DR. Steven Proper, M.D., who specializes in surgical removal of skin cancers and abnormal skin growths, removed a suspicious growing lesion on my lower eyelid. The end result was outstanding; no scarring; and I am happy with the procedure and care he provided me.

Horrible experience! Dr. Proper’s MOH’s procedure is disfiguring without regard for the patient at all. He never explains anything- just treats the cancer (not the patient). No privacy at all since everyone sits in the “corral”, waiting for their name to be called out (HIPAA violation, but he doesn’t care?) Cattle call type of practitioner with zero bedside manner. >20+ patients for surgery at same time in waiting room. Does not run anywhere near his schedule. Does not give any preop instructions. No medication discussion prior to surgery to prevent bleeding or infections. For many patient’s, he Misses cancer on 1st pass, then u wait 2-3-4 hours before he gouges you some more and then you wait all over again for results. This is the typical ego maniac that gives doctors the reputation of being money hungry and not interested in others. No regard for patient’s time, comfort or education. He should retire and let a compassionate provider take over. His staff is great and the PA’s are awesome! They try to make up for his terrible short comings. Do not recommend this provider.
