Dr. Kim is NOT a board certified plastic surgeon. The American Board of Plastic Surgery(ABPS) is the ONLY board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. Kim is NOT a member. He is a glorified ENT! To become certified in plastic surgery doctors must complete 6-8 years of rigorous training AFTER medical school, 1-2 years of ethical practice after that training, pass a tough 2 part exam(written/oral), and complete difficult case work. DR.KIM DOES NOT HAVE THIS TRAINING! I feel so misled and betrayed. Several doctors purchase memberships to boards and call themselves board certified. There is no law to safe guard the public from false claims by any doctor who chooses to designate himself as a Plastic Surgeon. Such self designations are bolstered by misrepresentation in ads, claims, and media manipulation. This certainly explains why he mutilated my face and then said "I don't get it." I am LIVID! My review for Dr. Kun Kim is entitled A Nightmare! (Pictures.) There are at least 3 reviews for him with the title "Nightmare." I decided to do an update because I noticed that the moment my negative review appeared 3 positive reviews magically appeared during the same week. This is a tactic that is used to offset negative reviews. I don't want anyone to be swayed by that. He completely destroyed my face and subsequently my life. Please make sure you look at reviews on Real Self, Ratemds, vitals, healthgrades, and Yelp(scroll down for additional reviews that are not recommended.) He is butchering people's faces and eyes. In addition to, he's leaving horrific scars. Plastic surgeons are exhibiting a great deal of arrogance since it is extremely difficult to pursue them in court. It seems as though they are destroying lives without consequences. Regarding his response, notice in the beginning he states there are no guarantees, but in the end he touts his 20 years in the business. In my opinion, time does not necessarily mean that you are automatically great. However, it certainly gives you the opportunity to hone and perfect your skills. Therefore, it you are delivering catastrophic results at this stage in your career maybe retirement should be in your near future. FYI I am not using an alias. I have a hyphenated last name. I was your patient for 10 years before you turned your back on me, so you should know this.

Dr Kim is an amazing doctor!!! I went in just to get a cholesterol deposit on my left eye removed, but with his expertise and guidance, he also completed a Blepharoplasty procedure to correct the uneven look that the first procedure would cause. It came out perfect!!! I would recommend him to do that surgery because he does it meticulously. I thought I had to do it in Korea since everyone says Korea performs these types of surgery better than USA doctors, but I am extremely happy with the results. Thank you Dr Kun!!

I had an Asian double eyelid and mini - face lift a few weeks ago , I'm very grateful to Dr Kim and his staff for a phenomenal job! I look younger and prettier by at least 10 years . I was in the office for less than 20 minutes from start to finish for dimple creation. My dimple took 2 minutes and lasted for less than a month. It was a waste of money and embarrassment. I contacted the office and they wanted me to pay half the price of the original procedure to get it redone. My friend went somewhere else and her procedure took 30 minutes... 5 years later she still had her dimple.

As an entertainer, I am always concerned about appearance and, of course, signs of aging. I have seen several surgeons over the years but found Dr. Kim to be highly qualified, skilled and competent, his fees reasonable, his office staff knowledgeable and I have been completely happy with the procedures I have had done there. A good cosmetic surgeon not only has to have the science down pat, but must also be somewhat of an artist. During my consultation, Dr. Kim even suggested a procedure which I did not know about that was less expensive than what I had originally planned. This worked out beautifully but it took an artist's eye to see that. Doctors - as well as artists - are human and I think confidence is often mistaken for arrogance and professionalism is sometimes mistaken for indifference but I found Dr. Kim to be pleasant and personable as well as confident and professional.

I had dimpleplasty done 2 weeks ago. The nurses and staff are wonderful! The doctor is very quick in and out but he done a great job so that’s all that matters. I had a ROUGH time healing but they were very quick to call me in some more antibiotics as soon as I told them what was going on. Now 2 weeks later I’m loving my dimples and I’m no longer in any pain. Exactly what I wanted. :)

I had a procedure to remove black spots on my face with laser, consisting three treatments. Each treatment takes one month to heal. There are a couple of brown patches and four sports remain, which the doctor said he only provides service, but not guarantee result. I do have some complaints: 1. According to reviews online, laser treatment is supposed to be painless. But, the last step of each laser treatment was particularly painful, even at the lowest setting. Not sure why. It felt like torture each time. 2. After the first treatment, the technician completely missed four to five black spots. For the subsequent two treatments, I pointed them out to the technician. She did apply laser treatments on those spots, however, the lasers were shot slightly off, and made treatments on those spots ineffective. They remained after wounds healed. 3. After all treatments were over, I pointed out those black spots still remained, the doctor said he did not guarantee result. And said If I wanted them taken cared of, I must pay another $100. 4. After the last treatment, I was told to wear sun screen every time I headed out of home, even a short trip driving in the car, otherwise all the dark spots would return, and they would be much worse. Had the doctor told me this before hand, I might have not agreed to do the treatments. The lady who gave me treatments might have an eyesight problem, because she could not focus the laser beam correctly, and kept missing focus. Dr. Kim lacks patience. He appears to be in a hurry on everything, as if he is trying to catch a school bus. --------------------------------------------------------- Respond to owner: No, I do not want to go back in to deal with those patches and spots. They were repeatedly treated except, those four spots were missed every time, including the fourth time for which I paid additional money.

I always had freckles when I was young. People commented how cute they were and I always loved them. However, as I aged, those cute freckles started to grow closer together, connecting the tiny specs on my upper cheeks likes webs of constellations. Was that one near my right eye the Little Dipper? Hmmm, the one on the left looked a lot like Cassiopia. Not to mention, age spots appeared on each side of my temples. Ugh! What is this??? I tried all kinds of primers, foundations, and concealers from Maybelline to Chanel. I tried all kinds of skin treatments to fade my spots. Nothing, I mean nothing, worked. I just ended up spending hundreds of dollars and looking like I had layers of frosting on my skin. Desparate, I even went to Estheticians after Estheticians, who all promised me clear skin after ten treatments. My skin did feel better, and the sessions were totally like being at the spa getting pampered, but my spots were still there. A friend of mine mentioned that I should try going to Dr. Kun Kim for laser. My consultation with Dr. Kim was a bit intimidating, and I wasn't sure if his laser solution would work, but I took the chance and had the Erbium with Q-Switch procedure. For a week after my treatment, my skin was dark like I had an uneven tan. Plus, the Q-Switch spots were black with scabs. I could hide the blotchyness with lots of makeup, but I could tell people were trying to look beyond my makeup to see what I was hiding. No worries though, after a week, my face and the Q-Switch spots peeled off. My face felt super soft, however, the Q-Switch spots were still pink...kind of like raw skin. It took a few months for these pink spots to finally disappear with new skin growth to match with the rest of my face. I think my age (50) played a lot in the delay of healing, because the friend who referred me (27), healed after only a week. The laser treatments in combination with Obagi's Vitamin C Extract removed most of my spots. Now I no longer need to "frost and spackle" my face with foundation. I just use a tinted sunscreen and I'm ready to go. I absolutely love my clear skin! I get compliments everyday that my skin is glowing and I that look younger. I feel younger again too! Next, I'm going to try the Obagi's Nu-Derm set to see if I can further improve the smoothness of my skin. I highly recommend Kim Facial Surgery! Thank you Dr. Kim and your wonderful staff!

Terrible experience! It is like a nightmare for me! I started crying all the time after the procedures were done, and wish I had never gone to Dr. Kim for help! He lacks patience, has no idea what looks good, shows no concern for customers’ concerns and fears, and is careless. He is unprofessional! Caution: Dr. Kim has good credentials. On his web-page, he has beautiful before and after pictures. Because of his credentials and those pictures. I thought I was in good hands. I was terribly wrong! Regardless of what those credentials say and how nice the pictures look, they don’t mean anything! My horrible experience makes me feel like he is really still under training, and should not be practicing plastic surgery without supervision! I had two procedures done: nose reduction and Asian eyelids. For both procedures, he left me with one side larger than the other. The nose looks skewed and looks awful! When asked about my nose, his response was: “It is acceptable.” Really? How can you make one side larger than the other and claim it is acceptable? For my eyelids, before the surgery, he drew lines for incisions, and said he was going to “make me look beautiful”. But those lines where erased right before surgery. He did proceeded surgery freehand, and chatted and laughed with his nurse. He laughed so hard that his hands were shaking, causing some problems on my right eye, and he had to redo it. I was very nervous and asked him to stop chatting and focus instead. It felt like I was paying someone to butcher my face. Immediately after surgery, it was obvious the distance from my eyelashes to the double folds were too wide. Asian eyelids should be half the width. None of the “beautiful” pictures on his web-page resembles what was done for me. Additionally, the right side is much wider than the other. It also swelled more than the left side. Seven days later, I went in to remove the stitches. Dr. Kim was very surprised to see I could barely lift my right eyelid. He probably thought he damaged my eyelid nerves and decided to cut the incisions open to see what was wrong. He said he didn’t see anything wrong and didn’t know why. It was at this moment I lost every bit of faith in him! Even with zero surgery training, I can tell what went wrong: Plastic surgery is a delicate procedure. It starts with a sense of artistic feel, followed by careful design, performed with precision, coupled with good skills and a deep sense of care for clients. Dr. Kim has serious problems: 1. His design is not for Asian eyelids, but failed to communicate with me. 2. He is careless by performing eyelid surgery freehand. 3. He is not paying close attention to what he is doing by chatting and laughing. 4. He has no concern for customers' fear by refusing to stop chatting. 5. He couldn’t tell, or does not know how to make sure both sides are equal. He could have made adjustments to fix the non-symmetrical problem during the surgery. He didn’t do that on both procedures. To fix my nose and eyelid problems, I need to have them redone. The cost would be much higher. Since I have completely lost faith in him, I asked for a refund. He refused. He said “he was only providing a service. He could not guarantee results!” Let that really sink in! For an experienced plastic surgeon, is it really impossible to ensure a symmetrical look, at least not too obvious? Or is it just him? --------------------------Respond to owner: I did call them, told them who I was, and my problems. I was told the office manager was not in the office and she would call me on Monday (9/9/2019). Monday came, she did not call. So I called. The front desk did not say she was not in the office, and transferred me over. No one answered my call. I left a message. No response from her. Tuesday came around. Again, no call from her. Dr. Kim's office staff try to show they are customer friendly, and asked me to address my issues with them. However, my experience tells me they don't care about their customers.

I have seen Dr. Kim 4 times over the past 2 months for a bi-lateral masseter muscle reduction. I did not find him arrogant or apathetic at all and thought he was very informative. Each time I went in, we looked at the past+current pictures to see the results and if further treatment was required. He and his staff were very helpful and friendly and I am very happy with both the experience and the results! No doubt I'll keep going back for any follow-up treatments I may need.

Dr. Kun Kim - Excellent surgeon! I'm Dr. Praya Mam, I am a Foot & Ankle surgeon in private practice for over 20 years. I know how important it is to select your surgeon to perform surgery on you. When I turned 50 my upper eyelids started to droop, It's ugly, make me look older, and look like I'm tired; so I wanted to do something about it . My search ended with Dr Kun Kim @ Kim Facial Plastic Surgery. I had the procedure in Dec 17, 2015 on both of my upper eyelids. Day of the surgery I drove myself because it was done under local anesthetic at Dr. Kim's office. Dr. Kim offered me Valium and Hydrocodone to take to relax but I didn’t want it, so he gave me injection to numb my eyelids, the injection was not bad. His nurse gave me an antibiotic shot in my arm to prevent infection. After it’s all numb, he performed the procedures to remove the excess skin and created a natural looking like for my upper eyelids. He put tiny sutures along the incision lines, surgical dressing was not necessary. The procedure took about 30 minutes for each eyelid. After the procedure, he gave me samples of antibiotic pills to take for a few days and some Tylenol for pain which I did not take because there was no pain, the nurse gave me 2 reusable ice packs to apply to the eyes and some antibiotic ointment, Q-tips, guaze pads with instructions. My eyes heal very well after the procedure, I had some swelling initially. Dr. Kim said I can return to work in a few days, but I stayed home for a week because I was on vacation that week. The staffs were very professional, they called and checked on me to see if everything OK or if I need anything. I returned to see Dr. Kim 1 week later for suture removal. My eyes look good now, I am very happy; I’m glad I had the procedure done! That was my Christmas present to myself :)

I received the worst customer service and treatment as a new patient. I went into Dr. Kim's office to undergo a lip filler procedure. I was new to any cosmetic surgery and of course I had questions and concerns, like anyone would. Although, Dr. Kim seemed very unconcerned, uninterested, and came across as arrogant. I followed through with the procedure and once he finished Dr. Kim produced to tell me to come back within 3-4 if you have any questions and never returned to the room. I waited 20 minutes for him or anyone to come back and explain to me what to expect, after care, and etc. but never received the correct and considerate medical attention. I then went to the receptionist and office manager and explain to them how Dr. Kim had such an narcissistic and careless demeanor and how could a professional, a doctor treat a patient with little to no respect. Dr. Kim overheard mine and the two ladies conversation and decided to raise his voice at me call me a hypochondriac, when my issue had nothing to due with the procedure but about his attitude and professionalism. He continued to make a sence and he later said I was the one creating the problem... I explained to him how HE was the yelling and insulting ME and all Dr. Kim had to say was okay leave, goodbye, and have a Merry Christmas with the narcissistic attitude. I was disgusted. I felt humiliated, attacked, and degraded. Such a true disappointment in a professional. Don't do it.

Each time I've seen Dr. Kim for injectables, my results are OUTSTANDING. My family and friends compliment my "refreshed" appearance, and I owe it all to Dr. Kim's expertise. His gracious staff members are very kind as well, their office is relaxing, and appointments are on-time. I have been Dr. Kim's patient for several years now and he is very professional and great with the procedures. He is very straight forward and never lure his patients into getting more procedure that they didn't desire/need (which a lot of plastic surgeons do... and I do not appreciate that). I've shopped around before I met Dr. Kim and didn't like the fact that the other docs were seeing me as money, not a person. He finished my surgery in about an hour when other docs told me that it will take 4 to 5 hours. That's a lot of hours for me to be on the surgery table. Dr. Kim definitely have the skills and made sure I get the best results with follow up sessions. I look very natural and love the outcomes! I don't think it's fair that the previous reviewer had only went in for a consultation and telling people he's not good. Let me reiterate that he is extremely straight forward and give you only the right information. He does not sugar coat anything. He will tell you no, if he is pretty sure that the procedure that you want won't work!!! Even though it's cosmetic, it's a surgery that is not reversible most of the time. Believe me, you need to have someone who has the skill and experience. Not someone who is overly nice to you and does not give you a good result. His staffs are awesome and very polite. I feel very comfortable every time I go to his office. He definitely puts his heart into his practice. I strongly recommend him!

When I called to ask general questions and set up a consultation for blepharoplasty, the receptionist was super friendly and very informative. The actual consultation with Dr.Kim was a different experience. When asking questions, the doctor seemed unconcerned and almost sarcastic. I didn’t feel like I would be in the best care, and he was not thorough explaning things. At the end, he told us the price and my mother asked to lower the cost because it was on the higher end of our quoted price. The doctor was offended and proceeded to walk out the room after rudely telling us ’I dont even know you’. My mother and I sat there pretty perplexed. At this point, we didn’t know if we needed to walk ourselves out or if he was coming back. It wasn’t a pleasant in-person experience. This could have been handled in a much better way. He provided no explantation and walked out on us. His attitude and professionalism was not all there. --------------------------------------------------------------- Update: We are not concerned about the discount. It was the way it was handled that left us feeling uneasy.
