surgeons here but Dr. Shifrin is by far the best. He's skilled at all kinds of surgeries -- face, body, liposuction, etc. The most interesting thing is he's had to fix other famous surgeons mistakes (think Miami, LA). Chicagoland is lucky they have him here -- there's no reason to ever go to anyone else!

As referenced by a previous reviewer, the decision to have plastic surgery and find a doctor that I really liked and trusted was a very serious one. I vacillated on the decision for a couple years. Finally, I decided to take the plunge with Dr. Shifrin and what a truly wonderful decision it has been. I cannot praise that staff enough!! The two young ladies at the desk were so friendly and personable despite the fact that they were apparently quite busy. The office and exam room were very clean and well kept. Upon Dr. Shifrin's arrival to the exam room, I wanted to run and hide because I was VERY uncomfortable with my body. Dr. Shifrin was so down to earth, so knowledgeable, and very reassuring. I decided right then that this was the place for me. When I came in for pre-op, the MA Connie, was awesome! I was extremely disgusted by the idea of taking pictures of my body. Connie was so patient with me and personable, she totally distracted me, took the pictures quickly, and made me feel completely comfortable. The scheduling and payment processes were quite smooth, too. A lot to sign but again, the 2 ladies took time to explain everything, lay out payment options, and one of them even shared her personal experiences with plastic surgery. Both of them were so friendly and very patient with me. On the morning of surgery, I was blown away by how nice and accommodating the surgical staff is, not to mention efficient. Dr. Shifrin came in greeted me by name, marked me, and off to surgery I went. Nurse Kelly was an absolute doll and the anesthesiologist was very thorough. When I woke up, the staff provided excellent care. Recovery was rough. This is real surgery! Despite this, each time I called with questions, the staff was supportive and thorough. Dr. Paul was just the best!! Each time I came in for post-op visits and follow ups, the staff was so reassuring and always cheered me on. Dr. Shifrin was the same friendly guy. He greeted me with a hug and was very complimentary. Overall, I am elated with my results and the whole experience. I feel so much more confident when I walk into a room. My clothes fit so much better. (In fact, some of them are too big [I had a lot of "fat" clothes]. I am actually shopping for a bikini which is something I had not even considered in the last 16 years.) I do not at all regret my decision to have surgery with Dr. Shifrin and I would definitely return to him if I decide upon further "alterations" in the future. He is the real deal.

I had a deviated septum and a nasal fracture that was damaged due to trauma when I was a teenager. Dr. Shifrin discovered that I had a breathing problem due to the blockage in my septum, and damaged bones and cartilage at the bridge of my nose. He advised me that if I did not fix it now that my breathing problems would get worse as I got older. Dr. Shifrin patiently explained the process of the surgery from the beginning to the end. He walked me every step of the way assuring me that the surgery would go smoothly, and that I would be happy with the way I looked after the surgery. Dr. David Shifrin and his staff are the best! I had a bbl with implants. His nurses are super nice and caring and Dr. Shifrin's bed side manner is amazing. He put me at ease as soon as I met him. My consultation was originally for just a bbl but when I showed him my wish pics he said I would need implants to achieve my desired results. I am now 2 months post op and I am absolutly loving my results. He was so right. My pre op was 3 weeks prior to surgery and he answered all of my questions and made me feel super comfortable about my upcoming operation. Day of surgery he could tell I was a bit nervous prior to the operation and assured me that I was in great hands and that everything would go well and I would wake up beautiful. I had some post op issues with feeling nauseous and dehydrated and insisted I get more fluids before leaving and stayed with me while I got them. He was happy to see me perk up. My 24 hour post op appointment Dr. Shifrin staff helped me up to his office as my recovery was slow going at the start. He saw I was struggling so worked with me at my pace and got me on my way home so I could rest. I had my drains removed at 1 week post op. My 6 week post op appointment he could tell that my recovery had turned a corner and I was healing really well. He and I both loved my results that were already showing through and cleared me to start exercising. Thank you Dr. Shifrin for my amazing butt I can not wait until next summer to show it off. If that was truly the case why didn't he tell me that on my first consultation . said I gained 9 lb funny I went to my doctor before surgery to get medical released and then I just went after he told me that I had gained weight at my doctor's office according to them I've only gained 1 pound. I had no problem paying more than any other doctor had quoted me because I thought I was going to the best was very disappointed Will be getting more fat taken out but going to go to a different doctor more expensive isn't always better my friends that paid $5,000 for their BBL and have way better results

After the surgery, they were very thorough in checking my incisions and swelling regularly. My only complaint is that I received a bill from the surgery site after I paid the entire bill up front.
